Qubi in Dortmund

I've been there several times; the food is good, but unfortunately, it's always very warm and stuffy inside. And if you want to sit outside when the weather isn't great, that's not possible. If it's raining a bit, is that okay? Since the smoke from the kitchen drifts into the restaurant, it's unpleasant for people sensitive to heat. Therefore, you stay relatively short, which is a shame. The conditions are sometimes so-so. It would be nice if you didn't get your starter and main course at the same time. That has happened before. I hope things will improve with the ventilation and lighting.

We went there today with friends – they each had a bowl, I had sushi, and some appetizers. Everything was incredibly delicious, fresh, and lovingly prepared. The owner and his family are incredibly warm and friendly; you immediately feel welcome. Highly recommended!

Food was excellent. Server could have smiled a little bit more and he also brought out my main course before I had finished my starter. Lucky I was just on my last mouthful:) However the service was quick and I will definitely be back again

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed during our last visit to your restaurant. We ordered a Hibiscus Kiss and specifically asked if it was served with fizz. The server confirmed this, but brought the drink without fizz. When we politely asked for a replacement, he reacted loudly, shouting, and claiming it was "very, very strong fizz." We felt disrespected and taken for a fool. Additionally, we had to wait over an hour for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't even full despite having a reservation. Overall, our experience with you was very disappointing: unfriendly and disrespectful service, incorrect information about drinks, and an unreasonable wait for the food.

Simply disrespectful. I ordered a vegetarian pho and immediately realized it was chicken broth. It's even labeled as vegetarian, and there's no mention of it in the information section. I couldn't reach anyone by phone, and there was no response to my voicemail message 😡😤

The service was clearly overwhelmed, loud, and unfriendly; it was probably the manager taking charge himself. The food was of poor quality, the ingredients weren't fresh, some of the sushi rice was still hard, the tuna smelled unpleasant and was served skin-thin, and the shrimp were extremely dry. I don't recommend this restaurant! And it used to be a good sushi restaurant, based on what I gathered from the old reviews, but that's unfortunately in the past.

Nice little restaurant. Interesting menu. We had teriyake salmon and the salmon sushi platter and shared. A perfect combination. There's a small beer garden in the courtyard. Parking is a bit limited, as it's downtown.

The wrong food was brought and we didn't take it back. I then ordered something else and had the other one packed. The waiter then got upset and told the two cooks as if our complaint was ridiculous. We just wanted green curry and not red curry. We have often eaten green curry, but it was definitely red. The red curry was too spicy, the paste was too much and there was hardly any sauce. We had been to this restaurant several times before and everything was good and the owner was friendly. No idea what happened. He was also passive aggressive when he gave me the new dish. I added the Qubi to my vegan list in Dortmund. When it opened, there weren't a handful of whole plant-based meals available. Now there is a whole dedicated card with a beautiful introductory text. The taste is very good and the ingredients are fresh. The open kitchen adds to the confidence. We ordered a number of starters and two main courses as well as drinks. With a tip we came to around 50 euros, so the price/performance ratio is very reasonable. We enjoyed our meal al fresco in the courtyard. The atmosphere is very nice, especially in the evening with the lanterns. The service is friendly, the language communication is still ok. However, the restaurant is understaffed with one person serving.

The dumplings were particularly disappointing: extremely expensive and obviously from the freezer. Charging full price for something like this is just outrageous. The waiter was extremely rude. When paying, he didn't even say the amount, he just held out his hand and just said "Give" - ​​disrespectful and completely unprofessional. We had lunch there on Saturday. When we came in it was very empty, we thought it would be much more crowded due to the many videos on the internet. The waiter was a bit snooty, in our opinion. My friend had chicken with noodles and vegetables but she didn't like the orange broth that had collected at the bottom of her plate. I had vegetarian pho with tofu. The soup was hardly seasoned and the chili slices that came with it were not spicy. Unfortunately there were no spices at the table to season. Even though the portion was very large for the price, I wasn't completely satisfied. Since we don't come from Dortmund, we probably won't visit this restaurant again.

The online reservation for 2 people was uncomplicated. When visiting on site, the entrance could be a little better marked. It is a room that was a bit tight in places in terms of seating. The two tables for two are separated by a fireplace (?) column. The service, prices and food were good. The atmosphere is quite dark and sometimes stuffy. This can be improved with a better ventilation system. Both the smell of cooking and the greasy air mixture settle on many things. The floor, the menus stuck easily. This is also repeated in the toilets. Reservations are recommended here as we noticed that guests who came in without a reservation (Saturday, early evening) were not given a table.

I know a lot about Asian food because we lived there for a while, cook a lot of Asian food and really enjoy eating it. This doesn't even meet the standard of a snack bar. The service was annoyed and unfriendly (rolled his eyes) when we mentioned this. Soy sauce was given to us as a solution. Neither pasta dishes nor starters such as summer rolls are recommended. Dumplings were from a package from the Asian supermarket. Save your money and spend it in other great restaurants in Dortmund.

Nice ambience with modern interior design. Always entertaining as other reviews report authenticity of the dishes, although this is rarely the case. I ordered Pho Bo (beef), a few makis and green gornet. The meal took a while (approx. 25 minutes), but the only service was very friendly and overwhelmed at the same time. Green Hornet doesn't live up to the price at all. Half an overly sweet avocado with two small breaded shrimps (frozen!?) for €6 was a big disappointment, also in terms of taste! By the way: Never seen it in Vietnam! I thought there would be a new modern, creative fusion dish here, but no! The portion of the Pho is reasonable! The broth tastes authentic and has a well-rounded taste. I prefer the herbs, chilies and lemon separately and fresh on a plate so that I can add them to the Pho myself, but unfortunately that wasn't the case here. The beef, on the other hand, was unfortunately tough and not edible. So unfortunately I only enjoyed the Pho half-heartedly. Regarding the makis: the rice was a little lacking in acidity (mirin) and was also far too dry, so that they fell apart, but of course on a nice plate and beautifully presented. I always thought ordering sushi at a combo restaurant was a bad idea... For me, it's another Asian combo restaurant (Vietnamese/Japanese) that offers rather mediocre food with modern and aesthetic furnishings and equipment. My standards for Asian food are very high, so I won't visit this restaurant again.

We each had 1 soup as a starter, both were really tasty!!! A Coconut Love (the name really fits 😋) and a wonton soup. Totally ok in terms of size and price. I then had sushi, which was delicious, and my husband had a bowl with noodles, vegetables and meat. Both were fantastic too. With 2 drinks we only had to pay 43 euros for good quality and very good food! Thanks for that and I haven't eaten this Coconut Love for the last time 😋😋

We have been going to Qubi regularly for about 1.5 years. Everyone will find something on the menu (there is even a dedicated veggie menu). The service is super friendly and attentive. The portion sizes have not become smaller either, as written in some comments here. The food is also very nicely prepared. We will continue to enjoy going there.

Hello We were at Qubis Dortmund today. The food was really outstanding. As a starter, a coconut curry chicken soup with fresh vegetables. I've never had such a great soup before. The main course was fried sushi with salmon and tuna. Furthermore, a chicken peanut/coconut also with delicious, great-smelling rice and fresh vegetables. Service super polite! I just have to recommend this restaurant. First cream!

Simply mixed into the sauce?!?!!?! The service wasn't good and it wasn't really clean either. The soybeans were no longer fresh. All dishes tasted bland and very strongly of glutamate. The service was understaffed despite the weekend. We don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Nice ambience and the udon noodle dishes are awesome! However, the curry (at least with mango) was a bit run of the mill. Still delicious, of course! Good quality and fresh food. It's hard to decide what you want to eat because everything sounds excellent. The only drawback: due to a lack of service staff, the food sits on the "pick-up counter" for a relatively long time and is therefore no longer hot. Still a very tasty meal in an authentic atmosphere.

We were there yesterday, September 17, 24, at around 5 p.m. At first glance, the dining room seemed quite elegant, but upon closer inspection it didn't seem very well maintained. The staff was very friendly. But I find it inappropriate that the person who serves the drinks sits at the table in front of the counter with the laptop, next to a large plastic box with cutlery that is distributed from it. The food was very, very tasty and also very nicely presented. Both starter and main course arrived after just a few minutes - there is a large window from the dining room to the kitchen through which you can see that the food is prepared there, but not how, i.e. whether fresh products are used and how neat the work surfaces are are. My previously very positive impression turned into the complete opposite when I had to go to the toilet. I've never seen such bad toilets in a restaurant. The flush buttons gave the impression that they hadn't even been wiped down in weeks. The toilet seat hinges looked like they had been in the ocean for 20 years and like a coral reef had settled on them. It was really disgusting and an absolute disgrace. The question immediately arose in my mind as to how hygienic things might be in the kitchen. This absolutely ruined everything for me, which is why I won't visit this restaurant a second time. Even though the food tasted good, the aftertaste is too disgusting for me.

Portions were tiny for the price, almost half of our starters and main courses consisted of raw vegetable salad. We really liked it here two years ago, today we were there for the last time.

I visited this restaurant one evening while on business in Dortmund. If you walk through you come out at the other end on the in-house “terrace”. The food I ordered tasted very tasty. I went here based in the reviews but I was very disappointed. The food is nothing special, portions are low (they fill your plate with salad..). The staff vibe is very bad, they look like nobody wants to work there. I waited 20 minutes before anybody even asked for my order (the place is half empty so no excuses). The service was also poor (they did not even put cutlery on my table, I had to go pick it up myself). And the place looks nice until you check the details... Like the splashes of soup crusted on the walls right next to your face when you are eating.. I went for lunch, they have a 9.90€ menu... Even for that super low price the whole deal is not worth it. I got dumplings and udon. 2/4 dumplings where still frozen on the inside, disgusting. The noodles where swimming in a low quality sauce that leaves you with a bad chemical aftertaste, everything feels like they open a plastic package, threw it in a pan or microwave and serve it out. I seriously do not understand all the positive reviews. I'm not picky at all, I'm in Dortmund for work and I just needed a quick bite, but this place does not live up to it's facade. Suggestion for the owners: - struggling with inflation? Raise your prices, don't lower your food quality and be in a bad mood all the time. - groom your team's vibe, that sometimes can help subsidize the cheap food. Will not come back, not recommended

A pure disaster!! Very unfriendly staff, pure chaos, tables are not cleared let alone wiped properly and looking behind the drinks counter makes you feel sick. We had to wait 55 minutes for our order to be taken and when we asked the waiter to come to us with a friendly hand gesture, he was extremely unfriendly and seemed annoyed. When our drinks and food were brought to our table, the waiter's fingers were over the edge of our dishes, very unappetizing! The food was inedible both visually and in taste!

The QuBi is a great restaurant in downtown Dortmund. The food was really delicious and the price-performance ratio was right. There is also a very large selection for vegetarians and vegans. Extreme waiting times. Duck meat was of subpar quality. Summer rolls are good. The extra we ordered was not delivered despite repeated requests, but was billed for.

When we arrived the restaurant was overcrowded with tables and busy. We hadn’t reserved as we are travelling so we were asked if we minded sitting out back in the garden. This was no issue, however having to squeeze between tables to get to the garden with my bum almost in someone’s meal wasn’t ideal. When we sat down we were ignored for atleast 20 minutes before my wife went inside to ask if we could get some menus (we had been forgotten about) I had ordered some chicken wings as a starter, there was no marinade or anything on them. They tasted exactly the same as the frozen bags you can buy in a supermarket, with a sauce so weak it may as well be water. For my main course I ordered udon noodles with wok vegetables and beef. Around 2 hours after arrival, we finally received our main dishes. Unfortunately the quality was so poor I didn’t eat it, the noodles were overcooked and oily, there were about 3 pieces of vegetable in my dish and the beef was literally tasteless rubber, also I found a random piece of chicken inside. It also didn’t help that they had one waitress for the entire restaurant and outside. 0/10 would not recommend even to my worst enemy.

Our explicit special requests were met with indifference; giving up peanuts in particular seemed to be an insurmountable challenge. The service staff presented a remarkable feat of unmotivation, even though the restaurant was sparsely occupied with just 12 guests. Wir waren spontan gestern dort essen. Das Restaurant macht von außen eine großen Eindruck aber von innen ist es doch Recht klein. Die Tische standen sehr eng zusammen. Das Essen, welches die anderen Gäste hatten, sah sehr gut aus (nicht der Standart Chinagarden TK müll). Uns würde ein Tisch zugewiesen und da wir nicht reserviert haben wäre der Tisch für 1 ½h für uns. War auch kein Problem, da wir eh weiter wollten. Die Bedienung war echt die härte 😃 schluffte daher, Baggy Hose an, Haare offen, ging mit einen Fleisch Spieß zu den Gästen den sie dabei gegessen hat. Unsere Bestellung nahm sie Wiederkäuermodus entgegen. Ne glatte 6 , scheinbar aber auch die Tochter des Inhabers. Essen war aufjedefall besser als das Stabstart essen der ganzen "billigen" allyoucan läden aber auch nicht ganz so gut wie zb das koya in Paderborn. Geschmeckt hat es natürlich Das Essen hätte für mich glatte 4 Punkte bekommen aber aufgrund der Bedienung gab's dann nur faire 3 Punkte
