Whether in Melle or Herford, we left the restaurant satisfied. Highly recommended.

I was here with four people, and the food was excellent, as always. It was very busy, so it took a little longer to arrive, but that wasn't a problem at all. There's comfortable seating both inside and outside, and I highly recommend this restaurant.

A lovely restaurant with several rooms and small alcoves in the old-fashioned style. You can also sit outside under pleasant umbrellas. The menu is varied, with potatoes, of course, as the main side dish. Everything was delicious, served promptly and in a friendly manner, and at a fair price. You'll feel at home here. Word has already spread, so it's best to make a reservation in advance via the website.

Given the name, I would have preferred homemade fries. Unfortunately, they were rippled fries from a bag. But the schnitzel was very tasty. The casserole was also delicious.

Good food, lots of choices but it was a pity they couldn’t handle all the guests. It was too busy, we had to wait for over an hour before we were asked what we wanted to eat, we felt totally ignored. Just a simple eye contact or some quick words to give the impression you care for your customers would have done. Don’t take reservations if you can’t handle.

Die Knollle was "knudde" for me. One of the worst zwiebelrostbraten I have eaten. Onions were limp, probably the oil too cold or reheated onions. Meat was fine. Fried potatoes were also not freshly fried.

One server was extremely unfriendly, the other was very courteous and helpful. My parents' meal was completely oversalted, and one plate was returned. My schnitzel was okay, but the croquettes were hard as concrete.

By chance, the two of us ended up there. We were seated right away. The staff was friendly. The food was simply amazing! Everyone had a different dish with different ingredients on their plates, each one truly an experience! We eat out often and have rarely been so satisfied. Someone really knows what they're doing. Enjoy!

Very friendly and helpful staff. The potato dumplings with mushrooms were very good, but the Wiener Schnitzel was unfortunately not good at all. The breading was soggy, the meat was dry and tasteless. A real shame.

We had a very tasty meal here yesterday. Really tasty German quality food, very well prepared and for a very reasonable price. Very friendly staff, and once again compliments to the Chef. I had a Rahm Schnitzel, but the other dishes I saw immediately made you drool, everything looked super good. We received a drink on the house in advance and the service was very nice. What I also loved were the potatoes (fries) that come from our own cultivation. Tasted great too! In short, this restaurant is highly recommended, the entire atmosphere and layout are also great! You immediately feel at home, a bit of an old German/Austrian atmosphere in terms of decoration. Very nice.

Good cuisine based on potatoes. From Tuesday to Friday there is a lunch special for under 10 euros. Some dishes are also available as senior plates. The staff is extremely friendly. We felt very comfortable and were completely satisfied with our food.

Were there yesterday on business. Had super tasty pork medallions. All wishes were implemented excellently. Thank you very much and gladly again!

Der Empfang war zwar nicht freundlich aber in Ordnung.Die Gerichte waren gewürzlich gut abgestimmt und haben ausgezeichnet geschmeckt.Die Portionen ausreichend und preislich angemessen.Die schlechtere Wertung hatte folgenden Grund. Die Bedienung tolerierte Hund auf der Bank die auch noch mit Kleinigkeiten gefüttert wurden.Das sind für mich unhaltbare hygienische Verhältnisse,da die Bank später weder gründlich gesäubert noch desinfiziert wurde.Wenn Hygiene so unterbewertet wird kann schnell Ekel aufkommen.

Very rustic gastronomy. That's a matter of taste. The food is not a matter of taste. They are extremely good! We had a really great and very young cellar named Deniz. Very careful, friendly, quick and simply great. This will become something big again. It's rare to meet young people who not only want to complete a task, but actually want to do it well. Unfortunately, sometimes you get assigned terrible tables despite reservations. Right on the way to the toilet with the cigarette machine behind me. This is certainly due to the very special atmosphere, but it really doesn't make the guests happy.

Herliches restaurant. Immer freundlicher Personal. Mit ein kleines Getränk fangt die schöne abend oder morgen an. Viel Wahl auf die Karte und auch viel vegetarischen essen. Komm hier immer wieder wenn ich in die nähe bin.

Enjoyed the “Allgäuer Spätzle Pfanne” for lunch today. It's Oktoberfest time, so a special menu with specialties related to the largest folk festival in the world. Very delicious and large portion. Recommended. Nice service person.

We came across the restaurant via Google reviews and were certainly not disappointed. Great food, great staff and an appealing ambience are just some of the plus points and even though the restaurant was fully booked, our order didn't take long and the volume level was such that normal conversation was possible. Absolutely recommended!!

1/3 of the rump steak was inedible because it had tendons running through it. The plate included beans that were not included. Ignored by the staff, the meat became cold, so the beans were only mentioned when the bill was paid. The re-ordered herb butter only came when the meat was cold, steak knives were not available. The quality of the meat could be better, but perhaps only 200g instead of the stated 250g. On the grill plate there was chicken, pork neck and rump steak, unfortunately large and flat, so it was fried dry. There was no discount because of the missing beans and the stringy meat. I was asked if I wanted to take the beans home with me. We won't be coming back...

The potato house in Melle. I was here for the first time today. My companion was my girlfriend. We reserved a table at 5:30 p.m. and were taken to our beautiful table, number 11, right on the stroke of the bell. This is right around the corner to the left after entering and is super cozy. In no time we were asked what we would like to drink and less than five minutes later we were served. Then we ordered our food, the fried potatoes with fried eggs for my girlfriend and the councilman's plate for me. The food came in under 15 minutes and tasted super fresh and well prepared. We both got really full, and for a low total price of just under 46 euros. The price and quality of the food are in perfect proportion and we decided to definitely visit this establishment again! I can confidently recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves German cuisine! Many thanks for the lovely evening to the staff and the wonderful food to the kitchen!

Everything was good all around, we were more than full!

The restaurant is very comfortably located under the town hall. At our meal yesterday there was actually a salad with both dishes. Unfortunately, only one came with the hint that the other would follow soon. That didn't happen. After we mentioned this, we were told that it could happen. We didn't get a salad and we weren't offered anything else. But we paid the full price! A pity...

I recently went to the "Knolle" in Melle for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice and attentive staff, reasonable prices and really large portions. I only finished about half of my Holsteiner Schnitzel with fried potatoes and they were kind enough to pack the rest for me. The small "beer garden" in front of the door was pleasant in summer weather; the dining room inside made a cozy impression. Nothing to complain about, so full marks.

Today I returned to the Knolle with my visitor from my old home. We were thrilled, as always. Very attentive young waitress, we were able to sit outside because summer had finally arrived. So far all my visitors want to go to the tuber 😄 Simply bomb 👌

It's okay, you can visit sometime. No reason to complain! but not of particular praise either. So far okay...It would be nice if meatballs also saw a pan, guess steamer!? When hot they fall apart the next day, when cold they can no longer be chopped up without tools. Taste: ok. I'll be back, ...you just have to keep up with the times (I still fry the meatballs in the pan...doesn't seem to be common anymore...:-))

Sind eigentlich Fan der Knolle. Aber heute war total enttäuschend. Ich hatte Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln bestellt. Will mich kurz fassen. Bratkartoffeln , wenn überhaupt, lauwarm. Bedienung hat nach Reklamation den Teller wieder mitgenommen. Teller kam mit Schnitzel wieder, Bratkartoffel fehlten, sollten nach kommen. Da taten sie auch, aber nur heiß gemacht. Mikrowelle? Das war Nix heute.

Together with my friend and our grandmothers we were guests at the Knolle last Sunday at 11:30 a.m. - my last visit was probably 18-20 years ago (back then there were always such cool cardboard cars for us kids to put together, they were awesome!!). So I haven't been there for a while - but I felt just as comfortable as before! The only difference is that this time there was no cardboard car to make, but rather a marzipan potato after dinner :D It was really, really nice! and we had a great time. Melle is simply home and the tuber is part of it. Thank you for the lovely afternoon with you - even though the restaurant was quite full and well attended, everything went smoothly and Daniela from the team took great care of us. Gladly again!

Lunch menu for €10.95 per person. The soup was very hot and unfortunately that was the best thing about it. Unfortunately, the chicken breast was dry, the wedges were fried quite dark, and the salad was OK. The pudding powder dessert made me sick to my stomach; it looked and tasted like paste with sugar. The service was courteous and friendly, that's why the 2 stars. Seat in the drafty passage. Maybe the dishes from the regular menu are tastier. It was an experience, nothing more. Repetition is definitely impossible.

I baked an asparagus gourmet toast, the 3 asparagus spears were completely cold and dry, the tips were brown. I have to return the food. After I got my food back after about 5 minutes, but you really couldn't eat it. The asparagus was now hot but the fillet was totally dry. A colleague's food was also cold and he also returned it.

Rather disappointing. Dishes without a kick. The hollandaise comes out of the bag. Likewise frozen vegetables. Rost onions were charred and the fried potatoes were also partially burnt. In terms of price, the whole thing is relatively okay, but unfortunately that is also reflected in the quality. In my opinion it's not worth going to a restaurant for something like that. Service was okay and friendly, ambience is “quaint”.

Enjoy your meal. The portions are quite large... If you're not that hungry, you might just want to order a little something. The drinks arrive quickly and you don't have to wait long for the food. Can be recommended to anyone who likes potato dishes.

Great food, huge portions (at least for the schnitzel), a plate would have been enough for two people. It was finished pretty quickly and the staff was nice :) Just a bit small/cramped and stuffy when the house was full, but at least I could overlook that.

Price, performance fits, no one goes home hungry here.
