DIMU Restaurant in Freising

At the DiMu restaurant, I had cod with boiled potatoes – it was truly delicious and highly recommended. However, I was disappointed with the aperitif (Limoncello Spritz): too much ice and water, so there was hardly any noticeable flavor or alcohol. The bottled beer I ordered later, on the other hand, was fine. Overall, the food was good, but the drinks could be improved.

The service is and remains a disaster. You need a lot of patience and even more time.

We celebrated our wedding at DIMU and were completely delighted! The food was incredibly delicious and the portions were very generous. The waitresses and waiters did a fantastic job and were friendly and on the ball at all times! The bartender has a very extensive repertoire of cocktails and long drinks and fulfilled virtually every drink request. The location and ambiance are first-class anyway and created a dreamy atmosphere on this sunny day. It was perfect! Thank you so much ❤️

Waited 15 minutes for two drinks, only got one of the two on the first "attempt" to serve, waited another 5 minutes, and when I asked for it, received a rude response from the waiter. I was served Augustiner beer in Weihenstephan glasses because they supposedly didn't have enough glasses. The menu simply listed "Helles" with no further information... On top of that, right at the beginning of my visit, I walked into a gray, empty sunshade and injured myself (there was no sunshade inside). Several other people also walked into it in the 20 minutes I waited. The tenant has changed, but the service is still beyond amateurish. Unfortunately.

As a wedding photographer in Freising, I was privileged to photograph a wedding celebration here – and I was absolutely thrilled! The wedding venue on Freising's Cathedral Hill is in a fantastic location, offering a wonderful blend of cozy atmosphere and timeless elegance. The service was super friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and everything was perfectly organized. There are also many great spots in the immediate vicinity for a bridal shoot. For me, this is one of the most beautiful locations in Freising, both for weddings and private events. I'm already looking forward to returning for a private event!

One star is deducted for the slightly higher prices, and the second star has to be deducted because you would expect good service at these prices. Unfortunately, both a drink and breakfast were forgotten in our order. It seemed like everything was a bit chaotic.

We wanted to have a coffee at 5:20 p.m. today. We were refused, told that the coffee machine was already turned off, even though they're open until 6 p.m. 🙈. At DIMU, the customer is obviously not that important; the main thing is that the employees finish work on time. So, they have to shut down early. Fortunately, there are other cafés nearby that are open until 6 p.m. and have a better understanding of the service philosophy of a restaurant/café.

I can't comment on the food. I had reserved a table and arrived on time. A table for me – I wanted a hot meal – had to be found. They offered me a tiny standing table with a stool. I have back problems, so this solution wasn't acceptable. Other guests arrived along the way and simply sat down wherever they could find space. So presumably, there wasn't a seat available for me either. I was told to wait until a group had paid, then I could have sat there. After waiting 20 minutes, with still no way of knowing when the waiter would finally check everyone's bill, I asked a waitress if I could order. Of course, that wasn't possible without a seat. The meal would have taken about 15 minutes, after which I would have had another 10 minutes to wolf it down. The restaurant's organization is not a testament to its competence. Anyone who wants to eat there needs to plan on at least 1.5 hours. Definitely not recommended.

I had the cheese spaetzle. They weren't tasty. There was far too much cheese, and the homemade roasted onions didn't taste fresh. Service was nice, the ambiance on the terrace was okay, but the chairs were very uncomfortable.

Beautiful view, friendly staff, and, above all, the food is delicious. This is my second time here; we ordered three schnitzels and one creamed mushroom. Everything was delicious. The cakes are also very tasty. The prices are still reasonable at around €25 per person, but with dessert, they're over €30. One of the best restaurants in Freising, highly recommended even for just an afternoon coffee with cake (€4.50). Followed by a stroll through the historic town!

A very cool and friendly atmosphere. Especially on warm summer nights, it's a great place for an after-work event or to enjoy the view of Freising with friends. The service is very friendly, and you feel welcome. Great location.

Dimu has become a go-to spot since the new team and new tenant. The food is delicious, and the price is justified in my opinion! 🌸😇 The ambiance is simply breathtaking! This view of all of Freising and the sunset in the evening is a must-see. The team is super friendly and attentive. There's plenty of parking right around the corner. And thanks to the elevator and a separate entrance to the restaurant and restrooms, it's also wheelchair accessible. ☺️ If you want to spend a nice, relaxing day with friends or family, this is the place to be. 10/10 - We were at the DJ Live Event today - it was amazing. A short break in Freising on the Domberg. Relaxed with an Aperol liqueur on the terrace overlooking Freising's skyline - a perfect evening. We'd love to come back <3 Thanks to Vani and Flo and the whole team for the fantastic organization!

This location offers a great terrace with beautiful views of Freising and the surrounding area. However, the elevator has always been broken during our visits. The steep stairs can be a challenge for people with limited mobility. The food was okay, especially the fried potatoes. The roast beef with onions could have been more tender. The sauce and salads were very well seasoned. The portions were generous; everyone should be able to eat their fill. The cake was delicious and the drinks were good. Fair value for money. The service was friendly. Reservations are recommended. The "Am Wörth" parking garage is nearby.

Our visit to Dimu on Whit Monday left nothing to be desired. We enjoyed the sunny weather and the magnificent view. The food was beautifully presented and tasted excellent. The drinks were also delicious and very refreshing. The staff were always ready with a lighthearted joke and were polite and accommodating. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

We had lunch at Dimu. We had a salad with shrimp skewers and a Caesar salad with chicken. The meat wasn't cooked through, the salad had brown spots, and the shrimp weren't grilled. Each salad was €20 🙈

If you want a great view of Freising and a refreshing drink, I recommend this place. Unfortunately, the service is completely understaffed for larger groups. Our table for 10 people outside wasn't properly set up either. An umbrella was broken, which becomes difficult in the midday sun... Our server was friendly, but barely had time to ask us for new drinks, etc. The food is okay. My Kässpätzle was just Spätzle with cheese sauce. There were too many fried onions for my taste, but they were still delicious. The side salad was good, but unfortunately, one of the lettuce leaves had brown spots; the kitchen should pay more attention to that. The fact that there were no corn-fed chicken, arrabiata, or fries available by 12 noon is more of a testament to the kitchen's poor planning. Nevertheless, we had a lovely break there.

Unfortunately, our visit to this café was very disappointing. Even ordering proved to be a test of patience: it took a full 35 minutes for anyone to take our order - despite multiple attempts to get the staff's attention. Afterwards we had to wait another 30 minutes for two simple coffees. The cake didn't arrive until 15 minutes later, a total of 45 minutes after ordering. The staff seemed stressed and overwhelmed throughout. Polite questions were sometimes responded to in a snippy or annoyed manner, which had an additional negative impact on the overall impression. The ambience of the cafe may be attractive, but the service was disorganized, slow and unwelcoming. For a place where you want to relax, the visit was anything but pleasant. It's a shame - we expected more.

Food cannot be assessed because after 50 minutes no food had arrived at the table. Service: underground! You start normally by taking your order, then the drinks arrive relatively quickly, but that's it for service. After 30 minutes, a waitress comes to the table and casually explains that the saddle of beef is out and that you should just order something else. These service laypeople don't come up with the crazy idea of ​​checking this immediately after accepting the order. The final blow was the "so-called" restaurant manager, after which you paid for the drinks after 50 minutes and wanted to leave: "Give us another chance in the future"... Yes, exactly, but only under a new tenant with professional staff. If you read the other Google reviews, the change of tenant was unfortunately another step backwards and not progress! It's a real shame, because the location at the top of the Domberg, especially in summer, with the viewing terrace would have the potential for a top restaurant.

It is one of the most beautiful locations for drinks in all of Freising, especially when the weather is nice. Unfortunately the service is not good, everyone is very nice, but it takes a lot of time before you can even order... We wanted to order something at 5:40 p.m., then we were told that it was no longer possible because it closed at 6 p.m. Unfortunately we weren't asked because we would have ordered something 15 minutes beforehand. If the service was better, it would really be the place to go for drinks in Freising :)

We had breakfast here. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is very child-friendly and courteous. The food is high quality, fresh and delicious. In addition to vegan dishes, there are also special sandwiches, French toast, cakes and white sausages. The prices are more than justified. The only wish would be decaffeinated coffee from the portafilter machine.

During our visit to DIMU we chose a small table for two, but the gentleman in service kindly pointed out that the plates of our selected dishes were too large for this table. Since it was still available, he recommended the table for 5 to us. Suuuuper 👍 Our dishes, beetroot gazpacho and green risotto, were seasoned perfectly. The Lavazza coffee and the chocolate tart were also so good that we had nothing to complain about. From 2:30 p.m. onwards, the Restsurant Café was so full that there were only a few free seats inside and outside. We will be happy to dine here again. Also because the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Actually, it's a nice location with a great view. I've been here a few times, and unfortunately, the service is consistently abysmal. The wait is endless and sometimes very unfriendly. At 5:35 p.m., you can't get anything to drink "because we close at 6:00 p.m." I hope the restaurant management gets this under control in time.

Since the change of management, the food has been completely random, mass-produced, tasteless pub fare, everything, including the cakes. The food before was simply exceptional and of truly excellent quality. What a shame. We also had to wait a very long time, which was clearly not the fault of the waiters, but rather the poor kitchen and beverage organization. Very, very annoying, and no longer a flagship for the Domberg, quite the opposite. This special place doesn't deserve that.

If the weather is nice or the terrace is open, I can only advise against it! Unfortunately, even after a change of tenant (with seemingly the same staff), the service is abysmal. 30 minutes to order, 20 minutes for two cold drinks. YES, the terrace was full (Sun-3 p.m.), but when waiters bring two beers, go back empty-handed, or don't know which "numbered!" table the food is going to and repeatedly wander around or go back, it's no surprise. The young man/waiter also preferred carrying his tablet in his second hand to a drink. It's a shame that the change of tenant didn't bring anything, absolutely nothing. With fit waiters (see Augustiner) and more women-power behind the counter, well organized, this is a gold mine. So I'll give the tenant a summer. Max!

The view is really beautiful and I liked it the first time. The food was good that time, so I went back. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good the second time, but I thought maybe it was just a one-off. However, I was disappointed the third time. The quality of the food has declined. While the staff is generally friendly, it seems to depend a lot on how busy it is. It's a shame I had to change my original review to five stars.

We absolutely love this wonderful place. In summer, the great sun terrace, in winter, the beautiful ambiance inside. Braco and his team serve outstanding dishes and delicious drinks. My children love it just as much as we adults do. I'm very happy to have such a highlight on the Domberg. And the catering for my birthday party was also outstanding. "So delicious," was the feedback from my guests.

Great food, nice ambience - but there is a bit of room for improvement in the service. We sat outside and the waitresses were a bit overwhelmed. However, they had to wade through deep gravel - which is of course not so easy for the service team. They were not to be envied. Shady places are also rather rare in the heat.

The DIMU on Domberg is a real place of enjoyment in Freising. In a stylish, modern ambience and with a view of the cathedral, the restaurant offers an excellent combination of Bavarian and international cuisine at a high level. The seasonally changing menu impresses with creative dishes made from regional ingredients that not only impress in terms of taste but also visually. The service is attentive, warm and competent, especially when it comes to the wine selection. Conclusion: The DIMU is a top address for gourmets and everyone who is looking for a special culinary experience.

The ambience and location of the dimu restaurant are really nice and appealing, but unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. The service left a lot to be desired: the coffee stood for too long, so it was served cold, and the service was unfriendly. In addition, we didn't receive any entertainment receipts and had to wait a long time for the bill despite the low capacity utilization. Given the prices charged here, you should actually be able to expect good service. Unfortunately, this was not fulfilled.

Sat there for over 30 minutes without even an order being taken. Other guests simply put the money on the table and left because it took so long to get paid. Sometimes there was no service to be seen.

The food (veal tartar and tarte flambée) is very good and reasonably priced. The ambiance is elegant. The organization is chaotic, but the owners apparently don't even want to acknowledge this.

Unfriendly, inflexible, completely wrong, guests are sent away when there is space available, but they didn't need it, once we got a space, you are treated like a supplicant, it's nicer somewhere else. But some seem to need such treatment.

The Diocesan Museum deserves a more professionally managed/organized venue.

The location is great. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the staff or the quality of the drinks (cocktails) or the food. It's just that the prices are high here. It's a shame, but due to the high number of daily walk-in customers there is no need to bother with customers here.

A luxurious viewing terrace overlooking the rooftops of Freising: Up here, you sit like royalty, be pampered, and enjoy the wonderful view—what more could you want? The spacious interior is also magnificently designed, with a fantastic bar that's fully equipped.

We were there on Sunday. There were still a few seats available in the lovely outdoor area. Very nice! But: the staff were visibly confused. No one knew what to serve at which table. A cake wasn't even delivered! A disinterested server said, "That can happen." When we asked, "Could we pay then?" the reply was, "I don't know what they had." After a long wait, I paid at the counter.

The service was absolutely terrible. Rude staff made guests wait forever. They were reluctant to take orders. The food was extremely expensive and felt like an appetizer rather than a main course. The quality wasn't even good. Two salad portions were instead divided into three. This is truly outrageous for €16!

The restaurant's location, especially the outdoor area, is truly fantastic. The decor is high-quality, and everything would be perfect if the service weren't so abysmal. We were here on a Sunday and were served by a waitress who made you feel like you weren't the customer, but rather an unwanted side effect in the restaurant business.

The restaurant is located directly in the Diocesan Museum, with a beautiful view over Freising. The food is okay, sounding more refined than it actually is. It could often use more salt or—as in my case—less cooking time. The squid was quite tough. After a tour of the museum, however, it's a good place for coffee and cake. The staff was helplessly overwhelmed, far too few for the number of tables outside. The interior is also very nice and modernly furnished.

We were here today after visiting the Tassilo exhibition. The terrace offers a fantastic view of Freising and the surrounding area. That alone is worth a visit. We ate, though, and I have to say, all four dishes were more than convincing. For example, the Wiener Schnitzel with cucumber and potato salad – a dream – very nice breading, tender meat – just as it should be, and the salad topped it all off – freshly made and perfectly seasoned (just like your grandma's). We were invited today and had made a reservation for 4 people. We chose tuna tataki and pimientos de padron from the great selection..very, very tasty and fresh! With great bread! Beautiful view of the city I was born in!..but the landlord should really think seriously about which staff he lets loose on guests!!!! I own a business and if I had such a poor consensus on reviews... THAT WOULD BE WORTH MORE THAN A CHAT!! That's completely unacceptable.. The lady is rude..literally snatching the menu out of the paying guest's hand!! Excuse me?..and turning down a homemade ginger lemonade... - with the requested basil...!! ..but then you'd have to pay a 1 euro extra! Excuse me? "It was only available with ginger OR basil!!! OK...1 euro more...but unfortunately there was no ginger left in it! Unbelievable...the service is terrible! And we had two hosts over 80 years old...you don't address them with 'you' or 'you'! No, really not. Upper-class price category does not match the service class!

I've been there twice. Once for breakfast, once in the afternoon. Both times the food was very tasty. I like to pay reasonable prices for good quality, so I think the prices are okay. The ingredients were all freshly prepared, no convenience or ready-made sauce. My motto is that I would rather have a small menu with fresh dishes than loads of frozen food and Dimu lives up to that.
