Were here for the first time at the weekend. We were more than satisfied. The Gözleme in particular are highly recommended. You can tell that no processed ingredients are used in the preparation. Everything is prepared fresh. The owner/manager is also very nice and attentive. She puts so much heart and soul into her dishes. You can tell and taste it. Everything is also very clean. You can eat on site, there are tables and chairs. We'll be back soon!

Undisputedly the best Pide & Gözleme in the city. Here you can tell that everything is cooked with meaning and love and, above all, freshly. Red and white cabbage is homemade, something you rarely see. The meat still has some potential - it doesn't always have to be kebab ;)

We ate here for the first time today. We ordered a pizza and lahmacun including kebab meat. I just say WOW!!!! The Lahmacun tasted like it was made from scratch and the pizza was better than at some Italian restaurants. The owner is super nice and welcomed us very well. A little small talk after dinner at our table with tea was a good ending. The products here are Helal and no alcohol is offered. The decoration is very stylish and makes you feel comfortable. I'm happy to recommend it and will eat here myself more often.

Unfortunately not recommended at all. You order in advance so you don't have to wait, the food is stated as ready for pickup and when you arrive the food isn't even ready and you have to say your complete order again. This means that you have to wait another 10-15 minutes on site despite pre-ordering. Unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly tasty either, very greasy and tasted like fat. Unfortunately we had to throw everything away at home. It's a shame because "the kebab shop" isn't exactly cheap.

The kebab was mega small, but expensive and they don't accept cards because they do money laundering.

Very good kebab snack bar with delicious dishes. Gözleme and kebab plates are highly recommended. The friendly, competent service and affordable prices make it worth a visit. Gladly again.

The dishes in the kebab shop are extremely tasty, especially Gözleme, the portions are definitely big enough to fill you up and the prices are absolutely fair. There is also a good vegetarian selection. The staff are extremely friendly and warm, our group of seven was brought a selection of sauces and a potato specialty from the boss. We'll definitely be back!

The kebab plate was more like a small children's kebab but had ordered a kebab plate and paid €12 to be full? Not even taste catches these people extremely bold. Well, I weigh 125 kg and 197 cm but still when I saw the box that was brought for the "doner kebab plate" I wanted to break off. You won't find smaller plates anywhere. Breaking off smaller plates in this shop is forbidden

Culinary highlight in the heart of Mainz-Bretzenheim.

There's a lot more to the rather inconspicuous-looking "The Döner Shop" than just kebabs and the like! Of course you can get a super tasty kebab here. But it's also worth asking about the changing Turkish specialties (e.g. the delicious manti) and sitting down in the shop. In addition, the boss is incredibly warm and worth the visit alone. Absolute insider tip!

Ordered at 8 p.m. Order confirmed. Order canceled at 9 p.m. without giving any reason. No longer reachable by phone as it is closed from 9 p.m. This is really bad customer service and guarantees 1 less customer

Good food, friendly people. I am absolutely satisfied! I would be happy if there was a can of chili flakes at every table. One can for the entire store is a bit too little. ;)

The kebab gets 3.4 out of 5 stars from me. It's a classic standard kebab that you can't go wrong with. The kebab pictured was ordered with extra meat and costs €8.50. The staff were friendly.

Delicious little kebab in Mainz. I can only recommend it. Had the Gözleme with kebab meat and fries. Delicious. Only the fries could have used another 4 to 5 minutes in the deep fryer.

We have eaten at the kebab shop several times and unfortunately the results have been very mixed. Sometimes kebabs, lamacun and the like are well filled with meat and vegetables, sometimes you really have to look for the meat and the rest of the contents. Today the latter was the case again. Unfortunately, this has happened more often lately. Especially when you pre-order by phone for pickup, I have the impression that there is a lack of content. The kebab was only half full, in Lamacun you had to look for meat and sauce despite ordering extra meat and extra sauce. It was almost dry. Despite being picked up quickly, the "large fries" were flabby and the kebab box with rice was a kebab box with fries... We wondered how so much could have gone wrong in the 15 minutes between ordering and pickup. Our tip: it's best to go there instead of ordering by phone and watching, as that hasn't happened to us yet.

Unfortunately the Dürum was raw, what with the quantity, the vegetables were also quite sad. Maybe it's about electricity and output for ingredients to rafters. Never again.

Always very tasty! The Dürüm is always freshly baked in the oven and tastes great with grilled vegetables. I like the atmosphere in the kebab shop. The staff is always very warm and friendly. Keep it up!! :)

Wonderful owner couple - both very nice people - especially the lady of the house with so much heart and love, nothing more is possible! And she knows, a little cocktail sauce directly over the meat, then the other ingredients - just perfect! Especially the Dürüm, with flat cakes freshly prepared and freshly baked in the oven in front of your eyes (like Lahmacun etc. too - simply wonderful)!

I'm actually used to it differently. Unfortunately it was only noticed at home. Doner special, where you have to look for the meat. Doner extremely small. Employee not particularly motivated. It probably depends on who makes the kebab. Of course it was very warm, but you have to expect that at the workplace.

We became aware of the kebab shop because of an Instagram post and wanted to form our own opinion. And lo and behold, we have been confirmed in taste, friendliness and warmth. The typical Turkish hospitality paired with handmade dishes like those from mothers convinced us. Especially the Gözleme and Lahmacun with meat and salad were really tasty! The one-star reviews are pure rubbish and completely incomprehensible. Go and test it out, then you will agree with us 😉

Great, just great! We were there for the first time today and it won't be the last time. Value for money for what you get on your plate is absolutely justified. Fresh and good ingredients are used here. On top of that, the atmosphere and the staff are authentic and super nice. We met a very warm and friendly owner who even served our kebab herself. It was super tasty, not too much, not too little. Just right for us and really satisfactory. We are thrilled with your kebabs. Keep it up !!!

I wonder why we didn't go here much sooner. Went here for the first time today and was really impressed. The scent almost pulls you in, the atmosphere is cozy and the owner is really warm and friendly. We had a kebab and a kebab plate. The kebab was on point, just as you would imagine a kebab to be. No matter where you took a bite, there was always sauce, meat and salad everywhere. Really delicious 😋. When my friend asked, she got the kebab plate with fries and rice. Not only did it look delicious, but it tasted really great☺️. I think price-performance is completely okay for what you get here. We would love to come back 😌

Very good Gözleme, kebab and kebab plates just okay. Relatively hefty prices for the quantities, unfortunately this also applies to the drinks. Employees are always friendly, sometimes overwhelmed. The ambience is fine, but it's just a kebab shop. The “benches” outside are nice in summer. Update: Unfortunately Gözleme became very expensive and in the end it was burnt and definitely not worth the money. It's a shame - now that Bretzenheim is flourishing, the kebab shop is unfortunately getting worse.

This has been out favorite Döner place since living in Mainz. The owners are always so hardworking and somehow still personable and genuine. Everything is made with love and they treat their customers so well. I will miss being able to go here after we move.

The boss puts a lot of heart into it, you can tell and taste it. Perfect in terms of taste and quality, consistently good; please continue. We order here often, highly recommended.

It was our first time eating here. The service was very friendly and the food (döner plate and pizza) was good to very good. The ambience seemed inviting with a few minor flaws, but overall it was very clean. We would definitely eat here again.

Very nice owner, the Gözleme are the highlight of the menu. Otherwise pretty standard. The map is too big to be truly special.

Unfortunately, the kebab has become significantly smaller (and at the same time more expensive) in the last few months, so you can hardly get enough of it. The sauces are positive, especially the hot one, which is much spicier compared to other kebabs! Edit after a month: since the kebab shop has offered an online portal, the waiting times on site have been very long. If you don't want to wait more than 20 minutes, you should definitely order in advance

It's been a while since I've been here, but the kebab was soooo delicious!! Finally a skewer without chicken! Friendly owner who welcomed me as if I was a regular customer, delicious sauce, fresh salads! Guys, go and see for yourself. The meat is amazing! The stalls in the city center that only offer gristly chicken can't keep up!

Some prices have been increased by three euros. Justified by the alleged tax increase. Simply ridiculous, but it was always my favorite kebab shop and I even drove there from the old town. Now I will only go there very rarely. However, the service and quality of the food remained very good.

Sympathische, freundliche Mitarbeiter. Man merkt, dass es ein Familienbetrieb ist. Schöne, vom Besitzer selbst gemachte Inneneinrichtung. Essen war gut, wenn auch schnell kalt. Danach gab es Tee und Baklava.

Sind zufällig an dem Restaurant vorbei gekommen und haben es ausprobiert. Wir sind absolut begeistert von dem netten Empfang der Besitzer und haben uns auf eine Empfehlung des Hauses eingelassen ( Dönerteller spezial auf Art der Chefin). Absolut lecker und Empfehlenswert. Und wer noch was mitnehmen mag, sollte unbedingt eine Gözleme nehmen. Ist man in Berlin nicht besser!

Wir haben dort zum abholen bestellt und wurden so lieb begrüßt und durften sogar die selbstgemachten Soßen probieren, diese können wir sehr empfehlen vorallem die Cocktail Soße. Hervorragender Döner mit pikanter Schärfe. Habe schon viele Dönerläden in Mainz besucht und muss sagen, dass dieser mir besonders gut gefallen hat. Definitiv weiterzuempfehlen ! :-)

Leider waren wir heute enttäuscht. Preise erhöht,aber gleichzeitig der Döner wirklich sehr spärlich belegt. Gözleme mit Spinat, den man allerdings suchen musste. Das für 17.50 € nicht gerechtfertigt. Wir waren sonst immer zufrieden.Hat da der Besitzer inzwischen gewechselt?

Die Speisen schmecken sehr gut. Leider ist der Döner gefühlt bei jedem Besuch 50 Cent oder 1€ teurer. Oftmals sind trotz telefonischer Vorbestellung die Sachen nicht fertig und man muss dann doch noch warten, bis die Pommes fertig sind.

Süßer Dönerladen mit absolut herzlichem Service! Der Döner selbst war gut, aber nicht herausragend (Teig hätte etwas größer sein können und es gab zu viel Soße - das Fleisch war aber sehr lecker). Ich komme wieder, allein schon wegen der netten Bedienung!

Seit das Restaurant eine neue Besitzerin hat gehe ich hier sehr gerne essen. Die Chefin ist sehr freundlich und nett. Da kommt man gerne wieder Ihren Dürümteig macht sie, sowie ihre Salate, Cuscus, Baklava und vieles mehr alles selbst. Sehr lecker.👍 Ihren selbstgemachten Tabouleh-Salat zusammen mit ihrem selbstgemachten Cuscus ist eine Empfehlung, die unbedingt probiert werden sollte 👌 Dazu gibt es noch leckeren Tee. Die Preise für das Angebot sind absolut fair

Bester Döner in Mainz! Die Dönerpizza ist wahnsinnig gut und das Fleisch ist sehr frisch. Wir hatten auch eine vegetarische Pizza, die auch hervorragend war. Die Besitzerin, die uns bedient hat war sehr freundlich. Absolut zu empfehlen!!
