20241211 I had the pleasure of getting to know the Dompfaff restaurant as part of a work Christmas party. The restaurant may seem inconspicuous from the outside at first, but that impression quickly changed once we sat down inside. The cozy ambience immediately managed to convey a welcoming atmosphere in which we felt completely at home. The extremely friendly and attentive staff, who looked after us excellently throughout the evening, also contributed to this. Despite the busy restaurant, the service was surprisingly efficient. The orders as well as drinks and food came without long waiting times. We were able to pass the time with a few drinks until our dishes were served. The shandy was particularly well mixed. I had already researched the menu in advance and decided on the “Dompfaff” schnitzel, which is often recommended. The portion was generous - I was glad I didn't order a starter, even though my colleagues' starters not only looked tempting, but also smelled wonderful. The schnitzel “Dompfaff” itself was an absolute highlight. It's definitely one of the best schnitzels I've ever eaten. The fried potatoes and fresh salad served with it were also excellent and rounded off the dish perfectly. Overall, the Dompfaff restaurant offers a successful combination of a welcoming atmosphere, excellent service and high-quality food. A visit is worth it – not just for special occasions, but also for a relaxed evening in a cozy environment.

My first visit in a very long time. We had pre-booked a table and were 9 people at a small company Christmas party. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas with Erzgebirge craftsmanship. The service was very friendly, considerate and accommodating. The quality of the food was very good. We had mostly Christmas dishes and everyone was thrilled. Special requests due to allergies were addressed and very well advised. All in all, it was a completely successful visit. Thank you for that.

The staff is very friendly. We had Christmas party dinner there. For this occasion I ordered the venison goulash for €26.50, as you can't make that at home. I was really happy about it, a great, delicious one to get food. I have to say that I was very disappointed about this. There was very little meat and the sauce was just thick. Since I didn't like the side dishes, I ordered mashed potatoes with it. Unfortunately, this one was only out of the bag, so it was mixed Powdered mashed potatoes. I was totally disappointed about it. I thought I would get a very tasty meal and then this hefty price that wasn't justified at all. A glass of wine 0.2 er costs €6.90 to book. I would not recommend this menu as the quality and price are an absolute flop.

Clear recommendation. Very tasty food, beautifully prepared and fresh. Service is very friendly. Maybe use a little less clove next time with red cabbage. All in all, we would definitely come back and recommend the restaurant without reservation. Keep it up, we weren't there last time.

We were a larger group, so you can't expect it to be quick, but given the prices, the quality of all the dishes should be right. More salad on the plate than fried potatoes, which were only slightly browned, not crispy, as ordered. In addition, my food was cold (not all dishes), so the waitress's inappropriate cool comments didn't help. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit.

Very good German family restaurant on Cathedral Square. The map is small but nice. Everything is freshly prepared without any finished products. Very nice outdoor area and always cheerful service ensure a pleasant stay. Fair prices. Always my pleasure

Located in the shadow of the cathedral, the Dpmpfaff, Halle's good restaurants, can be counted on one hand. The Bullfinch is one of them with German cuisine and a sufficiently stocked menu.

Food okay but seasoned too weakly. Tailored to perhaps other target groups. No strong cheese, fried potato not crispy and cold, sauce very tasty.

Nice restaurant. However, the tagliatelle with chanterelles were relatively tasteless - there was no salt, pepper and herbs. A pity.

(As of 2024) A lot has changed for the better here since the change of ownership five years ago. A small menu with selected dishes. Very very tasty. The cook (father) understands and loves his craft. Fresh food is processed and homemade. A big thank you for letting his guests participate. The service (mother and son) is on the ball and in a good mood. They know their dishes and drinks. The price-performance ratio is perfect. A big request to the operators: keep it up, with heart, dedication and competence. (As of 2019) It was clean. The service friendly. The food, the bullfinch platter consisting of various types of meat, green beans and potatoes with onions, tasted a bit bland. Some of the meat was tough and one piece tasted a bit bitter. Little seasoning, lots of fat and lots of onions. The onions were found on the potatoes as well as on the vegetables. My companion's fish cordon bleu was not fully cooked. There were mushrooms with the fish, which tasted best. She had ready-made croquettes as a side dish. Her food wasn't seasoned well either. When the service asked whether it was tasty, I answered negatively, which didn't interest the service. Like so often. The price quoted for the food is not justified. (as of Jan 2019)

Yesterday we visited the Bullfinch with a larger group. The food (whether starters, main courses or desserts) was super tasty, everything was fresh and beautifully and lovingly prepared and the service was great. We felt very comfortable. The restaurant is highly recommended, I would like to come back.

Very nice small and cozy restaurant right next to Halle Cathedral. The service was quick and friendly. Food is excellent! The dish “Schnitzel “Dompfaff” is a secret recipe from the owner of the house. We recommend. Price/performance is still right here. We are thrilled and would love to come back.

Value for money wasn't right for me. It was disappointing that at the beginning of the asparagus season there was canned asparagus with the baked potato with asparagus 😔

I can only recommend this restaurant. Top team. The food is really great, the taste is great. It doesn't get any better. Now there is green sauce which is a blast. In general, you notice how much love the chef cooks when you eat. Everything seems completely harmonious.

We were here for the second time for Easter dinner with the family (10 people). The map is manageable but special. There is a separate menu for children. The food is super delicious 😋.

Unfortunately, Halle is not the capital of German gastronomy, and Dompfaff - with a little bit of retro - corresponds to that

Service, food, simply delicious and creative

There are many places worth visiting in Halle. But if you visit the residence, not only then, or if you are in the vicinity (Handelhaus, Stadtmühle, Moritzburg), you should take the time and stop by. Remember the historical highlights and put your smartphone away (!!!!) and enjoy your stay with the view of the cathedral. A wide variety of building eras are represented in the area. You might even hear the Old Dessauer’s orders to march. The cathedral square also served as a parade ground. Not forgetting the students at the medical university. Perhaps even Countess Cosel drove this way in a horse-drawn carriage on her escape? So, next to the restaurant, pure history. Nice, friendly staff and, well, tasty food and drinks!!! Reasonably priced. I recommend one of the coveted window seats.

Nice restaurant in the middle of the city. The food was really delicious and so was the service. We can only recommend it.

I had 1/2 duck, my partner had 1/4 duck, with fresh red cabbage and dumplings for 29.80 euros and 23.80 euros respectively. We each chose an appetizer and various drinks. All in all, I was thrilled. I'll definitely come back. Table reservation is recommended.

Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre, Essen wurde nicht nach Wunsch zubereitet, voller Preis musste bezahlt werden, Service hat uns leider ignoriert.

Gutes und schön gelegenes Lokal direkt am Domplatz. Essen und Bedienung waren sehr gut. Vor allem die Weinkarte ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Vorspeisen (Soljanka, Würzfleisch) waren lecker und von der Portionsgröße angemessen. Gegessen im Hauptgang haben wir die beiden Schnitzelgerichte, die waren top paniert und sehr lecker. Kommen gerne wieder.

Bin eigentlich nicht so der große Fan von deutscher Küche, aber das Essen hier ist einfach großartig. Hatte die Maultaschen mit Weichkäse und Chutney und das Schnitzel probiert und war absolut überzeugt. Sogar der Tee war richtig gut! Die Atmosphäre ist sehr persönlich, und der Kellner hat auch etwas Einblick in den Kochvorgang gegeben - und obwohl ich ein paar Minuten zusätzlich warten musste, hat es sich total gelohnt für das gute Essen. Locker, ehrlich, lecker - alles, was ich brauche. Wenn ich das nächste Mal in Halle bin, lasse ich mir das nicht entgehen :)

Eines der wenigen klassischen Speiseloklen mit deutscher regionaler und saisonalen Küche. Man sitzt bequem am Rande des Domplatzes, die Bedienung ist freundlich und vorausschauend! Nix wie hin!

Das war heute ein super schöner abend,mit ma ein wirklich ehrliche Küche, zu dem haben wir eine eine coole Gastronomen Familie kenner gerlent und alles drum herum war wirklich alles stimmig. . 5 Sterne sind leider zu wenig, von daher geben wir aus ein klenen Runde ingesamt 10 von 5 Sterne

Sehr leckeres, frisches Essen. Hier wird noch mit liebe gekocht und geschmeckt hat es besser als bei Oma. Waren zwar nur auf der Durchreise, aber hier kommen wir gerne nochmal hin.

Wir sind restlos beeindruckt. Ein schönes Ambiente Im Schatten des Doms. Schöne Aussicht auf den Domplatz und den Dom. Super leckeres Essen, die Karte ist zwar nicht riesig aber völlig ausreichend und es ist für jeden Geschmack was dabei. Dazu noch nette Bedienungen die auch immer mal zu nem Spaß aufgelegt sind. Und das zu einem vernünftigen und guten Preis für das Essen. Fazit: Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nicht zu empfehlen. Leider, da ein schöner Platz. Mein Essen war komplett ungewürzt. Als ich es der Bedienung sagte, wurde gesagt das ja Salz auf dem Tisch steht. Danach wurde an unserem Tisch vorbei gelaufen. 25 min stand das leere Bierglas vor meiner Begleitung. Außerdem war dort das Essen teilweise nur lauwarm. Freundliche konstruktive Kritik wurde beleidigt abgelehnt. Schade
