I've eaten at the Döner King on Hildesheimer Straße in Hanover several times – both dining in and ordering delivery. Unfortunately, the food quality varies greatly depending on who's working in the kitchen. I've experienced everything from 2 to 5 stars. During my last visit (or rather, my last order), there was again cause for complaint: the food was mostly cold, the fries weren't cooked through, and the salad consisted almost entirely of onions. This is especially disappointing because I've experienced that everything can be perfect – when the right staff is working. Then the taste, temperature, and texture are truly excellent. Another problem is that requests or comments regarding delivery orders are often ignored. For example, it's important to me that the fries are crispy – unfortunately, this is frequently overlooked. At least when eating in, you have the opportunity to speak up directly, which I would recommend. On the other hand, the service at the restaurant is always friendly and attentive, which somewhat redeems the overall impression. Nevertheless, I can only give the restaurant 3 out of 5 stars. Recommendation: If you want to eat there, you should order on site – then the chance of getting a good meal is significantly higher.

When I ate there with a colleague for the first time there was a piece of plastic in the kebab and the staff was also unfriendly and they thought I did not understand their language because I asked them if they also had kebab pizza and they answered in Kurdish what DÖNER PIZZA

I was a regular customer for over 10 years. The food was never outstanding, but it was okay. The portions were very large for comparatively little money. Unfortunately, the food gradually got worse, less and more expensive, and no longer worth the price. Today, unfortunately, my girlfriend brought me something from there for the first time in a long time. The portions are still too small, and the prices are like everywhere else. The salad (coleslaw) tasted too much of vinegar or something else. The onions tasted slightly bitter. Far too little meat! No good sauces. No fresh or homemade bread. Baklava tasted disgusting. Extremely greasy, sweet, and somehow like an old deep fryer, which also ended up in the trash! Last but not least, I also had stomach problems that evening. The wait time today was very short, which is also rather unusual. The staff are mostly friendly. The atmosphere has improved after the renovation.

I've eaten there several times in the weekday evenings over the past few weeks. Even though it was a bit late, the quality was still top-notch! A place that consistently maintains its quality is highly recommended!

Well, I know this kebab differently. It used to be called a Berliner kebab, and it was delicious. This one today was just like any other, nothing special. I understand some of the other reviews that say it's supposed to be so great. It's incomprehensible. They also forgot the rice in the box :(

The doner kebab was great... the meat was very tasty and the vegetables were crisp and fresh. The only thing that bothered me was that the tables weren't clean. Every table outside was covered in leftover vegetables or had greasy marks on it. I'd still gladly come back.

Today we ordered lahmacun, dürüm, and döner for about 15 people via Lieferando. The delivery was 1.5 hours late. As a result, the food was soggy and barely edible. Very disappointing – we won't order from here again and unfortunately cannot recommend the place.

I went to Döner King yesterday and I have to say, it was simply fantastic! The meat was fresh, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, the bread crispy and warm. I was particularly impressed by the wide selection of fresh vegetables and delicious sauces. The portions are very generous, and the value for money is absolutely spot on. The staff was friendly, quick, and made me feel welcome. The atmosphere is clean and inviting—you immediately feel at home. For me, Döner King is definitely the first address when it comes to delicious kebabs. Highly recommended!

Biggest flop! Worst kebab and lahmacun we've ever eaten. I really wonder how this place survives. Apparently, only people who have no idea about proper kebab come here.

Super delicious kebab! A perfect refreshment, especially on or after a bike ride in the Hanover area. Delicious meat and fresh salad. The homemade spicy sauce and feta cheese are also very tasty. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We served baklava with the kebab and a chai to finish. We look forward to our next bike rides with a stop at Döner King!

You simply can't go wrong here. It satisfies exactly the craving you have when you want a kebab. Points deducted for the ambiance and (still?) no yaprak meat. Otherwise, everything's top-notch. It used to be better, but it's still good. It's always possible to sit down and devour a quick bite.

Nowadays every kebab shop is overpriced and disgusting. The kebab men aren't friendly anymore. I'm fed up with kebabs. They've died out in Germany because of shops like this. 😠

So if this is the best kebab in Hanover, then good night. The bread wasn't crispy, there was no garlic sauce, the hot sauce wasn't spicy, and the meat wasn't really good either.

Unfortunately, one star is too many!! I'm really disappointed. The meat was extremely fatty and unappetizing. Although I specifically asked the employee to give me fresh meat from the new spit, he apparently did the opposite and served me meat from the old spit while I was briefly in the restroom. After I started eating, burnt meat, soft bones, and pieces of cartilage suddenly appeared – absolutely unacceptable. Since then, I've had persistent diarrhea, which has lasted for two days now. I strongly suspect the meat was from the day before. This was my first and definitely my last time here. I honestly don't understand how this place gets so many good reviews. Very disappointing and unfortunately, I don't recommend it at all.

Just an information, there are people who can have allergic reactions! Unfortunately there was no pomegranate...a shame. The food came quickly...but the strawberries? Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. We waited almost 2 hours for our pizza and in the meantime called the store twice to ask where our food was. Despite the extreme delay, there was no apology from the staff. We were also not offered any small compensation, such as a drink, which is actually common in such cases. When the pizza finally arrived it was cold. Overall, absolutely unprofessional - something like that simply shouldn't happen. We definitely won't order here again.

Unfortunately my visit was very disappointing. The employees were unfriendly and unprofessional. Even worse: I got food poisoning after eating my kebab - with severe diarrhea and stomach pain. I have seen meat used that is left near the end of the skewer. This meat has often been heated for hours and can be full of bacteria. That was probably exactly the reason for my complaints. Something like this simply shouldn't happen - something urgently needs to be improved in terms of hygiene and freshness!

I'm sorry, but I've been craving kebab for ages 🥙 and in the past I've always been pleasantly surprised at how good the kebab was here. But yesterday it didn't work at all... In the chicken kebab there was almost only vegetables, all of which fell out when we ate at home because there was so much and meat at the bottom and extremely little. Then no veal but lamb kebab. It was much less stuffed and the meat was like a minced meat mass in long strands. The bread 🍞 wasn't tasty either. So no more kebabs this year!

Everything was great on site, but the delivery service is a disaster. We've ordered a few times, and so far, there's been something wrong with every order. The wrong sauces, the wrong meat, or the wrong vegetables, some of which we're allergic to and therefore couldn't eat. It was the same today, which ultimately prompted me to leave a review. We always write down what's not allowed on the menu, but unfortunately, this isn't taken into account... which is a shame, since everything's always perfect on site...

Very good kebab and falafel. Even if the line is longer, it's always quick. Everyone is always very friendly. Eating on site is possible, but I usually don't. Located directly at the Dörener Turm stop and easy to reach.

Danger! Danger! Danger!!!! I wanted to buy a kebab this evening, May 6th, 2024. When I entered the shop, I saw a fresh kebab skewer, still wrapped in thick foil, turning in the hot grill at full heat. The foil sizzled, steamed and melted, and the staff didn't care. I pointed this out to them clearly, but the staff didn't care. They also reacted extremely aggressively to my clear objection that toxic substances would be transferred from the foil into the meat and expelled me from the restaurant. However, I was able to take photos as evidence and will notify the trade inspection office/health department. Here, consumers are sold grilled meat that has previously "sizzled" with the foil in the grill. Impossible and dangerous!!! Addendum: Döner King had asked Google to delete it due to alleged “defamation”. This accusation is of course purely a protective claim, you can see from the picture the truth of my review. DK could possibly have committed a criminal offense under Section 186 of the Criminal Code with this clearly false accusation of "defamation" or possible slander. I reserve the right to file a lawsuit in this regard.

Ordered food today at 1 p.m. because of a break. Unfortunately the food came half an hour earlier and instead of veal there was lamb, which isn't really tasty cold...it's a shame! A no go for this price...we ordered for 4 people. For this idea, 1 star is at least one too many

We are very dissatisfied with this store. Communication is always problematic. If something is misunderstood, it is immediately blasphemed. If you say "with cheese" three times and in the end there is no cheese on the kebab and you still have to pay for the cheese, that's a real shame. We have ordered there several times and never received what we ordered. In our opinion the store is not worth 4.8/5 stars.

I ordered food Karm after 2:20 ice cold and wrong. I called in between to ask where my food was and why the delivery time on Lieferando kept being pushed back. Statement from staff If you don't receive an order from us, you have to settle it in the Liefernado because of your money. Suddenly after 10 minutes the status at Lieferando was changed and it said that the food was being prepared. Food is inedible. Meat is burned I ordered without salad, half of my kebab plate is full of salad, so half of the food I wanted is not there.

We were there with a mother. The employees are very friendly and competent. The prices are great and I can't describe the taste of the kebab. Simply delicious and fantastic. I particularly like that it is clean and everything is freshly prepared. I also noticed that I couldn't find such a nice and friendly atmosphere anywhere.
