The food was amazing and the service sensational; everyone was very accommodating and tried very hard to fulfill our every wish! So, if we come back to Jever, Athens will be a place we'll be heading to again 😋

We come to Jever every year for work and almost always come here for dinner. We've never been disappointed. Very friendly staff and super delicious food.

Nice friendly welcome. Dog wasn't a problem. Well-stocked wine rack. The side salad finally has white beans and coleslaw again. I had the lamb fillet with rosemary potatoes. Was exactly on point. But a bit much. Thank you for the good and delicious hospitality.

When we are in Jever, there is actually only one culinary address for us: the *Restaurant Athen’s*. We've been there four times now - and each time it was like a little Greek vacation in the middle of Friesland. You could say that we are regular guests out of conviction - or as the Greeks would probably say: "phíloi tou spítiou" - friends of the house. What makes this restaurant so special is not just the excellent food, but above all the warm atmosphere. The service is consistently attentive, incredibly friendly and always in a good mood - you feel welcome before you even sit down. Families with children in particular are welcomed here with open arms. Child-friendliness is very important at Athens, and you can tell that every time you visit. The menu offers what the Greek heart desires: juicy grilled plates, tender-crispy calamari and a large selection of traditional starters that make the start of the evening an experience. And yes – there is no saving on garlic. Anyone who dines here may need a bit of distance from colleagues the next day, but that will give them an extra point on their taste bank! Garlic is not seen here as a spice, but as a declaration of love. Particularly noteworthy is the unbeatable price-performance ratio. The quality of the food is consistently high, the portions are generous and the taste is simply fantastic. No matter which dish we have tried so far, we have never been disappointed. As a little extra, there is always an ouzo on the house after the meal - a loving gesture that ends every meal well and satisfied. Conclusion: The *Restaurant Athen’s* is much more than a Greek restaurant – it is a place to feel good, enjoy and come back.

The service is very friendly and attentive. The food was tasty, but still has potential. (We would have liked the gyros to be less dry.) We were disappointed with the bread (unfortunately no flatbread.) The starter plate was our highlight.

Hello, we were on a short vacation and ate there on the first evening. Excellent service, excellent food, and fresh Jever wine. Very cozy and great atmosphere. They also served house ouzo. At the end of our vacation, we went there for the second time and were equally impressed. Great owner and staff. This makes eating on vacation simply enjoyable. Thank you so much 👍👍👍

It was a Friday evening and the restaurant wasn't even half full, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. On the menu are the usual dishes that Germans expect in a Greek restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful, although a drink was forgotten (for three people). It's a matter of taste, but I personally find it a bit irritating when the waiters wear private clothing (colorful T-shirts) and not uniform uniforms. The starter came quickly and was okay, although I assume the tzatziki was not fresh and homemade but from a purchased bulk pack. Although there wasn't much going on, we waited quite a long time for three dishes (over 30 minutes). My blackheads were happy with their main course, mine was a disaster. I ordered Greek pasta with lamb "from the oven". I received a dish that was clearly mixed together in a pot. My deep plate was almost overflowing with a somewhat indefinable, almost unseasoned rice-cream-tomato (?) mush, in which a few pieces of meat were floating, and everything was almost cold. The meat was basically okay. I know the dish completely differently, and I expect it to be piping hot straight from the oven in an appropriate casserole dish. I wouldn't go there again.

We felt very comfortable and everything from ordering to payment went very quickly. The hosts are very friendly. The garlic bread is amazing 😋. The main courses were also very good and plentiful. Thanks for the ice-cold ouzo at the end/farewell. We'd love to come back.

My absolute favorite restaurant.

Service good, food really not edible. Gyros plate more fat than meat, pork fillet menu 4 large nuggets as fillet for a good 20 euros with a really disgusting garlic sauce. Rice a ball, really outrageous. The menu says Cola and you get Pepsi. Unfortunately once and never again. Sorry

Hello, we were here for the first time. We were immediately welcomed in a very friendly manner. The service and the boss were very friendly. At the beginning there was a free ouzo. The food came quickly and the portions were plentiful. The food tasted very good and was very fresh. Every now and then someone came and asked if everything was OK and we were offered an ouzo. All I can say is that it was a great evening and we will definitely come back and can only recommend the restaurant. Thanks

Even though we hadn't made a reservation, we still got a table on Friday evening for two, but it was limited to 1.5 hours. But that wasn't a problem at all because the food was there after just 15 minutes. Beforehand there was a free ouzo from the very nice innkeeper. Then the salad plate came with very tasty coleslaw. Then the grill plate with gyros, bifteki and souflaki skewers. The gyro was well seasoned and juicy. The bifteki was super tasty and the skewer had small pieces of meat. But they were pretty tender. I had fries just right with it. The tzatziki had a nice consistency and tasted good to me, with lots of garlic. All grill plates were under €20 and the portions are plentiful. Also worth mentioning is the large selection of Greek wines. The toilets were clean. The staff was attentive but not intrusive. At the end the innkeeper brought a free ouzo and asked if it was tasty. If we lived nearby, we would become regulars! Highly recommended!

Yesterday I had dinner here with my friend, who comes from Jever and recommended the restaurant to me. Rarely have I had such a good gyro!!!! Price performance really top. Service absolutely top with Nordic friendliness :) And really delicious food. From the bread plate to the gyros, everything tasted delicious. Ambiance? a touch of holiday feeling... :) I can only recommend you. Certainly not the last visit when I'm in Jever ;-)

Good morning. I was always very impressed with this Greek but last time I was very disappointed. I ordered a calamari gyros plate. There was so little on my plate that I ate it again at home in the evening. There were also three or four small pieces of calamari on the plate that were not fried (unmarinated) as usual and they tasted fishy. Everything else remained, only there was the feeling of an austerity measure. Maybe the last time I ate there! Sorry but 100% realistic.

Apparently the reservation via Google doesn't work despite confirmation. The portions are large and filling. The food tastes good. Unfortunately our starter was forgotten. The service leaves a lot to be desired, the service staff are nice, but: they don't ask if everything is OK, the clearing up doesn't work at all, even though service staff walk past the table, there are no reorders for drinks because you don't ask becomes.

Absolutely cannot recommend this Greek. Ordered something to pick up. Ordering went quite quickly, waiting time was around 20 minutes. When we get home we get a surprise: the dish “Suvlaki” for €15.90 is an absolute joke! They were tiny little pieces of meat! I feel ripped off! Never again the Athens restaurant!

We had a very cozy dinner here. There was plenty, changes were taken into account, and the preparation time was totally ok. It was very delicious. The service was very nice and friendly. The restaurant is small but very cozy and clean. Anyone looking for good Greek cuisine is in good hands here.

I've been there several times. Out for dinner with a friend yesterday. Service was very friendly. A dish with Metaxa sauce was put together especially for us. This was particularly delicious. We also really enjoyed the tomato soup beforehand. In terms of portions, we have nothing to complain about. There was also plenty of ouzo. When it got colder I got some black tea. It was a very beautiful evening.

You arrive and feel comfortable. Welcome ouzo is immediately at your place. Service and boss attentive and quick and concerned about the well-being of the guests. Food 1A delicious and more than normal eaters need to fill up. All in all a successful visit. And at the end there is a come-back ouzo. We will be back.

We were there last night. After a few months we finally went to Jever again for a Greek meal. Everything was basically perfect: we were warmly welcomed, taken to the table we had pre-ordered, and the first round of ouzo arrived quickly. The time it took to order drinks and food was also quick. The taste of the food was perfect. However, the portions are not very large. Guests sitting right next to us had similar complaints. I think that for a gyro plate that costs almost 20 euros, you can expect a little more meat and fries!

Upon request, we had grilled vegetables for the main course. After the meal, we were able to enjoy our drink outside in the evening sun. We were completely satisfied.

Today we went to our favorite Greek restaurant again. Very good food, good drinks and an always warm welcome round off the visit every time. I absolutely recommend the chtipiti (spicy sheep's cheese cream with fresh bread) and the bean salad with the meat dishes. The gyro is also highly recommended!
