We came across the restaurant via Google reviews and were certainly not disappointed. Great food, great staff and an appealing ambience are just some of the plus points and even though the restaurant was fully booked, our order didn't take long and the volume level was such that normal conversation was possible. Absolutely recommended!!

Quaint restaurant. Great service, very good home-style food with modern highlights and seasonal cuisine. Large portions

1/3 of the rump steak was inedible because it had tendons running through it. The plate included beans that were not included. Ignored by the staff, the meat became cold, so the beans were only mentioned when the bill was paid. The re-ordered herb butter only came when the meat was cold, steak knives were not available. The quality of the meat could be better, but perhaps only 200g instead of the stated 250g. On the grill plate there was chicken, pork neck and rump steak, unfortunately large and flat, so it was fried dry. There was no discount because of the missing beans and the stringy meat. I was asked if I wanted to take the beans home with me. We won't be coming back...

The potato house in Melle. I was here for the first time today. My companion was my girlfriend. We reserved a table at 5:30 p.m. and were taken to our beautiful table, number 11, right on the stroke of the bell. This is right around the corner to the left after entering and is super cozy. In no time we were asked what we would like to drink and less than five minutes later we were served. Then we ordered our food, the fried potatoes with fried eggs for my girlfriend and the councilman's plate for me. The food came in under 15 minutes and tasted super fresh and well prepared. We both got really full, and for a low total price of just under 46 euros. The price and quality of the food are in perfect proportion and we decided to definitely visit this establishment again! I can confidently recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves German cuisine! Many thanks for the lovely evening to the staff and the wonderful food to the kitchen!

It's a junk shop with a cafe, not a restaurant

Quite good to go out to eat, in a nice atmosphere with nice service! The salad tasted very fresh and the chicken was very tender!

The restaurant is very comfortably located under the town hall. At our meal yesterday there was actually a salad with both dishes. Unfortunately, only one came with the hint that the other would follow soon. That didn't happen. After we mentioned this, we were told that it could happen. We didn't get a salad and we weren't offered anything else. But we paid the full price! A pity...

I recently went to the "Knolle" in Melle for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice and attentive staff, reasonable prices and really large portions. I only finished about half of my Holsteiner Schnitzel with fried potatoes and they were kind enough to pack the rest for me. The small "beer garden" in front of the door was pleasant in summer weather; the dining room inside made a cozy impression. Nothing to complain about, so full marks.

Today I returned to the Knolle with my visitor from my old home. We were thrilled, as always. Very attentive young waitress, we were able to sit outside because summer had finally arrived. So far all my visitors want to go to the tuber 😄 Simply bomb 👌

It's okay, you can visit sometime. No reason to complain! but not of particular praise either. So far okay...It would be nice if meatballs also saw a pan, guess steamer!? When hot they fall apart the next day, when cold they can no longer be chopped up without tools. Taste: ok. I'll be back, ...you just have to keep up with the times (I still fry the meatballs in the pan...doesn't seem to be common anymore...:-))

Sind eigentlich Fan der Knolle. Aber heute war total enttäuschend. Ich hatte Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln bestellt. Will mich kurz fassen. Bratkartoffeln , wenn überhaupt, lauwarm. Bedienung hat nach Reklamation den Teller wieder mitgenommen. Teller kam mit Schnitzel wieder, Bratkartoffel fehlten, sollten nach kommen. Da taten sie auch, aber nur heiß gemacht. Mikrowelle? Das war Nix heute.

Super tasty wedges and fast, friendly service. You're right in the city center and you can also sit outside. Other dishes such as the vegetarian potato casserole are also recommended. Gladly again.

Together with my friend and our grandmothers we were guests at the Knolle last Sunday at 11:30 a.m. - my last visit was probably 18-20 years ago (back then there were always such cool cardboard cars for us kids to put together, they were awesome!!). So I haven't been there for a while - but I felt just as comfortable as before! The only difference is that this time there was no cardboard car to make, but rather a marzipan potato after dinner :D It was really, really nice! and we had a great time. Melle is simply home and the tuber is part of it. Thank you for the lovely afternoon with you - even though the restaurant was quite full and well attended, everything went smoothly and Daniela from the team took great care of us. Gladly again!

Lunch menu for €10.95 per person. The soup was very hot and unfortunately that was the best thing about it. Unfortunately, the chicken breast was dry, the wedges were fried quite dark, and the salad was OK. The pudding powder dessert made me sick to my stomach; it looked and tasted like paste with sugar. The service was courteous and friendly, that's why the 2 stars. Seat in the drafty passage. Maybe the dishes from the regular menu are tastier. It was an experience, nothing more. Repetition is definitely impossible.

I baked an asparagus gourmet toast, the 3 asparagus spears were completely cold and dry, the tips were brown. I have to return the food. After I got my food back after about 5 minutes, but you really couldn't eat it. The asparagus was now hot but the fillet was totally dry. A colleague's food was also cold and he also returned it.

Rather disappointing. Dishes without a kick. The hollandaise comes out of the bag. Likewise frozen vegetables. Rost onions were charred and the fried potatoes were also partially burnt. In terms of price, the whole thing is relatively okay, but unfortunately that is also reflected in the quality. In my opinion it's not worth going to a restaurant for something like that. Service was okay and friendly, ambience is “quaint”.

Enjoy your meal. The portions are quite large... If you're not that hungry, you might just want to order a little something. The drinks arrive quickly and you don't have to wait long for the food. Can be recommended to anyone who likes potato dishes.

Great food, huge portions (at least for the schnitzel), a plate would have been enough for two people. It was finished pretty quickly and the staff was nice :) Just a bit small/cramped and stuffy when the house was full, but at least I could overlook that.

If you want delicious food, you can eat right here. I've eaten there several times in 3 years and have never had anything to complain about. Others in Melle should take a lesson from this.

The food is to die for and the portions are great, but thank God there is also something for pensioners. The staff is super nice and very polite and delivers the food quickly and confidently. The prices are not too exaggerated either, and the marzipan potatoes at the end are there a very nice and lovely idea, I really enjoy eating there.

Highly recommended :) a really great and cozy restaurant. We had a very young service employee. She was super nice, very attentive and gave us a great evening. The food is top. Not only does it look great, it tastes really delicious. I would definitely recommend booking, even during the week. Unfortunately, I didn't see any information about dogs on the direct website, but I heard that you are allowed to take your four-legged friends with you here. I would like to try that next time... :)

Very tasty food and great selection, served quickly and hot. Incredibly friendly staff, communicative and very accommodating. I can highly recommend the tuber - as always, it was an absolute pleasure. The fillet tips with rösti and pepper sauce are a poem. A reservation is definitely recommended

Seit Jahren kommen wir immer wieder hier hin. Leckeres Essen, passende Portionen. Immer freundliche Mitarbeiter. Gerne wieder.

Ein super uriger Ort um so richtig lecker zu Essen! Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort und werden auf jeden Fall öfter dort einkehren. Sehr freundliches Personal, absolut angemessene Portionen und eine schöne Atmosphäre. Ein gelungener Abend, vielen Dank!

Wir waren am 2.Weihnachtstag mittags in der Knolle. Die Bedienung war total überfordert! Dazu ein paar Beispiele: Zu einem Menü gehörte eine Suppe, wir hatten eine weitere Suppe bestellt. Diese wurde erst nach Anforderung gebracht! Zu einem Hauptgericht (Schweinefilet) sollte ein Salatteller serviert werden. Dieses Gericht hatten wir 2X bestellt. Serviert wurde ohne Salatteller. Erst nach Rückfrage wurde 1 Salatteller gebracht, für den 2 Salatteller war wiederum eine Anfrage nötig. Bei der Rechnung waren 2 Suppen berechnet, obwohl 1 Suppe im Preis des Menüs enthalten war. Ein paar Anmerkungen zur Qualität: Auf der Karte waren u.a. Rouladen,Klöße und Rotkohl, eigentlich eine klassische Zusammenstellung! Die Klöße und der Rotkohl waren o.k., bei den 2 Rouladen war die Qualität jedoch nicht gut (nur 1 wurde gegessen). Auch das Schweinfilet war zäh und trocken. Die Preise stimmten nicht mit der Qualität überein!!!

Top Restaurant, à la carte ist sehr lecker aber nicht zu vernachlässigen ist der Mittagstisch, hier gibt es jede Woche neue Gerichte! Super für die Mittagspause! Kann ich nur empfehlen!

Habe ganz einfach über die Website reserviert. Sehr schönes Ambiente. Habe mich willkommen gefühlt und die Bedienungen waren sehr nett. Der Mittagstisch ist zu einem unschlagbaren Preis und war sehr lecker.

Wir waren zum wiederholten Male in der Knolle. Das Essen war sehr lecker, und auch die Portionen sind mehr als ausreichend. Die Bedienungen waren alle freundlich. Man hatte das Gefühl als Gast wirklich willkommen zu sein. Ich mag das urige Ambiente dort. Wir waren ganz bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Oh genial! Wenn man als Kurgast tagelang dieses " Knadtessen" hinnehmen musste, ist dass der Himmel! Wenn man als Besucher zum Essen kommt, ist das der Himmel! Egal wie, Kartoffeln in allen Varianten. Schade, daß es das nicht in jedem Bundesland gibt...🤩

Wir haben nach Voranmeldung mit einer Gesellschaft von 20 Personen (Familienfeier) dort nach Karte gegessen. Sowohl das Essen, als auch der Service ließen nichts zu wünschen übrig. Vor allem die Servicekräfte waren sehr nett und immer aufmerksam. Wir können dieses Restaurant mit sehr gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen.👍

Wir haben einen netten Abend mit tollem Service und spitzen Preis verleben dürfen. Die Bedienung war (trotz vollem Haus) sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Alle Gerichte wurden on point serviert, sodass wir mit 12 Personen gemeinsam mit dem Essen beginnen konnten. Einziger Kritikpunkt: alle Fleischstücke von Steak bis Nürnberger Bratwurst waren totgegart oder angesengt, was natürlich sehr schade war. Die vegetarischen Gerichte waren super!

Alles. bestens - nur es geht niemand ans Telefon - im Restaurant sitzend könnte ich beobachten das es niemanden interessiert - online reservieren geht auch nicht da man immer auf den folgenden Tag verwiesen wird - also auf gut Glück einfach hingehen

Wer Kartoffelgerichte mag, wird dieses Restaurant lieben. Sämtliche Variationen von Kartoffeln. Dazu auch noch eine reichliche Auswahl von sowohl- Fleisch, als auch vegetarischen Gerichten. Es schmeckt köstlich und die Portionen sind sehr groß. Kartoffel leicht oder auch herzhaft, hier ist alles dabei. Top Preis- Leistungs Verhältnis!

Immer wieder DIE Top Adresse für einen entspannten Abend, bei tollem Ambiente, und wunderbaren Essen. Sehr nette Bedingungen, die nicht nur freundlich sondern auch sehr aufmerksam sind. Wer gute Deutsche Küche mag ist hier super beraten. Aber Platzreservierung ist ratsam. Super ❤️ 👍

Auf Dienstreise spontan zum Abendessen eingekehrt. Ohne Reservierung noch einen Tisch zugewiesen bekommen. Das Personal trotz vollen Restaurant sehr freundlich. Bestellung verlief zügig und das Essen kam in entsprechender Zeit so wie es bestellt war. Teller war gut belegt und das Essen war entsprechend schmackhaft. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis voll in Ordnung. Netter Aufenthalt, gern irgendwann mal wieder.

After several years we visited again "Die Knolle". As far as we were able to remember food in general was much better 10 years ago. Gravies this time were very much based on flour and thus not tasty at all. Unfortunately a disappointment. Otherwise the place is very cosy and well located in the center of town.

Erwartet habe ich ein lockeres aussen knuspriges Rösti (das ich früher im selben Haus auch gerne gegessen habe), bekommen habe ich einen ungeniessbaren zum Schneiden zu harrten extrem dünnen Reibekuchen der durch den eingemanschten Käse keine Verbesserung erfahren hat. Leider schwamm die Champignongsauce im Oel. Wäre ich nicht eingeladen gewesen, hätte ich das Essen zurückgehen lassen. Dies war vorerst mein letzter Besuch.

Schöne und verschiedenartige Speisenauswahl, zügiger und aufmerksamer Service. Essen war gut und lohnt ein Wiederkommen.

Genoten van een lekkere middagmaaltijd. De Duitse keuken is hier op zijn best, smaken zijn prima en de gerechten zijn compleet en ongecompliceerd. Vriendelijke en snelle service.

Wir haben am 1. Weihnachtstag vier Essen zur Abholung bestellt, weil der Verzehr vor Ort nicht möglich war. Die Entenbrust waren jeweils ein dicker Klumpen, der innen noch roh war. Bis auf den Fisch, der gut schmeckte, waren die Essen kalt, das Kartoffelgratin waren einfach nur in die Verpackung geklatschte Kartoffeln. Vielleicht lag es daran, dass wir wohl so ziemlich die letzten Abholer waren und eventuell die Reste bekommen haben, Es war sehr enttäuschend, schade um das viele Geld.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten beide Bratkartoffeln mit Leberkäse und Spiegelei und hausgemachtem Krautsalat bestellt. Letzterer war das Beste am gesamten Essen. Der Rest war, vielleicht abgesehen vom Spiegelei, lediglich aufgewärmt (das Essen kam auch innerhalb von fünf Minuten nach der Bestellung) und troff vor Fett. Der Leberkäse war war nicht frisch abgeschnitten, sondern von beiden Seiten gebraten worden und dadurch fett und salzig. Der Tisch für zwei Personen war lediglich durch einen schmalen Gang mit Geländern von anderen Gästen getrennt. Der Gang musste von diesen zum Toilettengang genutzt werden, so dass ständig jemand eng an einem vorbeiging. Das ist zu normalen Zeiten unangenehm, in Coronazeiten ein Unding!! Mich sieht dieses Lokal nicht wieder!!

Das Essen war schmackhaft und bekömmlich. Die Getränke waren auch nicht zu beanstanden, dafür aber die vielen rauchenden Kunden.

Mooie lokatie. Uitstekende bediening. En ook nog goed eten voor een redelijke prijs. Wij gingen hier eten voor de speciale paddestoelen (pfieferlingen). De soep was verrukkelijk. Ook het hoofdgerecht was heerlijk klaargemaakt en was op basis van een snietzel met een echt heerlijke saus. Over het dessert waren wij minder enthousiast, maar voor € 21,- kun je geen drie opgerichten verwachten.

Ordentliches Essen in einem netten Ambiente. Tischreservierung an Wochenenden zumeist erforderlich. Spargelkarte sehr zu empfehlen in der entsprechenden Zeit.

Wir kamen etwas spät am Mittag, so war nur noch 40min Zeit das Essen zu bestellen und dann zu essen....

Mooi pand. Best groot maar toch gezellige hoekjes. Het eten werd best snel geserveerd. Het ligt dicht langs de snelweg....
