We went to Göhren today with the "Rasende Roland" (Racing Roland). The kids were hungry, so they ordered fried fish sandwiches. The adults got a redfish to take home. We ate the fried fish sandwiches on the spot at the outside table. The table was dirty, and there was bird droppings on the seat cushions. The kids said the fish tasted weird. It looked like frozen goods. A man came out of an adjoining room, probably the smoker; he didn't look very appetizing. We ate the smoked fish in the apartment that evening. Our conclusion: we've eaten better, fresher, and less salty.

Whoever is on Rügen must also come here

We discovered it last year and loved it. This year, we came back. The fish sandwiches are generously filled and delicious. The sea buckthorn spritz is also a dream 🤩 The rustic atmosphere and the empathetic staff round out the stay 😊

Everything is just right here. The food is excellent, the service is superb! Special requests are fulfilled without a doubt, and there are treats for dogs. This is simply the best restaurant! A must on every visit to Göhren!

Dear cat lovers and dog haters, please avoid this restaurant! You won't be asked if you're afraid of dogs. They'll simply seat them next to your chair. Dear owners and restaurant team, not like this! You either have to ask the person at the table next to you or put up a large warning outside! Very unpleasant, and it really spoiled our visit. Otherwise, the restaurant is quaint and cozy inside. The menu is okay, and they cater to your needs and advise you accordingly. What's not so nice is that some guests are recognized and receive preferential treatment from the service staff. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and this behavior, especially from the younger service staff, annoys me. The older employees who have been with us for years are truly kind-hearted and great. The white fish soup is my absolute favorite here!

We actually ate there twice during our week-long vacation because it's simply amazing! We were seated without a reservation, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was great. The menu was very attractive and the seating was comfortable. We also took advantage of the fish counter to take away and treated our friends at home to some delicious smoked fish. We'd love to come back.

Always happy and a must when we are on Rügen

I'm just at the smokehouse, and what can I say? The plaice was just how I like it. We specifically tried the sea buckthorn herb and the sea buckthorn spirit, and, and, and both were delicious. Santiago and other sea shanties are playing in the background. We like it and will be back. Especially dog-friendly. Ours got to try the salmon and sprat.

Absolutely no ifs, ands, or buts. Super friendly👍 and accommodating. It's amazing that the drinks are brought to the table while you're ordering. So if you're not sure, this is a great place to eat. We'd love to come back! And we've been doing so for 5 years.

It could have been better. Unfriendly staff doesn't leave a good impression... Perhaps you're setting your expectations too high when everyone is praising it so much. I won't be going back; Rügen has so much more to offer.

My girlfriend and I just wanted to have a fish sandwich at 3 p.m. before our return trip after a lovely day at the beach. We were totally surprised to find that it was no longer a self-service restaurant, but a cozy, rustic fish restaurant. The staff was friendly and efficient. One waiter was very funny when we made a cheeky comment. The food was exceptionally good, and the prices made eating enjoyable. After 45 minutes, we were back in the car, happy after this wonderful day.

The Smokehouse. This is what a fish restaurant should be. A little quaint, nice, friendly, and not intrusive. The fish platters are excellent, perfect with fried potatoes. Dark beer and various wines round out the evening. A small fish sale is available in the restaurant. A lovely covered outdoor terrace. We'll be back. No reservation necessary.

Since I don't care for oversized portions, I prefer something a little less fat-intensive. Everyone here has a different idea, but I'm fine with it. However, I think €8.90 for a 1-liter carafe of water is excessive.

Located right next to the train station. We "only" ate fish sandwiches, which arrived quickly. The sandwiches aren't specifically listed on the menu, but they're available upon request. Very tasty! And the staff is very friendly!

Three of us visited the smokehouse on Sunday evening as part of a motorcycle tour, and it was fantastic. I was inspired by the chef's recommendation and sales talent, and they didn't overpromise. The fish soup, in particular, was outstanding. Two of our group were able to try it. The third, unfortunately, had filled his stomach at the destination beforehand and skipped the fish soup. Well...it's his own fault. All in all, the smokehouse is highly recommended.

We were there yesterday. Great service and ambiance, and the best part is the food. We had butter mackerel and a fantastic light fish soup as a starter, recommended by the junior manager. And we were not disappointed. It was a very nice experience for us.

We went there for dinner and were absolutely thrilled. Despite having a stroller, we were able to get a suitable seat right away. The service was super friendly and attentive, the food arrived extremely quickly, and it tasted delicious. The cozy coastal ambiance, with appropriate nautical music in the background, was perfect. What was especially nice was that you can even buy fresh fish in the on-site shop. Highly recommended!

5 stars plus I've rarely discovered such a delicious smokehouse as this one. No reservation is necessary. Just show up and expect to wait a maximum of 15 minutes if the place is busy. 5:30/6:00 PM is the busiest time, so it's best to come before or after. Open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Kitchen closes at 8:30 PM The staff is extremely energetic and friendly; you can see they enjoy their work.

We ate here the day before yesterday and were absolutely thrilled with this restaurant. The ambiance perfectly matches the food, and Santiano's music fits the atmosphere perfectly. We ordered the fish platter for two, and every fish dish tasted amazing. But the butter mackerel was definitely our favorite; it tasted amazing, and I would order it individually without hesitation. The beer is just my thing. I've never had Störtebeker on tap. I've only ever tried the bottled beer, which I also really like, but the draft beer is a whole lot better for me in terms of taste. We had to wait about 20-30 minutes to get a table, but for us, the wait was more than worth it. Many thanks to the whole team for the delicious dinner.

We were there today and got "fresh" fish meatballs; we've never eaten such bad fish meatballs. When I saw the fish sandwiches, I was completely taken aback. When I asked what kind of fish was used in the fish meatballs, the answer was herring and matjes. Matjes? Well, that's someone who had no idea. And we're from the coast and know what fresh fish is. Besides, they look like they're machine-made. The price-performance ratio is an absolute disaster. It looks really nice both inside and out. The service seemed nice too. In short, eating decent fish there is a definite no.

Very nice, friendly staff. We had flounder with fried potatoes...very tasty. Fast service. However, one point deducted because they only accept cash payments, but it's not stated anywhere. The nearest ATM was in the very back corner near the seating. We didn't have enough cash (anymore). But we were able to pay by card at the smoked fish counter. It was embarrassing at the time because we had to walk through all the people, and the staff weren't so friendly after all. The staff were very distant towards us, and I just wanted to get out (even though I wanted to use the restroom again).

Beware of rip-offs! Cash only...ATM 30 meters away...no matter which bank you're a customer with, €5.95 processing fee! The rolls are ancient. They didn't even ask for a card to see. Never again.

If you're going to eat fish, go here. The fish platter for two is delicious, even for non-sailors.

It was our first time at the smokehouse and we were served personally by the chef, who gave us a few recommendations. We had the red fish soup and the butter mackerel with fried potatoes. Simply delicious. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere. We would come back anytime and can only warmly recommend the smokehouse. And if you enjoyed it as much as we did: there's even an online shop 😉 or a counter where you can buy food.

A must if you want to eat delicious fish. Reservations aren't possible, but we always managed to get a table, even in peak season.
