Zum 1. Mal in Jever - und gleich einen Treffer gelandet. Wir haben uns beraten lassen und dann natürlich "fangfrisch" gewählt. Sehr lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Tipp bzgl. Parken: nicht einmal 100m von den zahlungspflichtigen Parkplätze gibt es auch kostenlose. Wer also die paar Schritte gehen kann ...

Das ist ein sehr gutes Fischrestaurant. Sehr nettes Personal und sie haben auch einen Landei gezeigt wie man Filetiert.

Die Empfehlung war genau richtig. Sehr gutes Essen und der Service war auch super. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Die Qualität der Speisen überzeugt uns immer wieder. Insbesondere der Service der jungen Mitarbeiter und der Chefin gibt dem Kunden das Gefühl willkommen zu sein.Wir kehren hier immer wieder gerne ein. Und wieder waren wir da und konnten zwei Neue von diesem Restaurant überzeugen. Ein Lob an die Küche.

Wir waren schon öfters dort und haben Fisch gegessen. Diesmal hat es nicht für 5 Sterne gereicht. Wir werden aber trotzdem weiterhin dort essen gehen

Wir waren nach langer Zeit wieder da. Da steckt so viel Herz drin, man merkt es überall. Beim Service, beim Essen, am Ambiente...reservieren, hingehen und genießen.

Der angepriesene Edelfisch war vorwiegend Kliesche ( sehr günstiger Beifang) angebrannte Bratkartoffeln und verkochte grüne Bohnen. Keine Tischdeko ( Sets, Stoffservierten ) Völlig überzogene Preise! Wir kommen nie wieder!

War heute das erste mal da, aber definitiv nicht das letzte mal. Familiäre Freundlichkeit trifft auf Essen der Extraklasse. Preise sind absolut passend. Der Service schnell, freundlich,zuvorkommend und umsichtig aber nicht aufdringlich. Ein kleines Schmuckstück.

Es ist immer wieder ein Erlebnis, hier ist der Gast noch König, die Beratung und Empfehlungen begeistern mich immer wieder. Der Fisch superfrisch und lecker, auch der Rest sehr schmackhaft. Freue mich schon immer auf den nächsten Besuch beim Butt

Heute zum ersten Mal dort gewesen. Ein super freundlicher Empfang in einem schönen kleinen Restaurant. Das Essen war wirklich ausgezeichnet und auch reichhaltig! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Das beste Fischrestaurant in der Umgebung. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr zuvorkommend, nett und auch aufmerksam. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne her. Ich bestelle nirgendwo sonst mehr Fisch in einem Restaurant, weil ich finde, dass man den Butt nicht übertreffen kann.

Sind während unseres Urlaubs im Wangerland im Restaurant "Der Butt" zum Essen gewesen. Schon der Empfang war sehr nett, hatte vorab einen Tisch reserviert mit dem Hinweis... wir kommen mit Hund, so haben wir einen Tisch bekommen, wo unser Hund in Ruhe liegen konnte. Wir wurden, bei der Bestellung des Essens super beraten. Welcher Fisch fangfrisch sei, was es an besonderen Fischgerichten gab und auch die unterschiedlichen Beilagen wurden erwähnt. Wir haben uns für ein Gericht mit unterschiedlichen Fischarten entschieden. Als das Essen kam wurde uns angeboten, uns das Zerlegen des Fisches zu zeigen, wir haben dankend angenommen :-). Der Fisch war sehr lecker, der Kartoffelsalat und der Gurkensalat schmeckte wie bei "Muttern". Die Portionen waren reichlich und so haben wir satt und zufrieden den Heimweg angetreten.

Sehr gutes Essen und ausgesprochen freundlicher Service – auch mit einer großen Gruppe von ca. 20 Personen klappt alles reibungslos. Alles ist sehr lecker und wird zügig serviert. Seit 5 Jahren jedes Jahr am zweiten Weihnachtstag hier und es ist immer wieder super. Absolute Empfehlung!

If you enjoy fresh fish, this is the place for you. And that's still true 😉

It's hard to believe. If you want to eat fresh fish on the North Sea coast, you have to search for a long time. Many places only offer frozen fish. This restaurant is one of the few where fresh fish is served and much of the food is homemade. Very delicious and highly recommended.

A very good fish restaurant. An extremely friendly landlady and attentive service. We had reserved a table for five people. The à la carte orders were served promptly, simultaneously, and hot. The fish was freshly caught, well-prepared, and attractively presented. The ambiance is appropriate and cozy. There's plenty of space at the table. However, a table reservation is definitely recommended. Payment is possible in cash or electronically. The prices are reasonable and not overpriced. Except for a very small step near the entrance, there are no obstacles for wheelchair users or walkers. Ample parking is available behind the restaurant in a public lot. For me, as a local, "Der Butt" is number 1 in terms of "good fish restaurant" and I highly recommend it.

We spontaneously popped in late on a Saturday, and it was the best restaurant we've ever been to in all our years. Freshly caught fish, fresh daily, and a friendliness I've never experienced before. To inspire three children, who, as is typical for children, always find fault with something, is quite an achievement! Quality you can taste! I wish the place all the best in this day and age!

We visited there again on August 9, 2025, for a delicious fish meal. In previous years, it's always worked out (four stars for the food). This time, we were absolutely disappointed. The fish (redfish and pollock) was cold, mushy, and essentially inedible. The same was true of the fried potatoes, which weren't really fried potatoes (white, cold, and soggy). Because of this, we won't be visiting this restaurant again and can't recommend it in good conscience. A real shame!

This restaurant is fantastic. Great owners and great staff. The food is amazing. We'd love to come back...but you should always make a reservation here.

Here you can still find genuine, freshly caught fish. We had the fish platter for two, with sole, plaice, and scallop. And it tasted delicious. The service is attentive and humorous. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Eleven hungry men visited the restaurant. Eight of us opted for the Greetsieler Kutterplatte (Cutter Plate), each with a large salad and generous fried potatoes, served with melted butter. The fish was freshly caught and delicious. The three schnitzels with a creamy mushroom sauce were highly recommended. The service was very friendly and quick. The value for money was good. We were very satisfied and recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

Fish at its finest! We opted for the recommendation of the day, plaice fillet Finkenwerder style for two people, and we didn't regret it. We got eight plaice fillets, each with a large salad and plenty of potatoes, along with melted butter. The fish was freshly caught and delicious. The service was very friendly and quick. The value for money was right. We were very satisfied and can give it an unconditional recommendation. We will definitely be back.

The name says it all: This restaurant is called "Der Butt," which makes it clear: fish dishes dominate the menu, and if you like fish, you've come to the right place. This restaurant isn't called "Die Seezunge," but things are a bit more casual here, but that doesn't detract from the warmth of the service. The tone is a bit more North German, which I personally like a lot, but might not be for everyone. If you like fish, you're in good hands (!) at this small, somewhat hidden restaurant in Jever's city center.

Absolutely recommended, there aren't that many scenes to rate. Service is super friendly, ambience is modern but somehow rustic and appropriate. Dogs are extremely welcome and are not excluded from visiting the restaurant, which is one of the most important criteria for us. And the food simply cannot be beaten in terms of freshness and taste. If you want to eat really tasty fish, you have to go there, there is no alternative. We will be guests there very often, just like our four 🐕 🐕 🐕 🐕 (but never all at the same time), even if we have already been asked to do so by the owners because they would definitely like to get to know them all together. However, this is not organizationally feasible for us. 100 stars for this restaurant in all areas.

Yes, I can fully recommend this place. It's rare to receive such a warm welcome and hospitality. The food was very tasty and we felt completely comfortable. I would give one more star.

If you reserve a table for Easter 6 weeks in advance, then it should be possible to inform that there is a special menu with a very limited selection of dishes! We found it a shame to only find out about the limited selection when we arrived, especially since the only fish alternative was lamb (with crabs), which isn't for everyone. All in all, the food was very good, but it wasn't easy to find something suitable for some of our group.

A really great restaurant with super fresh fish. We had dinner there with 3 people. We had a fish platter once and tuna twice, all with fried potatoes, cucumber salad and crabs. Everything is very 😋 delicious. The service was very friendly and funny. We'll definitely be back!

Kutterplatte was not fresh on Christmas Day as advertised

Vor Wochen tel. einen Tisch für 2 Personen reserviert. Hat gut geklappt. Die Kellnerin kam an den Tisch unf fragte nach dem Wunschgetränk. Wir baten um die Karte, um die Getränkeauswahl sondieren zu können. Grundsätzlich finde ich es befremdlich, Platz genommen zu haben und gleich den Getränkewunsch bekannt geben zu müssen Enttäuschend war die Tatsache, dass die Speisekarte mit dem Hinweis überreicht wurde, dass 3 Gerichte nicht verfügbar wären, da am nächsten Tag die Karte auf Silvester umgestellt würde. Wertes Butt Team: Es gibt Gäste, die kommen auch nach einer Internetrecherche ins Restaurant und hätten gerne eines der aufgeführten Gerichte. Insbesondere, da die Speisekarte wohltuend klein ausfällt. Die bestellte Flasche Mineralwasser wurde zwar verschlossen an den Tisch gebracht, war aber bereits vorher geöffnet worden, da das Verschlußsiegel fehlte. Das Preisniveau des Wasser's erscheint mir für 7,90 € unangemessen hoch, da es sich um ein normales Speiserestaurant handelt. In Ostfriesland ist das Preisgefüge günstiger, als im Butt. Das Essen war okay, aber auch nicht mehr. Oder anders ausgedrückt: Es war mal besser. Zum Schluß, vielleicht gehört es nicht hierhin. Die Herrentoilette ist zwar sauber, riecht aber erbärmlich nach Urin. Der Geruch zieht leider ins Restaurant, die meisten Gäste werden es wohl nicht intensiv wahrnehmen, aber Menschen mit empfindlicher Nase leiden bedauerlich. Wir werden leider nicht wiederkommen. .

We were here with a group of 10 people. We had reserved and the tables were ready in the back of the restaurant. Very friendly welcome and also very attentive staff. The selection and explanations of the menu for “fish amateurs” were very good and understandable. The food came surprisingly quickly and everyone enjoyed it. The 38 year old (40) ???? deserves special recognition. Service, with the personal “you” we immediately felt very comfortable. She always had a good time. Keep it up..... Wir hatten für Samstag Ende November abends um 17.30 reserviert. Kaum hatten wir uns gesetzt, hielt uns die Bedienung die Karte unter die Nase und empfahl den frischen Fisch (Fischplatte 34,90). Da ich Matjes essen wollte und auch bestellte, bedauerte dies die Bedienung, und erfragte die Getränke. Kaum waren die Getränke 5 Min später angeliefert, kam auch schon das Essen. Wie die Küche das hinbekommen hat, ist mir ein Rätsel. Alle 4 Fischfilets mit Gräten sahen quasi identisch aus, in der Panade zstzlich eine halbe Handvoll Krabben und 2 Stück Zitronenschnitzel. Die Bedienung erklärte kurz was was ist, Seezunge; Scholle, 2 x Klische. Die Matjes (17,90) waren etwas lieblos auf den Teller geworfen, die Hausfrauensauce separat, in ihrer Konsistenz nicht schlüssig zu erschmecken. Geschmacklich war das Essen okay, wenn auch nicht besonders, die Präsentation der Mahlzeiten ist meiner Ansicht nach verbesserungswürdig. Was uns gestört hat, war eher der Kantinencharakter, und das man das Gefühl hatte, möglichst schnell den Platz wieder frei machen zu sollen, für die nächsten Gäste. So waren wir um 18.20 pünktlich und um knapp 80 € ärmer wieder auf der Strasse.

If you want to eat freshly caught fish, excellently prepared, in a stylish and friendly atmosphere, this is the place for you. For me it was a taste experience. This didn't just affect the fish. The fried potatoes and bacon beans were also excellent. I will definitely come back here. It is particularly worth mentioning that dogs are welcome and in summer you can also dine outside.

Excellent fish dishes in Jever! The restaurant “Der Butt” is my first recommendation for very well prepared fish in Jever. Whether with friends or family, the Butt offers a pleasant and friendly atmosphere for a wonderful evening together. Freshly caught fish, good cuisine and a great team!

We were here with four people and received a very friendly welcome. We were given the “Greetsieler Kutterplatte” recommended and it was awesome. We were totally thrilled. First there was a cucumber salad, then the fish platter with melted butter and two bowls of fried potatoes for four people. We have rarely eaten such excellent quality fish. “The Butt” is highly recommended.

We were very satisfied and I would actually have liked to give it 5 stars. But as in other reviews, I also find it a bit strange how emphatically the freshly caught fish (coincidentally the most expensive dishes) is advertised as a daily menu that is apparently permanently available. When none of our group chose this, the waitress expressed disappointment... (Why? Are the other dishes a bit inferior??) Overall, the service there is very good and friendly, but also a bit special, which certainly not everyone likes. Overall, definitely recommended, a 4 star rating hardly hurts the cut...

We were immediately recommended the freshly caught fish of the day. Otherwise frozen fish. We found €34 very expensive and split it between us. It was perfect for the two of us. Sufficient and really delicious. Service was also very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately we were turned down cold... we were there at 5:30 p.m. sharp on a Saturday, hadn't made a reservation and asked for a free table. There were two of us with a small dog. In front of the door we had already chosen a dish from the menu posted (baked potato with crabs). After my question, the waitress had to consult with her colleague. The answer then more than amazed us! We could get a table, but only if we ordered freshly caught fish. My objection that we would like to eat baked potatoes was denied. So I ask myself: Do you earn more from freshly caught fish when you have spontaneous guests? Did the dog not fit? We found this answer extremely unpleasant and unfriendly and decided against the free table. It's a shame, you don't win any customers that way.

Leider eiskalt abgeblitzt… wir waren an einem Samstag pünktlich um 17:30 Uhr vor Ort, hatten nicht reserviert und fragten nach einem freien Tisch. Wir waren zu zweit mit kleinem Hund. Vor der Tür hatten wir uns schon auf der aushängenden Karte ein Gericht ausgesucht ( Ofenkartoffel mit Krabben). Nach meiner Frage musste die Kellnerin Rücksprache mit ihrer Kollegin halten. Die Antwort dann hat uns mehr als verblüfft! Wir könnten einen Tisch bekommen, aber nur, wenn wir fangfrischen Fisch bestellen würden. Mein Einwand, dass wir gerne Ofenkartoffeln essen würden, wurde verneint. Da frage ich mich: Verdient man bei spontanen Gästen mehr am fangfrischen Fisch? Passte der Hund nicht? Wir empfanden diese Antwort als äußerst unangenehm und unfreundlich und haben auf den freien Tisch verzichtet. Schade, so gewinnt man keine Kunden.
