The innkeeper is truly unique and very entertaining. The beer tastes delicious and our food was excellent. We can highly recommend the roast beef and the steamed beer goulash.

Super tasty food, even for vegetarians, often with parmesan, but you can cancel it. The ambience is of course a matter of opinion, definitely rustic. The owner is of course a brand in himself, you have to like him, I think he's great! The employees are okay, people often ask questions, but they often seem annoyed and don't really fit in as far as their type is concerned.

Great little quaint restaurant with very good service and the food is 'suguat'. You can't describe it better.

We spent three days in Bavaria and had dinner there twice. Everything was perfect, food, ambience and service and especially the boss, who sometimes served and sometimes cooked himself. I had the pleasure of eating deer twice. The second time the boss just created a new sauce for the deer, chocolate/chilli, it was the best deer I've ever eaten. The cheese spaetzle and the pork fillet are also highly recommended. It's a shame that we live so far away, we come from North Rhine-Westphalia, otherwise we would come back at any time.

Delicious! The food was just awesome! From the liver dumpling soup to the side salad with the stuffed porcini mushroom ravioli, or the crusty roast, to the steam beer goulash! Super! And the landlord is also a great guy and always up for a joke!

We have been coming to the Bavarian Forest for years and a visit to the Dampfbräu is always part of it. The food is more than delicious and the host and his “sweetheart” are authentic hosts. We'll definitely be back!!!

I was really blown away by the ravioli with parmesan sauce and the salad with roast pork was just really good. As we say. I was already preparing to complain and I was quiet. We have been to the Dampfbräu in Zwiesel many times. Most recently on September 13th and 14th, 2024. Food and service are always very good. I had Bavarian forest mushroom once and then the crusted brisket. Each one is a pleasure. It's a shame that mothers whose children are almost whiny throughout their stay then claim in a review that children's laughter is not welcome. (@Leonie Rau) had nothing to do with children's laughter. We sat at the back of the restaurant and heard everything. I can only recommend the Dampfbräu with its communicative, honest host.

A wonderfully rustic restaurant in which the unique Bavarian innkeeper serves himself and has the right information or saying for everyone. Even Low German flies in your face after a hearty morning 😁 We felt very comfortable and welcome there and the advertised, freshly prepared roast pork was better than sauguad! The ravioli with mushroom filling also tasted excellent. Well-seasoned sauce, homemade dumplings, heavenly crispy crust from the otherwise juicy and tender meat... what more could you want? Our conclusion: very happy again!

Unfortunately not recommended with smaller children! When they came in, the two of them were immediately instructed to be quiet and the whole time they were looked at evilly as children laughed. When we left, a "I'll be glad when you're gone again" didn't make things any better. It's a real shame, because I really enjoyed it and the landlord was very nice to us adults.

It wasn't my taste. Cheese spaetzle is way too greasy without fried onions.

I chose cream mushrooms with bread dumplings, a great choice. The service was really friendly, the Kaiserschmarrn also tasted good.

Super great restaurant, the boss serves himself. Very funny and on the ball. Put my heart and soul into it. I ate the best cheese spaetzle of my life here. Homemade, with lots of cheese, and fried until crispy with butter. To melt in. Fry and other dishes looked great. Large portions, at good prices. Will definitely come back when we vacation.

Sauguades hearty food. We had crusted roast, liver dumpling soup and salad, everything was great. We'll definitely go there again, just because of the crusty roast. Nice boss.

This is exactly how an economy and an innkeeper in the Bavarian Forest should be! The food is outstanding and the portions are large. Absolutely recommended 👌🏼

Food was really good. The innkeeper has his own kind of humor but if you don't go into the cellar to laugh, you can laugh heartily at his jokes. He has his restaurant well under control and we felt very comfortable. We can fully recommend the Dampfbräu.

Little Bavarian. Tavern on the town square. The landlord has his own sense of humor that takes some getting used to, but is friendly. A manageable menu with classic local dishes. We chose the steam beer goulash and a salad plate with salmon. The goulash was fantastic. The meat is soft but firm to the bite, the sauce is creamy and has an excellent taste that cannot be described. Plus two bread dumplings and, in my case, a well-tempered dark steam beer. Heart, what more do you want. The salad was mixed, plenty large with steamed salmon that wasn't dry. We didn't particularly like the atmosphere in the restaurant so we ate outside. If you want to eat a perfect goulash, you can't miss this restaurant when visiting Zwiesel. The kitchen is absolutely recommended!!!

We were here for the first time in 1996 and nothing has changed (for the worse) since then! The nice host, the “sauguade” food, the quick and great service and the funny sayings! Definitely the best restaurant in the region. If you want to experience authentic cuisine, friendly service and a unique host, you should eat here. We vacation in the region every now and then and the Dampfbräu is a must visit every time!

Rustic Bavarian restaurant with its original innkeeper We all had an excellent meal - everything was fresh and there was no sauce - here they still cook properly and serve it in an appealing way Staff very friendly and attentive, definitely recommended

The visit to Dampfbräu was last summer. The owner was rude, disrespectful and his comments were inappropriate. The food wasn't anything special and he himself described the dishes as "tourist platters". Just because we speak standard German doesn't mean we come from far away. He rubbed it under our noses over and over again, which of course ruined our appetite all the more. Good advice: focus less on appearances and dialect.

Unfortunately it was closed. But the entrance looks inviting.

Delicious food, down-to-earth prices, very nice and courteous staff, great chef! Cheese spaetzle was a huge portion.

Food was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was more than okay. The dark steam beer is very, very good. The service is no reason to complain, very friendly and quick.

We arrived a little late... there wasn't a problem, but it wasn't all that much better. Wuidsau, cordon bleu and steam beer were excellent. Get well soon with your knee and see you next time.

A small restaurant in the heart of Zwiesel. We only book our hotel with breakfast because we always go to Dampfbräu for dinner. The food is great! The landlord always tries out unusual things/combinations/recipes that you should definitely try. The sauces are delicious, creamy and there is no skimping on them. It really is a small, quaint Bavarian inn. We like it and will come here again and again.

The crusty roast was incredibly tasty and freshly prepared, and the sauce wasn't just a packet sauce either. The landlord and the staff were very nice. Can only recommend others.

For me, the Danpfbräu is a part of every visit to Zwiesel. Traditional Bavarian cuisine and local beer - this is how owner Walter Pahl presents his homeland perfectly. The highlight (if still available) is definitely his roast pork with a delicious sauce. A reservation is recommended in any case. I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

Vacation in Zwiesel - at least one meal at Dampfbräu is a must. Delicious, regional dishes in local 😉 portions and local beer. Six of us ate at Dampfbräu today. The host is absolutely first class. Super friendly and lots of nice jokes. The food was super tasty. Special requests were taken into account and fully implemented. We were thrilled and will be back!

According to Google, open today (12/21/23). Filtered specifically for restaurants that are “open now”. So we packed our things and set off despite heavy rain and storms. The doors are then locked on site with a note saying that until December 25th. closed is. Could you let Google know if you're already advertising on Google?

A host with passion. We had so much fun in the restaurant and the roast pork is sensational. The salad dressing was also amazing. Everything fresh and homemade. Price performance great. We'd love to come back. The host is really unique😁

A small restaurant and good Bavarian cuisine. The portions were large and the prices are also reasonable. But the space is pretty tight. Especially when the guests and waiters walk on the path at the same time because there is only one sidewalk. And if you get the table at the back, you're sitting next to the toilet. But not everyone likes it...

Fantastic country inn serving both traditional Bavarian and innovative fusion cousine. Fingerlicking good! The proprietor and the serving staff are friendly, warm, and welcoming. The place is very busy, make a reservation if you don’t want to miss out.

Hier gibt es hervorragendes bayerisches Essen in gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Mein Lieblingsessen: Das Gulasch.

Kleines Wirtshaus mit bayrischem Charme und Charakter. Hier wird das Schnitzel noch selbst geklopft und kommt nicht aus dem Tiefkühler! Der Gastwirt ist immer zu Späßen aufgelegt und unterhält gerne seine Gäste. Zudem verrät er auch Betriebsgeheimnisse, z.B. das Rezept der Käsespätzle😋.

Für mich DAS BAYRISCHE RESTAURANT schlechthin. Kleines Wirtshaus mit riesigem Herz! Man wird sehr freundlich begrüßt und die Bedienung hat immer einen Tip für Essen und Getränke auf Lager. Der Koch ist gleichzeitig der Chef und macht die Speisen mit Leidenschaft was man schmeckt! Zusätzlich ist er ein kleiner Spaßvogel was dem Ganzen für mich es umso wertvoller macht. Wer in Zwiesel ist MUSS ins Dampfbräu!!! Vielen lieben Dank!!

Spontaner Besuch, super nett empfangen, nettes und freundliches Gespräch, wahnsinnig leckeres Essen, sogar die Spätzle werden hier hausgemacht (das schmeckt und sieht man), die Portionen reichlich.....wenn wir wieder in die Gegend kommen (aus Regensburg 😁) dann kommen wir wieder hierher (dann mit meinem Mann 👍) Danke an den Wirt, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und es hat Spaß gemacht mit DIR zu plaudern! Also wir fanden es megaaa Verstehen die negativen Bewertungen überhaupt nicht. Preise sind vollkommen i.O. Und das Essen ist frisch, lecker und geschmacklich richtig gut gewürzt. Hammer. Tische recht eng aber da konnte man gut Kontakte knüpfen;-). Der Wirt ist echt lustig und die Damen haben sich mühe gegeben und waren fix.

Ein absolutes Erlebnis! Haben zum Glück zu 2. einen Platz bekommen und die Atmosphäre ist mega und alles schön urig. Die Auswahl an Gerichten spitze. Hatten einen gemischten Salat und das war der beste Salat, den wir je in der Gastro hatten. Ich hatte dann noch das Hirschragout und das war auch sehr fein. Leider konnte ich die Spätzle nicht essen, da sie mit Kurkuma eingefärbt sind. Ich habe ohne Zögern Semmelknödel bekommen und das war auch ne leckere Kombi.

Ein sehr tolles Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt total. Auch das leckere Dampfbier ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Das Ambiente im Innenbereich des Lokals ist sehr schön und auch die Kellner haben das gewisse Etwas. War bereits von 2011 bis 2014 dort zu Gast und nun nach 9 Jahren wieder. Alles wie damals und auch an der Qualität des Essens hat sich nichts geändert. Gerne immer wieder.

Ich kann das Dampfbier und den Krustenbraten nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Ich habe einen gemischten Braten und meine bessere Hälfte ein Gulasch gegessen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Der Mann der bedienenden Zunft war super freundlich und sehr schnell. Er war auch lustig was uns allen sehr gefallen hat. Wenn wir wieder in Zwiesel sind, werden wir hier her kommen.

Vor 3 Jahren aus Zufall und Glück, die letzten Jahre mit Glück war es dieses Mal aus Überzeugung und vorheriger Reservierung. Urig gemütlich mit sehr freundlichem Personal und absolut leckerem Essen. Für mich ein "MUSS" wenn ich in der Nähe bin.

So lecker und so tolle Inhaber, da steckt überall liebe drinnen!
