After a long time, I gave this place another chance because the food really does taste good! Unfortunately, I have to say that I still find the staff's behavior completely unacceptable! The employee at the rotisserie has a completely dismissive expression (always has), which makes you want to run straight out the door, and he gives very rude answers, no matter how nice and friendly you are. The service staff should also receive some customer service training. It's best not to ask any questions, otherwise you'll easily get aggressive responses, with a risk of escalation! (I was there at lunchtime, and the place was barely half full). I'd rather just walk in without any communication, get my food, and leave immediately because this aggressive and rude tone is simply unacceptable! It's a shame because the food is really good, but the staff are beneath me. 😞 A very unpleasant place, so never again!

The ambiance is typical of a kebab shop, and the food tastes like it too. It's neither good nor bad. The downside is that I asked if I could pay by card. After being told I could, I ordered immediately and tried to pay five minutes later, but they complained that card payments were only accepted for orders over €10 (?). They should have just said so when I asked while ordering.

The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is also very friendly. So far, I've eaten doner kebab, pide with minced meat, dürüm, and künefe there, and everything tastes fantastic.

I paid 77.75 € for 2 paca, 1 sheet pan, 1 cola and tea. I was upset. I don't know if I would choose this again, paying so much and paying for tea. Or was there a mistake?

A very good restaurant, the doner kebab is among the best in the area. The grilled dishes are especially recommended, as is the ayran fresh from the fountain. The salad and cay are also really good. It always feels almost like a day off!

It took 45 minutes for us to get our drinks, and I had to ask again after 30 minutes. We had to wait a little over an hour for our food. People arrived after us and left in front of us. The fries didn't taste very good.

We celebrated our daughter's engagement at the restaurant and were absolutely thrilled! We immediately felt welcome upon arrival. Chef Benjamin was incredibly kind, attentive, and supported us in every way. A big thank you also goes to our waiter, Michael, who was very active, warm, and friendly throughout the evening. The food was excellent: fresh, delicious, and prepared with love. We were particularly impressed by the open and generous nature of the restaurant; hospitality is truly a priority here. All of our guests were satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A huge compliment to the entire team; we will definitely be back and highly recommend the restaurant!

the food was actually delicious, but we waited like 15 min to get our order and everything was okay the food came, the mezes bread also but then we found an hair in the tzatziki, absolutely disgusted but continued to eat our food and so we found an second hair on the pide we were like in shock I couldn’t hold it back and told them he was like sorry but with like an not a shocked expression, like it happened them before and at the end we found the THIRD one it was like end they came up with a dessert as an sorry but I wouldn’t recommend to go there, if my friend didn’t throw the hair away I could add a picture but what we experienced was absolutely tragic

Delicious, cozy, simply great – my new favorite spot

I used to eat there regularly. However, the restaurant got worse each time. My family and I ordered three doner kebabs and there was hardly any meat on them. The fries were also easy to count. I don't generally expect much from a doner kebab, but for the price they were simply bad. A snack truck in a Toom parking lot does it much better. Our drinks didn't arrive with the food, but 15 minutes later. After eating, we ordered tea. We waited 25 minutes for our tea and still nothing came. So we got up and left. I will definitely not be coming again.

The food is good. Prices are reasonable. The kitchen made a mistake, but I was given a discount without asking. I thought that was very good.

Unfortunately, you don't get any cutlery or napkins with takeout! We didn't notice until too late. We're very disappointed with such poor service!

We always enjoyed our visit. The food was okay. Unfortunately, you notice that certain dishes are often preferred. We ate faster and always received a starter with bread.

I've lost count of how many times I've resolved to give this place one last chance – but it's the same drama every time. There he is again: the slightly broader waiter, who seriously looks like the main character from Angry Birds – only without the humor. Incredibly unfriendly, rude, and completely overwhelmed with absolutely everything related to his job. My food? Ruined every time. Whether it's cold, wrong, half-cooked, or simply forgotten – you'd almost think it was intentional. I'm seriously starting to wonder if he has a personal mission to spoil my appetite. Requests, pleas, or follow-up questions are dismissed with an annoyed eye roll and a "Yes, yes" – only to be delivered the wrong food anyway, of course. How can someone like that even still work there? The service is a disgrace, the atmosphere is poisoned by his constant annoyance, and I've finally had enough. I want to eat in peace for once without losing my appetite because this guy is on duty again. Enough is enough. As long as this walking customer deterrent is running around, I won't set foot in this store again. He needs to be fired urgently—or at least promoted to a position where he no longer has contact with paying customers.

The food there is simply... Wow... I haven't had anything this juicy, spicy, aromatic in a long time. But recently, eating has somehow become less difficult. The grill plate consisted of fat, bones and gristle. The some meat there wasn't as seasoned as it once was, I hope that changes. The store itself is pretty, but it is very noisy.

Everything is tasty and fast. Prices are reasonable. I recommend adding Turkish coffee to the menu.

Ladies and Gentlemen We had dinner in your restaurant yesterday and unfortunately we are suffering from food poisoning today. Both my daughter and I are severely impaired. We have already consulted a doctor who attributes the symptoms to yesterday's kebab consumption. We presented a piece of the kebab to the doctor. He apparently examined it and determined that the meat was no longer edible. I have been a frequent guest at your restaurant, but unfortunately my visit today was a disappointment. I will not visit your restaurant again in the future.

As a 10-year-old customer, I unfortunately acted very unkindly when ordering today, as I always do every week, worth around 60 euros But it wasn't bad man. Can't order something elsewhere, it's a shame

It can be called the best Turkish restaurant in Gießen, it is an establishment that is full of many meat products of Turkish cuisine, which has been improving its quality for more than 30 years. The prices are reasonable, the taste is quite good, that's why it's in high demand, sometimes it's quite busy, so the service may be a little late, but it's worth it.

We had to wait a little longer than others. People who came after us got their food before us. I ordered Beyti and the taste wasn't good at all. Service was okay. It was way too warm inside.

I would have actually given the restaurant a very good rating because there was nothing significant to complain about with the food. It arrived quickly and was delicious. However, what made the visit inedible and really stressful were the countless fruit flies that were constantly flying around either on the face or on the food. I would have been more understanding in the summer, but unfortunately I can't justify that at the current time of year and I was very disappointed. Doesn't really speak for hygiene in a restaurant and really bothered me and my table companions.

Professional friendly food great food

We visited the restaurant through our relatives. Very friendly staff who look after the guests' needs like an army of ants in the restaurant. Very clean restaurant. The staff took the order quickly. To shorten the waiting time, homemade çaçık (tzatziki) was served with another homemade hot sauce and of course homemade bread. The mixed grill plate for 4 people was indescribably delicious. The rice, the lamb chops, the chicken wings, the Adana kebab and the meat skewer and even the fries were incredibly fresh and well prepared. (Photos will be added later) Price-performance ratio, top. Definitely recommended.👍🏻😀

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Service was extremely slow - the first dish was served after an hour, and the rest of the food came 45 minutes later. In addition, the behavior of the staff was not friendly at all. The entire experience was frustrating and not what I expected from a restaurant of this caliber.

Doner kebab was just disgusting

The most tasteless food I have ever eaten, the service is terrible, the waiters are extremely angry.

The food is quite ok. Unfortunately, we didn't get these starters at first because we apparently didn't order a grill plate, which we don't usually have. Others don't even sit properly and already have these breads with the starters without even looking at the menu. You should treat everyone equally.

It's 9 p.m., according to Google it's open until 1 a.m. and they say/claim that half of the menu is no longer available because it's sold out, all right guys

We ate here today with 4 people and were served very, very nicely and attentively. The food, Icelandic, Adana skewer, and lamb were extremely tasty, the salad was fresh and with fresh mint, as was the bread and the sauces. Seldom eaten so well, we love Turkish cuisine and are often in Istanbul, this restaurant can really compete with the restaurants in Turkey. Maybe you should put a glass with the cola and drink out of the straw, somehow it doesn't really fit. The price is completely ok and justified. We'll be back

Food good but waiting times too long

This shop is by far the best Turkish restaurant in Giessen and within a 20 km radius. Go, you won't regret it.

My wife really wanted to eat Turkish food after our shopping in Giessen. We ordered two grill plates and a chicken plate with fries for my son. Unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour for the food to arrive. The bread served was very dry and didn't taste good. The side salad was also disappointing in taste. The waiter was rude and spilled coke on my pants - without an apology or any reaction. I stayed calm and still wanted to enjoy my food. Unfortunately the portion was very small for the price and the food arrived cold. I can't recommend this store - it was my first and last visit.

Ordered chicken wings for pickup. Food looked like rubber. If I wanted to take plastic cutlery with me, I would be shouted at that I didn't need it. This won't work, never again!!

I don't understand some of the good reviews. This was the third time I've been to the restaurant at some intervals. The portions of the grill plates were absolutely tiny and also poorly presented. A tavuk Şiş plate (chicken skewer plate) costs a rather hefty but actually justified price. However, the customer then receives what feels like 100 grams of dry chicken breast pieces that taste like they came from a discount store. There is also a bowl of rice. About 30% of the plate is unfilled and you feel like you're eating leftovers. The wrong side dish was also brought to the table. When asked, the answer was in Turkish. Even after we made it clear that we didn't understand the waiter, communication continued in Turkish. I've had better experiences at other Turkish restaurants that have a much less "classy" feel.

Very stable kebab that makes you happy. For me the best kebab in Weststadt and top 3 in Giessen. If you like exotic ingredients or sauces, like at Central Döner, this might not be the right place for you, but Diyar still delivers very good kebabs and lahmacun that fill you up and leave you with a good feeling. The meat is not a minced meat skewer like in other kebab shops nearby, but rather nicely layered, juicy, crispy and with a lot of roasted aromas. Bread and the lahmacun are also toasted crispy. Service gets a point deducted, sometimes you have to wait a short time, even if you are alone, because the kebab is connected to a busy restaurant. But Dönermann is always nice and respects wishes. I can't say anything about the restaurant, but the food always smells good and makes you hungry when you walk past. Gives an extra point in the overall rating to compensate for inflation. For me a well above average kebab and gets a very strong 8/10

Had something to eat there with my family a few months ago. Were served by a slightly younger waiter. You could say he was flawed and only understood half of what we wanted. The floor was full of dirt and food leftovers. We were told something completely different than what we wanted. Despite that, the food wasn't that bad but it could be better Had a bad experience with the service 👌

The food is always very tasty there. Especially the garlic sauce. Conditions are polite, there's a lot to choose from and it's clean. I always feel very comfortable, and there is always enough space to eat on site 😊

We had pide and tavuk sis. Were happy with everything. The starters were particularly delicious. The only thing I really liked was the salad that you were supposed to “season” yourself with the ready-made dressing on the table. I would have liked a delicious dressing from home.

Me and my wife ordered food there today worth €27.50. Unfortunately, nothing you ordered arrived and when you complained you were passed on from employee to employee. Everyone wasn't to blame and yet everyone thought the other employee was to blame / there was no solution to it and now we have €27.50 worth of food that we can't eat because we have an allergy to it. Worst decision after work based on that to be happy honestly

Adana Dürüm was very good. Friendly service and a clean, pleasant atmosphere. Recommended! Edit: seems to have gotten significantly worse. Worst Adana Dürüm of my life. Starter was very dry bread. Doner kebab was also lacking.

Friends invited me to eat kebab. I was surprised about the restaurant because it is not a kebab shop, but a really nice Turkish restaurant. I'll definitely go there again. Really great. It's unfortunate that you can't order a beer or a glass of wine there, but it's not the end of the world either
