It's always a pleasure to come here ❤️ Especially with the new desserts ❤️ Once you've eaten authentic Italian pizza here, you can skip all the delivery services. The appetizers are also top-notch. There's a great selection of Sicilian wines to go with it. Add to that the warm hospitality of the owner family, and the evening is perfect. We were there on a Friday evening, and the restaurant was packed. Nevertheless, the service was excellent, and there were no long waits for the food. The place remains a clubhouse, after all. Perhaps they could create even more of an Italian atmosphere by adding a few accents.

Authentic cuisine – with heart and passion. Fair prices and top-notch service. The antipasti platter was world-class. The pasta was also incredibly delicious. I'm amazed at what you can get out of a clubhouse – the pizza oven alone is quite impressive.

We went there for dinner with work colleagues. For an Italian restaurant, the dishes were quite unusual. Not exactly standard fare. But everything was delicious. Unfortunately, we waited quite a while for the food, and the server was a bit slow, often double-crossing us.

We had a lovely meal here with a group of friends. The pizza was really fantastic and the limoncello and real Sicilian snacks were also surprisingly tasty. The waiter/owner and staff are super friendly and enjoyed letting us taste Sicilian things. I will definitely come back for the Arancini, the limoncello and the Calzone.

There's no run-of-the-mill pizza here. I had the best pizza of my life (Pizza Vastasa). Top-notch ingredients, great staff, beautiful ambiance. Simply PERFETTO!!! Update: It was once again AMAZING. The Pizza Sturiusa was absolutely amazing. The VERY BEST pizza I've ever eaten. 🤌🏼 Update: It is and remains simply the BEST pizza!

A piece of Sicily in the heart of Dorsten. Sounds crazy, but it's true. Anyone who has ever eaten here knows immediately that this place isn't about the trappings, but rather one thing: genuine food made with passion. The pizza looks like it's straight from Palermo, with a thin crust, crispy, and a perfect crust. And the appetizers too? The finest. Fresh, aromatic, Italian through and through. And Sicilian wine to go with it, which will sweeten your evening like only a sunset by the sea can. The service is prompt and friendly. Despite the full house, there was no wait. You can just tell that the family here is hands-on. Warmth included. Of course, the ambiance is more like a clubhouse than a romantic restaurant. But it's precisely this contrast that creates its charm. Worlds collide, and in the end, only the taste counts. And it's just right. In conclusion: The Sicilians deliver great cuisine in a small dining room. No frills, no frills, but plenty of love on the plate. Anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine and not put off by the interior will be happy here.

We're currently on vacation here and thought it would be a nice restaurant. The food is great, but the service is terrible. Maybe they treat their employees better, and they'd be more motivated. It's a shame.

Great place to enjoy Sicilian food. Pizza, pasta and Sicilian dishes are always prepared fresh and delicious there. The location is also interesting, right next to the tennis court. The location is also suitable for family celebrations, if you have around 50 people it is perfect.

Visited the Sicilians for the first time today. Slightly sloping and in a green location, there seems to be a real insider tip hidden here. The owners are incredibly friendly and really care about their guests. The food is exceptionally good! I'll be back soon!

Incredible experience, I spent 4 weeks in Germany and it feels like I've never left Italy. A place like this is very difficult to find in Italy and I even less thought I would find it in Germany. A great restaurant. The dishes tasted really great. Some are put together in unusual ways, but everything fits together perfectly. The staff is very very friendly. The ambience is also fine. I read the last few reviews and wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. I didn't find the atmosphere as bad as reported here. Of course it's not the ambience of a posh Italian restaurant, it's still a kind of clubhouse. But the boys did well with it. 👍

We were there on the occasion of my birthday and wanted to spend a nice evening. The food was really great and very tasty. We all enjoyed it very much. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars. However, the location, the furnishings, the decoration and the ambience have absolutely nothing to do with an Italian restaurant, but at best with a mediocre snack bar. In addition, it was so loud that you could practically not talk. Accordingly, we went straight after eating, which was certainly not planned.

We visited the restaurant for the first time on a recommendation. We were totally surprised that such a good restaurant was hidden in a tennis club. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were plentiful. The service was also very attentive and quick. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come more often. Sweetly simply furnished, so typically Italian rural! Friendly service! In addition to fish and meat dishes, there are also vegan and vegetarian options! Some pizzas can be veganized and there is vegan mozzarella and even a separate vegan page with dishes. Pizza and the large starter plate in vegan with Keese 34 euros is totally fine! I went to the Sicilian several times after it reopened. The food is great no matter whether it's a starter, main course or dessert. You can try everything and it tastes good. If you're looking for good Italian food, you've come to the right place. The service was also very good and very attentive. The location you can still work on is a tennis court/clubhouse.

Since I always like to eat my pizza with three fingers, the base should be a little crispy, which wasn't the case in the restaurant. Then we went to the Oude Marie again, where I ordered two different pizzas and by the time the second pizza was ready the first pizza was already cold.

We reserved a table on a Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Unfortunately there appeared to be only two waiters on duty. Drinks arrived about 20 minutes after arrival. Food came after 50 minutes, second round of drinks only after the pizza had already been eaten. The pizza was very tasty, but was already relatively cold when it was served by the waiter. I would have liked to express my criticism immediately, but no one asked whether the service or the food was okay. The waiter was constantly stressed and I didn't want to cause any more trouble. The ambience has something of a tennis clubhouse, but you can almost expect that given the location. Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant for a nice Saturday evening, pizza should be taken away. Pizza is really good, but unfortunately has to deduct stars because it's already cold. Price performance is not right, 87€ for 4 people, you can expect a little more, especially if you go to a “Sicilian”.

Former review: "Nice atmosphere (I like the simple room), super tasty food (and drink), nice to look at on the plate, and very friendly service. What more could you want? New location...well tennis court!! There are still a lot of screws to be turned...no uniform crockery, some of them are broken...cutlery not appropriate in relation to the demands!...staff totally uncoordinated...food good...prices are high considering the ambience and the other comments too high!!! You can get the same quality and better service in other restaurants nearby, even in very high-quality ambiences, sometimes cheaper or at the same prices...hence only 3 stars overall!!! Today for the first time...from now on with my favorite Italian....great starter plate with lardo on freshly toasted bread with honey...great!! Everything is very high quality... Afterwards very tasty pizza...served by very nice staff. Appropriate price-performance ratio...if you're expecting the 6 euro pizza here...please don't! Quality MUST be paid for. A little tip...ambience is still a bit cool...tablecloths would help...😉

We discovered “The Sicilians” purely by chance and were thrilled! The food is excellent and the employees are super friendly and accommodating! The pizza is actually like in Sicily and put us straight back into holiday mode. We have already recommended the restaurant and will definitely go there again!

Wunderbar authentisches kleines italienisches Restaurant mit leckeren sizialischen Speisen und zauberhafter Bedienung.

Zum 2. Mal innerhalb von zwei Wochen waren wir hier richtig genial essen. Facettenreiche Vorspeisen, knackige Pizza und frische Nudeln. Heute haben wir mit der ganzen Familie bis zur 93 jährigen Seniorin einen wunderbaren Geburtstag verbracht. Die Damen im Service suchen ihresgleichen.

Super gut gegessen.Trotz vollem Haus war das Personal gut drauf. Die Vorspeisen und das Hauptgericht kamen leider nicht zusammen. Hiermit meinte ich,das beide Gäste gleichzeitig Ihr Essen bekommen.Sonst wäre der 5.Stern gekommen. Haben draussen gesessen und hatten sogar eine saubere Tischdecke....klasse.

Ein schöner Abend mit tollen Speisen. Mal etwas anderes als sonst der normale Italiener. Vorspeise wie die Pizza waren hervorragend. Man sollte aber vorher reservieren. Sehr netter Service. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Heute sehr gut beim sizilianer gegessen. Die Speisekarte ist mal etwas anderes, ausgefallene Gerichte und wirklich lecker. Für uns war es ein neues Geschmacks Erlebnis

Das Essen (Vorspeise, Pizza, Nudeln) ist gut, nicht vergleichbar mit einer Take-away-Pizzabude. Gute Zutaten, gut abgeschmeckt. Ob allerdings eine Pizza mit Würstchen drauf sein muss, bezweifelt ich. Die junge Frau, die bedient hat, war der Knaller: freundlich und flott im größten Stress. Was aber gar nicht geht, ist die Akustik. Wenn man am Tisch sein Gegenüber anschreien muss, ist es auch mit italienischer Gemütlichkeit vorbei. Tischdecken auf die Tische, Wandabsorber an Decken und/oder Wände! Gestresst aus einem Restaurant zu kommen wegen des Lärms ist unschön.

Mit Freunden kurzfristig entschlossen das Restaurant zu besuchen. Haben hinten auf der Terrasse gesessen sehr freundliches Personal, das bestellte Essen hat allen 4 Leuten sehr gut geschmeckt. Es ist eben keine 0815 pizzeria sondern eben mit sizilianischen Besonderheiten. Von uns volle Empfehlung.
