The staff was more than “just” overwhelmed. There was a wedding at noon and that meant there would be nice decorations etc. Very pretty! But that means that day-to-day business gets disrupted. Not nice. Ordering by scanning is a great thing. If only the kitchen or anyone else would really play along. But it will get a second chance.

Food super tasty. The fries in particular are really tasty. One of the waitresses was a bit overwhelmed...it was probably due to some of the guests simply not being able to behave. Otherwise everything was really flawless and it's really worth eating there.

Recharging your batteries here after a long hike is divine, beautiful views and super nice staff. You can order and pay online with your cell phone or with a waitress. Food was a little unsalted but that was quickly remedied. Overall a 4.5/5

I was really excited. A diverse menu, friendly service and a spectacular view while eating. What more could you want? There are QR codes on the tables so you can order and pay for your food using your cell phone. This way you can order as soon as everyone has decided and leave without waiting long for the bill. It was a great day

Unfortunately it is already very automated. Ordering is done via mobile phone. Specializing in currywurst and schnitzel with fries. Higher price range. There is also a self-service stand. Fries were O.K.

Great view from the terrace. I really missed vegan alternatives when it came to eating here! Unfortunately there was a bit of chaos in the service - food and drink orders were unfortunately lost.

We only had something to drink, so we can't say anything about the food. Seems like pretty good canteen food. The prices are reasonable for one of these. Unfortunately, you can smoke everywhere, which makes it unbearable to enjoy the view and the cool drink.

There are 5 stars for the wonderful view, the friendly staff, the fast service and the delicious food. Here you can relax and feel good. It's worth sitting there and enjoying the surroundings.

We come from Bad Honnef and regularly hike up to the Drachenfels. Unfortunately, we have experienced several times that it was closed when the weather was nice, even though it was supposed to be open according to the opening times. The young waitresses were all in a bad mood at 5:15 p.m. because people still wanted to order something to drink, “the kitchen is already closed” and they let the guests feel this. Given the fantastic location, it's really a shame!

I think the Scan & Order idea is great. It was quick, uncomplicated and everyone was happy.

The prices are exorbitantly expensive. Also for the beautiful view. The train journey isn't exactly cheap either. You should consider not hiking instead. This can quickly become expensive, especially with children.

Stayed there with a beautiful view

I understand that everything has its price. However, with an expensive 12.90 euro currywurst fries, you can't put fresh mayonaise on the fries, but rather a packaged Heinz mayonaise bag with 17 ml content (not even enough for the small McDonald's fries) is charged at 1 euro (Purchasing price certainly under 15 cents), I find it modest and outrageous. This is how you mess things up with your guests.

A really fantastic location! Wonderful view, nice seats on the large terrace. Top! But unfortunately that was it. The overpriced food was on the level of a third-class motorway service station or gas station after midnight. The schnitzels are of course the cheapest ready-made product, as are the fries. That then costs €18.50! A mini sachet of mayo €1!!!!! Outrageous.

We ordered online and waited probably 40 minutes for beer and juice. Everyone else got their orders before us. We were told three times that someone would be coming soon and were continually ignored.

It is a castle from about 140 years ago that is very well preserved. It is worth it for the interior, gardens and views It costs about 18 euros to enter with the shuttle train that takes you up and down. You can also go up and/or down on foot but there is a lot of unevenness. It has a terrace with a cafeteria but we did not use it. Also an ice cream cart. At the top there is a vestige of a tower and another terrace with even better views.

Scan & order? Never again! While we ordered and paid online, the table next door ordered from the waitress. They got drinks after 10 minutes, we waited 19 minutes for two juices.

We were able to enjoy a small scoop of ice cream together! It was good, but the choices had been robbed, there was nothing left... But hey, we went to console ourselves by taking a trip to the store. Where we finally found the legendary dragon of this mountain. Even if we didn't buy it, we gave it a little first name: Albert!

2 of 3 menus were ok. The penne was absolutely inedible!!! Accordingly, they were cleared away - our problem, not theirs 🙄

Everything was very quick, friendly and tasty.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet our expectations: the currywurst was not grilled until crispy, the sauce was very sour and the fries were so hard that they were barely edible. In addition, you had to wait forever for the service staff (they referred to an online ordering system, for which you need a credit card or PayPal). Next time we'll get a kebab in Königswinter (at least the price-performance ratio is right there).

We had a very good experience at the snack bar at Drachenfels. The food was tasty and of good quality. I particularly liked that you had the option to conveniently order with your cell phone, but could also do it the traditional way. The prices were reasonable. We sat outside in the open air which made the atmosphere even more pleasant. All in all, a great place for a meal after a hike at Drachenfels!

Went up there twice half an hour before the official closing time after a long hike - both times it was already closed. Don't rely on something to drink after a long day

Inside you can only order using a QR code and sit in a fairly cool room. Little atmosphere. The food is slightly exaggerated, but this is due to the location and is therefore acceptable. Unfortunately the service failed. The waitress accidentally spilled a cup on me, but instead of apologizing, she simply ran away. During the subsequent cleaning, the floor and chairs were cleaned quickly, but I wasn't even offered a cloth.

Unfortunately, during our visit (June 23), the service wasn't that good. Some of the 3 waiters were stressed and totally overwhelmed with the many tables. As a guest, you first have to open the card and order using a QR code. Then pay in advance. Our cake came very quickly after a few minutes, but the coffee only came after 30 minutes and had cooled down. Other guests waited longer than 45 minutes and then insulted the young waitress. She was at her wits' end. On the one hand, the digital menu and ordering relieves the waiters, but frustration increases because of the advance payment. The operator should hire more staff on busy days and also take on responsibility towards customers, otherwise the current waiters will soon be gone.

It's nice to sit there and enjoy the view. The train will take you up and down again if you want. I liked it. You should have done it.

The concept of ordering and collection is confusing & unfortunately not signposted.

The restaurant at Drachenfels has a fantastically beautiful view. Food is to go, you have to order at the checkout and pick it up yourself and the prices are quite high.

Perfectly organized! Ideal Scan&Go system for such high crowds as this sunny Sunday! No waiting for waiters, ordering on your cell phone, paying with ApplePay (or credit card or Paypal) at the touch of a button. Drinks came after 2 minutes, food after 4 minutes. Fries were hot and crispy, waffles were wonderfully fluffy. Prices fair. This is how it should be everywhere!

Unfortunately nothing was eaten

The view(s) are fantastic. From Cologne Cathedral to the Siebengebirge, beautiful impressions can be collected here. The Drachenfelsbahn 12 euros per person for the 5-minute ride on the very slow train is clearly a rip-off. In addition, the staff at the Drachenbahn is unfriendly!! The castle ruins themselves are quite small, but also offer a beautiful view. The new plateau with restaurant is too modern for me, the prices in the catering industry are a bit too high...

It's nice to have something to drink or eat up there and enjoy the view.

We did the climb on foot. Partly very narrow and steep, but definitely doable. Upstairs we drank delicious beer and ate a little something - at a somewhat excessive price for me. The view was extremely beautiful

We were there because of the ruins. We ate at the chip shop next to the restaurant. The prices were ok. Therefore no review of the restaurant. The view is very beautiful.

We only had fries for the kids. Everyone else in our group only drinks. Everything was very tasty and arrived quickly after ordering with a QR code that could be scanned at the table. With the view in sunny weather you can hardly imagine anything better. We will be back!

Very unfriendly blonde lady who takes the order. You shouldn't argue with your guests if misunderstandings arise and you certainly shouldn't mention that you're stressed. 2 stars go for the young and friendly temporary workers who deliver orders.

There were delicious waffles with cream and cherries

Were you hurt by my comment that you deleted it? I can write again. How is it that the bar is open for some guests and you serve beer to their tables, while it is closed for other foreign guests? This young blonde waitress would have had a great career 85 years ago. I do not recommend this bar to anyone, it is better to eat a dry roll and drink some water and not even look at the staff.

Something went wrong here. I asked if I can order a beer and the waitress said no but at the same time she was holding two beers and delivering those to the table.

The star for the view, service was miserable, long waiting times, inexperienced, untrained, very rude staff. And we were there on a weekday where there wasn't much going on. Don't want to know how any larger events would go. Were very disappointed.

Very nice view of Bad Honnef, the climb up there is extremely demanding, it's really steep up, so I would recommend the Drachenfelsbahn, even there you have a great view 😀 I find the food up there too expensive for fries at 3.50 euros, but I think everything is really nice

Would love to come back. Very friendly staff. The salmon was fresh and delicious. With a glass of white wine, perfect. Dessert tip top, cheesecake.

The coffee and cakes are delicious. But some waitresses are very unfriendly.

There was no shandy or non-alcoholic beer in the outdoor dining area

Despite ordering with the app, it takes what feels like an eternity with few visitors and the service staff are not at all friendly. It's a shame for such a great location.

That's probably nothing, and no longer worth a visit. The tables were not cleaned and at least 6 tables were not cleared. The tables were then wiped with a wet cloth but not dried. Then the Oberhammer, I know you want to keep up with the times and there are hardly any staff. You order via app. And when you pay you can, but you don't have to, tip. I find the mere possibility of tip payments before ordering via the app and payment by credit card or Paypal before I receive the goods to be cheeky. After placing the order, the cake arrived and 15 minutes later the drinks. The espresso was cold, but was replaced without any problems. The cappuccino was lukewarm but still drinkable. Then a waitress said, "Sorry it's taking so long, but that's what happens when everyone orders at once." Now it's other guests' fault that everything is taking so long. So that's not how gastronomy works at all. If that's the future, then I see black. No longer worth a visit for me.

Great bookstore with lots of cute details and corners for reading. The staff is extremely friendly. That's how fun it is :)

Very nice atmosphere. Very good, friendly service despite the high number of guests. It was a meal, but the reaction to it was relaxed and optional. A very good soup of the day with vegetables. Schnitzel with potato salad was very tasty. Regional dishes. In summer there is also a terrace with a great view of the Rhine. We will be back. Thanks.

Vielleicht sollte das Reservierungssystem OpenTable sich mal mit dem Restaurant in Verbindung setzen. Unsere Reservierung (für Sylvesterabend) ist dort nämlich nicht angekommen. Der Betreiber hat sich aber dafür entschuldigt und uns als Ausgleich zu einem Essen eingeladen, was ich ihm hoch anrechne! Also, Sylvester war nicht schön, aber ich denke, wir werden das Drachenfels Restaurant ein andermal genießen können.

The restaurant was closed despite the stated opening... I won't go that route anymore just to find myself in front of a closed door.
