Restaurant Alt Hall has been an institution in Schwäbisch Hall for decades. Delicious Greek food. Friendly, quick, and attentive service.

This meal was an absolute disaster. On the fish plate was the head of a lobster, but without the body! (No edible part at all.) The gyros was completely oversalted. The apple spritzer was colored sparkling water, and the liver was gristly. Never again. A real shame.

Exorbitant prices... And the staff wasn't exactly friendly! And with a group of 11, we didn't even get a single ouzo – how sad!

The location is lovely with a cozy atmosphere. The food is delicious, but in my opinion, a bit too expensive. Otherwise, everything is great, and I enjoy coming here.

We've eaten here many times. The restaurant is really lovely (especially the seating in the basement!), the waiters are very friendly, and the food is delicious. Especially the crispy gyros! So why don't I give the food 5 stars? The prices on the weekend were truly shocking. We completely understand that prices need adjusting – as is unfortunately the case everywhere. We understand that the waiters need to be paid. But the prices they're charging now are simply outrageous. It really knocked the wind out of us. Almost 20 euros for a simple gyros with fries and a dollop of tzatziki. The salad (consisting of 5 lettuce leaves, a thin slice of bell pepper, and a few other small things) cost me an extra 4 euros. Although we've always been happy to make the 60-minute drive, we've now reluctantly decided not to come back. We've reached our limit. Unfortunately... This hurts us more than it probably does the restaurant...😥 The government must finally do something!!!

A very nice restaurant with a fantastic vaulted cellar spread over three floors. Unfortunately, the appetizer arrived at the same time as the main course. An apology was offered, but the appetizer was cold because we had eaten the main course first. Overall, the service was friendly and attentive. The gyro meat was a bit tough and gristly. Rather pricey.

The food was delicious. The service was really good this time (that hasn't always been the case). Unfortunately, the whipped cream in the dessert was sour. The prices are a bit steep. But the Metaxa sauce is delicious!

An incredibly interesting place, with a very varied Greek menu. Many options, a welcoming atmosphere, polite and helpful staff, and very nice facilities. The basement area is a trip back to the medieval era. Everything is very cozy. I recommend trying the digestif served after meals.

It's definitely gotten more expensive, and the last time I had my gyro, it was so full of gristle that I spit out two pieces. €70 was way too much, and they charged extra for the salads. At some point, I'll be done with this restaurant... All the best.

A busy restaurant with a side room. No long wait times. Portions are rather small, but okay for a lunchtime offering. The food tastes good.

Everything was just WOW! The interior is truly beautiful, the service was first-class, and the food was incredibly delicious! I was most pleased that they have two vegan dishes on the menu. I had the eggplant half and it was so, so, so delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Super nice restaurant with a great outdoor area. Fast service at first. At some point, you seemed to be forgotten outside. Starter was delicious. Main course was unfortunately very salty (too salty). At least for my taste. No one asked, so I had no chance of sharing. Basically, I was very disappointed. Because the outside promised more than it actually was. Ambience and menu. So everyone can decide for themselves. I wouldn't go there again.

Thanks, but no thanks. Never again. 2 people, 1 appetizer with bread, 2 "fish platters" (1 piece of salmon, 1 shrimp, 1 octopus with some dry rice), and 2 drinks each for a mere 120 euros. I could eat better at home for a long time for that money. Or go to another restaurant. But never again to Alt Hall. Not to mention the unfriendly service and the dirty tables we were offered.

We reserved a table in the dining room for today. We were offered a table in the bar... find the mistake. The old man said all the tables in the dining room were reserved and got rude. We shouldn't be so fussy. We left again; he didn't care at all. They've been customers there for years. Or has there been a change of ownership?

Delicious gyros, reasonable prices We were there for Sunday lunch and were all satisfied with our meals. I can only speak for myself: The gyros with tzatziki and rice was delicious! I had a side salad with it. (I would have loved a steak, but the price is way too high for me!) We were less satisfied with the drinks: The 'Retisna' was NOT what connoisseurs expect! The selection of "table water" (bottles) is also disappointing: "Teinacher Gourmet," which is only slightly carbonated or still (€6.50 bottle), or "Voss" from Norway (€9 bottle)! What about guests who just want a "sparkling" (regional) mineral water at a reasonable price?

Beautiful beer garden, high-quality food at reasonable, but not cheap, prices. A reordered drink took a long time to arrive, but otherwise we were satisfied with the service.

Never again! We had reserved a table in the basement and received a confirmation. When we arrived, they wanted to give us a table on the terrace and explained that the basement was currently being renovated. What was the point of the reservation confirmation then?!

Alt Hall – Schwäbisch Hall – variable quality and quite high prices We've been visiting this restaurant regularly since I was a child, and now I've decided to give some detailed feedback. The restaurant itself always makes a well-kept and clean impression and has a rather classy feel overall. The staff could sometimes be a bit more motivated, but they're generally friendly. I have to say that the quality of the food varies considerably. There have been times when the dishes were truly excellent, and then again, phases when the food seemed borderline poor or poorly prepared. Due to rising prices and inflation, the portions have become quite small, but very expensive – and unfortunately, the value for money isn't always right. I'm aware that the restaurant has a prime location in the heart of the city center, but that's precisely why I would have expected more for the higher prices. Generally, I can recommend the restaurant, but with reservations. There are other Greek restaurants in Schwäbisch Hall that, in my opinion, offer more for a similar price and where the dishes are more consistently good. You really have to be careful what you order here, as the quality varies greatly between individual dishes. What's sold as souvlaki there has relatively little to do with what I consider a good souvlaki. I even saw a pre-packaged, pre-fried souvlaki at Rewe that looked quite similar – I don't want to imply that it wasn't homemade, but for me, there's simply more to a real souvlaki. On a positive note, I would like to point out that I really enjoyed the lamb shank on my last visit: It was tender, juicy, and tasted really good.

Not really a recommendation. The best part was the side salad. The wine? Cheapest mass-produced wine at a high price. Aperol Spritz: Glass filled to the top with ice, a splash of sparkling wine, a splash of Aperol. The color in the glass then turns a hint of pink.

The moussaka was tasty, but a little small, and the warm appetizer plate was meager. I found the service poor; reordering drinks only worked after several requests. Paying also only worked after repeated inquiries. In total, we were in the restaurant for over two hours and almost arrived late for the musical.

Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. It started with us being seated outside, despite having reserved a table and explicitly requesting an indoor table – but it worked out inside after all. Everything was fine. When the waitress cleaned the table assigned to us, she wiped the crumbs into my lap – a lame apology, okay. The waitress in question was later loudly insulted by a colleague in front of the customers for a different reason – that's completely unacceptable. We were finally allowed to place our food orders after about 45 minutes. An absolute joke. €17.90 for a "warm" appetizer platter consisting of five appetizers, some garnished with some kind of cocktail sauce from a tube, is quite a lot! I don't want to say much about the main course, except that the cucumber slices in the "tzatziki" were sliced ​​way too thick to make the whole thing a tragedy. Ah yes, when someone finally takes pity on you and brings the bill, they tell you to pay at the exit. That's fine, too! The ambiance reflects a zeitgeist I don't particularly like, but as we all know, tastes differ, and that's a good thing. Everyone should form their own opinion...

Great atmosphere, we were there with a large group, everything went perfectly, friendly service, delicious food, special requests were handled superbly. High praise for the kitchen and service.

Unfortunately, I can only confirm that neither the food nor the service were satisfactory. We had reserved a table and were simply sent to the back with some kind of table number. There's just no table number listed... Then it took forever for our order to be taken. A young lady was unfriendly and practically ignored us, clapping her glasses together. When we finally asked to order our food, we had to wait an hour and 15 minutes. When we asked, the simple answer was "it takes as long as it takes!" When the food finally arrived, and we were again just clapped, the gyro meat was cold, the fries were rock hard, and we had to hunt for the little bit of tzatziki. Price: over €20!!! I've been to many Greek restaurants, but I've never experienced anything this bad. We had tickets for a musical and arrived TWO HOURS before the show, but ended up having to rush to get there in time. Thank you for that!

Awful service… another example of a restaurant where young guests aren't taken seriously and feel like second-class guests… Plus, the plates were carelessly slapped down. No greeting either upon entering or leaving the restaurant. Good food, but not recommended due to the poor service.

I am absolutely not satisfied with my visit. To sum it up: Reserved a table - waited almost an hour for the order to even be taken. The drinks arrived 20 minutes later. The salad arrived 15 minutes later. The main course arrived another 20 minutes later. I had oven-baked pork fillet topped with cheese - the food was only lukewarm. And that after almost 2 hours of waiting. Overall, we are not satisfied. The food tastes good, but it's not enough for the price. Long waits. Bad service. Other guests outside were just as dissatisfied. If you have plenty of time and aren't hungry, you can visit the restaurant. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

My meal wasn't quite as tasty. I had the gyro with Metaxa sauce and fries. I found the meat quite fatty, but that's perhaps a matter of taste. The prices are quite high, and we couldn't pay with the "Heimatkaufen" card. To protect customers, the menu with the lunch specials and prices should be put away and not left out until the evening.

Hello, we ate at the restaurant today and there was a piece of plastic in one of the dishes. Unfortunately, when we brought it up, there was no real response—no apology, no explanation, no discount. It was simply ignored. Very disappointing, especially considering how customers treat us.

I was staying overnight for work and wanted to order some food for my hotel after a stressful day. I called specifically to ask if the gyros with rice and salad contained gluten, which is an allergen. The answer was a quick "yes," which I found a bit odd, so I explicitly asked again, "Does the gyros with rice and salad contain gluten? I have an intolerance to it and should not eat gluten-containing foods under any circumstances." Then came another "yes, yes, no gluten." Well, the end result is that I now have severe diarrhea and stomach problems, and it's caused by the gluten. Very annoying; I'd rather have an "I don't know" or "no." Please be careful if you have allergies in this restaurant!

Two years ago, it was still 5 stars. The bifteki tasted great and was rather too large. The fries were unfortunately not as good, and the number (it felt like 15 fries) was a limited side dish. There could have been a bit more tzatziki, too, considering the price was over €20. The restaurant and the beer garden have been beautifully renovated. Unfortunately, we were rarely served in the beer garden and often sat with empty glasses.

Service could be improved. We waited a long time for our food order and had to ask several times for bread for our appetizer. The food was good, but some portions were small (calamari).

We were there for dinner, having made an online reservation. Everything was great. The wait between the starter and the main course initially felt too long, but in retrospect, it was just right; it gave us a chance to digest a little. 😁 We'll be happy to go back next time we're in Hall.

We live near Alt Hall and always enjoy going there. The food is like in Greece, the ingredients are authentic and the staff is particularly nice. Holiday feeling guaranteed!

Yesterday we visited the Alt Hall. I had the #40 Calamarina with rosemary potatoes. The fish tasted very good, unfortunately the potatoes tasted like they came from a package and there was no sign of rosemary. The dish cost an impressive 24.50 and unfortunately it was a small portion that didn't fill me up. That really annoyed me. I actually should have said something straight away, but I didn't dare. The atmosphere in the newly renovated restaurant is really nice! Unless you want gyros or meat dishes, I unfortunately find the prices far too exorbitant.

We met up with my old colleagues in the Alt Hall. We were allowed to sit down in the basement, which is similar to a vaulted cellar. The atmosphere was really cool. For dinner I had a village plate and my friend ordered liver again. 🤢😂 Both were very tasty, so of course the liver was for my friend too 😉 Unfortunately our starter came before we had our drinks... However, this was made up for by two ouzos for everyone at the end 😉 but in the end it was a nice evening with good food.

Occasionally there is a lack of sympathy in the service. Otherwise the best Greek in the city area. I can recommend the number 49 to everyone. There is a risk of addiction with salad dressing!

I've always been really excited, even if my last visits were a while ago, but today's visit was unfortunately my last... We arrived at 5:30 p.m. without a reservation and were given a time-limited table, which made us very happy. Unfortunately that was the only positive thing about that evening... (I have been working in the catering industry for over 20 years and know that there can be bad days, but unfortunately that has nothing to do with it...) Salad dressing that resembles more of a jelly than a dressing and is only mixed with vinegar is not a knock-out criterion, but it doesn't speak of good quality either... The cold starter platter was so-so… the creams might have been homemade, but the seafood salad certainly wasn't… Rosemary potatoes that were sprinkled with a touch of grated rosemary and don't taste anything like it, which is sad (from the structure and texture it also looked like they were just thrown into the fry...) as well as a thyme sauce (for the liver) that only consisted of onions and Even with a lot of imagination it didn't even taste like it. The calamari should be from the pan. To be fair, it has to be said that it was neither natural nor fried, so it was difficult to rate because it was neither natural nor floured... In my opinion, leaving almost €100 for it is absolutely not appropriate and will unfortunately prevent me from trying again... You could say it was just a bad day, but the service was anything but attentive and you sat for a long time in front of empty plates and glasses... With 3 waiters and additional runners, this shouldn't happen. Eating out has become very expensive these days and in my eyes it should be something special. That used to be the case here, but today it was just money thrown out the window...

After reading many good reviews online, we made a reservation for 5 p.m. This booking was also confirmed. When we and others who also had a confirmation for 5 p.m. were standing in front of the restaurant on time, it was closed. The staff arrived shortly before 5:30 p.m. The service was quick and the food came fairly quickly. Taste ok, nothing special.

We made a reservation at short notice and were treated to a table in the wine shop. Great ambience, excellent and very attentive service. Very well prepared, fresh food, which we received after a short time. We will definitely come back!

The service was very nice and professional. The beef liver tasted very good, but it took a bit of time on the stove. My wife's salad was very tasteless and totally boring for someone who wants to eat salad as a main course. This should be urgently worked on.

We were completely satisfied with the quality and quantity (food see photo). My wife had the fillet plate and I had the village plate. The prices are a bit demanding. So far I have always met Greeks as nice people and that was confirmed again in this restaurant.

Went there spontaneously on Friday, reserved a table for 4 2 hours in advance and received it. Service staff very nice and accommodating. Starters are available from €4-12. The olive oil at the table is super tasty, you can tell the quality of the restaurant.

Went here for lunch on a Sunday. Came in, it was a yawning emptiness. We then ask whether it is open at all. This was answered in the affirmative and we were then assigned a place. Rarely have I experienced such incompetent and unfriendly service. It's a shame that no name tag is worn. You could have approached him personally. On the one hand we had to wait a really long time for the food, on the other hand the portions are so small... sorry but the price is outrageously high! The taste is rather low level... If you really want to have a good Greek meal, then you've come to the wrong place. There are two stars because one waiter was really very friendly (tall, dark blonde hair) We won't be back that quickly. What a shame!!!!

We wanted to eat here today with our toddler. It was very hot, we sat outside the restaurant. After we had been given the menus for quite a while, two people sat down at the neighboring table. After at least another 5 minutes a cellar arrived and we thought we could finally order. However, he walked past our table to the 2 others so that they could order. On the way back he walked past us again, ignored us again and ran back into the restaurant and didn't come back at first. We weren't given a glance, no brief information that he was coming to us soon, etc. We then went somewhere else. It is impossible to overlook it because there were only these two tables to the right of the restaurant exit. Too bad.

First of all: we regularly order food from the company and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, this hasn't been the case the last few times, so the following suggestions for improvement/comments: - Improve delivery punctuality. If you specify a 15-minute time window, please stick to it. Alternatively, you may be able to let us know via text message when the driver leaves your location. When ordering, I can put an exact position marker on the map as the delivery address - will the driver even see this or will the directions even be read? - Drinks were forgotten several times. - Invoice from the driver differs from the order costs + confirmation email - why? - It feels like the portion sizes are decreasing while the price remains the same. Everything is getting more expensive, no problem - but then please be transparent and increase the prices in a understandable way. If this is not the case: make sure that the delivery portions are filled consistently. Alt Hall has always been the benchmark for us when it comes to food deliveries - it would be a shame if you fell back into mediocrity!

The food was fine, the waiters were friendly and hard-working, and still a star deduction because we had to wait a long time. We asked several times and only finished eating after more than two and a half hours. But I will definitely come back!
