Originally Bavarian and a bit expensive.

The food tasted very good!!@ But waiting 1.5 hours for the food and getting greasy excuses from the boss that the kitchen was overrun because of the old town festival is not possible. Then I'm not allowed to accept so many table reservations! And we had reservations!! And then 17 meals on the bill, for 15 people... Roast pork (2 x) was out, but it was on the bill. The service itself was very friendly! Just to clarify: I have never demanded or asked for a liquor!!! And further: If I, as a restaurant operator, accept reservations, I have to be able to serve them and not add more and more tables outside just for the sake of sales..... I wouldn't have said anything if we had come spontaneously, but we had a long time reserved in advance!!!

Staff was great, beer was great. shame I didn't get to eat more here.

Very limited selection of vegetarian dishes. Service was friendly and okay, but could be a little more attentive. It's nice to sit in the middle of the market square, not really comfortable on the beer garden chairs with a skirt or shorts.

Our No. 1 in Freising and the surrounding area! A MUST for us every time we visit Freising! Keep it up and best wishes from Berlin!

The shandy was delicious. Unfortunately the bartender wasn't able to fill my bike bottle with water. Too bad and bad service

Our waiter was very nice and the boss also welcomed us in a friendly manner. Unfortunately, the small portion size of the chicken in the crispy coating didn't fill me up. Personally, I found the price too high for the size.

On Friday evening after the Dtld-Spain quarter-finals, fold up the chairs outside at 9.30 p.m. Beer garden still half full and a lot going on in the city. An impudence. Staff have been trying to fend off customers for half an hour!!!

Closes at 11 p.m. and the chairs are folded up in the occupied restaurant at 9:30 p.m. Warm food until 9.30 p.m., at 9.05 p.m. there is nothing left. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Drinks at a pleasant temperature. Goulash (beef) encourages you to drink even more. And according to my wife, I season and salt heavily. Drinks have to be brought to the first floor...that's where you finally find the toilet. A man in front of me, me and 4!! others after me were too stupid to turn on the tap to wash their hands. Well, it worked perfectly in the girls' toilet. After well-intentioned advice, I received an explanation that everything worked 🥱 Of course, there were six stupid people at the meeting in the toilet 😂

Because I was already there in March, we made another reservation for Sunday June 9th, 2024. Yesterday the food was terrible. Plates were arranged carelessly, dishes were scarce. Instead of accessories (sauce and potatoes) I wanted salad, but was charged twice for complete dishes. Salad was a disgrace, mainly just lettuce leaves (even brown) and 13 euros for that???? Phew. The meat was totally seasoned and stringy. The schnitzels cold. Service unfriendly. Seating only on wooden benches - very uncomfortable. etc etc etc

Can't listen properly. Dishes shortage... In terms of time they said it would be another 2-3 minutes, well they had to wait forever The food wasn't that great. The seating options are extremely uncomfortable, hard wood with no seat cushions or anything similar and no backrest to lean on. I don't really recommend it, we left unhappy

Incredibly outrageous. We made a reservation for 30 people and due to a delay of between 15-20 minutes (although it was announced by phone) we were canceled when we were already in the restaurant. The food was pre-ordered, so 15 minutes really wouldn't have been a problem. Above all, let us arrive beforehand and then cancel on site. Incredible.

The Freisinger Augustiner is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and the entire service team is incredibly attentive, friendly and accommodating. It's wonderful to have a restaurant where children are welcome and interact with them. Even when the Augustiner is full, you always feel well looked after. The prices are good and justified for the quality. There are always daily or weekly specials, all of which are delicious! We look forward to our next visit!

Typically Bavarian inn with home-style cooking in a cozy atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and I was served quite quickly - even though it was quite busy and there were a few larger groups there. The food was good and plentiful, the price was fair.

This place was absolutely packed and I struggled to get a seat (ended up sitting out of the main room in a corridor-type area), but it didn't matter. The food was absolutely divine, so, so yummy and big portion! The building was beautiful and the service was great. Exactly what I was looking for on my last night in Bavaria before flying the next morning. Highly recommend!

The food and beer is very good, the service is friendly and quick but unfortunately the menu has not been updated. This shouldn't actually happen. All in all, you can eat and drink here and are well looked after. We will be back. Thank you

We arrived a few minutes before 17:00. They said we could reserve a seat until 6:00 p.m. They asked if we wanted this menu, but we only wanted the drinks menu. We did not get! We asked for 3 beers, but the kind waiter didn't ask us what kind. He went and brought it, even though we wanted to ask for different ones. I should add that we spoke to him in English and German for the sake of safety. He brought it out and we drank it, we wanted to ask for 2 more beers. We started to say it, but he left. Again, we just wanted to ask for different beers, but he left us there. Then, with such phlegmatic behavior, we decided to eat something else there, so I asked for the bill. So my opinion is completely justified, because every other guest was welcomed with a big smile, but we were not, because the respected owner refers to the fact that we are Hungarians. This shows racism, which is unacceptable. By the way, the person who served us was quite slow and did not speak English at a basic level. Our knowledge of the German language is not native language level, but we tried to speak to him in German out of respect and practice. This behavior is expressly not allowed from an owner, I hope in the future they will hire a colleague with relevant qualifications who will stand his ground. i liked the goulash most. roast pork was good. the fish and chips is not impressive. the atmosphere is great, and for a traveler, i enjoyed the architecture and interior.

Really nice place! I've had the Schnitzel which was delicious, a soup and a beer. Paid around 30€.

Unfassbar gut wie immer! Wir hatten Fish & Chips und das Hähnchen in Kerndlpanade. Sehr gut. Dazu einen Krautsalat und zum Nachtisch ein Schokotörtchen mit Lavakern. Richtig gut!

I've enjoyed being a guest so far, but that changed last Saturday. I was there with friends to have a drink before dinner and visited the left side with the bar. The waiter there was constantly smoking outside and relatively unfriendly. When I ordered, he directly attacked me verbally when I wanted to order a non-alcoholic beer. I'm not allowed to drink alcohol for medical reasons and I was also a driver. He then insulted me as a coward and said he doesn't serve anything like that. It was only after a bit of back and forth that I got my order and was mocked by him several times in front of others. Everyone should drink whatever they want, but such behavior is absurd. What about pregnant women, dry alcoholics or people who can't or don't want to drink alcohol?! The fact that the Augustinians approve of and tolerate something like this is not okay. I enjoyed being a guest often, but that was our last time!

Der Schweinebraten sollte speziell in einem bayrischen Wirtshaus geschmacklich sowie im Preis/Leistungsverhältnis bestens sein. Empfand ich hier allerdings nicht so. Enttäuschend vor allem auch die Portionsgrösse. Das Bier schmeckt, aber das tut es auch dort, wo man einen guten Schweinebraten findet.

Unfortunately, my visit there yesterday wasn't a good experience at all. I ordered the vegetarian “roasted Maultaschen with melted onions”. There were 2 (!) Maultaschen in a little broth with a bit of cooked onion on top. This had little to do with what I ordered. Above all, I wasn't even full from 2 Maultaschen for a hefty price of €14.50... The price was justified in comparison to the expensive prices of the meat dishes. At least the portion should be adjusted so that you can call it a main course and get full from it. In any case, I won't go there anymore.

After some initial difficulties eating, it was great. The problem was solved problem-free and professionally by the restaurant manager.

Friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere and the ox cheeks were also delicious. It's great that Bavarian pub culture still exists at this level.

Shame on the name Augustiner, the beer really deserves better food. The service was friendly. The prices for this food are outrageous.

The worst roast pork (if you can even call it that) I have ever eaten (or not eaten). One star is still too many. The service was actually top notch, but the complaint was handled extremely unprofessionally (which the service obviously couldn't do anything about).

The service was very attentive and the atmosphere was “typical pub”. Unfortunately, the food was not seasoned at all (this affected all of the dishes at our table) and the steak was seriously underdone. Unfortunately, desserts came cold. All in all, unfortunately not a suitable price/performance ratio.

Wir waren mit Freunden dort zum Abendessen Das Restaurant war ziemlich voll besetzt und wir wurden trotzdem freundlich empfangen und sehr freundlich bedient. At Augustiner you can always rely on consistent standards, no matter which restaurant you visit. The Freisinger has a very nice atmosphere and always reminds me of restaurants from my childhood. What can I say, the best beer in Munich, good food and a fantastic outdoor area in summer (in the middle of the city center). I also recommend the small separate bar, which is only open on certain days.

Gemütlicher Platz für a Hoibe oder zwoa. Bier ist priceless. Essen könnte durchaus besser sein.

Ich bringe meine Freunde, die aus Übersee zu Besuch sind, gerne zum Augustiner nach Freising, um gutes Bier zu genießen und bayerische Gerichte zu probieren. Ich habe hier nur guten Service erlebt. Die Bedienung zögert nicht, mit meinen Gästen Englisch zu sprechen, was ihnen das Gefühl gibt, im Restaurant sehr willkommen zu sein, sodass ich weiterhin meine Freunde hierher bringen werde.

Urige Atmosphäre, freundlicher & schneller Service! Meine Außer-Haus Bestellung war konnte ich schon nach 8 Minuten abholen - wo gibt‘s denn sowas? Und das bei vollem Haus & trotzdem sehr freundlich und aufmerksam gewesen. Wirklich toller Service und natürlich auch super leckeres Essen - sehr empfehlenswert! Sowohl zum Ausgehen, als auch für Außer Haus - dieses Lokal ist eine (bayerische) Bereicherung für Freising!

Our first dinner in a restaurant in 2024 was a thoroughly enjoyable experience: the Augustiner in Freising is a solid, traditional Bavarian restaurant with smart innovations in the menu like the hamburgers (which I tried and were delicious). To accompany the high-level food there is an excellent beer. The service was very kind and competent.

Die Knödel waren nicht durch. Die Schweinebratensosse war ein Fertigprodukt. Das Dressing des Salats schmeckte nach sehr wenig. Einzig das Fleisch war gut. Man sollte sich doch mal überlegen frisch zu kochen.

Sehr schönes bayrisches Lokal mit hervorragendem Essen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Die freisinger Augustinergaststätte erfüllt aller Erwartungen zum Thema "Augustiner". Gut traditionellen Küche mit regionalen Spezialitäten. Empfehlung wäre das Freisinger Schnitzel mit dem dazugehörigen Bier. Die Gaststätte repräsentiert sicherlich bayerische Lebensart und ist für Gruppen gut geeignet. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und freundlich, trotz zahlreichen Gästen.

Preis-Leistung im Vergleich zum Garchinger Augustiner ok. Alles andere aber auch im Vergleich leider nur Mittelmaß. Daher wer auf Qualität anstatt auf ein bisschen billiger Wert legt eher nach Garching zum Augustiner.

Der Freisinger Augustiner ist vergleichsweise mit dem Garchinger Augustiner trotz günstigerer Preise (Kalbsschnitzel in Freising 21,90€,in Garching 29,90) nicht annähernd so gut. Qualität und Auswahl der Speisen mittelmäßig, Service mittelmäßig. Nicht schlecht,aber auch nicht so gut . Daher Mittelmäßig. Wir werden den Garchinger Augustiner daher auch in Zukunft eher besuchen ald den Freisinger Augustiner. Qualität hat halt seinen Preis.

Absolute Anlaufstelle in Freising. Gutbürgerliche bayrische Küche und dazu das einmalige Augustiner Bier. Auf jeden Fall vorher reservieren. Wir waren am nächsten Tag gleich wieder da. Ich musste mir noch einen von den tollen Burgern leisten. Einfach klasse und volle Punktzahl.

Tolles Ambiente und leckeres Essen. Trotz vollem Haus, war der Service schnell, freundlich und organisiert.

Genau das hat Freising gebraucht. Tolles Wirtshaus am Platz mit super bayerischen Klassikern. Der Laden ist gestoppte voll, spricht also für sich.

Wir waren zu Mittag da. Gut bürgerliches Essen. Für ein Mittagstisch mit 2 Personen und 2 Getränke und einem Espresso wurden mit Trinkgeld 50€ verlangt. Na ja. Portionen waren bei mir (Gulasch) sehr überschaubar. Beim Kollegen (Salat) sehr groß. Sehr gut besucht. Service sehr aufmerksam.

Der Freisinger Augustiner hat sich binnen kürzester Zeit zu einem unserer Lieblingsrestaurants entwickelt. Uns gefällt das hervorragende Essen und die tolle abwechslungsreiche Karte. Vom klassischen Schweinsbraten mit Kraut (absolut empfehlenswert) bis zum ausgefallenen Burger und der Wochenkarte ist hier für jeden was dabei. Gerade die Burger sind phänomenal! Für uns, als frühere Bräustüberl-Stammgäste, eine tolle Abwechslung in der Stadt.

Sind gerne im Augustiner und finden es ist eine Bereicherung für die Freisinger Innenstadt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist gut, man findet was für jeden Geldbeutel und auch das Personal ist freundlich und in der Regel schnell.

Everything was perfect, I liked the energy of the waiter and the food was delicious. I can recommend the Freisinger Schnitzel. Just a little noisy on the top floor - sometimes we felt like we have to scream to understand each other.
