There were two of us eating there. I had Hawaiian chicken skewers with Hasselback potatoes, and my companion had entrecôte with western potatoes. My absolute favorite part was the Hasselback potatoes. I haven't had such amazing potatoes in ages. The meat was also incredibly delicious and juicy, as expected. Highly recommended! 5/5

Great service and delicious food at fair prices

We were a group of four at Clown on Saturday and were extremely disappointed. The two servers were completely overwhelmed by the situation (two dining rooms and an outdoor area), which wasn't due to a lack of willingness or qualifications on their part, but simply because two servers aren't enough for over 60 guests. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and 90 minutes for our food. The food was just about acceptable, but not worth the prices. Chicken burgers made with convenience meat from a deep fryer, soggy steakhouse fries, and you expect a different level of quality and flavor from good dry-aged beef.

A fantastic tuna steak on a bed of salad with a fried egg. The tuna was perfectly seared, cooked to a perfect blue color as requested, as an appetizer for two. Followed by lunch, we enjoyed a 12-hour braised pork steak with French fries or a farmer's skewer with potato wedges. We also had two dark wheat beers. All this with a friendly welcome and impeccable service. We'd gladly return.

When we ordered, only six tables were occupied. An hour after opening, several dishes were sold out. After a 40-minute wait, everything was served cold. The fries were cold and dry, the burger bun even refrigerator-cold. The only warm thing was the smash patty, which was also dried out, burnt in some parts, and therefore tasted bitter. We had enjoyed coming here for lunch and dinner until now. This was the last time. Edit for the owners' response: 1. The only waiter was so overwhelmed (he had to do the work of at least three people alone) that he didn't get a chance to ask how the food was. Furthermore, avoiding confrontation is a personal choice. 2. I recommend you handle reviews more professionally. Slandering people with lies only harms your business. The proof of payment is attached. 3. I don't usually write reviews if I'm not satisfied. In this case, I'm extremely glad I didn't.

Large cut steak and burgers. Both are delicious. And the prices are reasonable; you have to be aware that you're paying accordingly for a steak around a kilo. We come here about every six months, every time we're in Hall. The service is always excellent—attentive, friendly, and fast. And the food has never disappointed me. Try the Roquefort sauce; I think it goes really well with the garlic fries.

The service staff was extremely friendly, but clearly overwhelmed by the number of guests. The steak that was recommended to us was unfortunately very tough and absolutely not worth the price of around €50. Perhaps the kitchen was simply having an off day, but there are plenty of alternatives for us, so we won't be returning.

We recently visited Clown and received excellent service; I highly recommend it. The food was delicious, and I'm going back next week with my wife. I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant, so please go there if you're looking for a tasty meal.

First of all, I want to explicitly state that this review excludes any criticism of the service or those providing it. We were initially shown to a room behind the building, which, while less attractive than the others, was still quaint. Looking at the menu, it became clear that at these prices, we would either be getting very good quality or we would leave dissatisfied. Fortunately, we opted for a cheaper alternative, the entrecote for just under €40, because everything that followed was a farce. We noticed some dissatisfaction at the next table. Our steaks arrived faster than expected. The requested doneness levels of medium and medium-rare were either ignored or incorrectly achieved. The medium steak was well-done, and the medium-rare was roughly medium (see picture). I ate the medium steak, more on that later, but the one that was completely well-done was complained about. A few minutes later, the next steak arrived and was completely raw inside (see picture). My companion didn't want a replacement either and, logically, complained again. Another server came by and offered a free burger, but shortly after, they brought another steak from the kitchen, this time cooked to medium. In the end, we only had to pay half price, which was good. Because of this kindness at the end, I initially didn't want to leave a review. However, I have to, because, as I mentioned before, I wanted to talk about the steaks we ate. They weren't seasoned properly, and the meat quality was terrible. It was awful; the steak tasted of nothing and couldn't even come close to the quality of many steaks I've prepared at home. The chimichurri was simply oil with a little garlic and herbs. You could say it wasn't terrible, but it really wasn't good. If I'd been served this in a normal restaurant, I might not have complained, but this is a steakhouse. Of course, getting the doneness wrong is unforgivable, but it might be better on other days. But to deliver this quality at these prices is shameful. Furthermore, the entire service concept needs to be reconsidered, as we were constantly asked if we had ordered any drinks that the server had with her. I can't say anything positive about my visit. If the steaks had turned out to be good, I might have given it another try, but as it is, all I can say is: Never again!

I wanted to spend a nice evening with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, the experience at Clown was a huge disappointment! The food was good, to be fair. The service, however, was very disorganized, overwhelmed, and slow. Like so often in the restaurant industry, it was probably just unqualified. As for the experience: 30 minutes waiting for our order to be taken. Another 30 minutes for the drinks. Then another 45 minutes for the food. Both men's restrooms were broken, and there was no hand soap. As the owner, I would seriously consider how many guests I can serve with reasonable waiting times.

After waiting an hour for our mini tacos and another hour for our steaks, you'd expect at least the cooking to be right, but that wasn't the case. One arrived medium as requested, the other extremely rare. Stories from the Paulaner garden tell of three waiters who were supposed to be serving us. You had a 20-second window to get their attention, after which you had to wait another 40 minutes. The only exception was a table that arrived 45 minutes later and received their food twice before us. Another couple gave up waiting and were told to leave after asking for the bill three times. They were sent to the front to pay. I hope they just left without paying; I would have gladly done the same.

The absolute worst experience, the worst feeling for me when I reserve a table. I called a second time and made a reservation, drove there, and after entering, there were about 10 people waiting, all with reservations. No service, no one even spoke to us. Why did you reserve a table for me and then leave 10 people standing in the hallway for half an hour? What a dump! Never again.

After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes for our appetizer, which arrived at different times (meaning I had already finished eating by the time my boyfriend's arrived), and which also seemed to have been sitting in the kitchen for a while as it wasn't really hot anymore, we waited another 45 minutes for our main course. The service was truly awful, with only one waiter coming into our room every 10 minutes, bringing food to someone, and then leaving again immediately. Our drinks were empty for over an hour, and no one had noticed, and no waiter had served us (despite us calling out). We overheard another couple who had arrived before us cancel their order because it hadn't even been prepared yet. So we did the same and paid for our drinks (the appetizers were then complimentary) and went home. It was a real shame, as we had been really looking forward to the meal and the evening.

I have come on Valentine day with my Boyfriend , we booked at 8pm but reached 10pm without what we ordered. We were very dissappointed .

We were here for dinner as a couple. We both ordered the Sinatra cut. Despite asking about this dish beforehand, contrary to what the server had told us, there was bone in it. The meat was of good quality and cooked well. The price was above average.

We spontaneously decided to try this steakhouse and were more than pleasantly surprised. We had lunch at the steakhouse Der Clown on Sunday and it was a truly wonderful experience. I was only in Schwäbisch Hall for one day and wanted to find something to eat in the evening. I found this restaurant, "Der Clown," on Google, the pictures appealed to me, and I wasn't disappointed. The food was really good, the small restaurant was nicely and comfortably furnished, and the staff was very friendly, attentive, and kind. The food was very good, which is to be expected given the prices. The atmosphere is cozy, but noisy. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely booked. This meant we had to wait a total of two hours for our food (one hour for appetizers and one hour for the main course). Unfortunately, despite repeated requests, the servers failed to bring our (simple) orders (drinks and extra salads).

Despite the large group, we received an immediate, very friendly welcome and were quickly seated. The service was top-notch: attentive, warm, and perfectly organized. The food was consistently excellent – ​​most of us had burgers that not only looked great but also tasted amazing. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the sides were fresh and delicious. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the prices: really fair for a steakhouse, rather inexpensive, especially considering the quality and the great service. I ordered two smashed burgers for pickup over the phone. Everything went great. Best food in town by far. I'd happily go back anytime and a thumbs up to the kitchen.

Perfect dinner. Was great service, from very friendly personel. The food tasted great and the drinks were also good. I have nothing to complain about. It's not the cheapest restaurant but you get what you pay for. We will come back, and we highly recommend it!

I generally think the food there is very good and tasty, but the last time I was there, the wrong food was served after a 1.5-hour wait, and it wasn't really warm either. The dishes and cutlery weren't particularly clean. I think that's a shame. Hopefully, this review will help change that.

Only found out about the higher price when it was served. No attempt to accommodate the guest. We've been there for lunch several times now. After we had ordered something different from the lunch menu every now and then, we were better off sticking with the smashed burger with fries from the lunch menu for around €12. Every time we visited we had to point out that there was no soap at the sink, no towels, or that the toilet paper was out. In addition, one of the drinks you want is always out of stock (apple juice, Mohrenköpfle - not there even though it is on the menu) or paying in cash is complicated because there is no change. I supported the wobbly table with a folded napkin... This continued to lie snugly under the table leg for 5 weeks and apparently didn't get in the way when I wiped it out. -> I won't open my restaurant like that. We still went there a few times at lunchtime because the smashed burger from the lunch menu is fair at around €12. -> But this time was the last time. We were there with guests (again no toilet paper in the cabin, unfortunately the drinks we ordered weren't there, despite the mentioned egg allergy, mayonnaise was used, etc.), ordered the smashed burger 4 times from the lunch menu and more. When the food was served, we found out that the boss decided not to offer a lunch menu today because yesterday was a holiday (you won't find the logic). When we asked the service that it didn't work that way and we were very upset about having to pay €20 for the usual burger instead of €12, all they said was "The boss decided that way for today. It was a mistake that there was a lunch menu on the table." We won't come back, you're losing a customer here. Unfortunately, the restaurant had no interest in finding a solution here. Quite the opposite. We were asked back whether it wasn't exaggerating to be angry. It was only about €15 that was overpaid because the lunch menu was spontaneously not valid today. (The burgers now cost €80 instead of €48, and the mistake wasn't the guest's fault). And it is the restaurant that would rather lose a guest because of this amount. The most annoying thing is that the restaurant loses the guest for the future and does nothing at all.

This restaurant is worth a visit, the food and the service were super good and we will definitely come back.

The map sounds promising, the implementation is stable. In Schwäbisch Hall you would expect a different quality of meat with a more regional reference. The Clown delivers a steakhouse feeling from the 90s: steak with fries and sauces with an “unusual” taste. Unfortunately there is little modern grill and BBQ feeling... today you also expect convincing side dishes... vegetables, fresh ingredients and creativity. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The store is also busy. In the end, the clown was missing that little extra that makes you want to come back again.

Haven't been to “the clown” for years. I am familiar with the ambience and find it very appealing even for a steakhouse!! The most important thing, the food... I ordered a beef fillet (medium), unfortunately it was completely raw... I sent it back to fry, then it came back half charred. In addition, the last part of the steak had a fatty and gristly edge around it. The rest of the dishes were partly good, crispy chicken burgers and the rigatoni were also very tasty. BUT it can't be that the worst food in a steakhouse is the steak... About the service: The plates were still on the tables 30 minutes after the last person had finished, and the bartender's recommended cocktail was good for that.

Even though the store was empty, I got something different than what I ordered after an hour and a half. The burger arrived raw. Thank God it only costs 20 euros.

Ate cheeseburger with “mac & cheese” for the first time in the house yesterday. Price/performance unfortunately not justified... Cheeseburger with good meat had too much mayo and instead of bacon there were diced ham on it... unfortunately mac & cheese had absolutely nothing to do with what was served (baked penne).

Four of us went to the clown yesterday. Conclusion: food with weaknesses, unfortunately service too. We had to ask twice about the dessert menu and the espresso we ordered only came after we asked further. Half of my cocktail (Black Hugo) consisted of just ice. Two huge chunks of ice in an opaque black glass... There wasn't a single berry to be found in my friend's Lillet Berry, instead there were four grape halves. I think you can definitely have frozen berries in stock... The burger I ordered, the side dishes and my meat (fillet) were top notch, but our men's meat was very thin, not "medium" as ordered, but completely cooked through. That shouldn't happen, especially in a steakhouse. As an apology we were offered free schnapps or espresso. The three desserts we ordered were delicious, but were not served together. My husband had already finished his dessert when mine arrived...The tables in the restaurant are also very narrow, I sat back to back with the person at the table behind me. The two of us paid €120 for this evening, so the price-performance ratio is simply not right.

It was cold in the entire restaurant. Out of 5 meals, only one was ok and the correct order came. The steak was well done instead of medium and full of chilli oil or chilli flakes. The salmon steak was charred black. One burger was cold. Two orders came incorrectly or incomplete. Out of 5 meals, only one was right and OK. Plus 1½ hours waiting time for the food. Juicy prices for that. That was the last time for us in the restaurant.

We had a reservation for lunch. The restaurant has a trendy decor, the welcome was friendly, and the service was a bit sloppy but very engaging. We weren't cold either. The burgers (we tried three different ones) were all delicious, juicy, and well-seasoned. The bun had a great texture, and the smoky sauce was particularly good. The price was okay, but still affordable. We'll be back; next time we'll try the steaks 😄

We had to wait 15 minutes before we could order. After almost 20 minutes the drinks arrived. We only got the starter 45 minutes after we ordered it and the main course only came a little over 1.5 hours after we sat down. Or one hour and 20 minutes after ordering. In addition, the soap in the toilet was empty all evening. All in all very disappointing.

We ate there six months ago and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, today I experienced something completely different. We waited a total of 2 hours for our food. Unfortunately, no one came to offer us any more drinks in the meantime. Everything wouldn't have been so bad if everything had worked out with the food. Unfortunately, almost everything went wrong there too. Fries were ordered and wedges were brought. The bun of the burger was so burnt that it was unfortunately inedible. We then kindly pointed this out to the waiter. He also tried to make amends and accommodated us with the price. Overall, we are absolutely dissatisfied and still cannot understand what has changed so much in the last six months. Actually hurt for money.

I absolutely don't understand the negative reviews. I had dinner here for the first time with my family today. The restaurant was almost fully booked. The service staff (the two nice guys) gave us a very warm welcome. Even though we hadn't made a reservation, the owner was nice enough to organize a place for us anyway. As I said, the service staff were very, very nice and accommodating and of course they did their job very, very well, always with us asked again if we needed anything, if everything was OK. The spaghetti with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese and our starter salad with grilled chicken were very tasty. Even though the store was full, people came Our 2 entrecote steaks medium well done within 15 minutes. I've been to many very well-known steakhouses in Stuttgart and the surrounding area, but these steaks, fries and potato wedges were really the best and tastiest. It just doesn't get any better. The restaurant was very nice and very very clean. Price-performance unbeatable. Many thanks to the owner (head chef) and the entire team. We will 100 percent come back again and again. We are from Heilbronn, but for such good food and such good service we are happy to drive 1 hour to Schwäbisch Hall🙏🏻☺️❤️

It's a great place to sit outside. Great atmosphere. 😊 The food was okay. The burger was relatively tasty - the steak was nothing special. Unfortunately, the order was completely mixed up. The starter wasn't as described on the menu. The side dishes for the main course were completely mixed up, and we were asked to swap the side dishes (which were next to the burgers). After informing them that this wasn't possible, we were graciously given a proper portion of fries. We had to swap the rest.

We were here for lunch. Despite the extensive lunch offerings, we opted for the burgers and were not disappointed. Incredibly delicious smash and crispy chicken burger!
