Wow, this was delicious, and what a great conversation with the chef! We had a lot of laughs, feasted, and enjoyed ourselves! Reservations only. We'd love to come back!

We haven't been there yet; we'll be there on August 30th. I just think it's a shame that almost no one comments on the photos to say what the dish is.

A highly recommended restaurant. A must-visit if you're on holiday in Rerik or the surrounding area. We've been there many times. They mainly serve local fish. The potato salad was just like grandma used to make. Absolutely delicious. You can taste the freshness and love with which it's prepared. We've been treating ourselves to this fish restaurant every summer for years! Hardly anywhere else is the proximity to the shop so noticeable, and the two gentlemen demonstrate their expertise. The changing specials create a special anticipation and couldn't taste better! The wait time was also only 30 minutes last time, which is no complaints.

We always eat at the Cliffside Restaurant. The food is really good and made with love. The chef presents and explains everything about the food. He always has a lighthearted joke on his lips, which is really nice. It's worth every euro. 🙂

A very authentic chef with his Thuringian roots and a loving affection for Nordic cuisine. Delicacies from both regions are combined, super delicious and, above all, very fresh. There's something for every taste; for me, the cucumber salad was a dream. I had the fish platter with three types of fish (plenty of fish for me as a grown man), fried potatoes (very tasty, just like grandma's), and a side salad, just like my childhood. My wife cooked the char, which was also very well prepared and incredibly delicious. The mashed potatoes are also highly recommended, with onions and oil on top 😋. We can recommend everything here and would love to come back. One more thing to say: it's almost impossible to get a table without a reservation. So, make a reservation and enjoy! 👍🏻

For us, this is an absolute must when we're in Rerik. Mike and his team are simply amazing, and the food is fantastic!

We ate there twice during our vacation. The location offers a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea from the terrace. The fish is always fresh, and when it's all there, it's all there, so the number of guests is limited. Be sure to make a reservation! Very tasty fish, superbly prepared. The owner is authentic and quaint, always polite and entertaining, with information about the fish. It's also great that you can order a senior citizen's plate, so I can eat everything and nothing has to be thrown away. The side salad brought back childhood memories for me, because the dressing tasted like my mom used to make it in the GDR. If we're ever in Rerik again, this will be our first place to eat. Thank you for the great food.

Delicious fish, great location, entertaining host.

It was a truly pleasant evening. We felt warmly welcomed. You can tell that a lot of heart and soul goes into both the service and the food. The cod and salmon were both delicious, and the portions were absolutely generous. Our son was happy with his schnitzel and delicious ice cream. The location on the cliffs and the accompanying view of the Baltic Sea did the rest. We'll definitely be back. It's good value for money. Be sure to reserve a table in advance, as there are no mass catering options.

A wonderful fish restaurant where the quality of the food still counts and personal contact is important. We've been going to the Baltic Sea and Rerik for over two decades. The cliffs are a highlight for us, especially because we always get freshly caught plaice. Thank you so much for the many years of work on our wonderful and unforgettable food. I hope we can enjoy it for a few more years. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is justified.

Were there on Saturday afternoon with a reservation. It was just a dream. The carrot-ginger soup had the perfect spiciness, and the fish fillets were perfectly fried. 😋 Very nice service. Would love to come back.

We had a delicious meal on our holiday in Rerik at Maik's. So people, if you're ever on holiday nearby, make sure you stop by because they have the most delicious fish you can imagine. It was a wonderful evening. The restaurant is so authentic and has such attention to detail. We received a very friendly welcome, service, and entertaining throughout the evening. We ate at this restaurant, right on the cliffs of Rerik, with two adults and a child (2 years old). The ambiance and the host are quaint and authentic. We quickly felt at home because the owner was also very friendly and engaging. He was unobtrusive and very informative. The food was truly delicious. Naturally, we had fish. One was a zander fillet and the other a mixed platter with three different fillets of zander, salmon, and cod. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were delicious. We had homemade potato salad and fried potatoes. Both were excellent. The menu is small, and if one fish is sold out, there's no other. The owner buys it fresh, so there aren't all kinds of fish in abundance, which I personally really like. In summary, we highly recommend this restaurant for eating good fish. Reservations are essential, as there are limited table capacity. If we're ever in Rerik again, we'll definitely come back. Thank you. We had a great time with you.

The view is priceless! The fish and side dishes are wonderful, and the chef is an entertaining character.

Highly recommended! Every now and then, we find culinary highlights on our travels. This is one of them. Fresh fish from the same day, the best Labskaus (a kind of cheese), and an outstanding cucumber salad (We knew that cream enhances the flavor. But the fact that sweet cream enhances the flavor so much more than sour cream was new to us when it comes to salads. 10 out of 10!). Incidentally, fish not caught locally is also labeled as such. Actually you can't judge the restaurant with stars. Yes, of course you can give it all 5 stars, it just doesn't do it justice. I had probably eaten the best Labskaus of my life and my dear wife had salmon with fried potatoes. In our opinion, we ate in a great atmosphere and service that was second to none and felt incredibly comfortable. All we can say is “Thank you”

Rustic fish restaurant in a family atmosphere. The food was very good and homemade... We happened to pass it on New Year's Eve and still have 2 seats reserved for New Year's... Nothing can be done without a reservation.

Man, that was a lovely evening! Mike greeted us very warmly, as if we had known each other for a long time, even though we were there for the first time! Delicious pumpkin soup, Very tasty fried zander, very tasty mashed potatoes with onions melted to a glassy brown perfection on top! Very tasty farmer's breakfast! Unfortunately there was no dessert left, otherwise it would have been the Swedish pot... The music selection was completely to our taste, lively, very attentive service, loving Christmas decorations and overall a nice atmosphere with satisfied guests! We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts and wish you continued success and so much heart!

I made a reservation based on my parents' recommendation because they were very impressed with the restaurant and the food it offered, so my standards were quite high and my standards were not disappointed, great location, large portions of food at a reasonable price and very tasty, you can tell that the kitchen is made with love and passion. We spontaneously got a table this afternoon. Extra space was made for our stroller. We were welcomed by a super friendly waiter and informed in detail about the current daily menu. In contrast to a previous review, the map explains in detail how the prices are made up. Anyone who can read and start from the beginning has a clear advantage here. If you want to eat good, regional and authentic food, this is the right place for you. We would be happy to come back at any time. P.s. Extremely expensive and everything costs extra. I wanted to go out for dinner first, but 200g of salmon for over 30 euros was a bit exorbitant. But there was nothing about it yet.

A very nice fish restaurant on the beach. The two waiters were very friendly. There was also a bit of entertainment from the waiter who greeted us. He presented the menu to us in a slightly funny way. The food was very tasty. We ordered a fish platter, a cod fillet and char, as a side dish there was a small salad and fried potatoes. At this restaurant you could really taste that it was homemade. Our dog was allowed in. Even though it was a bit more expensive, I have to say this restaurant is totally worth a visit. I also recommend reserving a table early. I can only recommend this restaurant.

Good fish restaurant. The furnishings took a bit of time, but everything else was fine. - Fish (actually all of the food) was very tasty and freshly prepared - Owner (Mike) unique. Has a different concept than other restaurateurs, but completely ok. I would probably do it that way too ;-) All in all: simply recommended P.S. The dish from Franconia is called “Schäuferla” :-)

Best fish restaurant I have come across. There is the tastiest fish here. The boss is not only a host but also a good entertainer and the boss is the best cook.

The "Stiff Coast" is an absolute MUST if you are near Rerik. We were lured here by the many good reviews. And it was very, very, very worth it!! The ambience is stuck somewhere between the 60s and 70s. This is what a restaurant must have looked like before the fall of communism. Absolutely stylish! What is on offer is what the cook has cooked. Starter soup: What the cook cooked (when we visited it was a delicious asparagus soup) Fish: Available boiled or fried. With boiled potatoes, fried potatoes, mashed potatoes or potato salad (if the cook made it) Dessert: Something with fruit, depending on what the cook made. All the dishes are excellent and “delightful”!!! The service is first class and suits this somewhat rustic restaurant. The landlord is absolutely great and creates a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the evening in the "Stiff Coast" so much. It's nice that a restaurant like this still exists. Everything is made here in-house. You won't find finished products here. The prices are absolutely justified by the quality. We would definitely come back if we are in the area again. In any case you have to reserve in advance. Don't even try to come here without a reservation ;-)

This review may come a little late but good things take time 😁 my wife and I had lunch here for our wedding 7 years ago and from the beginning (the reservation) to the photo shoot (photographer booked) after the meal the service and opposite was not only perfect but also very warm and our guests from back then still rave about the food to this day. Conclusion: If I could give more stars I would give them without hesitation. Keep it up and good luck for the future

A place to feel good and enjoy. Reservation is a MUST, but it's worth it. The menu is based on fresh fish and is explained in a hearty and super cool manner by the host himself. A great experience. And the cuisine is in no way inferior to the landlord - it was simply delicious.

Where do I start? Fish - honestly prepared or an authentic living room furnishings from times before 89 or a boss who clearly enjoys his guests and his job. For me, the cliffs are culinary combined with nostalgic charm. My recommendation is definitely to go.

Am heutigen Tage wieder sehr lecker in der Gaststätte "Steilküste" essen gewesen. Extra einen Tisch reserviert (Wiederholungstäter wissen hier ist oft ausgebucht) und es hat sich, wie schon die vorherigen Mal gelohnt. Bestes Essen bei dem leckeren Hauptgericht und ein Gaumenschmaus als Nachspeise gehabt. Der Wirt ein Unikat den man kennen lernen muss und der seine Gaststätte mit Herzblut führt. Wieder einmal ein großes Dankeschön für ein tolles Essen in dieser Gaststätte an alle in der Bedienung, aber auch in der guten Küche.

Die Fischgaststätte "Steilküste" war eine super Idee, um Mittag zu essen. Wir wurden super bedient und auf das aktuelle Speiseangebot hingewiesen. Das Angebot war sehr gut und die Küche bereitete uns unsere gewählten Essen, jeweils Dorsch und Zander mit Bratkartoffeln, lecker zu. Auch der gewählte Nachtisch war ein Gaumenschmauß, Johapschmu. Gerne kommen wir wieder vorbei. Jedoch nicht die Voranmeldung vergessen, weil hier ja oft schon lange im Vorraus ausgebucht ist.

bestes Fischrestaurant im Umkreis von 100 Km ich esse seit Jahren dort wurde nie enttäuscht was nur manche nicht verstehen wenn ausreserviert dann ist das so. Damit die Küche ( die nur mit der Ehefrau des Wirtes besetzt ist) nicht überlastet und die Quälität der Speisen gleichbleibend auf einem hohen Niveau bleibt) werden die Reservierung halbstündlich nacheinander angenommen. Daher ist es durchaus möglich das um 18 Uhr noch 3-6 Tische frei sind die aber bis 19 Uhr alles besetzt sind. Ich finde das eine gute Lösung besser als wenn man 1 Std auf sein Essen warten muss weil alle auf einmal kommen. Den Satz wegen Reichtum geschlossen sollte man erst anwenden wenn man die Hintergründe kennt. Liebe Sabine lieber Mike bleibt so wie Ihr seit, Euer Konzept und Eure ganze Art ist das Richtige und ich freue mich schon auf April 2024 wenn ich wieder bei Euch essen kann.

Es hat geschmeckt, der Rest viel zu teuer und der Knüller, man musste für einen Räuberteller, einfach für einen leeren Teller fürs Kind, bezahlen. Mehr Sauerei und Kinderunfreundlichkeit gibt es nicht.

Ein Restaurant an dem man sich gut aufgehoben fühlt. Es stimmt einfach alles...Nettes und aufmerksames Personal , sehr leckere Speisen und ein Außergewöhnliches Ambiente.

Das beste Fischrestaurant, das ich kenne! Kleine Speisekarte! Der Fisch wird perfekt zubereitet. Alles ist hausgemacht! Suppen, Hauptspeisen, Beilagen und Desserts. Alles ausgesprochen lecker und liebevoll angerichtet. Die Gaststätte ist ein Familienbetrieb. Drei Personen arbeiten hier. Das Konzept ist besonders: Jeder Tisch wird nur einmal vergeben, damit die Köchin (die allein in der Küche ist) das bewerkstelligen kann. Je nach Wetterlage wird nur drinnen oder nur draußen serviert. Im Inneren herrscht der Charme der 60er. Ein absoluter Traum ist die Außenterrasse mit ihrer Lage direkt an der Steilküste. Reservieren ist hier Pflicht, die Gaststätte ist jeden Tag (zumindest in der Ssison) ausreserviert.

Essen wird frisch zubereitet. Viele leckere Fischgerichte.

Aus hochwertigen Produkten werden hier besonders geschmackvolle Speisen zubereitet - mit Fokus auf Fisch natürlich. Hier gibt’s noch Kochfisch in Dillsauce - wie früher - und wenn man Glück hat köstlichen Heringssalat. Wenn man kein Glück hat, schmeckt alles andere aber auch prima. Achtung: leider nur Barzahlung, und ohne langfristige Reservierung keine Chance!

Wie immer. Perfekt. Man merkt dass hier mit Liebe und Herz gekocht wird. Alles auch etwas rustikal, was aber den besonderen Charme ausmacht. Die kurze Karte tut ein übriges dazu beitragen, dass es hier alles super ist. Fisch, Fisch und alles was dazugehört und das auf einer Seite. Die Zeit aktuell ist etwas ungewohnt, aber als Mittel zum Zweck zu sein. Bitte reserviert einen Tisch.
