I love it here. You never have to wait long, the service is very nice and calm, the ambience is calm and nice. I really enjoy coming here to eat and I get more than full every time (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)

I wrote my first review three years ago and was here again yesterday: the food there is still tasty and comes quickly. The cleanliness of the store, in every little corner, in the bathroom and also in terms of smell, is still top notch. Every little corner is being cleaned and you can see it! The ambience is simple and is accompanied by classical or jazz music, so that you can relax and have a calm atmosphere. Love it!

We were a bit confused when we entered the restaurant, as the sign said to wait, but the staff didn’t explain the seating process. It turned out we just had to find our own seats and order at the counter. The menu offered a nice variety, and the food was good, though a bit on the pricey side for my taste.

It's unbelievable that you can't get sushi in a sushi restaurant at 6 p.m. even though they're open until 8 p.m. We usually always go to the Shadowakaden to eat sushi, it's the same owner, but there was no more sushi there at 5:30 p.m That's completely incomprehensible to me. I'm guessing that the owners are on vacation. Otherwise I can't explain it. It's a shame because we always go out to eat at the Shadowakaden because the quality is really great.

Best place to eat Udon and sushi! It’s like a Japanese canteen, no one’s implying tips and it’s great price.

everything is well made, but there are certainly way more creative sushi spots than this one. the „hänchenschnitzel“ was the highlight for us, but otherwise we prefer other spots. still four stars for the kind staff & the quality of the ingredients. it‘s definitely worth a try.

Sushi tastes fresh and delicious. The hot tea is also good. Unfortunately, the fried shrimp was not convincing.

Delicious. I visited this restaurant twice and liked it both times. They are open until 19 pm, the third time I came to close, took food to go (with me), I also liked it. Amazing rice, sauces, meat.

Maruyasu is one of the back restaurants on the Japanese street in Düsseldorf that doesn't get enough attention. You see the menu at the entrance and order at the front. After ordering, you get a small device that beeps/vibrates when the food is ready and you pick it up yourself. The food was always delicious.

My recommendation is the sushi! Tastes great 10/10 and the ginger tastes better than usual. Super fresh, really great. The other "warm" dishes are good but not a highlight. But for the price you can't complain. Compared to the sushi, it's only moderate.

This store operates via the cafeteria style. Hot food orders are placed with the counter, and a pager is given to you to inform you when to collect the order.

I always eat lunch here when I travel to Düsseldorf. This time I had the fried chicken bowl, and the taste was as expected. Feel the peace of mind that you can get through everything in Japanese from start to finish.

Delicious udon noodles. I think it's very good that there are vegan options - but there should be more choice. Good value for money. The atmosphere resembles a snack bar, typical Japanese flair!

You cannot pay with Visa gold, Rabo Maestro or Me Ing card. Not even with American Express and not with JCB. Only cash or a German payment card. Unimaginable. This is fighting bad.

I liked the place, delicious food, fast and very polite service, pleasant interior. We are not very familiar with Asian cuisine, so we chose dishes intuitively. But they were completely satisfied.

I've been to multiple Maruyasu's and it's always been solid lunch restaurants in a self-serving style. The sushi is good and I always enjoy the Kitsune udon or Udon with Tempura flakes.

Really good authentic Japanese. Just before "Little Japan" which is good. Because there are only so many tourists there and you can always find space. Great team and delicious food.

We are extremely happy when we walk through this restaurant. They have a lot of menus. We had sushi, tempura, and mochi. All of them are excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

Honestly I was pretty unimpressed and disappointed.. Based on other reviews and online searches this seemed like a top Japanese restaurant. However the katsudon we ordered lacked flavour and you can't pay with non-german issued cards.

The dishes were delicious. But self-service is not my thing. Everything has more of a snack bar feel. It's great for takeaway!

I went there yesterday for the first time with a friend and the food was really good! We got one of the noodle soups and each one of us a drink. The workers remained calm and friendly even tho we went in shortly before they closed (we should have looked at the opening hours, my apologies). The prices are reasonable and we spent around 15€ per person (without drink, with drink 17€). They have alot of food and sitting options and the bathrooms are clean too. (Walked into the bathroom while one of the workers was cleaning but he apologized immediately even tho he didnt had to😅). If you want to eat something from there after 7:30 pm, they still offer you takeaway.

I ordered kakiage and udon. The taste was weak, the kakiage was sticky, and it was the least delicious kakiage udon I've ever had at a restaurant. I'm Japanese and I'm a big fan of kakiage udon, so I was looking forward to it, but it was my last dinner while sightseeing in Germany, and I was very disappointed. (Around 17 February 22, 2024)

Unfortunately, Tonkatsu is not prepared authentically. Or rather it was only made warm and therefore tasted very bland. Accordingly, it is significantly overpriced for warmed up food that is not freshly prepared.

We wanted to order sushi and Ramen, but they only accept German cards and there was no cash..

Good selection of udon soups and sushi. The presentation has more of a snack feeling. It doesn't look cozy but it's definitely the right place to take away. The soup was really tasty and sufficient.

The soup was cold and disgusting, I got water with noodles for 13 euros after I asked to warm it up, ka. The soup back to the table cold, that's the best example of how the Japanese community doesn't care how you serve food to customers...

In fact, I didn't pay any attention to the store for years - wrongly! I've been here twice in a very short space of time and the food has always been delicious! The udon and nigiri sushi are particularly recommended.

Leuk Japans restaurant, het eten was lekker. Wel even uitvissen hoe het concept werkt. Dus eten voor bij de balie bestellen daarna krijg je een zoemer mee, zodra je maaltijd klaar is mag je het eten ophalen. Wil je verse sushi dan kan je dat voor in het restaurant aangegeven welke je allemaal wilt. Wij hebben de Avochiki donburi en de Toriteri Udon maaltijden gegeten. Dat was verrassend lekker. Miso soepje erbij was ook lekker. Voor ons zeker wel een aanrader als we weer eens in Düsseldorf zijn gaan wij zeker weer langs.

Einfach und schnell essen kann man hier. Es ist eine Art japanisches Fast-Food Restaurant Authentisch japanisches Essen in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Herzlichen Empfang beim Eintreten haben wir hier erfahren. Breites Angebot an Sushi und Udon-Nudeln. Ramen, Soba-Nudeln sind leider nicht zu finden. Entsprechende Soße zu Tempura oder Ebi, nicht cross genug, müsste man ggf. nachfragen. Die Toiletten sind sehr sauber und technisch gut kn Schuss. Wer hier gut und schnell japanisch essen will, ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Maruyasu is a timeless classic for me, great food selection, kind and friendly staff and the wait time is very low. Good choice if you’re around city center.

Good foor and good customer service. Was the first time there and a bit confused at first, but they handled it great. No problem at all, cosindering we only know english as well.

No Visa ! Only EC in Germany. Very good restaurant with decent amount of options. Super comfortable for eating as a lone traveler. Friendly staff and prices are fair. 10-17 Euro for a meal.

Tolle Auswahl verschiedener Sushi und anderer japanischer Gerichte. Man wählt aus einer Auswahl die für einen passenden Gerichte aus. Die Maki waren sehr lecker, auch die gebackenen Hähnchen mit Sauce waren prima. Die Gyoza mit Saucen waren auch lecker, den panierten Ebi tat das Erhitzen in der Mikrowelle nicht so gut, die Panade war danach etwas matschig. Die Udon-Suppen waren lecker abgeschmeckt, die Nudeln aromatisch und gut gegart. Der Preis der Gerichte war absolut in Ordnung, die Bedienungen waren alle sehr freundlich und immer ansprechbar. Wir haben gut mit sechs Personen einen Platz zu finden. Das Restaurant und die Toiletten waren sehr sauber.

3年ぶりくらいに訪れましたが、雰囲気が変わっていてびっくり‼️ 以前は女性の店員さん達がにこやかに「いらっしゃいませー」と迎えてくれ、いつ行っても心が暖かくなったものですが、現在はほとんどが男性でニコリともせず。 お弁当やメニューの内容も、乏しくなった気がします。 (日本人以外に合わせたような。。) ほぼ満席でしたが、他に日本人のお客さんは居らず、なんだか納得してしまいました。 ---------------------------------------------------------- 以前、すごく感じの悪い日本人男性が働いていたのですが、最近は見ないので安心です。他の方はいつも本当に一生懸命働いていて、お弁当・お惣菜も美味しく、ありがたい限りです。

At the beginning we were waiting for at least 13 minutes until they told us that we can order and then sit. They didn't have a spesific catalogue or menu to look at the foods except the cash register wich made it really chaotic for all the customers to order. The rahmen i ordered was okey, not something special and the soup that was served with it was tasteless. Generally i got disappointed with the sushi. you could buy by piece, wich is obviously not worth when the price per piece is 2-3€.

!!Only takes Girocard - No Visa etc.!! Fresh and great food, especially the sushi and sashimi are nice. Always a pleasure (also to take away)

Wir hatten Ramen gegessen, wenn sie heißer gewesen wäre, dann hätte sie besser geschmeckt. Aber sonst freundlich, aber keine Bedienung. Toiletten waren sehr sauber und das Lokal auch. Das Ramen war aber geschmacklich gut gewesen.

Eine hervorragende Auswahl der wohl leckersten Sushis, die wir je hatten. Sehr freundliche, kenntnisreiche Bedienung. Extremst frisch und authentisch. Eine 🇯🇵kulinarische Erfahrung, die man so wohl nur in Düsseldorf erleben kann. Udon Teriyaki auch sehr zu empfehlen. Wie zu erwarten eine etwas karge, Innenausstattung des Restaurants - weniger Restaurant, mehr Imbiss. Schließt bereits 19:00 Uhr. Preise leicht gehoben, der Qualität angemessen.

Das Ambiente erinnert ein wenig an eine Kantine, aber das Essen war sehr gut. Die Angestellten waren aber sehr freundlich, wirkten jedoch teilweise übermüdet.

Das Essen kann man sich aus einer Theke aussuchen und damit eine eigene, individuelle Esserfahrung kreieren, was ich vom Konzept her super finde. Das Essen an sich war auch mega lecker, besonders die Sushi haben mir sehr gut gefallen. Allerdings war der Preis auch für die Menge an Essen echt hoch. Ich hab 20€ alleine bezahlt und war am Ende nicht wirklich satt. Außerdem war der Laden sehr voll, sodass dort essen schon schwierig werden kann (hatte aber Glück).

As an avid fan of Japanese food we had to try this restaurant. There is a limited number of meals, and we tried a couple. I must say the ones we tried were very tasty also quite attractively priced. Really enjoyed it here and will definitely come again.

Top japanisches Essen. Auch nach dem 3. Besuch noch immer klasse. Sushi, Tempura, Udon, Ramen und Reisbowls. Ein super Querschnitt durch die japanische Küche.

I had food here about a week ago and I can’t stop thinking about it 😭 So tasteful. First impressions as i walk in was “wow i need to try all of them!” - I did not try all of them, the options were endless. 😂 The food is presented behind a display where you can choose it piece by piece, which adds up in the end. There were some really cheap options eg: fried chicken for 2,70EUR, rice for less than 2EUR, dumplings for about 7EUR and so on. Biggest highlight for me was the maki sushi. It tasted really fresh! Anything I tried tasted amazing and this is as authentic as it gets. There is lots of room and seating around the restaurant. People do communicate in english and the service was really fast. Can only recommend this place. 😊

Sushi ist lecker, aber die Auswahl um 19 Uhr war nicht mehr die Beste. Das Marayasu beim Shadow Arkaden fande ich noch viel besser. 😋

Zunächst einmal sollte man erwähnen dass das eher eine Kantine ist als ein Restaurant oder anders gesagt es ist eine Art selbstbedienungsbistro. Warme Gerichte werden nach Bestellung frisch zubereitet geht doch wird Sushi und Co im vorhinein schon vorbereitet und man sucht sich einfach nur aus was man möchte. Wie oben bereits beschrieben es ist kein Restaurant sondern eher eine Kantine. Dafür dass es ein Kantinen Flair hat sind die Preise recht hoch aber das Essen schmeckt. Im Grunde genommen kann man sagen es ist ein Besuch Wert. Aber noch mal würde ich glaube ich nicht nochmal hin.

Wir konnten die guten Bewertungen überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Hohe Preise für Selbstbedienung. Wenig Auswahl an warmen Gerichten. Geschmacklich ok, aber absolut nichts besonderes, kleine Portionen und viel Reis, um die Gewinnmarge möglichst hoch zu halten. Kantinenstimmung und unfreundlicher Service runden die Tatsache ab, dass ein Gericht um die 16€ kostet. Nicht zu empfehlen, da lieber ein richtiges Restaurant aufsuchen.

Ich hatte Avocado-Teriyaki-Hühnchen-Bowle bestellt. So schlecht habe ich noch nie (asiatisch) gegessen. Bin nochmal zur Essensausgabe gegangen und habe nochmal nachgefragt, ob das tatsächlich Hühnchen ist. Antwort: das ist halt so fettig!! Sah aus wie Ente und schmeckte auch so. Sehr eklig und gar nicht lecker. Das Personal ist völlig überfordert. Das Interieur und Ambiente ist wie in einem Schnellrestaurant. Ganz bestimmt werde ich nie wieder hier und in einem Ableger des Restaurants essen gehen!

Einfach Original Maruyasu. Spannendes Konzept mit einer guten und authentischen Auswahl japanischer Spezialitäten. Geschmacklich einfach gut. Was erwartet man aber auch sonst in Düsseldorf? Auch die Preis-Leistung ist top.

Sehr gutes authentisches Essen für einen guten Preis. Wir hatten eine Suppe und dazu noch Maki, Gyoza und weitere Kleinigkeiten. Sind für 20€ pro Person sehr satt geworden und das Essen war spitze.

Leider werden die Handschuhe zum kassieren nicht ausgezogen. Das Geld wird damit entgegengenommen, Wechselgeld rausgegeben und danach das nächste Sushi auf den Teller geladen. Für mich ein Grund dort nicht mehr essen zu gehen.

I went to the mall location in between work meetings and loved it so much that I visited this location. I also was on the hunt for hamachi and was so happy to find it here 🤤🍣 The space is a lot bigger and has more seats in the back. It seems that the menu is a lot longer, with more variety of bento boxes and warm plates. Sushi and nigiris seemed to have a lot more options as well. Once again, this place is also a cash only establishment. So come prepared!

Mit Abstand das beste Sushi, das ich bisher gegessen habe! Die Konsistenz und der Geschmack des Sushireis' war auffällig gut und auch die Sojasoße und das Wasabi haben super gepasst und haben dem Sushi nicht den Geschmack genommen, wie das in den meisten Restaurants ist. Reservieren kann man nicht, aber es war ausreichend Platz vorhanden.

Это просто катастрофа. Пришли сюда только потому, что в обед все нормальные заведения закрыты. Внимание! Это не ресторан! Это прилавок с готовыми сушами. Суп ужасный, суши тоже. Не рекомендую. Все кто пишут, что это лучшие суши - никогда в жизни не ели нормальную еду.

Essen war absolut lecker und die Preise sind absolut okay. Das Lokal selber ist jedoch eher spartanisch, etwas lieblos und erinnert eher an eine Kantine. Wen das nicht stört kann hier gut und günstig essen.
