Wunderbares Essen und eine sehr freundliche Bedienung. Die Mittagskarte (auch am Wochenende) ist äußerst günstig. Kann den Dom König uneingeschränkt empfehlen!

Die Lage ist super, direkt im Stadtzentrum und in der Nähe der Kathedrale. Das Zimmer war sauber und alles funktionierte einwandfrei. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, die Auswahl könnte am Wochenende aber etwas größer sein. Freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal.

Freundlicher und guter Service bei leckerem Essen

Leider waren wir sehr enttäuscht vom Restaurant. Das Essen wirkte und schmeckte nicht selbstgemacht. Die Schnitzel waren trocken und geschmacklos. Kartoffeln waren fade. Eine Portion Ketchup kostete 1,50 Euro extra. Die Teller waren vielversprechend angerichtet, das war es aber auch schon. Sicherlich wird das Restaurant häufig besucht, da die Lage am Dom optimal ist. Wir werden nicht mehr wiederkommen.

Mit einer Gruppe verspätet angekommen, dennoch super empfangen. Sehr gutes Essen und sehr freundliches Personal. Gerne wieder.😊

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Sehr ruhiges Restaurant. Nicht überfüllt. Sehr zuvorkommender Service. Danke an Ole, hat er wirklich super gemachr.

Unser Besuch im Domkönig Magdeburg war rundum gelungen. Tolle Lage direkt am Dom, super Atmosphäre und ein Ort, an dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, das Essen lecker und schön angerichtet. Insgesamt einfach ein sehr stimmiger Abend – wir kommen gerne wieder! Eine Reservierung ist empfehlenswert.

Mittagsmenü preislich gut. Qualität in ordnung. Currywurst war lecker, pommes heiß und knusprig. 40 min wartezeit schon ein bisschen arg.

Im Domkönig haben wir immer unseren. " Mädelstreff". Das Essen ist sehr schmackhaft und die Bedienung ist höflich und aufmerksam. Einfach spitze wie immer.👍👍👍Seit Jahren eine sehr gute Adresse. Speisen und Service sind sehr gut 👍👍👍Der Chef ist immer anwesend, was sehr positiv auffällt.

Waren gestern am Valentinstag erstmals im Domkönig. Der Chef, Uli Bittner, empfing die Gäste am Eingang persönlich. Tolles Ambiente, super Service und vor allem ganz tolle deutsche Küche in Perfektion. Es muss keine große Speisekarte sein. In dem Fall Qualität vor Quantität. Wir haben lange nicht mehr so gut in einem Restaurant gegessen. Das Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und auch das Lachsfilet mit Rösti-Ecken, einfach fantastisch Man merkt in diesem Restaurant, dass der Gast im Vordergrund steht. Macht weiter so, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tolle Atmosphäre, Service meist zuvorkommend und freundlich. Das Essen ist geschmacklich sehr gut, die Portion ausreichend, könnte etwas mehr sein. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ich hatte die Rinderroulade mit Klößen und Rotkohl, es hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt und die Portion hat mich gut gesättigt. Leider hat meiner Partnerin ihr Schnitzel nicht so gut geschmeckt, sie fand es ein wenig trocken. Die Lokation ist super schön und die Bedingungen sehr höflich.

Wir haben bei einem exzellenten Abendessen mit Freunden den ersten Advent ausklingen lassen.

Overall, everything was good. Delicious food... fresh chanterelles with a delicious sauce. Unfortunately, my schnitzel must have been deep-fried. Nice restaurant with friendly, attentive service.

Burgers only on Friday and Saturday, so they didn't have it. I should have eaten here anyway compared to the other place. The atmosphere was good add the food looked quality.

On August 22, 2025, we decided to conclude our study group's alumni reunion at the Domkönig restaurant. As we walked in, we were greeted by a warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. Then the food arrived. Since my sauce was completely oversalted, I reported it to our server. She informed the chef and returned the following statement from him: "We always prepare the sauces like this, and maybe it's a bit burnt." What does a guest do with such a statement? I always thought the guest is king. That wasn't the case. I left my food because it was too salty and therefore inedible for me. I also asked our server for a quick chat with the chef. He had already finished work at 9:30 p.m. I then asked to speak to the owner. He wasn't there either, but was at another restaurant. I asked to contact him by phone. That didn't work either. Since no meaningful agreement was reached, this review is the result.

The ambiance is nice, but the wait time was unusually long despite the small number of customers. Unfortunately, the prices are significantly too high for what's on offer. Even my child said the taste was more reminiscent of a school cafeteria than a restaurant. We weren't impressed by the creativity and quality.

Highly recommended. We ate incredibly delicious pork fillet tips there. Extremely good. The kitchen and chef are 5 stars.

Everything was delicious, friendly staff, great atmosphere

A superb location right next to Magdeburg Cathedral! Their credo: "Mediterranean and local fusion cuisine" was only vaguely represented on the menu. We opted for the "Caramelized Goat's Cheese" (€13.90) and the "Large Chicken Salad" (€24.90). Everything tasted delicious and was freshly prepared. That's something you can't do in this heat! However, the salad was overpriced! I couldn't choose a dressing; it probably had "honey/mustard" on it. Nor did they serve it with vinegar/oil and salt/pepper. In this price range, that's embarrassing. The goat's cheese was reasonably priced and couldn't have been better – fantastic. The service was excellent, and from our spot on the terrace, we could admire the cathedral in all its glory. We treated ourselves to a "Sarti Lemon" and a "Campari Spritz" as a digestif, which is an exception. Both drinks were richly presented and served at the perfect temperature. Very nice!

Food: Freshly prepared, very tasty, simply delicious. Service: Friendly waiters. The waiter who served us always had a smile on his face. Very nice and with a good sense of humor. 👍 Atmosphere: Beautiful view, beautifully decorated, well-chosen music. Beautiful plates, beautiful cutlery on the table, flowers, and so on. It was simply delicious, beautiful, and funny. I'd love to go again sometime.

After a meeting at the state parliament, we went out to dinner with colleagues. The food and service were good, and we were satisfied.

We were influenced by the last review. We found the asparagus very chewy, and everything tasted kind of bland. The only good thing were the fries. We were a bit disappointed with the food. Hence only 4 stars.

I don't normally write reviews, but I simply have to in this case. Yesterday, the two of us went to the Domkönig. My heavily pregnant wife couldn't sit at the table we had planned. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, the owner personally made sure we got a suitable table and was always happy to make sure we were comfortable. Our server was also incredibly friendly and attentive. Service is truly lived here. There's not much to say about the food, except that we were both completely captivated. I wouldn't have thought you could get pork like that. Not only was the quality high, but the quantity was more than sufficient. We just want to say thank you and we'll be happy to come back. 5 stars!

It was my first time there. The staff was very friendly, but at times everything was a bit disorganized. But nothing worth mentioning. I was very satisfied. The food was delicious, but I wasn't entirely convinced by the value for money. But I would happily go back again and would recommend it 😁

This was the most delicious vegan pasta dish I have ever tried.

Very nice restaurant right next to the cathedral. Very good cuisine that I can warmly recommend, no, I have to!!! The beef cheeks were a poem. Otherwise we had the fruity toman soup as a starter and the tagliatelle scampi as the second main course - both also great! If we visit Magdeburg again at some point, we will definitely stop by again.

We just wanted to look at the cathedral and passed the “Domkönig”, which also had great lunch options. You can sit outside and admire the cathedral. The service was very friendly, quick and had an eye for all guests. So please definitely go and eat asparagus there!! It was delicious: homemade hollandaise, asparagus not watery or overcooked... to the point! The schnitzel was completely ok. Really very tasty. Price with the location and quality of the food for EUR 25.90/person is completely okay. We would be happy to come back on our next visit to Magdeburg.

We know the restaurant (it's not a restaurant according to my imagination) from before - different name and different position - it was also a little better. The location is now great, the service is very friendly. Price-performance ratio can be better. It is not possible to order the predefined dishes differently - this means omitting one of the ingredients. The question arises for a restaurant: if the guests only want to drink - e.g. wine or beer. What else can you offer if you don't really want to eat? There are no alternatives - you have to order food, or just drink... At least two waiters couldn't offer us a better alternative.

We were here for lunch. We liked it, the food was tasty.

Wow, the food was amazing! In fact, people cook their own food here and don't just open a bag. You can see it in the kitchen and of course you can taste it too. We'll be back...

We can't give our visit a good rating. While the staff was very friendly, they were completely overwhelmed and disorganized. We had to wait a long time to place an order and wait even longer for the food. The schnitzel was frozen and over-fried. The quality of the food was disproportionate to the price!

As guests from Cologne, we spontaneously reserved a table and were thrilled. We ate very well in a very nice atmosphere and enjoyed the very friendly and professional service. A very good price-performance ratio.

Recommended. A little note to the team: If the focus is on pasta weeks and carbonara is offered on the menu, there should also be enough bacon.

I don't understand the reviews here: overpriced for frozen vegetables and schnitzel from the deep fryer? Salmon dry, cheeks I cook better, beef la la and spaetzle without taste, but with nuts....staff a bit overwhelmed and unfortunately not professional. Asking and serving the main guest is out of place...An additional €2 for "birthday service" per person for an ugly paper tablecloth...I can't believe it! The appointment at the restaurant was on a Sunday around 5:30 p.m....we had made reservations...a lot of the food was no longer in stock, cauliflower was probably particularly popular...reason: a lot of food was eaten here yesterday. You had a guilty conscience that you were now bothering the restaurant with your presence. At least that's what I got when I listened to the waitress. We then got food, unfortunately as I said, of poor quality, the taste was la la and sitting for a long time was obviously too much. Staff was tired and wanted to get off work. Too bad! What was that then? There probably won't be any regular guests here... at most, there will be one tourist every day due to the location... Conclusion: more appearance than reality!

Insanely delicious food. Super courteous service. Domkönig Burger is a bit too expensive as it is nothing special in itself. A note: if the menu lists schnapps with only one price, if you place a simple order you will also expect this price to be on the bill at the end. But the fact that doubles are always brought and billed without asking is not okay!

My daughter invited me here for her birthday. We had just caught a time where 3 birthday parties were getting their lunch. This made it take a little longer. But that didn't bother us, because it's comfortable here to talk, not just to eat. I like the furs for warmth that are everywhere on the chairs. I love fruit juice spritzers and here they have strawberry juice, something I haven't had in many years. The food was also very tasty: mushroom stroganoff with butter spaetzle. My daughter had the delicious Mediterranean pasta. What always bothers her about the menu cards in restaurants for her birthday in January: there are still some of the Christmas dishes on them that you somehow don't want to eat in the new year because they were enjoyed too often in December. But that's the way it is. You'll be lucky if you find a restaurant in January that doesn't have any company holidays. I liked it and I'll be back.

I spontaneously found a very nice place in the stylishly furnished restaurant. No run-of-the-mill cuisine, very tasty food. I recommend the goat cheese as a starter. The salad with vinaigrette is to die for. We'd love to come back!

Yesterday we were able to enjoy a great dinner in this very cozy restaurant. The service was top and the food was perfect.

The service was friendly, but also a bit distracted. Some drinks had to be ordered several times before they finally came! It was very loud there. (also because of the music, so everyone was obviously trying to talk louder) We waited a long time for food. Food was lukewarm and the roulade was quite al dente. All in all it tasted pretty good (23.90 euros)

We were there for dinner with several people. Staff was very friendly. We were looking forward to the evening because we received the restaurant as a recommendation. The food was at the table quickly. We had 2 starters that were delicious. Unfortunately, the main courses were nothing. Goose leg, game goulash and schnitzel were extremely dry. We wouldn't do that again.

Modern, clean furnishings and a pleasant atmosphere with friendly service. However, the food and drink offerings are quite unspectacular. Menu overall manageable. Aimed primarily at meat and fish lovers. Vegetarian guests can choose from a tomato soup, a salad, a tarte flambée and a pasta with zucchini. The lunch menu also offered a vegan lentil bolognese. It is positive, however, that some dishes can be adapted upon request, such as bruschetta without parmesan. Overall, there is a lack of creativity, especially when it comes to vegetarian or vegan options. Dessert selection with two options not very inviting. Solid midfield in terms of taste. Portions generous. The price on offer therefore remains within an acceptable range, although the dishes are quite simple. The range of drinks for non-alcoholic alternatives covers the usual standard range, without any creative accents. Expensive in terms of price. Overall, an evening without culinary highlights. Sophistication is missing – The element that could persuade guests to visit again. Kitchen is too simple and offers nothing that you couldn't prepare yourself at home, even on stressful days.

Four of us went here for dinner. Three times the beef cheeks, once the pork steak marinated in beer. I had the pork steak. The meat was well marinated so it had a hint of beer. This made it very tender. Fried potatoes, well, well fried, but not seasoned at all. There were also fried chanterelles. These weren't fried at all. They were steamed and not seasoned at all - no salt, pepper, fine onions, garlic, a bit of parsley, there was nothing on them. The salad that was on the plate was okay. For €25.90 I had different expectations here. The beef cheeks, I only tried the sauce once. This was tied too thickly. The black beer was too intense. Ready-made sauce with a dash of beer. The ambience was nice. The service attentive. Nice location. The food is too expensive for what you get. Maybe unlucky too. But that didn't convince me.

Top. A visit to the Cathedral King is worth it. The staff is nice and friendly. The food is delicious. The location is very nice. The price-performance ratio is right. I'd love to come back.

We were at the Domkönig for the second time today because we were really impressed by the food and ambience the first time there. There is a clear recommendation here and two thumbs up. The service is also on point and friendly. However, we had a voucher that we wanted to pay with. We were then told that we could neither credit the remaining amount nor make a cash payment. Therefore we could only use the remaining amount today... A little difficult after the main course, dessert and 2 drinks per person.... Tip or not. But at 20 euros or more it's a bit annoying and it's incomprehensible that it's handled this way here. Therefore it gets a thumbs down because there is no customer focus...

Unfortunately once and never again. The food wasn't warm, the asparagus wasn't cooked through and the sauce was cold. The potatoes weren't cooked either. The waiter said that a sauce would be enough when we asked if we could please get some more sauce for the asparagus. The prices are way too high for the quality of the food. We were also served the wrong drinks.
