Super cute restaurant. Not what you would expect from the outside. Service was very friendly and the food was super tasty. Highly recommended.

Congratulations for such a friendly, fast and smart staff. Really, the ladies are great and the food is very good. This will be our new favorite restaurant.

The bad restaurant has nothing to do with the beer garden. 1. Restaurant “The Island” This restaurant is run by Mrs. Sawsan Matar. She is the sole owner and responsible for the operation of the restaurant. 2. Beer garden “The Island” The beer garden belongs to Grohnder Fährhaus GmbH, represented by managing director Vanessa Templin-Barsuhn. The beer garden has been officially part of the company since January 1, 2021.

Disgusting on the island in Hameln (Werder) – disappointing Our visit on a Monday was not an isolated incident, but the sad culmination of several miserable experiences on the so-called “island”. Service: The staff is obviously untrained. Food is served from the wrong side - a deadly sin in the catering sector. Instead of working, people stand around while the toilets fall into disrepair. Toilets: The men's toilets are a disgrace: broken doors, dirty floors, paper everywhere. Anyone who has to go to the toilet here immediately loses their appetite. Food – a single disappointment: There were three dishes to choose from: burger, “steak” and chicken skewer – and none of them were edible: • Burger: A cheap discount bun, ready-made patty, with a disgusting sauce. Every snack bar does this better. • “Steak”: Not Argentine beef, as advertised, but a loveless piece of fillet with a border of fat – not removed, not seasoned, not thought through. That wasn't cooking, that was warming up. • Poultry skewer: Dry, hard, poorly seasoned. Plus exactly 11 fries in a mini bowl. That's not cheeky - it's a mockery of the guests. And then the food came in pieces: Not together, but at a different time - as if we were in the canteen of a motorway service station from the 80s. That wasn't a blip. We've had problems before: • A bratwurst from the grill – 30 minutes waiting time. • A birthday party – chaos, poor organization, bad food. Conclusion: This “gastronomy” is a farce. There is no cooking here, there is defrosting here. You try to make as much money as possible with the cheapest goods and zero demands. Maybe for a beer with a view of the Weser - but everything else: stay away. This island is not a place to enjoy. It is a reminder of everything that can go wrong in the catering industry. My clear recommendation: close. And put the business in professional hands.

The island in Hamelin is always worth a visit

Unfortunately the online menu was incorrect and there was no pizza. Okay, it was low season, so the offer may have been reduced. But the fact that it took half an hour until we even had a menu to find out was pretty weak. Since we ate somewhere else, I can't write anything about the food.

I was there for lunch, sat outside and there was relatively little going on there that day. I really liked the ambience, you can hear the rushing of the Weser - this beautiful place really invites you to linger. The service was also very good, the waitresses were in a good mood and friendly. The food was okay, but nothing more. I wanted to order bruschetta and tarte flambée, but unfortunately tarte flambée was out. That's why it became baked shepherd's cheese. I would come back but just for a drink.

Great location, very attentive and friendly staff and really delicious food. We had bruschetta, chicken skewers and a walnut salad with baked goat cheese - highly recommended!

First of all the positive aspects, the shop has a good atmosphere and is really nice and the staff is very nice and friendly. The waiting time is the main problem, unfortunately you have to take a lot of time, we were here for almost 3 hours and waited 1 hour for the starter and then another 1.5 hours for the main course. Unfortunately a no go

A nice place for a family celebration.

It's actually very nice there. I drank a cappuccino. Unfortunately I have to say, this was the worst I've drunk. The young waiter was friendly and nice, smiled. The young lady who served, or who took the money must have had a bad day. Not exactly friendly, not a friendly smile. There was no tip either.

Every now and then we stop at the Insel Restaurant. The food is great. The seating options in the outdoor area are very good, from covered to a large, cozy beer garden in the countryside. You can also hear the rushing water of the Weser. The service is friendly, but could be a bit more on point. All in all, we come here often and will continue to do so☺️ On some summer evenings there were and are hat concerts, those are particularly beautiful evenings 🥳

We were in the restaurant with 20 people at the end of August and had a very nice evening. We really enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and the great, friendly hospitality. The staff was very attentive. The food was great. We were there with several children, who also felt very comfortable. I can only recommend the restaurant. Keep it up.

Good restaurant with Mediterranean food. You can sit outside here, drink and eat. A large canopy keeps the rain away. There is a large beer garden next door.

The food itself was okay, the problem was that there wasn't enough choice on the menu because a lot of the items were special, the service was okay, and the ambience inside was quite good

I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it is inside too. The service is flexible and quick. We had our food just in time with 14 people. The price/performance ratio is right.

I was served a “passionfruit” lemonade and it was not good at all and I let the staff know and ordered a coke instead. They charged me for the lemonade in the end and said they couldn’t accommodate everyone’s taste and said it was a nice gesture to not charge me for the coke (I work in the service industry as well and it seems normal to me to not charge the guest for something they recalled). Food was alright but nothing special, the location is nice but a bit loud.

Very nice restaurant with a large covered terrace. The service is friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious. The ambience is of course very idyllic due to the location on the water. But everything in the restaurant is also very chic.

The last bit of pizzazz is missing when it comes to eating. We had to wait a very long time for the food. 50 minutes for a pasta dish is quite a long time. No regrets were expressed.

Food good, service a bit overwhelmed.

Unfortunately the service is terrible. You wait far too long for everything, even to order. The younger employees are very friendly in contrast to the 3 other ladies. You seem annoyed, bored and exhausted. Our dog didn't receive any water even after asking. The terrace is too small for the many people in summer and therefore it feels very crowded and cramped. Our food was delicious, but we would have liked to have eaten something else, we just didn't know that the grill doesn't open again until 6 p.m. and this makes up 70% of the main courses. Bad communication beforehand. But it makes absolutely no sense because our food, which we had to wait 45 minutes for, was served after the grill had opened and some of them had already received their grilled food. I found the food a bit too expensive. Overall, we wouldn't come back again.

It's a really nice place. I just think it's a shame that it closes at 10 p.m. Especially when there are around 32 people sitting there who are happy to drink and pay, who want to enjoy the evening and have left a few euros behind.

A super nice facility that invites you to chill out. Good food at reasonable prices and in sufficient quantities. The waitresses are nice and helpful. The ambience is great. On sunny days you can relax under the covered tables outside. The interior is very nicely designed.

If you order in the beer garden you won't get anything from the grill at the entrance! It's reserved for the restaurant next door, even though they belong together. You have to know. Drinks are very tasty!

Something of a holiday feeling has reached us. Great location, delicious food at reasonable prices and the service staff were also very attentive to us. Since many tables were occupied at the time...the waiting time was okay. We'll definitely be back.

We met with a total of 6 people in the beer garden of the island restaurant, We ordered hearty food, but also coffee and cake. The service, including when finding a table, was very friendly and accommodating. The price-performance ratio was ok. A beautiful location in Hameln that we can recommend and would be happy to come back to.

I had dinner there yesterday with a colleague. I ordered the tortellini for 14.90 EUR. When the food came I found the portion to be quite manageable for EUR 14.90. I also shared this with the service person. I was very surprised that a few minutes later I was offered a second helping if it wasn't enough for me! Great response! We will definitely come again. The service is poor and the waiters seem to be making you a favour. The meal is the worst i have ever taken: cold, low quality in the meat and with some “hair” in some dishes. Definetely i do not recommend it at all. Coffee is fine.

Die Lustlosigkeit des Personals überträgt sich auf den ganzen Service. Schade! Die Lage ist super und wie gemacht für einen schönen Sommer Abend. Aber bei dem zur Schau gestellten Desinteresse an der Kundschaft vergeht einem das ganz schnell.

Been there for the first time. It was pretty good and I'll definitely come again. Service was partly friendly and partly annoyed. What I think is a shame that chewing gum was chewed. Kind of makes a bad impression.

Lovely location on leafy island in the river Weser. Very good food at a good price. However, the chocolate mousse for dessert was a little uninspired in taste.

The spare ribs were very tasty. The meat was super tender and almost fell off the bones when I looked at it. Everything juicy and delicious. Bruschetta is a bit more expensive, but you get a small pan that doesn't save money. The portion is almost a bit too big for an appetizer for one person. There are deductions for the service, which seemed quite overwhelmed even on a Monday and unfortunately my grandmother sat down on a chair that was soaking wet due to a leak in the roof. Please pay attention to something like this in the future.

Waited a long time for food, otherwise everything was good

Went there with a few people a few weeks ago, they had pre-ordered grill plates and they were really good. The service was also OK. Only the electronic counting system didn't work that evening. Many people didn't notice that. Went there again on Friday June 14th and ate pizza (7 spices). Very tasty and well made. Service was okay again. And this time everything works again. Thank you very much, I'll be back!

Das Essen war wirklich hervorragend! Wir hatten den Inselspieß und den Inselburger. Beides sehr lecker und gute Portionen. Der Service war nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten, sehr aufmerksam.

Nice location. A must in summer. You can hear the Weser rushing and everything is very spacious. Food is TOP. I can recommend the ribs. Very tasty. Otherwise very nice service and the atmosphere is right. The audience is mixed and there is something for everyone. The prices are manageable and acceptable. Gladly again.

I had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday on the island with friends. We won't soon forget this evening. From start to finish the experience was simply fantastic. The food was excellent. Every single course was a pleasure and the quality of the food left nothing to be desired. What was particularly impressive was that all special requests were fulfilled without any problems and with the greatest care. It was clearly noticeable that great value is placed on customer satisfaction here. The service was world class. The team was not only incredibly attentive, but also quick and extremely friendly. It was a pleasure to see how well the team worked together and how hard they tried to make sure we didn't lack anything. I highly recommend this place. If you want to celebrate a special occasion or just want to spend a nice evening, this is the right place for you. We would definitely be happy to come back at any time.

We made a reservation 2 hours in advance at short notice and that went great. The restaurant was busy and we were told as soon as we took our order that it would take longer. After 1 1/2 hours our food finally arrived. Chicken skewers, spare ribs, double cheeseburgers and chicken burgers. The fries were really tasty and all the dishes were delicious. The lemonades were great.

Never... ...I have visited such a bad restaurant in my life. I'm really speechless and had to let everything sink in before I can write the review. It started yesterday when I made a reservation and I was treated quite unkindly, but sometimes it just comes across like that - so far so good. Apart from the fact that there are already catastrophic conditions here anyway, the map on the website does not correspond to reality either! We were greeted at our table at 5 p.m. today and when we wanted to order starters and main courses, we were told that the grill wouldn't be turned on until 6 p.m. However, out of 9 main courses, 7 are grilled; It's really great that this isn't communicated anywhere. It just doesn't work! When I decided on the spare ribs from the grill and had to wait almost 3/4 hour, it was even more amazing to see visitors getting a burger, even though the burger also came from the grill and the people being served came after us. The food was also far from reasonable price/performance. For starters I had the shrimp. It was just ready-made shrimp, without the shell, aioli from the tube and, at best, a frozen baguette - but only 2 slices of it. That's sporty for just under €14. The main course consisted of 3 smaller but still adequate ribs, plus grilled vegetables and BBQ sauce. The ribs were ok close to the bone, but dry around the bone. The sauce, like the aioli before it, was from a tube and the "grilled" vegetables were not even grilled on many slices, but warm at best. To top it all off, I didn't get a "goodbye" or anything like that, probably because I only tipped €2 in addition to the €93 for the food/drink, even though I wished the waitress a nice day after paying she looked at me - then she just turned around and left. What else can you say about service and food like this? Unfortunately I have to give 1 star!

It's really nice there, the furnishings are totally harmonious. The service was super friendly. We only had Kaffe Klatsch but a look at the menu suggested that there would be delicacies and at top prices. The outdoor area also has a great atmosphere.

Nice little restaurant on the Weser Island with delicious food and small snacks. Very comfortable for a break while strolling through Hameln. Easily accessible via the golden rat bridge.😊👍

Man kann im Sommer gut im Freien essen

Wir haben dort eine Hochzeit gefeiert. Vorabsprachen waren top. Das Ambiente insbesondere drinnen, wenn es dunkel wird, ist super gemütlich. Service war gut. Essen war lecker. 40-50 Personen waren super in der Lokalität.

ein sehr freundlicher Service und wirklich hervorragende Küche. Die Garnelen waren ein Traum. So etwas findet man selten. Wir müssen leider morgen weiter, sonst wären wir sicher noch einmal auf die Insel.

Schön eingerichtete Gaststätte. Die Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich und leider war das einzige Fischgericht (Dorade) nicht mehr da. Auf unsere Getränke mussten wir echt sehr sehr lange warten und überhaupt macht das Servicepersonal einen gestressten und lustlosen Eindruck. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt zudem auch nicht, Portionen waren sehr klein und haben uns auch nicht vom Hocker gehauen. Wir werden nicht noch einmal hierher kommen.

Riesengroßer Biergarten, eine große Grillstation, eine Bierhütte ... das macht Lust auf einen Snack. Die "drei Damen vom Grill" hatten aber leider gar nicht so viel Lust und der Koch hat sich gedacht "ach, panieren wir doch die Hühnchenbrust von gestern mal großzügig und ziehen das Ganze durch die Friteuse" . Schade. Das Ambiente im und am Haus war toll ...

Schon die Reservierung per Telefon war ein Abenteuer, wie ich es noch nie erlebt habe. Sehr unfreundlich und ehe ich aussprechen konnte, wurde schon aufgelegt! Nun hatte ich große Hoffnung vor Ort würde es besser laufen..Leider wurde ich auch hier enttäuscht. Die Servicekräfte waren ganz nett, aber sehr lustlos..Das Essen war lieblos angerichtet, recht gut im Geschmack..aber die Grillkartoffel(n) als Beilage war keine ganze..das Gemüse auf den Teller geklatscht..Auch beim Ambiente fehlt es an Liebe, verblühte Pflanzen..Lange drauf gefreut und sehr enttäuscht gewesen..Nicht zu empfehlen..könnte man mehr draus machen...Vergebe nicht schnell schlechte Bewertungen, aber hier wollte ich nur weg.

Das Lokal ist herrlich auf einer Weserinsel gelegen. Es gibt einen offenen Grill, bei dem man zuschauen und sich Appetit holen kann. Der Gastraum ist gemütlich, bei der Außenanlage ist ein Teil überdacht. Der Service ist freundlich, hat aber mit dem Timing Schwierigkeiten. Der Hauptgang kam bereits, als ich noch nicht die Hälfte der ebenfalls warmen Vorspeise gegessen hatte. Das Essen ist eine Empfehlung. Um dem Ziegenkäse Taler ist frisches Obst verteilt, der Chrispy Burger kommt vom Grill und das Creme Bruelle wird von Obst verdeckt. Die Preise sind zwar gehoben, aber sie passen zu dem gebotenem.

Essen ist lecker, aber für die Preise wirklich übersichtliche Portionen. Satt wird man trotzdem. Der Service lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Nicht unfreundlich, aber vergesslich. Drinnen ist es gemütlich. Die Sitzbezüge gehören gereinigt. In der Nähe ist ein hübscher Spielplatz, leider aber von den meisten Sitzplätzen nicht einsehbar.

Besuch des Restaurants an einem lauen Sommerabend, Tisch für 2 Personen war bestellt. Empfangen wurden wir von einer Kaugummi kauenden Bedienung. Tisch in der Lounge, heißt hier unterm Dach. Und dann hieß es warten...bis wir die Bestellung bei der immer noch mit ihrem Kaugummi beschäftigten Dame aufgeben konnten. Essen gut, aber relativ teuer.

Obwohl es sehr voll war musste man nicht lange warten. Qualität war bei allen Gerichten Top!. Extrawünsche wurden gut umgesetzt.

Der Besuch war bemerkenswert, nicht wegen des starken Regens, wir konnten trotzdem draußen sitzen. Nein, die freundliche Bedienung mit dem Supergedächnis überzeugte. 6 Personen mit unterschiedlichen Essens- und Getränkewünschen wurden nicht aufgeschrieben, aber perfekt serviert. Meine veg. Pizza war wirklich lecker, das Hähnchenfleisch meiner Frau auch. Nur als Vegetarier hätte ich mir gern mehr Auswahl gewünscht.

Der Laden ist eine bodenlose Frechheit das Personal ist total unfreundlich und nicht ein bisschen daran interessiert was mit den Gästen ist . Meine 70 j. alte Mutter hat ein ganzes Tablet mit Bier über sich ergießen lassen müssen was jedem Menschen wohl passieren kann aber wen der Service dann mit einem Zewa ankommt und nur sagt sorry ist das eine Frechheit. Sie saß von komplett nach Bier riechend alleine darum ohne das iwer gefragt hat ob alles gut ist da rum. Es kam nix aber auch gar nix. Jeder normale Gastronom hätte sich um darum gekümmert. Ob mit einem Gruß aus der Küche oder eine Getränke Runde aufs Haus oder die Reinigungs kosten übernehmen aber es war ihn mehr als nur egal. Ein FRECHHEIT!!!!! Das Essen schmeckt nach nix das kommt auch dazu . Da kannst du in jeder Döner Bude besser essen.

Essen war ok ... preislich jedoch etwas überzogen.....hatte den Garnelen Teller bestellt ...an sich lecker , doch für fast 13 Euro nur 8 Garnelen finde ich schon etwas überzogen...da erwarte ich schon eine dementsprechende Portion ,die den Preis rechtfertigt! Aioli schmeckte zudem mehr nach fertiger Mayonnaise statt nach Aioli....kaum was vom Knoblauch geschmeckt,was eine Aioli eigentlich ausmacht .....auch hier bitte überarbeiten....Service wirkte lustlos und auch das Auftreten und der Gesichtsausdruck wirkte nicht gerade einladend und willkommen....wenn ich im Service arbeite dann trete ich zumindest mit einem freundlichen Gesichtsausdruck auf ,so das sich der Gast auch empfangen fühlt.....so werde ich es mir reiflich überlegen,hier noch mal Essen zu gehen...

Das Essen war sehr köstlich. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend! Das Ambiente überzeugt mit hoher Klasse. Dieses Restaurant ist zu einem Favorit von mir und meiner Familie geworden! Sehr empfehlenswert!
