The food was very good. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, cigars were smoked for an hour two tables away. That was very unpleasant. I would have liked the waitress to say something here. Some guests left again.

It was a welcome stop on our bike journey. The beer was cold and the air conditioning was amazing.

Anyone who eats here must be very hungry! The Kaiserschmarrn takes three quarters of an hour and since we were so full after the main course, we unfortunately couldn't get a bite of the Kaiserschmarrn. Luckily we were able to take it home and it still tasted delicious!

Best roast pork, very friendly service

The Kaiserschmarrn was excellent, as was the roast pork with dumpling and coleslaw. We also liked the beer garden and the very good service. It's a shame, we live more than 100 km away, otherwise we would become regular guests.

Went there for lunch with the family and were very happy with our visit. You can sit very well outside or inside. The service was super friendly, accommodating and thought a lot. The food came very quickly and was very tasty. The portions are decent.

We stayed overnight and also tested the restaurant. Location: ideal in a non-motorable side street of Haidplatz. Quiet from traffic and well insulated windows. Parking in the theater underground car park. Hotel: lovingly and individually designed rooms in an old house. It creaks and crackles when you move and you have to limit yourself a bit when it comes to the standard amenities (e.g. high entry into the shower, lack of storage space, no elevator), but perhaps there are better/differently equipped rooms. Good storage options for bicycles. Restaurant: Austrian cuisine. Everything cooked deliciously. Breakfast was even more than delicious. You sit inside or outside. Thank you for the nice care and hospitality.

Service was friendly and I wasn't happy with my grill plate as a recommendation on the menu. Lots of fries with some meat and unfortunately this was fried to death. The food on the tables next to us looked good though 👍 Grill plate for €26 is definitely too expensive and not good.

Etwas versteckt in der Regensburger Altstadt gelegen, bietet der Dicke Mann sehr gute österreichisch orientierte Küche an . Große Auswahl , moderate Preise und ein gemütlicher Innenhof runden den positiven Eindruck ab. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und flink.

We were there with 20 people for the Christmas party. Staff is friendly, food is tasty, OK. For my part, I can say that the carpaccio was cut too thick. For the main course I had a Wiener Schnitzel (veal), which unfortunately was much too thick. Then I ordered a latte macchiato, for which I waited more than 20 minutes. Last but not least, the Kaiserschmarrn also took over 40 minutes (but I was warned in advance, so no one can be blamed for that). Yes, I'm complaining at a high level, but the pricing is also rather at a high level, so I can expect a higher level... I think the food is better at Auerbräu.

Now I can only talk about breakfast and the overnight stay, unfortunately we couldn't get a place at short notice, but we were very satisfied! The rooms can be highly recommended as well as the location, very central, unfortunately not for those with foot problems, because you have to walk with luggage from the parking garage to the old town and there is no elevator in the house from the 14th century.

Fat man grill plate was more of a plate of fries. The portion was a disgrace for the price (€28). Mini pieces of meat on a pile of fries. I won't eat here again!

Beautiful traditional restaurant, the food was excellent. Unfortunately, I have to say that the portion size of the Dicker Mann grill plate left a lot to be desired for the price. The plate consisted of 70% fries and 3 very small pieces of meat + bean wrapped in bacon.

Great experience! We sat in the courtyard garden and we received great service and wonderful food. My children had the schnitzel with fries, my husband had the schweinnbraten, and I had the spatzle. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend!

Nice interior inside. Outdoor garden in front in a quiet street and in the yard. We had broth with cheese dumpling, Viennese veal schnitzel (3 pieces) with crisp fresh potato salad, seasonal fox (mushroom) sauce (spicy with tagliatelle and salty with potato dumpling) and the best dish was "tiroler gröstl". The sweet spot was a fruit dessert with fresh fruit. There wasn't room in my stomach for the Sachertorte, but it looked tempting. Average dark beer, a little undersized. Wheat and radler good.

Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce is already amazing. On top, you are getting a small piece of a superb Wiener Schnitzel. Then, it becomes like a dream..

The food is very mediocre. We were assigned a table where we could only sit because we were rather narrow. Other guests could not sit at the next table and had to return. Unfortunately, this place doesn't have any style either.

Right in the heart of Regensburg you can find this gem. A mixture of Bavarian & Austrian cuisine, which offers a wide variety of dishes. As Vegan you can find some dishes as well. Service is great, they offered English menus and the staff spoke perfect English. Strong recommendation when you visit this area

The food (cheese spaetzle and surbraten) was fantastically tasty and the decor was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly friendly and we felt like we were dealt with very quickly; after wiping our mouths, the napkin could just be placed on the plate that had already been cleared before it was out of reach. I would also have liked the reference to the difference between surbraten and sauerbraten to be more polite, but that didn't seem to be the focus. Maybe just a bad day.

They re-opened the kitchen for us 20 min after it closed at 10pm on a bank holiday! Excellent service, really good schnitzel. Only reason for 4 star is ketchup served with a fancy meal and chips were a bit too crispy-dry. But huge portion- 3 sizeable schnitzel in each portion.

Very nice courtyard! We have been coming here regularly for years and the staff are always friendly. The food is also very good and over the last few years it hasn't become as expensive as other restaurants... highly recommended and an insider tip!

The Kaiserschmarrn was stale bread tossed in a pan with milk. That was more of a poor knight. Suckling pig wasn't really good either. Long waiting times. Was a failure.

Very nice, rustic restaurant. Booked an overnight stay there with breakfast. The room was absolutely great, clean, everything was there. Location very central. Check in is totally uncomplicated. Breakfast was not a buffet, everything was brought to the table. No problem at all for us, maybe for vegetarians :) It was possible to get a second helping at any time. Staff very friendly and helpful. Absolutely top price. Would come again.

Very very good visit Food was just great As well as the price performance. Service very quick and attentive. The only improvement I would suggest is the changing table for the little guests. It would be good if there was one for the men too or a separate option to change the children instead of just in the women's toilet at the moment. Still deserves 5 stars 👍🏼

There's no need to write much more: incredibly good schnitzel and fantastic potato salad. The Kaiserschmarren is also very good. Always busy in the evenings, so reservations are recommended. You can be lucky during the day. A must for every visit to Regensburg!

We were lucky and got a table in the rustic restaurant shortly before peak time on Schnitzel Day. The main courses were good and the homemade tiramisu was a poem. The Frauenpower service team was present and quick despite the full store.

Six of us ate. 5/6 were not satisfied with the food (meat too dry, fish too watery, asparagus with beet crumbs too fatty. Nothing dramatic, but still unsatisfactory). Service wonderful, atmosphere good.

An authentic restaurant and hotel. Restaurant staff were kind and helpful. They were speaking in English as well. I’ve had a lovely breakfast as a guest at the hotel with a huge and delicious plate. Recommended.

Eating my daughter gave her schnitzel with asparagus back twice, it was so woody that she couldn't cut it. So when I went to the toilet, my salad that went with the schnitzel was simply cleared away, there were a lot of people in the restaurant

Typically Bavarian restaurant with very friendly service. The food is very good and there is nothing else to complain about. You can’t go wrong on “savings days” like Schnitzel Day, for example. But the price and performance ratio is also great.

An Austrian restaurant. Since there were several of us, we tried the asparagus soup with salmon, the platters with various meat products and for dessert there was the famous Kaiserschmarnn. All were well prepared, but not outstanding. However, the coffee is better than in most Regensburg restaurants. The price for the entire meal was a bit high in my opinion, but that's common in Regensburg.

The restaurant is of course top in Regensburg, friendly service, very tasty food, rustic furnishings and prices that are okay. You should reserve a table. In summer there are a few places outside.

A chance discovery during an overnight stay in Regensburg with the help of the Internet was the restaurant "Dicker Mann". After the restless journey through Austria, the shop was an obvious choice :-) The food was good, I found individual prices such as the salad to be very peppery, but that doesn't reflect the quality. Despite the packed shop, the three waitresses (who can be seen) have lost neither overview nor friendliness, really impressive. And we didn't have to wait too long either. The only thing I didn't like was the hard seating. Otherwise - top recommendation from me!

Excellent traditional Austrian dishes. Unfortunately, the chairs and benches in the Loksl are very narrow.

On average, I am in Regensburg 3 to 5 times a year. Previously in various hotels, but since I was recommended by the fat man, only here! The rooms are always immaculate and have great furnishings. The breakfast is always excellent and best of all: You don't have to go far for dinner as the restaurant is fantastic. I'll be back...and again and again.
