We were there as a couple on November 10, 2025, and were completely satisfied.

Simply wow. Super friendly staff, delicious food, and a completely relaxed atmosphere. The rump steak is highly recommended; I've never had such a perfect one as here. You have to try it.

We've been having our final dinner here at Delikato for almost 10 years. Whenever we're on vacation here in Dangast, whether we're eating here as a family or with other family members, we're always thrilled with the food and the great selection, as we choose a different dish each time, and we've never been disappointed. The price/performance ratio is fantastic, and every dish comes with a salad from the salad bar, where you can create your own. And the staff is always friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend it and keep coming back.

Delicious and plentiful! Very friendly atmosphere and service. Highly recommended! Attached is a photo of the skewered platter for two... enough for a takeaway! I've been back again, everything was good, but unfortunately I didn't like the gyros. Nice touches like little pastry rolls as an aperitif and ice cream for dessert. There's a beautiful display of flowers outside; it's worth sitting there in nice weather. Even though it was raining, the restaurant was very crowded and noisy. Very friendly service!

Spontaneously, with absolutely no expectations, we stopped by Delikato one evening. We received a friendly welcome and started with a homemade appetizer. The salad buffet was very appetizing. The main course was also delicious, and afterward, we were treated to a beautifully presented scoop of ice cream and a glass of ouzo on the house :) We'd be happy to return... highly recommended. Whenever we're at the caravan, we absolutely have to eat here. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. And the flowers in summer are so beautiful.

A beautiful summer terrace, very floral and colorful. It's inviting and invites you to linger. The older, Turkish waiter was very friendly and accommodating. My dog, who likes to bark, was also given a very friendly welcome. He even brought her some water. The food is excellent, a real treat. The portions are generous and plentiful. There was a little surprise with the starter and dessert that delighted and surprised us, but was received very positively and warmly. It was simply delicious. Highly recommended, and we'd love to come back.

The food is really delicious, but sometimes the ingredients listed on the menu don't match what you actually get at the table. Also, be careful – there's a difference between the price on the menu and the bill!

We spontaneously stopped here one afternoon after shopping on vacation. We received a very warm welcome; the outdoor area is lovely and offers plenty of seating. The interior is also pleasant, and here you'll find the salad buffet, very clean restrooms, and a bar. The menu is extensive; there are highchairs and a changing table. We, and especially the children, received very warm service; the food arrived quickly and was very, very tasty! You can tell that the restaurant is family-run. The outdoor area is right next to the carillon and puppet show at the Hespe jeweler's house. This also contributes to a special dining experience. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is a must-visit! We happened upon it on our way from Wilhelmshaven and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, the service excellent, and there were even a few little surprises! We'll be back!

A truly fantastic restaurant! We ate there four years ago and loved it so much that we decided to vacation near Varel just to visit Delikato again. The food was once again incredibly delicious, the selection was huge, and the owner was very warm and attentive. We were thoroughly pampered and once again felt completely at home. During our vacation in Varel we (2 adults, 3 children, 12 and 13 years old) ate there twice. Nice, cozy, stylish restaurant. Very nice staff, absolutely family friendly. Great selection of Mediterranean dishes. (Mostly Turkish/Greek specialties) Fantastic salad bar. Everything is fresh there and there is much more than just green lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and coleslaw. We particularly liked the bulgur salad, the bean salads, beetroot, dolmades, giant beans in tomato sauce (jack beans), the homemade pasta salad with feta, simply top! Whether Greek (Gyros) or Turkish (Kebab), skewers, veal. Lamb, kofta or bifteki, grilled or baked, or classic schnitzel, you can get it all here and in very good quality. The plates are lovingly prepared and the food is very tasty. The portions don't seem huge at first glance, but they are really enough. You will definitely get full here. All sauces are handmade, nothing from a bucket or a tetra pack and you can taste it. We have rarely been treated so well. Salad in advance from the salad bar, starter stuffed börek with dip (as a welcome from the house) main course, as a service from the house after the meal an ice cream for everyone and at the end a nightcap on the house. “HOSPITALITY” is really important here. An absolute tip from us. The prices are absolutely reasonable, based on quality and craftsmanship. We will definitely eat there again when we are back in Varel. Thank you for the great hospitality!!!

Food always tastes good, service is quick and extremely friendly. Like staying with friends. Salad buffet very rich, portions always enough to fill you up. The garlic bomb tastes unique, you can't get enough of it :)

If we are in the area, we come from Petersfehn, we definitely have to eat there. We have never seen such a great restaurant. The food there is of the very best quality and fresh. You are warmly welcomed and entertained, as if you were part of the family. We can highly recommend this restaurant. But leave a table free for four people with a dog, lol.

We were absolutely thrilled with the food there. The service was super friendly, the food was incredibly delicious, and we really enjoyed the ambiance. I can therefore definitely recommend this restaurant. We'd be happy to go back... I also highly recommend it for lunch; we love it there. The people are incredibly friendly and accommodating, something you rarely experience in a restaurant these days. It's always a pleasure to eat there.

We celebrated my father’s 85th birthday at “DELIKATO”. The nice restaurant team gave us an unforgettable evening!!! The table was beautifully decorated for us, everything was prepared in a very festive way. We were pampered and looked after by the entire team, and there was also a birthday surprise for dessert. The food was plentiful, very freshly prepared and delicious. All guests were extremely satisfied. Thank you for the warm welcome, hospitality and good food. Hopefully we'll come back soon!

We were there spontaneously yesterday with four people and we received a very friendly welcome, even though it was full, we were offered a table. We were very satisfied. The food was very, very tasty. Unfortunately, the furnishings are a bit old, but the food is 1A

I had gyros, and unfortunately it was very hard and quite greasy. My husband had a chicken strip pizza where he had to look for the chicken meat and he still had to burp a lot from it. The service was very nice and attentive.

We celebrated my husband's birthday there this evening (like last year) and it was another very nice evening with really delicious food!!! The starters (including a large salad bar) are really a dream! The boss, but also all the employees of course, are super nice and make you feel comfortable!:) There was also a very special big birthday surprise for my husband in the form of a large dessert plate :)! Really recommendable everything overall and we are already looking forward to the next time :)

We celebrated my father's 80th birthday there. The table was beautiful and lovingly decorated. The food is super tasty and rich! The team is very friendly, attentive and warm. At the end there was a great surprise (ice cream, fruit decorated with sparklers) It was a perfect evening!!! I can highly recommend it. Always my pleasure!!!

We were warmly welcomed and the staff are quick and attentive. There is a large salad buffet where everyone can put together their own salad. I found it very good. The house provided a starter plate (warm rolls of dough with dip and garnished with cucumber and carrot). The food came quickly, it was very warm to hot (which I like very much) and tasted delicious. The portion was sufficient. Afterwards there was also dessert from the house (a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce) and, if desired, a masala or uso. We had a lovely evening. A table reservation makes sense. There is also an outdoor terrace for the summer. The restaurant is at the beginning of the pedestrian zone, and there are enough parking spaces nearby.

Never again ! The pasta dish was completely tasteless! The bifteki was very small and thin and the feta cheese was probably scraped onto it! The rice was cold and our cautious opinion about the food was accepted without emotion! We won't eat there again!!

Highly recommended! The boss (?!) is very accommodating and absolutely friendly. The food tastes delicious and you are served quickly, you are attentively asked if everything is OK, etc. We are very happy to come back!!

We always come here when we are in Varel (we come from NRW). Price performance is more than good. Nice staff. The guests are properly looked after. We are always satisfied. The best thing is the salad bar, so you can choose everything yourself. A snack is always provided from home ❤️ I personally cannot understand some of the negative reviews.

Meiner Meinung nach der beste Grieche in Varel. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Das Gyros ist zart die Usos schmecken und im Sommer kann man schön im Innenhof sitzen.

Super nice staff. Super tasty food at reasonable prices. My partner and I ordered a platter for two people (136 see picture). The taste is simply great and the price is absolutely right. It's nice to sit outside even when it's raining.

We were there once in the fall and consciously decided to go to the restaurant again because of the positive impression. Again we received extremely delicious menus, the salad was also very good 👍🏻. We also had some of the food packed and taken away. Was eaten later in the apartment :-) . The service was again very friendly and the ambience, this time outside, was very nice with lots of planted flower pots. We would love to come back again if we are in Varel for a longer period 👍🏻😊

Nice but a lot of confusion, 3 out of 4 dishes weren't right or not good, our table was too small despite a reservation. Everything needs to be improved here. For two dishes, extras were requested that were not implemented, such as no onions. One dish was completely wrong. But the person didn't dare say anything and was hungry because we had to wait so long. So 3 out of 4 dishes were wrong. We didn't like the quality that much either and one of us had construction pains.

Two stars because of the nice ambience outside, but that's about it. Salad from the buffet was old, dried out but sometimes also very mushy. Dressing had a sting, no cooling despite the temperature. Schnitzel didn't taste like anything, we hadn't experienced it yet...we came on a recommendation, well, that was probably nothing. :(

Had a plate for two. Didn't want rice, just fries. There was rice on the plate. Some of the fries were fried for too long. The gyro was nothing, the rest of the meat was fine. The zucchini was also fried and tasted like old oil. The best is the salt buffet. For dessert we were simply given ice cream without asking. I expected more from the reviews. Were very disappointed. I can't recommend it more.
