A lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and excellent service. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. We had the fish platter for two and were more than satisfied. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. The portion was more than enough for us. We highly recommend the smokehouse and will definitely be back.

We knew we wanted to visit this restaurant even before we arrived. We had to wait a little while at the entrance for a table, but enjoying a cup of mulled wine and the friendly service made it quite pleasant. We felt very welcome throughout our visit. A must-have for (smoked) fish fans since 2000!

We spontaneously went there for dinner this evening and were thrilled! Superb service, fantastic food, very friendly staff, the fish was divine, and the portion sizes were just right. We started with the red fish soup and cucumber salad, followed by the large sailor's platter for two. Our daughter had the fish fillets, and afterwards, a warm chocolate cake with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Simply divine! We'll be back! Excellent value for money! 😂

The Restaurateur's Temporary Amnesia After inquiring beforehand whether we needed to reserve a table for our group (over 10 people) to spend the evening there with food and drinks, we were told that reservations weren't necessary and we could simply walk in, as there was plenty of space and the restaurant was quiet "at that time." So we arrived at the restaurant and found that almost everything was occupied. When we asked about it, the manager on site said he had never made that statement or couldn't remember. 🤔 We didn't let it spoil our good mood and found another restaurant where we were welcomed, and we spent our money there over a pleasant dinner.

We went to Göhren today with the "Rasende Roland" (Racing Roland). The kids were hungry, so they ordered fried fish sandwiches. The adults got a redfish to take home. We ate the fried fish sandwiches on the spot at the outside table. The table was dirty, and there was bird droppings on the seat cushions. The kids said the fish tasted weird. It looked like frozen goods. A man came out of an adjoining room, probably the smoker; he didn't look very appetizing. We ate the smoked fish in the apartment that evening. Our conclusion: we've eaten better, fresher, and less salty.

Rustic, delicious, nice—AGAIN AND AGAIN! ♡♡♡

We discovered it last year and loved it. This year, we came back. The fish sandwiches are generously filled and delicious. The sea buckthorn spritz is also a dream 🤩 The rustic atmosphere and the empathetic staff round out the stay 😊

Everything is just right here. The food is excellent, the service is superb! Special requests are fulfilled without a doubt, and there are treats for dogs. This is simply the best restaurant! A must on every visit to Göhren!

Dear cat lovers and dog haters, please avoid this restaurant! You won't be asked if you're afraid of dogs. They'll simply seat them next to your chair. Dear owners and restaurant team, not like this! You either have to ask the person at the table next to you or put up a large warning outside! Very unpleasant, and it really spoiled our visit. Otherwise, the restaurant is quaint and cozy inside. The menu is okay, and they cater to your needs and advise you accordingly. What's not so nice is that some guests are recognized and receive preferential treatment from the service staff. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and this behavior, especially from the younger service staff, annoys me. The older employees who have been with us for years are truly kind-hearted and great. The white fish soup is my absolute favorite here!

We actually ate there twice during our week-long vacation because it's simply amazing! We were seated without a reservation, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was great. The menu was very attractive and the seating was comfortable. We also took advantage of the fish counter to take away and treated our friends at home to some delicious smoked fish. We'd love to come back.

Always happy and a must when we are on Rügen

I'm just at the smokehouse, and what can I say? The plaice was just how I like it. We specifically tried the sea buckthorn herb and the sea buckthorn spirit, and, and, and both were delicious. Santiago and other sea shanties are playing in the background. We like it and will be back. Especially dog-friendly. Ours got to try the salmon and sprat.

Wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully presented, but most importantly, it's so delicious. A visit is a must on Rügen 👍. The Rasende Roland statue in the background is a nice bonus.

It could have been better. Unfriendly staff doesn't leave a good impression... Perhaps you're setting your expectations too high when everyone is praising it so much. I won't be going back; Rügen has so much more to offer.

My girlfriend and I just wanted to have a fish sandwich at 3 p.m. before our return trip after a lovely day at the beach. We were totally surprised to find that it was no longer a self-service restaurant, but a cozy, rustic fish restaurant. The staff was friendly and efficient. One waiter was very funny when we made a cheeky comment. The food was exceptionally good, and the prices made eating enjoyable. After 45 minutes, we were back in the car, happy after this wonderful day.

The Smokehouse. This is what a fish restaurant should be. A little quaint, nice, friendly, and not intrusive. The fish platters are excellent, perfect with fried potatoes. Dark beer and various wines round out the evening. A small fish sale is available in the restaurant. A lovely covered outdoor terrace. We'll be back. No reservation necessary.

We were out cycling, and I chose the restaurant based on the reviews. The staff was excellent, friendly, and attentive. Since I don't care for oversized portions, I prefer something a little less fat-intensive. Everyone here has a different idea, but I'm fine with it. However, I think €8.90 for a 1-liter carafe of water is excessive.

An absolute highlight for all those who like to eat fish.

Three of us visited the smokehouse on Sunday evening as part of a motorcycle tour, and it was fantastic. I was inspired by the chef's recommendation and sales talent, and they didn't overpromise. The fish soup, in particular, was outstanding. Two of our group were able to try it. The third, unfortunately, had filled his stomach at the destination beforehand and skipped the fish soup. Well...it's his own fault. All in all, the smokehouse is highly recommended.
