I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. The food is okay, although the fries were reheated and too hard. The owner is very unpleasant; you can practically tell that he only cares about business and not customer satisfaction. I wouldn't recommend it!

Today we drove from Heinsberg to Oberelspe for the first time to try the best burgers in North Rhine-Westphalia 😉. We weren't disappointed 👍 The Texas BBQ burgers and the cheeseburger were amazing. We haven't had such quality on a plate in ages. The fries were also absolutely top-notch. Repeat offender on October 18, 2025 Cheeseburger with top-notch fries, simply top-notch ☝️ We'll definitely be back ☝️

So, last night I had a schnitzel with fries. The fries were very good, but the schnitzel was absolutely amazing. You can't even get such a delicious schnitzel in a restaurant. The service was very friendly, and the ambiance was also pleasant. The food here is really good, and that's why I think five stars isn't enough. I'll give it three stars 😊. If anyone is hungry for schnitzel, I highly recommend the chip shop in Oberelspe 👍👍👍

First time there. Currywurst, fries, and mayo. Good portion, fries and mayo very tasty. The sausage could be more seasoned. The curry sauce simply tasted like warm ketchup with a little spice. It tasted far too much like tomato and not like curry sauce. Also, the amount of sauce was far too small. The staff was there, but very taciturn. Somehow, they seemed completely overwhelmed and stressed. All of this can be changed with a little effort, and the five stars are guaranteed.

I personally have been here about 2-3 times and I always liked the service, the ambiance and the staff. My only criticism is that there is no normal Coke (only Afrikola). That is complaining on a high level but it would be nice.

The burgers and fries are a 10/10. The fries are absolutely delicious. However, the schnitzels are wafer-thin and not that tasty.

Finally, a good chip shop again. We ate there. The fries were really crispy and appropriately salted. The schnitzel was nice and tender. The burger was also great. The portions were more than sufficient. Some of us were fighting ;-) The prices are also absolutely great. We'll be back.

Everything on the menu tastes indescribably delicious. You immediately feel at home when you enter the restaurant; you're greeted and so on.

We visited the chip shop for the first time yesterday. We had gypsy, hunter, and gourmet schnitzel. All the dishes were excellent, the portions were generous, and the staff was very friendly. We'll definitely be back.

It hardly gets any better than this: top-notch food. Top-notch burgers, top-notch schnitzel, top-notch sauces—simply 5 stars.

We've often heard positive things about "Die Frittenbude." Today we finally got to see for ourselves. The place is great. You can sit inside or outside. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff are very attentive and friendly. We ordered burgers, which were absolutely delicious. Absolutely top-notch value for money 👍 We highly recommend Die Frittenbude and would gladly come back.

Maybe we were just having a bad day... The snack bar seemed promising at first glance. With an outside temperature of around 35 degrees Celsius, the propane-fueled open flames flickered at bar table height in broad daylight and sunshine. This increased the heat in the immediate vicinity. The schnitzel wasn't particularly special, but it had probably been bathed in fresh frying oil. The fries were visually excellent and very crispy. The leftovers somehow fell apart into small chips. Not exactly my thing. The sauce wasn't exactly top-notch and was just enough. Mayo and ketchup were just fine. I'm not on a diet. We had a salad, and so were we... better not to comment... Maybe they should have gotten a currywurst after all... It has good reviews, after all. To make matters worse, someone sat in the parking bay behind the wheel of an SUV, waiting for their takeaway. Two parking spaces were taken up at once. The lady didn't notice... or was obtuse. A retiree complained at the counter about the pension policy. Of course, the snack bar owner can't do anything about that. Well, who knows? When will we be back in the beautiful Sauerland? Next time, we'll definitely go to a kebab shop.

...I ate a gypsy sausage with fries and mayo today... 👍👍👍👍 ...nothing was missing...especially there was enough sauce for every piece of sausage, which is no longer a given these days. More than just a snack bar: Freshly prepared, delicious food of excellent quality. The burgers and fries are filling and fairly priced. It gets very busy at peak times, so pre-ordering or making a reservation is recommended. Friendly and fast service rounds out the experience.

The name says it all: you get super delicious fries, large crispy schnitzels, and sauces that are NOT just three mushrooms swimming in them and called hunter's sauce...it tastes like it looks! You can also try burgers and bratwurst here! There's seating inside and outside in the rustic ambiance!

The first time we ordered something there (in advance) and picked it up (it can also be delivered during the week). The team is very friendly, the food was ready for collection on time. It was very clean on site, a modern and very nicely furnished “chip shop”. We had heard a lot of good things about it and were not disappointed. It was super tasty, after about a 10 minute drive home, the fries were still super crispy and everything was hot. Everything tasted very good and the price was also right👍🏼. We will be very happy to come back 🤩

The quality of the food is much better than the name Frittenbude would suggest. Had Jagerschnitzel, Cheese Bacon Schnitzel and the Chefburger. Everything really perfect. Best Jaeger sauce for years!! For a snack bar located on the street, the ambience is really the best possible. Padded chairs, pleasant music and even fire columns. We'll be back :)

Nobody in the place knows me, and I'm not related to anyone or related by marriage, so I can say with certainty that Oberelspe has the best currywurst I've ever eaten.
