Qubi in Dortmund

I was invited to this restaurant. The food was good, but unfortunately, there was only one waiter responsible for serving and preparing drinks. He tried very hard but was completely overwhelmed because the restaurant was completely full.

We ended up here by chance. It was a busy evening and the waiter was all alone in charge of the bar and hall. When taking the order, the man was anything but friendly, we ordered 2 starters and 2 main courses of which we only received 1 starter. Despite the not very friendly welcome, the food was really fantastic! It is real value for money

The online reservation for 2 people was uncomplicated. When visiting on site, the entrance could be a little better marked. It is a room that was a bit tight in places in terms of seating. The two tables for two are separated by a fireplace (?) column. The service, prices and food were good. The atmosphere is quite dark and sometimes stuffy. This can be improved with a better ventilation system. Both the smell of cooking and the greasy air mixture settle on many things. The floor, the menus stuck easily. This is also repeated in the toilets. Reservations are recommended here as we noticed that guests who came in without a reservation (Saturday, early evening) were not given a table.

Food tasteless, service totally unfriendly. Great restaurant, atmosphere very disturbed by party music and constant phone calls from the kitchen. The food is very tasteless. I know a lot about Asian food because we lived there for a while, cook a lot of Asian food and really enjoy eating it. This doesn't even meet the standard of a snack bar. The service was annoyed and unfriendly (rolled his eyes) when we mentioned this. Soy sauce was given to us as a solution. Neither pasta dishes nor starters such as summer rolls are recommended. Dumplings were from a package from the Asian supermarket. Save your money and spend it in other great restaurants in Dortmund.

Nice ambience with modern interior design. Always entertaining as other reviews report authenticity of the dishes, although this is rarely the case. I ordered Pho Bo (beef), a few makis and green gornet. The meal took a while (approx. 25 minutes), but the only service was very friendly and overwhelmed at the same time. Green Hornet doesn't live up to the price at all. Half an overly sweet avocado with two small breaded shrimps (frozen!?) for €6 was a big disappointment, also in terms of taste! By the way: Never seen it in Vietnam! I thought there would be a new modern, creative fusion dish here, but no! The portion of the Pho is reasonable! The broth tastes authentic and has a well-rounded taste. I prefer the herbs, chilies and lemon separately and fresh on a plate so that I can add them to the Pho myself, but unfortunately that wasn't the case here. The beef, on the other hand, was unfortunately tough and not edible. So unfortunately I only enjoyed the Pho half-heartedly. Regarding the makis: the rice was a little lacking in acidity (mirin) and was also far too dry, so that they fell apart, but of course on a nice plate and beautifully presented. I always thought ordering sushi at a combo restaurant was a bad idea... For me, it's another Asian combo restaurant (Vietnamese/Japanese) that offers rather mediocre food with modern and aesthetic furnishings and equipment. My standards for Asian food are very high, so I won't visit this restaurant again.

The rating is purely for the sushi, they are not tasty. They were also twisted very poorly, they all fell apart. If you like the taste of Philadelphia in sushi, forget it, even though the menu says there is cheese inside, in fact, I couldn’t even see it. We ate two different fried noodles and they had snack quality. Never again.

We each had 1 soup as a starter, both were really tasty!!! A Coconut Love (the name really fits 😋) and a wonton soup. Totally ok in terms of size and price. I then had sushi, which was delicious, and my husband had a bowl with noodles, vegetables and meat. Both were fantastic too. With 2 drinks we only had to pay 43 euros for good quality and very good food! Thanks for that and I haven't eaten this Coconut Love for the last time 😋😋

We have been going to Qubi regularly for about 1.5 years. Everyone will find something on the menu (there is even a dedicated veggie menu). The service is super friendly and attentive. The portion sizes have not become smaller either, as written in some comments here. The food is also very nicely prepared. We will continue to enjoy going there.

Hello We were at Qubis Dortmund today. The food was really outstanding. As a starter, a coconut curry chicken soup with fresh vegetables. I've never had such a great soup before. The main course was fried sushi with salmon and tuna. Furthermore, a chicken peanut/coconut also with delicious, great-smelling rice and fresh vegetables. Service super polite! I just have to recommend this restaurant. First cream!

I had the vegetarian main course with dumplings, vegetables, tofu and sweet potatoes for 18 euros. What I got was really outrageous, I had fries in the main course?!?!?! Simply mixed into the sauce?!?!!?! The service wasn't good and it wasn't really clean either. It may be that the shop was in its heyday and I have no idea whether the owner changed in between, so I don't recommend it. Seldom eaten so badly.

The Vietnamese staff took good care of us. Because it's close to Thailand, right? It was great to talk to. There weren't many people in the afternoon, so I felt like I was a VIP customer and didn't order a lot of food. Stories from those of us who ate a little All three are delicious.

The Qu Bi is not recommended in any way: the tables are sticky which is very unpleasant when eating. In addition, our dishes (for 3 people) came with a delay. Furthermore, the food didn't taste good. The soybeans were no longer fresh. All dishes tasted bland and very strongly of glutamate. The service was understaffed despite the weekend. We don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Nice ambience and the udon noodle dishes are awesome! However, the curry (at least with mango) was a bit run of the mill. Still delicious, of course! Good quality and fresh food. It's hard to decide what you want to eat because everything sounds excellent. The only drawback: due to a lack of service staff, the food sits on the "pick-up counter" for a relatively long time and is therefore no longer hot. Still a very tasty meal in an authentic atmosphere.

We were there yesterday, September 17, 24, at around 5 p.m. At first glance, the dining room seemed quite elegant, but upon closer inspection it didn't seem very well maintained. The staff was very friendly. But I find it inappropriate that the person who serves the drinks sits at the table in front of the counter with the laptop, next to a large plastic box with cutlery that is distributed from it. The food was very, very tasty and also very nicely presented. Both starter and main course arrived after just a few minutes - there is a large window from the dining room to the kitchen through which you can see that the food is prepared there, but not how, i.e. whether fresh products are used and how neat the work surfaces are are. My previously very positive impression turned into the complete opposite when I had to go to the toilet. I've never seen such bad toilets in a restaurant. The flush buttons gave the impression that they hadn't even been wiped down in weeks. The toilet seat hinges looked like they had been in the ocean for 20 years and like a coral reef had settled on them. It was really disgusting and an absolute disgrace. The question immediately arose in my mind as to how hygienic things might be in the kitchen. This absolutely ruined everything for me, which is why I won't visit this restaurant a second time. Even though the food tasted good, the aftertaste is too disgusting for me.

Unfriendly and inattentive service, you can't even order properly without the waiter moving straight to the next table after two words. Portions were tiny for the price, almost half of our starters and main courses consisted of raw vegetable salad. We really liked it here two years ago, today we were there for the last time.

I visited this restaurant one evening while on business in Dortmund. If you walk through you come out at the other end on the in-house “terrace”. The food I ordered tasted very tasty. I went here based in the reviews but I was very disappointed. The food is nothing special, portions are low (they fill your plate with salad..). The staff vibe is very bad, they look like nobody wants to work there. I waited 20 minutes before anybody even asked for my order (the place is half empty so no excuses). The service was also poor (they did not even put cutlery on my table, I had to go pick it up myself). And the place looks nice until you check the details... Like the splashes of soup crusted on the walls right next to your face when you are eating.. I went for lunch, they have a 9.90€ menu... Even for that super low price the whole deal is not worth it. I got dumplings and udon. 2/4 dumplings where still frozen on the inside, disgusting. The noodles where swimming in a low quality sauce that leaves you with a bad chemical aftertaste, everything feels like they open a plastic package, threw it in a pan or microwave and serve it out. I seriously do not understand all the positive reviews. I'm not picky at all, I'm in Dortmund for work and I just needed a quick bite, but this place does not live up to it's facade. Suggestion for the owners: - struggling with inflation? Raise your prices, don't lower your food quality and be in a bad mood all the time. - groom your team's vibe, that sometimes can help subsidize the cheap food. Will not come back, not recommended

A pure disaster!! Very unfriendly staff, pure chaos, tables are not cleared let alone wiped properly and looking behind the drinks counter makes you feel sick. We had to wait 55 minutes for our order to be taken and when we asked the waiter to come to us with a friendly hand gesture, he was extremely unfriendly and seemed annoyed. When our drinks and food were brought to our table, the waiter's fingers were over the edge of our dishes, very unappetizing! The food was inedible both visually and in taste!

The QuBi is a great restaurant in downtown Dortmund. The food was really delicious and the price-performance ratio was right. There is also a very large selection for vegetarians and vegans. All in all, the service could have been a little more attentive and we would definitely have drunk a little more, but that's complaining at a high level.

When we arrived the restaurant was overcrowded with tables and busy. We hadn’t reserved as we are travelling so we were asked if we minded sitting out back in the garden. This was no issue, however having to squeeze between tables to get to the garden with my bum almost in someone’s meal wasn’t ideal. When we sat down we were ignored for atleast 20 minutes before my wife went inside to ask if we could get some menus (we had been forgotten about) I had ordered some chicken wings as a starter, there was no marinade or anything on them. They tasted exactly the same as the frozen bags you can buy in a supermarket, with a sauce so weak it may as well be water. For my main course I ordered udon noodles with wok vegetables and beef. Around 2 hours after arrival, we finally received our main dishes. Unfortunately the quality was so poor I didn’t eat it, the noodles were overcooked and oily, there were about 3 pieces of vegetable in my dish and the beef was literally tasteless rubber, also I found a random piece of chicken inside. It also didn’t help that they had one waitress for the entire restaurant and outside. 0/10 would not recommend even to my worst enemy.

The dining experience oscillated between mediocrity and disappointment, while the service hit rock bottom. Our explicit special requests were met with indifference; giving up peanuts in particular seemed to be an insurmountable challenge. The service staff presented a remarkable feat of unmotivation, even though the restaurant was sparsely occupied with just 12 guests. Their lack of interest topped it all off and gave us the feeling that we were more of a nuisance than welcome as guests. A truly memorably bad visit.

Wir waren spontan gestern dort essen. Das Restaurant macht von außen eine großen Eindruck aber von innen ist es doch Recht klein. Die Tische standen sehr eng zusammen. Das Essen, welches die anderen Gäste hatten, sah sehr gut aus (nicht der Standart Chinagarden TK müll). Uns würde ein Tisch zugewiesen und da wir nicht reserviert haben wäre der Tisch für 1 ½h für uns. War auch kein Problem, da wir eh weiter wollten. Die Bedienung war echt die härte 😃 schluffte daher, Baggy Hose an, Haare offen, ging mit einen Fleisch Spieß zu den Gästen den sie dabei gegessen hat. Unsere Bestellung nahm sie Wiederkäuermodus entgegen. Ne glatte 6 , scheinbar aber auch die Tochter des Inhabers. Essen war aufjedefall besser als das Stabstart essen der ganzen "billigen" allyoucan läden aber auch nicht ganz so gut wie zb das koya in Paderborn. Geschmeckt hat es natürlich Das Essen hätte für mich glatte 4 Punkte bekommen aber aufgrund der Bedienung gab's dann nur faire 3 Punkte

I was only able to order because I had loaded the menu using a QR code; no one offered a real menu. 1.5 hours until I had something to eat. There was a joke about whether you should do the tap yourself. The portion was pitiful and the amount of meat ordered was poor. It doesn't taste any different at the snack bar either. Awful. The store was full, there was only one lady in service, the kitchen was overwhelmed, and the delivery service also picked up in between. The store is not worth the reviews online.

The “good” first: the food wasn’t bad, but not necessarily better than elsewhere. However, the service was disastrous. Not only did it take forever to get our food, but we didn't get it together. So while my dish was getting cold, my wife had to wait for the food. We had to ask several times until everyone (wife, son and I) finally got the food. We only got one of the two desserts we ordered. Questions pointless. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience. You don't have to go out for this service. We won't be back and can't recommend the restaurant either.

Das Restaurant ist klein und die Tische stehen teilweise sehr eng und die 2er Tische sind wirklich klein.. Das Essen kam recht zügig-leider Vorspeisen( waren auch als Vorspeise bestellt) gemeinsam mit den Hauptgerichten so dass kaum Platz auf dem Tisch für unsre Gläser war. Der Geschmack war gut-wenngleich der Pfiff fehlte. Da wir alle Speisen gleichzeitig bekommen haben war einiges beim Essen bereits nicht mehr richtig warm. Alles in Allem okay

Quite rightly well attended. The menus are extensive, lovingly prepared and yet reasonably priced. The juice spritzers are also very tasty. The staff is friendly and can handle large numbers of visitors despite the small staff. The only downside: the fried onions were obviously not freshly prepared, and the distance between the tables was kept sparingly, which meant that the conversation at the table suffered somewhat when the restaurant was full. Otherwise everything was great, clear recommendation.

Super lecker. Bisher schmeckte mir alles mehr als gut. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich, die Terrasse ist im Sommer eine kleine Wohlfühl- Oase für die Mittagspause. Probiert mal den süßen, thailändischen Kaffee als Nachtisch. Und wie immer: bist du nett zu den Kellnern, sind sie nett zu dir.

Den Mittagstisch fand ich nicht gut: der kleine Suppenteller nur halbvoll, das Hauptgericht wurde mit viel Blattsalat und wenig anderen Zutaten (wenig Fleisch, wenig Nudeln) serviert. Hier wird es richtig gespart… Schade… Der Service war nichts besonders und die Ambiente ist ok. Die Tische stehen sehr nah zu einander, man hört alles am Nachbartisch.

Das Qubi habe ich in meine Liste vegan in Dortmund aufgenommen. Bei Eröffnung gab es nicht eine handvoll pflanzlicher vollwertiger Mahlzeiten. Nun gibt es eine ganze dedizierte Karte mit einem wunderschönen Einleitungstext. Geschmacklich ist es sehr gut, die Zutaten sind frisch. Die offene Küche trägt zum Vertrauen bei. Wir bestellten eine Reihe von Vorspeisen und zwei Hauptgerichte sowie Getränke. Mit Trinkgeld kamen wir auf etwa 50 Euro, insofern ist das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis sehr angemessen. Wir genossen unser Essen unter freiem Himmel im Innenhof. Das Ambiente sehr schön, besonders abends mit den Lampions. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, sprachlich ist die Verständigung noch ok. Jedoch ist das Restaurant mit einer Person im Service unterbesetzt.

Mittagstisch 9,90 mit Vorspeise ( unfassbar ) Ich hatte als Vorspeise die Miso Suppe und als Hauptgericht , rotes Curry mit Salat , Gemüse und gebackenem Hähnchen. Alles SEHR lecker und die Portion ist groß, bin mehr als satt . Service aufmerksam und nett . Die offene Küche sehr sauber , bei den Toiletten ist noch Luft nach oben . Meiner Meinung nach war es einer der besten Lokale in denen ich seit langem war. Die Speisekarte war sehr groß , auch was die Vorspeisen betrifft ! Man konnte sich kaum entscheiden. Für uns war die Wan tan Suppe geschmacklich wirklich sehr lecker🤩! Die dumplings waren auch wirklich gut. Mundgerecht geschnitten , nicht zu groß,nicht zu klein. Die Sommerrollen waren auch lecker , nur für mich etwas zu trocken. Zu den Hauptgerichten kann man nichts Falsches sagen. Sehr großzügige Portionen und wirklich sehr lecker.Leider waren wir viel zu voll um ein Dessert zu probieren, aber bestimmt beim nächsten mal.Auch preislich sind wir mehr als zufrieden gewesen 🙏☺️

Wir waren Samstags gegen 14:00Uhr Gast im QuBi. Die Sommerroll wurden mit CurryDip (?) serviert und mein Mango-Curry mit Hähnchen war eine recht große und schön angerichtete Portion - enthielt bzw schmeckte jedoch nicht nach Mango. Verglichen mit dem Roten-Curry und Erdnuss-Curry zweier Freunde sah alles gleich aus. Es war lecker, preislich angemessen - jedoch nicht was ich gehofft habe zu bekommen. Um ehrlich zu sein, war ich (vermutlich wegen des Internetauftritt und den dortigen Fotos von Getränken und Speisen) etwas voreingenommen bzw. schlussendlich etwas enttäuscht. Aufgrund des fehlenden Wow-Restauranterlebnisses würden wir zukünftig ein anderes der vielen Restaurants besuchen. Obwohl, dem Sushi würden wir noch eine Chance geben. 12-16Uhr gibts 10% Rabatt, so ein Aushang - nettes Angebot.

Hallo, Das Qubi lässt sich gut vom Parkhaus Friedensplatz erreichen mit ca. 4 min Fußweg. Das Ambiente ist gut und der Service war auch in Ordnung. Ich hatte zur Vorspeise eine Summer Roll mit Granelen. Würde ich das nächste mal nicht mit bestellen da ich sie nicht rausschmecken konnte. Somit kann ich auch die veggi Variante nehmen die ist günstiger ;). Als Hauptgericht habe ich wie immer beim Vietnamesen ein Pho bestellt. Ich muss sagen das, dass Pho dort nicht das stärkste war was ich bisher gegessen habe. Sonst habe ich die Kräuter auch immer separat bekommen. Finde das schon wichtig weil Beispielsweise Koriander nicht jedermanns Sache ist meins schon aber eben nicht von jedem. Alles in allem war es aber schon für mich eine ganz gutes Pho :).
