The price-performance ratio is simply unbeatable here. Lunch is particularly worthwhile here. Large selection of dishes and snacks, you can simply choose at the counter. Of course it has a slight canteen feel, but the food comes extremely quickly.

The Maruyasu on Immermannstrasse in Düsseldorf is a real highlight for all sushi lovers. For years it has been impressing with fresh, authentic Japanese cuisine and a large selection of sushi variations. The quality of the ingredients is particularly impressive - the fish is always fresh and perfectly processed. An absolute must are the seasonal specialties such as the Toro Nigiri, which impresses with its intense taste and delicate consistency. The Negi Toro, a fine tuna tartare with spring onions, is also a real delicacy. Anyone who likes to try new creations will definitely find what they are looking for here. The service is friendly, attentive and happy to advise you on your selection. The atmosphere at Maruyasu is relaxed, perfect for a little break in the middle of the city. Whether for a quick meal or a leisurely meal - Maruyasu on Immermannstrasse is always worth a visit!

Grabbed various nigiri and sushi to take away. Chutoro (Tuna) was a little too "fishy" for me - everything else was good. Highly priced.

It was a self-service restaurant similar to a Japanese restaurant. When it comes to Japanese food, you can find anything from rice bowls to udon noodles to sushi, and the restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating. I ordered tuna bowl and katsudon. As for the quality of the sashimi, it can't be helped since it's Germany. Thawed sashimi and wasabi paste. But I'm very happy that Shiso is on board. It feels like Katsudon is also from a restaurant. There was no bad customer service at all. He was rather kind.

Food is great, we had the ramen noodles with chicken gyoza. The gyoza were unfortunately cold, but tasty. The ramen was delicious! It's a shame that you have to get the food and drinks yourself.

Sushi is good. Quite pricey (€28 for the plate). You order at the counter and can then sit somewhere. So a bit Mc-like. Not very pleasant.

Very tasty, polite and authentic! I took Romain. A large portion and tastes good. Only German payment cards and cash are accepted. But there is an ATM nearby, which I used. I recommend this institution!

We didn't know this was a self-service restaurant. So unfortunately a lot less pleasant than expected. The sushi we ate was tasty, but we couldn't order many things because they had run out and were not being made again.

Based on the reviews, I had come with high expectations, but I was disappointed. The food was not fresh, nor was it tasty. For the price they charge, you can find much better places. The only good thing was that it’s a clean and quiet place.

We are tourists and found the daytime staff were extra friendly, so we came back for dinner. They have Charashi Don / Katsu Don / Various Udons / a la carte sushi options. Menu (w/pictures) is taped to the checkout table.

The restaurant specializes in sushi. There is a very good selection of these and they are already wrapped in foil to take away. This keeps the goods fresh and prevents weathering. What excited me is that, for example, unagi (eel) is flambéed before serving. As is usual in Japan, different types of tuna meat are also offered. There's also a good selection of starters - edamame, chicken skewers, Japanese croquettes (they actually have them there), etc. I went for the more expensive sushi and was thrilled to go there two days in a row. But the cheap sushi here (e.g. California roll) is not only rolled quite thickly, but also offers a good, cheap alternative and also tastes very good! Due to its location, the restaurant is a bit away from the Japanese quarter and is therefore unfairly underestimated. I am very enthusiastic and will eat here more often if I get the chance. By personally choosing the rolls, you have many options to put together either a luxury or economy menu, although the latter is more likely to be achieved by choosing cheaper products and you can enjoy it just as much as the more expensive version. To put it more clearly - you can get top sushi here at a supermarket price if you put it together wisely. Other dishes such as ramen (Japanese noodle soup) are offered. These are ok in terms of taste, but neighboring restaurants that specialize in ramen would be a better choice. Also important here - I have eaten similar ramen in Japan and it is completely okay, but there are top ramen restaurants in the immediate vicinity. I think it's great how the Japanese comes across. Was recently in Japan and this restaurant is definitely authentic.

Just try something different instead of just kebab

The Katsudon was very tasty, although a rather smaller portion. The atmosphere is more like a butcher shop than a restaurant.

Good value for money for lunch (approx. 15 euros), sufficiently large portions, large sushi counter and bento boxes. Consistent quality from Ando for many years.

Very reasonably priced sushi and ramen dishes. Self service is nice and helps keep things cheap. Bring cash if you don't have a German bank card - there's a Deutsche Bank ATM six minutes away on the first floor of the Schadow-Arkaden mall.

Me and my friend came in asking if they also take Apple pay. They don’t but the staff pointed us to the nearest ATM and even walked outside to point it out. Amazingly friendly and very patient staff. We were talking English and the person behind the counter was very accommodating. All the food was delicious and priced reasonably! Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to when I get the chance!

I love it here. You never have to wait long, the service is very nice and calm, the ambience is calm and nice. I really enjoy coming here to eat and I get more than full every time (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)

I wrote my first review three years ago and was here again yesterday: the food there is still tasty and comes quickly. The cleanliness of the store, in every little corner, in the bathroom and also in terms of smell, is still top notch. Every little corner is being cleaned and you can see it! The ambience is simple and is accompanied by classical or jazz music, so that you can relax and have a calm atmosphere. Love it!

We were a bit confused when we entered the restaurant, as the sign said to wait, but the staff didn’t explain the seating process. It turned out we just had to find our own seats and order at the counter. The menu offered a nice variety, and the food was good, though a bit on the pricey side for my taste.

It's unbelievable that you can't get sushi in a sushi restaurant at 6 p.m. even though they're open until 8 p.m. We usually always go to the Shadowakaden to eat sushi, it's the same owner, but there was no more sushi there at 5:30 p.m That's completely incomprehensible to me. I'm guessing that the owners are on vacation. Otherwise I can't explain it. It's a shame because we always go out to eat at the Shadowakaden because the quality is really great.

Best place to eat Udon and sushi! It’s like a Japanese canteen, no one’s implying tips and it’s great price.

everything is well made, but there are certainly way more creative sushi spots than this one. the „hänchenschnitzel“ was the highlight for us, but otherwise we prefer other spots. still four stars for the kind staff & the quality of the ingredients. it‘s definitely worth a try.

Delicious. I visited this restaurant twice and liked it both times. They are open until 19 pm, the third time I came to close, took food to go (with me), I also liked it. Amazing rice, sauces, meat.

Maruyasu is one of the back restaurants on the Japanese street in Düsseldorf that doesn't get enough attention. You see the menu at the entrance and order at the front. After ordering, you get a small device that beeps/vibrates when the food is ready and you pick it up yourself. The food was always delicious.

My recommendation is the sushi! Tastes great 10/10 and the ginger tastes better than usual. Super fresh, really great. The other "warm" dishes are good but not a highlight. But for the price you can't complain. Compared to the sushi, it's only moderate.

This store operates via the cafeteria style. Hot food orders are placed with the counter, and a pager is given to you to inform you when to collect the order.

Delicious udon noodles. I think it's very good that there are vegan options - but there should be more choice. Good value for money. The atmosphere resembles a snack bar, typical Japanese flair!

You cannot pay with Visa gold, Rabo Maestro or Me Ing card. Not even with American Express and not with JCB. Only cash or a German payment card. Unimaginable. This is fighting bad.

I liked the place, delicious food, fast and very polite service, pleasant interior. We are not very familiar with Asian cuisine, so we chose dishes intuitively. But they were completely satisfied.

I've been to multiple Maruyasu's and it's always been solid lunch restaurants in a self-serving style. The sushi is good and I always enjoy the Kitsune udon or Udon with Tempura flakes.

Really good authentic Japanese. Just before "Little Japan" which is good. Because there are only so many tourists there and you can always find space. Great team and delicious food.

We are extremely happy when we walk through this restaurant. They have a lot of menus. We had sushi, tempura, and mochi. All of them are excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

Honestly I was pretty unimpressed and disappointed.. Based on other reviews and online searches this seemed like a top Japanese restaurant. However the katsudon we ordered lacked flavour and you can't pay with non-german issued cards.

The dishes were delicious. But self-service is not my thing. Everything has more of a snack bar feel. It's great for takeaway!

I went there yesterday for the first time with a friend and the food was really good! We got one of the noodle soups and each one of us a drink. The workers remained calm and friendly even tho we went in shortly before they closed (we should have looked at the opening hours, my apologies). The prices are reasonable and we spent around 15€ per person (without drink, with drink 17€). They have alot of food and sitting options and the bathrooms are clean too. (Walked into the bathroom while one of the workers was cleaning but he apologized immediately even tho he didnt had to😅). If you want to eat something from there after 7:30 pm, they still offer you takeaway.

I ordered kakiage and udon. The taste was weak, the kakiage was sticky, and it was the least delicious kakiage udon I've ever had at a restaurant. I'm Japanese and I'm a big fan of kakiage udon, so I was looking forward to it, but it was my last dinner while sightseeing in Germany, and I was very disappointed. (Around 17 February 22, 2024)

Unfortunately, Tonkatsu is not prepared authentically. Or rather it was only made warm and therefore tasted very bland. Accordingly, it is significantly overpriced for warmed up food that is not freshly prepared.

We wanted to order sushi and Ramen, but they only accept German cards and there was no cash..

Good selection of udon soups and sushi. The presentation has more of a snack feeling. It doesn't look cozy but it's definitely the right place to take away. The soup was really tasty and sufficient.

The soup was cold and disgusting, I got water with noodles for 13 euros after I asked to warm it up, ka. The soup back to the table cold, that's the best example of how the Japanese community doesn't care how you serve food to customers...

In fact, I didn't pay any attention to the store for years - wrongly! I've been here twice in a very short space of time and the food has always been delicious! The udon and nigiri sushi are particularly recommended.

Leuk Japans restaurant, het eten was lekker. Wel even uitvissen hoe het concept werkt. Dus eten voor bij de balie bestellen daarna krijg je een zoemer mee, zodra je maaltijd klaar is mag je het eten ophalen. Wil je verse sushi dan kan je dat voor in het restaurant aangegeven welke je allemaal wilt. Wij hebben de Avochiki donburi en de Toriteri Udon maaltijden gegeten. Dat was verrassend lekker. Miso soepje erbij was ook lekker. Voor ons zeker wel een aanrader als we weer eens in Düsseldorf zijn gaan wij zeker weer langs.

Sushi ist einfach schrecklich!!!

Einfach und schnell essen kann man hier. Es ist eine Art japanisches Fast-Food Restaurant Authentisch japanisches Essen in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Herzlichen Empfang beim Eintreten haben wir hier erfahren. Breites Angebot an Sushi und Udon-Nudeln. Ramen, Soba-Nudeln sind leider nicht zu finden. Entsprechende Soße zu Tempura oder Ebi, nicht cross genug, müsste man ggf. nachfragen. Die Toiletten sind sehr sauber und technisch gut kn Schuss. Wer hier gut und schnell japanisch essen will, ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Platz, tolles Essen zu gutem Preise und Gruß an den Mitarbeiter mit dem Berserk Shirt, guter Geschmack. Nur zu empfehlen

Maruyasu is a timeless classic for me, great food selection, kind and friendly staff and the wait time is very low. Good choice if you’re around city center.

Good foor and good customer service. Was the first time there and a bit confused at first, but they handled it great. No problem at all, cosindering we only know english as well.

No Visa ! Only EC in Germany. Very good restaurant with decent amount of options. Super comfortable for eating as a lone traveler. Friendly staff and prices are fair. 10-17 Euro for a meal.

Tolle Auswahl verschiedener Sushi und anderer japanischer Gerichte. Man wählt aus einer Auswahl die für einen passenden Gerichte aus. Die Maki waren sehr lecker, auch die gebackenen Hähnchen mit Sauce waren prima. Die Gyoza mit Saucen waren auch lecker, den panierten Ebi tat das Erhitzen in der Mikrowelle nicht so gut, die Panade war danach etwas matschig. Die Udon-Suppen waren lecker abgeschmeckt, die Nudeln aromatisch und gut gegart. Der Preis der Gerichte war absolut in Ordnung, die Bedienungen waren alle sehr freundlich und immer ansprechbar. Wir haben gut mit sechs Personen einen Platz zu finden. Das Restaurant und die Toiletten waren sehr sauber.

Viel Auswahl und frische Zutaten!!! Ein super Erlebnis und ein tolles Essen! Sehr saubere und ordentliche Toiletten und ein klasse Service und generell Ablauf!🥰 Wirklich Klasse!
