A really lovely, cozy, and charming little restaurant. The grilled sausages are fantastic, and the owner is so nice – simply wonderful. We felt completely at ease. 12 out of 10 points. Excellent, please keep it up!

The bratwurst was very good, but the so-called "shashlik" was absolutely terrible (square pressed meat on a stick, without onions, without peppers, without sauce, some of the meat was undercooked, expensive).

Nicht bedient, nicht beachtet, enttäuscht gegangen. Trotz leerem Lokal wurde ich ignoriert, kein Service, kein Wort, keine Aufmerksamkeit. Andere Gäste kamen später und wurden sofort bedient. Nach 40 Minuten und einem Blick auf Sauerkraut aus der Plastikbox reichte es. Kommentar beim Gehen: „Sie hätten sich melden müssen.“ Nein – in einem Restaurant sollte der Service kommen. Nie wieder.

Served for not being served – a disappointing visit to the "Doppelsitzer" Around 6 p.m., I visited the "Doppelsitzer" in Oberhof – hungry and looking forward to dinner. There were only three customers besides me. A greeting? Cold and completely unfriendly. My non-alcoholic beer was placed before me without a word, then the owner disappeared again to chat with acquaintances outside. The menu was in front of me, I was ready to order – but: I was ignored. For a full 30 minutes. Not a glance, not a question, nothing. New guests arrived and were promptly served. I continued sitting there – in front of my empty bottle – and wondered if anyone even noticed me. After 40 minutes, my appetite was gone – at the very latest when the owner started scooping sauerkraut from a large plastic container into a smaller one and then putting it in the microwave. When I was paying, the owner's only response to my complaint was that I should have raised my hand. Seriously? In a restaurant? No thanks. Bottom line: No smile, no attention, no service—nothing at all. Anyone who treats guests like this shouldn't be surprised by the lack of business. I certainly won't be coming back.

It is a small, rustic pub completely dedicated to winter sports. The innkeepers are very friendly and attentive and always find a solution to find a place. The menu is small, but typical Thuringian dishes. The grill plate, for example, is great.

Eine sehr gemütliche Kneipe. Wir hatten uns für Rostbratwurst mit Kartoffelsalat entschieden .Es hat gut geschmeckt. Sehr nette Bedienung.

As part of our motorcycle tour we ended up in Oberhof. The restaurant in the Panorama Hotel was fully booked. So we strolled towards the market square to find something to eat. We looked in the double seater - unfortunately everything was full. We stood outside for a few minutes and were already about to leave when the landlord called after us... people are just paying, a table for 4 is free! Great, then let's go to the pub! Cool atmosphere, everything really rustic. Of course we were hungry. We didn't need a huge selection. The grill plate caught our eye! We noticed the warm grill at the entrance... and lo and behold... our order was freshly prepared there. A little small talk and a round of beer - we had arrived. The taste of the food was amazing. We were recommended to drink blueberry schnapps for digestion... it didn't stop at just one! Satisfied, we paid the bill. The landlord is a biker himself and gave us a few good tips for the journey home! Thank you for your hospitality - see you again soon. All the best and stay healthy!!!!

Over the last 30 years we have enjoyed visiting Oberhof from time to time. One of the first points of contact was always the Doppelsitzer, a really rustic pub with a great concept, a purely family business. The small restaurant is beautifully decorated. Everything is reminiscent of East German winter sports and their legends. People come here primarily to drink beer, including the locals. We also like to enjoy one or two small dishes with delicacies from Thuringia, such as the delicious bratwurst or a tasty roast sausage. Both come fresh from the grill, whether summer or winter. We enjoyed the homemade potato salad and sauerkraut again this time. The portions are decent. My husband also wanted sauerkraut to go with the bratwurst and potato salad, which of course wasn't a problem at all. We were served friendly. The prices are okay for the area. We say thank you.

Price/performance is not right at all. My dish: quantity was not listed. 1 shashlik spit with unfortunately three dried-out slices of bread for just under 10 euros is just too much for me. It's a shame we won't come back.

Our review from 2022 remains valid - after a new visit in May 2024: Cozy, rustic pub (reservation recommended) with simple but delicious Thuringian home cooking at fair prices. Very nice and attentive operators/hosts. Absolutely recommended.

It doesn't just say "Rustic" here, it's one hundred percent true. You immediately feel comfortable and at home. The staff makes the whole thing even more perfect. The only downside was that we only found it on the last evening and didn't have much time to spend. Next time in Oberhof it will be our first destination. We're looking forward to it.😃👍

We wanted to have a drink there on New Year's Eve after the fireworks. There were obviously places available but we were sent out with the explanation "we don't have space". They didn't want to entertain us - then they didn't - it was a mistake.

Urgemütliche Kneipe. Die Getränke waren super und das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Absolute Empfehlung.

Bester Glühwein ( hausgemacht ) den ich getrunken habe, müsst ihr unbedingt probieren. Klein aber sehr gemütlich und mit sportlich historischem Inventar ausgestattet.

Tolle urige Kneipe, wo auch endlich der Hund mit rein durfte. Sehr gemütlich mit vielen Relikten aus der Wintersportzeit.

Tolles Ambiente. Kleine Karte , sehr übersichtlich, aber sehr gut. Diese urige Kneipe sollte man gesehen haben.

Sehr schönes uriges Ambiente, rustikale Thüringer Küche, die schmeckt, und eine große Auswahl an Getränken. Die Preise sind angemessen, teils sogar günstig. Die beiden Betreiber sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich durfte mein Smartphone nach einer langen Radtour in der Gaststätte laden. Ich komme gern wieder.

Uns ist es bei drei Aufenthalten im Oberhof trotz mehrfacher Veruche nicht gelungen, dort ein Platz zu bekommen. Absolut unfreundliche Ansagen. Auch Tische, die erst in 2,5 Stunden reserviert waren, wurden nicht belegt. Nie wieder.

Schön, rustikal, urige Deko und gutes Essen. Freundliche Bedienung. Hunde sind willkommen.

Der Doppelsitzer heißt "Die urige Kneipe". Und genau das ist es auch. Wir waren gestern da, war urig, gemütlich, angenehm. Kleine Karte vom Grill, reicht aber völlig. Wer also kein Schickimicki braucht, ist hier perfekt aufgehoben.

Von den Speisen bis zum Service alles so wie es sein soll, wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Seid über 20 Jahren Tradition für uns! Immer wenn wir in Oberhof sind müssen wir mind. 1 Abend dort verbringen. Und wenn Biathlon ist treffen wir auch immer bekannte Gesichter 😀 Der Doppelsitzer ist sehr beliebt. Eigentlich ist es dort immer voll.

Wir waren auf Empfehlung dort, haben aber nur was getrunken. Das Ambiente ist wirklich absolut urig und gemütlich. Alles wurde mit viel Liebe gestaltet.

Haben hier, während unseren 10-Tage "Rennsteig-im-Winter" Projekt, 2 Abenden in Dezember gegessen. Die Karte ist klein, aber die Gerichte total lecker und genau nach unserem Geschmack. Die Ambiente des Lokals hat uns gut gefallen. Ein Punkt wird beim Service abgezogen: man kann nur mit Karte zahlen falls man das VORHER angibt. Der Wirt fragt das nicht beim öffnen der Bestellung noch steht es in der Karte. Sonst gerne wieder (wir wissen es jetzt)

Leuke bruine kroeg. Klein maar erg geliefd bij de lokale mensen. Het is een soort eetcafe met een beperkte kaart maar wel regio gerechten.
