Der Gestiefelte Kater in Greifswald

Yesterday, two of us went to the Stiefelten Puss in Greifswald. After extensive research of reviews and photos, this place became our absolute favorite. So, we reserved a table for the evening at 11:30 am. When we arrived, we were quite surprised, as it was by no means a restaurant as advertised, but rather a kind of pizza place with seating similar to that of any kebab shop (about 10 seats on stools and a bench at a table resembling a beer tent). An employee asked if we had a reservation and, after confirming it, directed us to the seating area mentioned. If you'd like a drink, please help yourself to the soft drinks from the fridge. I'll provide beer or wine. Beer (5 or 6 types of "Störtebecker") comes from the bottle, not draft beer or any other type. Then, when we were asked about our choice of food, we were suspicious, as we hadn't yet seen a menu. We then realized that the menu was hanging on the wall (beautiful), but we thought it was just an excerpt (also shown on the website). We opted for salami and tuna. The result was sobering; the only good thing was the quality of the crust, which was freshly prepared before our eyes. The topping, however, could hardly compete with a frozen pizza from a discount store. The tuna pizza was topped with a mixture of canned fish, red onions, and something else (see photo). Conclusion: simply put, the price/performance ratio is okay, but everything else is inaccurate. No restaurant, no service, no ambiance, and it's a shame that you can't rely on reviews. I can't imagine how terrible the gastronomic situation must be in Neubrandenburg, for example, to drive to Greifswald for this pizza. I can only recommend visiting Greifswald's old town, where it's teeming with pizzerias and restaurants that live up to their online presentations. We're only giving it one star because the pizza base is truly delicious; otherwise, it's a shame about the evening. And we were so looking forward to it!

The staff is very polite and attentive. My girlfriend gave me the tip, so we went there last week and ate there together. You can watch them prepare the pizzas at the counter, and it looks and tastes absolutely fresh. Very tasty! Everything is fresh, and the prices are very fair.

First things first: the pizza was delicious. While the ham was packaged, it was overall better than average. You should definitely make a reservation and allow for a longer preparation time when ordering, even if you plan on going. The wait was already long in August, so investing in a larger oven would be worthwhile.

A must-go! The pizzas are worth it! Even if the ambiance seems a bit lackluster, Puss in Boots is almost a paradise. Wonderful, crispy dough that tastes like pizza dough should; the "Kalamata" with olives, chilies, and honey or the "Spinaci" with spinach and walnuts will immediately etch themselves in your culinary memory. Unfortunately, no salad is available, but it's still fascinating.

Great place right in the city centre, a few steps from the main square. The place is small, but the pizza choice was excellent. Nice staff who speak English👍👍👍. Waiting time was 20 min. We recommend the place. One of best pizzas we had❤️. The only thing - you cannot pay by card if you are not a German🤨.

The pizza is among the best I've ever eaten. It was prepared by the very friendly staff and was simply perfect. The restaurant on the side street is highly recommended. I'd be happy to come back.

The pizza was very good! You should definitely make a reservation! The two guys behind the counter were super friendly and enjoyed what they were doing, and they were very personable. You can't stay long because there's not enough space. If you like pizza, you'll get something really good here.

I'd like to have one more table to sit at ;) But the guys are great, with friendly service and fantastic pizza: interesting variations and extremely tasty. Plus, you can watch the food being made – great.

Absolutely amazing pizza. I ordered and picked up a salami and a pizza bread yesterday. It was simply delicious. The two people at the counter were absolutely friendly, and the customers also seemed very relaxed. If I weren't on vacation, I'd come by more often. Thanks again.

One of the best pizza I ever had!

A truly delicious pizzeria. The prices are completely reasonable, and the pizza tastes fantastic. Unfortunately, you can only give it 5 stars. You deserve more. 😉 And definitely no longer an insider tip. Good for you, bad for me. Popping in for a spontaneous pizza can work, but it doesn't have to. I've even left hungry before because it was just too busy. It might be better to call ahead. Keep up the good work. 👍👍 I'll be back.

I can only recommend Puss in Boots. The pizzas are excellent and the ambience and service are special and very good.

Best pizza place in Greifswald. The options may be limited but all are tasty. The interior is wood tables and chairs, but limited seats are available so if you come during a busy day make sure to call first. Note that this is a “pizza only” place. There are several vegetarian options available as well. They do not deliver, only pick up is available. The location us very accessible if you are in the city centre.

Rarely have I had such a good pizza around here. No unnecessary things, but focused on the essentials. Keep it up, I'll check in with you more often.

The trendy pizzeria in Greifswald. Really reasonable prices, cheaper than the competition, particularly tasty composition, fresh ingredients, very friendly service. On busy days you can expect to have to wait longer. We usually order in advance. Pleasant selection of drinks. You can also eat on site, but most customers take the pizza to go.

The Kalamata Pizza is such a great combination oft sweat and savory, i love it. After a year here, i consider it the best Pizza in town

A cool place the pizza was really good my favourite was that Kalmata olives and honey one the mix of flavours on that one was really good I just wish it was spicier but I know that it will not work in Germany. They have really good apple soda. It was affordable. One thing to think about it’s a small place there is not much room for you to sit so you better think of it as a takeaway place. Oh, The people working there were very friendly.

We searched on Google for a good pizzaria in Greifswald and found Puss in Boots. When we stood outside the door we wanted to leave because we were actually looking for a cozy restaurant. What can I say, I'm so glad we went in. The pizza couldn't have been better. Without exaggerating, the pizza here makes it into my personal all-time top three...

The salami pizza was very good and I think it is the best pizzeria in Greifswald.

What can I say?! The best pizza around! I even drive all the way from Neubrandenburg to eat such delicious pizza here. The employees are always great, even if you have to wait a few minutes - it's definitely worth it. If you are traveling in Greifswald, you should definitely stop by! A straight A1 in terms of taste and price. There aren't too many seats, but there's enough to eat comfortably. People also like to take the pizza with them to the harbor. So, keep it up, guys! :)

Been there for the first and last time today. Unfortunately the store leaves a lot to be desired. My biggest problem is cleanliness, there are old cobwebs, various hairs, leftover pizza and other dirt everywhere (entrance area / tables / seating). The employees don't wear gloves, touch each other and customers (handshake as a greeting) and I saw how "leftover cheese" from the counter was simply wiped back into containers, along with flour and other leftover food. The quality of the pizza is unfortunately also underwhelming, as the toppings are no longer as generous as in the pictures, but very sparingly.

This is a one table delivery service.

I ordered 2 pizzas today and picked them up at a certain time, the pizza was just ready when I arrived, it was super tasty, the price is great. We'll definitely be back

Mega store, cool guys who make the pizza. The pizza tastes great, and if you order for a certain time, your pizza will be ready then. But it's also exactly finished and hasn't been kept warm for a long time. Plus fair prices. What more could you ask for? Just keep it up! The shop is small, but certainly great for eating there. I always took the pizza with me and ate it on the town hall square...

I can't rate food. Went to the store today at 8:18 p.m. and it's open until 9 p.m. I was kindly told that they would no longer be able to provide us with food (2 people) today because the “book” (presumably the order book) was full. On a Saturday evening, 40 minutes before closing time, you've come to the wrong place if you want something to eat. In my opinion, a no-go for a pizzeria.

Super delicious pizza that has that certain extra at a fair price. Without pre-booking seats, we would probably have had to leave on Sunday evening with empty bellies. Is a real recommendation.

This place was recommended to me by one of the locals. It's not an easy find, but worth the trip. We had a salami and a kalamata pizza, both very tasty. We will be back :)

Probably the best pizza I've ever eaten. Fresh ingredients, great composition and reasonable price! It's worth the slightly higher effort (be sure to call in advance and reserve "time") and you can overlook the not "quite" classic ambience.

Ein Kleiner aber Feiner Laden mit sehr hoher Qualität die man auch schmeckt! Definitiv weiter zu empfehlen und auszuprobieren. Keine Lieferung dafür aber sehr gut besucht. Es empfiehlt sich telefonisch vorzubestellen. Für mich Persönlich die Anlaufstelle Nr. 1 was Pizza angeht 🇮🇹

Die beste Pizza machen wir selber haha aber für Außerhalb Hut ab- besonders Kalamata hat mich in der Kombination beim Belag sehr überzeugt- nice - wenn wir mal wieder in Greifswald sind kommen wir gerne nochmal vorbei.. Ich liebe es, wenn man sich qualitativ auf wenige aber dafür ausgezeichnete Produkte beschränkt - Keep it simple Weiter so!!! Nette Brigade am Ofen und sogar Kinder dürfen rein 😉

Supergute Pizza, Hut ab! Lange Teigführung (36 Stunden), von daher super verträglich – und sehr lecker! Der verwendete Mozzarella ist übrigens laktosefrei, also perfekt bei Laktoseintoleranz. Gut dass ich nicht um die Ecke wohne, sonst würde ich sehr oft dort essen.. ;)

Pizza ist wirklich stark, obwohl der Rand nicht gut aussieht. Beläge abwechslungsreich und hervorragend. Teig dünn kross top. Karte top designed sehr gute Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Preise sind auch sehr ok Bereicherung für Greifswald

Eine der der besten Pizzen die ich je gegessen habe! Der Chef kocht dort auch selbst und es war sehr nett sich mit ihm zu unterhalten. Ich würde da öfter hingehen, wenn es nicht so weit weg von mir wäre ( 830 km).

Beste Pizza die wir seit langem gegessen haben. Wünsche wurden erfüllt . Die Jungs sind mega cool dort super nett und lustig drauf , da mcht das Essen richtig Spaß. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Diese Pizzeria ist jetzt fester Anlaufpunkt für uns wenn wir in Greifswald sind . Super weiter so. Besser geht's nicht .

Selten so eine leckere Pizza gegessen. Frische Zutaten, transparente Zubereitung. Die Inhaber/Mitarbeiter sind wirklich sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Es wird einem schnell klar, dass sie richtig Spaß daran haben, ihre Gäste zufrieden zu stellen. Ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert!

Wir haben während unseres Urlaubs auch eine Pizzeria gesucht und haben diese aufgrund der sehr positiven Bewertungen ausgesucht. Ich muss sagen, dass war mit Abstand die beste Pizza die ich je gegessen habe. Wir waren drei mal dort und haben fast alle Pizzen auf der Karte getestet und alle waren der Hammer. Wenn ihr eine wirklich gute Pizza sucht, mit einem mega sympathischen Team, kommt definitiv hier her. Rechtzeitig reservieren oder bestellen nicht vergessen.

Wir haben auf der Durchreise eine Super leckere und frische Pizza gegessen. Sehr uriges Ambiente mit nur 12. Sitzplätzen im Lokal und ein nettes Gespräch mit dem Chef während unsere Pizza gebacken wurde. Alles Top!!!
