Absolute heart recommendation! We went for brunch on Sunday, the food was consistently very good, and the service was very friendly and attentive across the board. Thank you for a wonderful day that we could just enjoy!

We were really excited to try Das Midgardhaus Augustiner am See, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. We ordered the schnitzel, veal cheek, and beef tartare. Sadly, the food was tasteless and cold. The schnitzel wasn’t crispy at all – instead, it was soggy and disappointing. The veal cheek was okay, but nothing special. The beef tartare was the biggest letdown, leaving an unpleasant taste in our mouths. Overall, a disappointing dining experience.

Just always nice when you want something special, with a view of the lake, perfect service and really fine things. 👍🏼😊

We went to Midgardhaus for brunch on January 1st, 2025 and had booked the New Year's brunch. We - two couples with small babies (5 and 6 months). The food was very varied, there were several really tasty courses, each consisting of different dishes, starting from the classic breakfast with rolls, cheese, sausage, truffled scrambled eggs, delicious fish, meat, juicy and very good fruits and various sweets. There was also very good coffee and alcoholic drinks (champagne, wine), which we didn't enjoy. It was an excellent experience all around - from the welcome from the boss and the employees, to the atmosphere in the room from all the guests (a mixed but very friendly fellow guests). The babies also behaved in an exemplary manner. Unreserved recommendation, a great experience for us. We'll definitely be back. And thank you very much to the whole team!

Das Personal hat zu wenig dt-Kenntnisse für dieses Restaurantniveau. Es kann zudem keine Gastbeziehung aufbauen. Das Essen war Note -3 für uns, wenig gewürzt, viel zu teuer für diese " Kochkünste"!! Keine klare Richtung im Geschmack, nur einfach mainstream...LEIDER! Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Wie immer war es ein sehr schöner Abend mit gutem Essen und hervorragendem, super-freundlichem und professionellem Service. Und auch wenn die Ente nicht so gut war, wurde auf die konstruktive Kritik eingegangen und ich werde es mit der Ente beim nächsten Mal wieder probieren. 

For the second time in the Midgardstad'l for the offer on Saturday 1/2 chicken + potato salad for €10.90 as announced on the homepage and on the main street in Tutzing as a poster. Apparently purely fake offer! Nothing was offered apart from spare ribs (probably from the day before) and spinach dumplings. Augustiner on tap was good as always, as were the pretzels, which were fresh.

Ein wirklich schönes Ambiente und sehr nette Bedienung. Leider aber ein mangelhaftes, verbesserungswürdiges Essen. Wir hatten unter anderem Wildgarnelen auf Salat, Filetsteak und Mediterranes Gemüse. Die Wildgarnelen waren sehr verkocht, das Steak durchgebraten, bestellt hatten wir Medium rare, und das Gemüse schmeckte nur nach Öl. Schade für das Personal, das sein Bestes gab.

Absolute Spitzenklasse! Wie immer ein sehr schönes Erlebnis, sowohl vom Ambiente her, als auch von den Speisen und Getränken.

Update December 24 Brunch: €89 per person, sitting inside, let's try something new. So overall it's nice inside, but not really nice. The view of the lake is always great. But unfortunately it was extremely loud in the room. The drinks, from cappucino to white wine, tea etc. delicious. The food ok. But given the high price, you expect something better than baked rolls, run-of-the-mill salmon, duck pieces on bland noodles. Ready-made creams. The service was quick and fresh at the beginning, but decreased as the time went on. So we had to be really annoyed at the end. UPDATE March 24: Sunday afternoon, nice weather, the bear is loose. You are usually checked in and “served” by a child (approx. 12 years old) on the partially seated terrace. The in-house dogs sit right next to the table and constantly bother you. "We don't have cake anyway" when you ask, you are harshly brushed off. What happened to you guys? Cappuccino cold. Prosecco lukewarm. June 23: Tuesday evening, we were on the terrace. Beautiful, service friendly and fast. Food sensational. Whitefish, lamb, tartare, roast beef, Kaiserschmarrn. The price is completely ok. Just great. September 22: The two of us went to Sunday brunch. The Midgardhaus proves that a fantastic location does not automatically mean bad food and/or lousy service. Everything was just wonderful. The view, the young, friendly service, relaxed and quick, the food and the drinks. The place is nice anyway. This is all absolutely worth the price. Sensational! Thanks for the nice day!

Das Ambiente hat für unsere Gäste wunderbar gepasst. Speziell die runden Tische und die Stühle mit Hussen werteten den Raum auf. Die Küche hat ihr Bestes gegeben, alle Gäste waren begeistert. Das Servicepersonal hat optimal gearbeitet. Die Gäste wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend behandelt. Die Leitung des Restaurants hat die Vor- und Nachbereitung der Feier zuvorkommend unterstützt. Gerne werden wir zukünftige Feste wieder im Midgardhaus/Midgardstadl veranstalten.

Simply great! There are great entertainment programs!

I came here for the first time as part of a five-course meal accompanied by wine. There were three of us and we were looked after excellently. Discreet, attentive service and excellent dishes on the menu made it worth going there. The creative cuisine (see pictures of the dishes) invites you to visit again. We were there in the evening, so we couldn't get a picture of the exterior of the property. It's very comfortable inside and not too cramped. The sanitary facilities should be highlighted, very well maintained and cleaned, even later in the evening. And: there are fabric towels - very environmentally friendly in terms of waste prevention. Praise also comes with criticism. For a fairly high-priced restaurant, a decent coffee machine should be purchased for preparation. An espresso doppio from a fully automatic machine is not an option for me, sorry. And I don't really enjoy paying just under 10 euros for a bottle of regional mineral water either. But I knew this price beforehand and am therefore responsible for my pain. All in all: a visit is definitely worth it.

Since it reopened, I have been going to the Midgardhaus in all seasons and have been impressed in every way from the first moment. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The ambience and setting is hard to beat in every respect. Friends stayed there overnight in September 24 and also praised the restaurateur, Alexander, highly. What could be nicer than sitting in a beautiful place in beautiful weather and enjoying the view of Lake Starnberg? Add good food and excellent service and the day is perfect. We were here with my mother-in-law, who has severe walking difficulties. We hadn't found a parking space nearby and asked one of the staff. What a great reaction. And our biggest problem with such popular places was solved. Thank you again for that. We immediately felt at home. Unfortunately we ate way too much ;-) but it was just so delicious. Of course, a good wine also had to be included. I want to get rid of something for the price. Yes, it is expensive. But I have such a wonderful ambience and great quality of raw materials and food, combined with very discreetly attentive and extremely friendly employees. And yes, it's just something special and not "I'll quickly go around the corner to eat". Congratulations to the owner on such great employees, who, in addition to all the ambience and enjoyment, make a stay special.

Kurzfristig und per Handy 20 Minuten vorab einen Tisch zum Abendessen bestellt . Komplett unkompliziert . Die Küche weiß was Sie tut und kann auf auf „Herausforderungen“ innerhalb der Gerichte reagieren , bei bestehenden Allergien / Unverträglichkeiten . Dies wird über einen kompetenten Service als Bindeglied perfekt gewährleistet 👍 Eine sehr ansprechend ,grundsolide zusammengesetzte Speisekarte begleitet von einer ansprechenden Weinkarte. We were sitting outside. Unfortunately our puppy barked under the table and the waiter responded in a very bad mood that he would “kick the dog if he did it again”. We immediately apologized and said we were very sorry that our dog scared him, but the waiter's response was very inappropriate and rude. They should not accept dogs if they are not comfortable with them. We did not feel well for the rest of the meal. The restaurant is nice, but we think they should treat their customers more politely.

We were here again on August 31, 2024 because we were so excited about it 1 year ago. This year we were lucky and the sun shone. We got a fantastic seat in the front row with a view of the lake. As was typical of last year, we were immediately asked if we would like to drink water. However, we learned something new and didn't say yes straight away, because water no longer costs 8.90 euros but rather an impressive 9.90 euros. Are you crazy? A half liter of beer costs 4.80 euros. So what do you drink? The veal schnitzel costs an impressive 5.00 euros (33.90 euros) more and the roast beef costs 3.00 (24.90 euros) more. We couldn't find the service that we previously praised so much that day. We were very disappointed and won't be coming back. Our last criticism was also not taken seriously at all, even though we were given the feeling that it was. Too bad. 5 stars awarded: On a rainy August 6th, 2023 we were in this beautiful restaurant. The service was warm, open-minded, funny... simply excellent (incredibly difficult to find such staff these days... how do you do that? ☺️) The food was a dream, see pictures. The only point of criticism is the water in the 0.75 liter bottle for 8.90 euros. Is that necessary?

Herrliche Lage mit Blick auf den Starnberger See. Ambiente sehr ansprechend. Bedienung freundlich, obwohl sie unseren Gutschein nicht richtig verrechnet hat. Speisen nicht überragend. Meeresfrüchte-Ceviche war mir zu essigsauer. Cocktail verhältnismäßig teuer gemessen am Inhalt (z.B. Negroni 14,90 EUR) Man zahlt den verhältnismäßig hohen Preis eher für die exponierte Lage.

Honestly, I was very disappointed... Briefly about the positive, the place, the location was a dream, but that was it. It started with the chaotic parking, which I was lucky enough to solve. The place on the lakeside terrace was still ok, even though I was placed on the edge and not under the parasols and I had reserved...which I had to do by email because the booking system wouldn't accept me because I only was a person, which I also found strange. Now the service, my waiter spoke German poorly, which was extremely annoying. The supervisor had to come twice because the waiter didn't understand what I wanted. Then I wanted a gin and tonic. The waiter didn't know what kind of flavors were on offer, nor did he know the tonic. Cleared up in this respect, there was only one type of each, which I find more than poor considering the prices and the demands of the restaurant... every self-respecting restaurant offers more choice. I then had a Lugana, which cost an impressive 13.80 for the quantity of 0.2. I then had a starter, gratinated goat cheese with lamb's lettuce. It was there so quickly, within five minutes, that I don't believe it was all fresh. The whole arrangement was so carelessly arranged that I didn't even take a picture of it... The taste was ok, but it didn't blow me away either. I canceled a main course because I didn't feel like it. Finally I had an Espresso Afogato, which cost just under nine euros. I would like to make it clear that I am aware that I was at Lake Starnberg and that the prices are higher there, I have no problem with that, but then the service and food have to be good, I get average in every snack bar, but I'm tight Spent 80 euros. The evening was a failure, never again.

Wunderschönes und wunderschön gelegenes Restaurant mit Tradition. Geschmackvoll und wertig eingerichtet; passend zu dem Ambiente. Das Essen war hervorragend. Die Bouillabaisse ein Gedicht; dies mit Blick auf den See noch eins schöner. Gute und pfiffige Weinkarte. Und vor allem: Ein herzlicher, aufmerksamer und geschulter Service. Auch in gehobener Gastronomie heute nicht mehr selbstverständlich. Bayerische Herzlichkeit & Esprit. Chapeau!

Yesterday I tried chanterelle soup. Magical, unlike anything else! And the service is excellent, the waiters are very friendly and accommodating. Together with the beautiful view and the tranquility of the lake, I had great fun.

Truly a fantastic venue for a wedding. Many places to gather. The cocktail bar by the lake, the private dinner room, the dance floor. All was quite magical.

On Tuesday we were back at Midgarthaus after a long time. As always, the ambience is unbeatable - view over the lake to the mountains 😍. Unfortunately, what we can no longer understand are the prices! A bottle of water for €9.90 and the wine a factor of almost 5 times the normal price - sorry, that's just too much 😳. The food is of a good standard, but the prices there are also far removed from reality. A sliced ​​kohlrabi with some dressing for €23.90 - wow! It's a shame, we won't be coming back and will now enjoy the lake view from somewhere else.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying Sunday brunch at Restaurant Midgardhaus and I loved it! The nine courses are like a little culinary journey, super tasty :-) The service is totally attentive and friendly. Another highlight is the fantastic location right on the lake. Sit on the terrace, enjoy the view and unwind… what more could you want. Highly recommend 👌🏼 Kudos to the entire team – you’re doing a great job!

We even had live Bavarian music. + Good food (we had Steckerlfisch, pretzels and cake) - Far too few parking spaces, resulting in chaotic and very narrow parking, so that you can hardly get past oncoming cars. - Some of the staff are completely incompetent (can't tell the difference between an apricot cheesecake and a Rabarb cake).

Die Lage ist sehr schön direkt am See. Die Karte liest sich grundlegend gut. Die Vorspeisen waren auch gut, die Hauptgänge bei allen leider in keinster Weise dem Preis entsprechend. Dies gilt auch für den eher nicht vorhandenen service. Wir hatten einen besonderen Anlass zu feiern und haben uns für den Betrag den wir bezahlt haben wesentlich mehr versprochen. Sehr schade.

Das Ambiente des Midgardhaus ist bezaubernd – ein idealer Ort für ein romantisches Fest. Die liebevolle Dekoration und die wunderschöne Lage tragen zu einer unvergleichlichen Atmosphäre bei. Das Essen war absolut herausragend. Jedes Gericht war nicht nur köstlich, sondern auch kunstvoll angerichtet. Unsere Gäste schwärmen noch heute von den exquisiten Speisen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der freundliche und aufmerksame Service. Das Team des Midgardhaus hat dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns rundum wohl und bestens betreut fühlten. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Flexibilität und das Engagement des Personals. Unsere Wünsche wurden nicht nur berücksichtigt, sondern mit großem Enthusiasmus umgesetzt. Diese Hingabe machte unseren besonderen Tag zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Wir können das Midgardhaus Tutzing jedem, der eine Feier plant oder einfach nur exzellentes Essen in einer wunderschönen Umgebung genießen möchte, wärmstens empfehlen. Von dem Moment an, als ich das Restaurant betrat, bis zum letzten Bissen meines köstlichen Desserts, war Korbi stets aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell. Korbi hat ein besonderes Talent dafür, Gäste willkommen zu heißen und ihnen das Gefühl zu geben, etwas ganz Besonderes zu sein. Seine Empfehlungen waren treffsicher und haben meinen Tag kulinarisch bereichert. Jede Frage zu den Gerichten und Weinen konnte er mit beeindruckender Sachkenntnis beantworten. Was Korbi wirklich auszeichnet, ist seine Fähigkeit, auf individuelle Wünsche einzugehen und sicherzustellen, dass jeder Besuch perfekt verläuft. Seine charmante Art und sein strahlendes Lächeln machen ihn zu einem wahren Juwel des Midgardhauses. Dank ihm habe ich nicht nur ein exquisites Essen, sondern auch einen exzellenten Service genossen, der meine Erwartungen bei weitem übertroffen hat.
