Honestly, a huge disappointment… First of all, they should have specified that it was an Indian restaurant, not Turkish—no one speaks Turkish, despite the name and menu suggesting otherwise. The presentation of the dishes is awful; nothing is appetizing, and there's no flavor at all. The meze clearly looked frozen, and to top it all off, they serve salami, which is completely out of place. Hygiene-wise, it's really questionable; the plates don't inspire confidence. And finally, it's impossible to pay by card: they've installed an ATM with a 12.6% fee. Honestly, avoid this place!

Poor quality food, I could almost bet the the meat were reheated, poor portion compared to price, me and my brother got sick from it. They had one background song that keep repeating which is super annoying.

I ate there with a friend and I have to say, I was absolutely thrilled. The service was very friendly and quick, and the food was fantastic. Next time I'm in Freiburg, I'll definitely eat here again.

The food tastes bad, and the quality has declined significantly in recent years. The prices are high, and the drinks are served in a glass that arrives directly instead of being opened and served in front of the customer. It's a shame.

Actually, it's a pretty nice place. I liked the menu, but the vegetables were completely overcooked and way too soft. The bread served with it also looked better than it tasted. The location is convenient for those visiting the concert hall and is also close to the main train station.

The meat is rubbery and bears no resemblance to real meat. No card payments are accepted; there may even be tax evasion involved. The prices are completely exorbitant. Absolutely not recommended – the food was disgusting. Go to a regular snack bar and eat a doner kebab there; it's worlds better.

From the outside, Ocakbaşı looks like a restaurant. But it's a filthy, unintelligible place with no connection to Ocakbaşı. They've put a halal sign on the door, but not a single person speaks Turkish. When you first arrive, you'll see the carpets on the floor leading down to the sink, and you'll see what I mean. You could spread those carpets out on Freiburg Square and they wouldn't be so dirty. It's a disgusting, filthy place. I'd love to see the kitchen. Or maybe I wouldn't even want to!

This is the first time I was served a plate of Adana WITHOUT lavash and charged for 2 pieces of bread 😂 They really need to have hygiene training, the plates and the carpet inside are so dirty that you can't see the colors of the carpet (original red) anymore... We asked for the dessert menu and no one brought it as if they didn't want us to order dessert at the end... Then for the payment, I wanted to pay by credit card and I was refused 🙅 THEY INSTALLED INSIDE THE RESTAURANT (shameful) A BILL DISPENSING MACHINE WITH 12.6% EXTRA FEES FOR EACH TRANSITION... RUN AWAY!!!

We ordered Iskender Kebab. Unfortunately, we had the impression that it was a ready-made, probably frozen, doner kebab. We had to pay €19.90 per person for this ready-made product. We also ordered eggplant salad as an appetizer, but it was served in a very small portion – rather disappointing considering the price. Overall, we were unfortunately not satisfied. We hope the restaurant reconsiders its service and quality standards in the future.

I ordered item 140 from the menu. It was supposedly tender pieces of lamb on eggplant puree. Sorry, but the food was terrible! The meat was tough, dry, and barely seasoned. The eggplant puree tasted like cream sauce from a packet with a bit of eggplant smeared on it. The flatbread, advertised as homemade, was at best just reheated. After I told the waiter I wasn't satisfied with the food, he at least offered me a coffee or tea. That's why the service was rated 3 stars.

We were in Freiburg as a group at the beginning of May and decided to try the Divan. We had the grill plates. Absolutely AMAZING! There was more than enough food on them, and we were more than full. And then there were the generous side dishes. The staff were very, very friendly. I highly recommend it. Go there! Next time I'm in Freiburg, I'll go back!

Super delicious food, great service. The downside, however, is that you can only pay in cash, and it's only hidden away next to the entrance. This should be possible everywhere these days. So I went to the bank and paid. I went down to the Sparkasse ATM toward the train station not far away, but it's still annoying :)

Very, very tasty food and at really fair prices (9.90 for lunch). We had vegetables with yogurt sauce and turkey strips with chickpeas and peppers in a red sauce. There are many gluten-free dishes. I can really only highly recommend this restaurant!

Absolutely disgusting! This has nothing to do with Turkish cuisine. The so-called "chef" isn't Turkish and serves disgusting food. The grill plate arrived with the cheapest doner meat, so you have to wonder if it's even meat. We paid €350 for a table and went home hungry. The service is terrible; we had to wait an hour for our food. It's unacceptable!

We came here at 19:00 on 25.04.2025 to let my German friends taste Turkish desserts. Unfortunately, they didn't have kunefe despite it being a busy Friday night. We ordered a portion of baklava, a portion of halva and a portion of sütluç. The syrup of the baklava was almost non-existent and it was way below my expectations. To be honest, I can give it a score of 3.5 out of 10, the highest. I didn't have high expectations from the halva anyway, it was served with two slices of lemon next to the tahini halva that can be found in any standard Turkish market. I can't say anything negative, but it was pretty standard. As for the rice pudding, here's what happened: I asked if it was baked rice pudding or regular. As a Turk, I know both styles. I was told that the rice pudding was cold. Of course it would be cold, but when I asked how it was cooked, the attendant said he didn't know. The baked rice pudding was served. Its taste and sugar were quite good, but rice pudding made in the oven is a little browned on top. The sugar caramelizes a bit, but the top was completely white. In short, all three products fail in price-performance evaluation. Especially the baklava was clearly a big disappointment. As drinks, we ordered Turkish coffee with two sugars and tea with apples. The presentation of the Turkish coffees was nice; something like a burnt doner was made. But unfortunately, the coffees were unsweetened. Sugar was also added to the tea, but there was no spoon to stir the sugar, we stirred it with the spoon that came for the desserts. In short, I do not recommend Divan, which is a place with above-average prices in Freiburg, for coffee and dessert.

Disappointing and misleading – has nothing to do with real Ocakbaşı I ordered a mixed grill plate - what I got included kebab meat. On a mixed grill plate? Absolutely inappropriate. Unfortunately, the taste of the whole thing was disappointing. To explain: A real Ocakbaşı is a traditional Turkish grill restaurant where the meat is freshly prepared over charcoal on an open grill - often right in front of the guests. Authenticity, quality and real craftsmanship are the focus. Unfortunately there was no sign of that here. The mixed meze also seemed bland – basically a Çoban salad with a bit of decoration, plus a bonus raw piece of sucuk on the plate. I drove over 100 km hoping for an authentic meal - and was really disappointed. I seriously wonder how these many positive reviews come about. The staff was overwhelmed, the food was inconsistent, and unfortunately the whole thing had nothing to do with real Turkish cuisine. Too bad. Once and never again.

Lentil soup was phenomenal and lamb skewers and sauces were also very tasty. Meat was tender and very flavorful. You can only pay with cash. There is even an ATM in the restaurant if you don't have any cash with you.

Hygiene was bad. Five of us went and no one was satisfied with their plate. When we told him that one of us had a hair on his plate, the waiter did not care at all and did not even apologize. We ordered Ali Nazik and the plate that arrived had nothing to do with Alinazik. It tasted and looked very bad. They made a paste of eggplant and spread it on a plate, and brought out a handful of dry ground meat-like thing. The business was trying to serve Turkish food, but there was not a single Turk. Unfortunately, these days there are meals prepared by chefs who know little about it. We were forgotten and after about an hour of waiting we were served a burnt Adana Kebap, which unfortunately had no taste as the typical spices were missing. When we reported it to the waiter from India, the head waiter from Kosovo, and later to the owner from Tacikistan, everyone recommended that we should order lamb skewers next time, if there will be a next time at all.

We had a lovely evening in the divan. The food was very tasty and we were impressed by the quality of the dishes. Overall, the portions were okay, although the skewers (Kuzu Sis had) could have been a little more generous. A small downer: Despite having a reservation, we had to wait about 10 minutes for our table. It wasn't dramatic, but still a bit unexpected. The service was friendly and the ambience was pleasant - so overall a good experience with some minor drawbacks. We'd love to come back!

Visitamos antes de nuestra visita al teatro, la comida era decepcionante, amable con el servicio (a veces). La visita aquí no fue tan agradable. El Begendi ( 140 ) era un plato lleno de puré de berenjenas y una cucharada de trozos de cordero absolutamente sin valor de € 22 , 90 . El Salatali Döner para 16 , 50 era una porción bastante grande, sin embargo la carne era tibia. Intentó varias veces llamar la atención del camarero, sin éxito. Tuvimos una visita al teatro y no podíamos perder tiempo esperando que alguien atendiera nuestra queja. Solo ACEPTAN DINERO EN EFECTIVO. Un inconveniente. Los baños están muy limpios. Las alfombras del restaurante parecen manadas de búfalos caminando sobre él durante los últimos 15 años. ¡Límpialo!
