Dackels Krohne in Celle

We arrived at the door today, September 21, 2025, with several reservations! There was no information on the website, door, or anything like that indicating it was closed! That's no way to treat guests! We then had an excellent meal at "Apachen"! And the website definitely doesn't mention anything!

Nice restaurant on the edge of the old town with a large beer garden. Delicious, regional dishes. Friendly staff keeps everything under control, even when the place is full. We've been there several times!

The food is super delicious and plentiful, there is a wide selection of dishes where everyone can find something they like. The service is very attentive and friendly, I will definitely be back 👍

We're from out of town and came especially to try the Celler Roulade. The ambiance is perfect, the dishes are generously portioned, and the prices are more than reasonable. 😊

Delicious courses from German cuisine. We tried Celler Rolade (photo), burgers, schnitzels, and some sweet thing (closest to pancakes thing they have 🙂); all good. No juice available at the time. Toilet ok, but needs some attention. Very nice service.

I highly recommend "Dackels Krohne"! Okay, from the outside, the entrance area doesn't really make you want to visit, but here you can see that first impressions shouldn't count! The restaurant area and the beer garden are simply top-notch! Everything is lovingly decorated and set. You receive a friendly welcome and, in most cases, you can choose your table. The menu leaves nothing to be desired, with plenty of options even for those with a small appetite. What I particularly like: Special requests are very friendly and catered for. The team ensures that every guest is satisfied. The value for money is unbeatable, the portions are more than ample, and the ambiance is simply cozy. The friendly staff completes the whole experience – you immediately feel welcome.

We were a large group and had placed our order in advance. This meant we didn't have to wait too long, but unfortunately, one side dish was still wrong. The Celler Rohe Roulade, as a starter, was surprisingly generous and very tasty. The tomato soup is also recommended. The fried potatoes in the main courses were very tasty and served with bacon and onions. My Pfannenschlag had a good, soft texture, very little flavor of its own, but a strong hint of spice (caraway?). Overall, though, it wasn't bad. My highlight was the caramelized onions on top. They were heavenly. Unfortunately, three-quarters of the desserts described on the menu were unavailable, which was quite disappointing. A chocolate cappuccino was also unavailable. Generally, we received attentive service, even if it was a bit brusque. I would still come back.

We must have picked the wrong day, as many things were "sold out" (including the fried potatoes). The food wasn't bad, but we had hoped for a bit more. The service was friendly, albeit with a hint of Eastern European charm.

We were passing through and spontaneously stopped in for a beer. A quaint pub with a friendly owner. The pilsner was well-tapped and ice-cold. We'd love to come back.

I really like the quiet, idyllic ambiance. Unfortunately, we waited 1.5 hours for the food, which is quite a challenge with a baby. Nevertheless, the food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly.

We visited the restaurant for a team event in Celle with 20 people, after a reservation had been confirmed a week in advance. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, several colleagues were seated at the wrong table and then corrected somewhat rudely. Drink orders were chaotic – orders were delivered to the wrong tables, presumably due to a poorly communicated table number change. Ordering food was also problematic. Instead of a menu, we were only offered a few dishes verbally, without any prices. The food took two hours to arrive, and the allocation of dishes was unclear and disorganized. My Jägerschnitzel was unfortunately dry, and the fried potatoes were already cold. The taste was acceptable, but not convincing. The ambiance suffered from the stuffy atmosphere – the room was very warm, with no air conditioning or ventilation. Overall, the organization was unsatisfactory for a group of this size. There is potential, but there is clearly room for improvement. Service: ★★☆☆☆ (2 stars) The service was disorganized, at times rude, and communication within the team seemed lacking. Food: ★★★☆☆ (3 stars) The food was average, but the quality (dry schnitzel, cold side dishes) left much to be desired. Ambience: ★★☆☆☆ (2 stars) The room was warm and stuffy, with no air conditioning or ventilation, making the stay unpleasant.

A homely restaurant that keeps up with the times! Perfect for large groups (training courses from the fire academy). You can order a fire brigade platter. But be sure to make a reservation in advance! The menu has dishes for every taste, down-to-earth but stylishly presented, and above all, delicious! Great value for money. The schnitzels are nice and thin, large, and truly delicious.

Solid, thoroughly delicious German cuisine. We enjoyed it. We'll be happy to return if we're ever in Celle again.

We've had much better experiences at this restaurant; the servers are consistently nice and friendly. The food is hearty. This time, it took forever; the salad and food arrived before the cutlery arrived. The beef strips came with mushrooms instead of vegetables and cream sauce, and the hollandaise sauce had already melted the breading on the schnitzel. Nevertheless, it was delicious. We have recommended this restaurant to our holiday guests and friends in the past. Perhaps it was also due to the very warm weather.

If one is looking for a really nice German restaurant with traditional German food then Dackels Krohne is a great option. Super staff (speak very well English) with delicious food. Highly recommended.

Par un midi pluvieux, nous tentons notre chance, il y a de la place. Commande prise en 10 minutes mais servis après... 1h30 d'attente ! C'est dommage car cela sent bon la cuisine authentique. Le rapport qualité/prix est plutôt bon. Clairement le resto manque d'organisation, la carte est peut être trop grande. Bref à faire si vous n'êtes pas pressés. Notre au revoir final sera resté sans réponse.

Very, we have been going out to eat here for 10 years, a rich culinary German cuisine with lots of love and selection, sometimes a little too much.

The food was fantastic. They were the best fried potatoes I've had in 10 years, and the schnitzel was also great.

Very good and inexpensive food. Extremely friendly staff. It was extremely busy that evening. But everything was still great.

Unfortunately, things have deteriorated considerably. Waited almost an hour for a table despite a reservation. Then another 90 minutes for the food. The size and taste of the schnitzels are unfortunately no longer what they used to be. Every time, the same statement: understaffing. It's a shame, as we've always enjoyed going there and have been very satisfied.

We visited this truly pleasant restaurant today. The ambiance has a very pleasant, comfortable feel. The two young men did their best to make all the guests happy. The place was very busy, and we think they did a great job. However, the truly outstanding dishes were the very well-prepared food. The colleagues know their craft, and the food was truly solid and delicious. We had several starters and main courses at our table, and everything was absolutely outstanding. We would definitely be happy to come back.

We came here again after a long time and were very satisfied. We had three currywursts with meatballs and baked potatoes with salmon. It was delicious. I think this restaurant is simply fantastic; it reminds me of old Berlin pubs. I think it's great, and we'll be back again. Thank you.

It was a bit bumpy at first, but that was partly due to the fact that we wanted to sit outside and there weren't any seats available. Because of this, and the waiter's responsibility, our order was taken significantly late, and then there was a power outage in the kitchen. So the food arrived late, but the restaurant was exceptionally busy despite the hot weather, and all the waiters did a great job despite the conditions! The food was delicious, and for €20 per person, including a "regular" drink, you can't complain. Thank you so much!

Phew—chaotic service that evening, and the food—the asparagus was awful. Cold, hard asparagus spears, and no potatoes...I've rarely had such a bad meal. Perhaps it was just coincidence and bad luck for us, but we don't have good memories of the restaurant.

Vi var et selskab på otte der havde reserveret bord til kl. 18. Sa vi ankom, var der ikke noget bord klar til os og vi blev bedt om at vente. Efter ca. 20 minutter blev der arrangeret et bord til os i restaurantens bar, da der ikke var plads i selve serveringslokalet. Efter ca. tre kvarter kunne vi bestille drikkevarer og efter godt en time kunne vi bestille maden. Den fik vi serveret kl. 20.20. To timer og tyve minutter efter vi var ankommet til vores reservation. Det var helt tydeligt at personalet ikke havde overblik og der var taget for mange gæster ind. Maden var der ikke noget at udsætte på. Den var rigtig god.

Havde bestilt bord til kl.18.00. Følte os ignoreret. Vi sad i ølstuen efter de havde sat et par borde sammen.Havde ikke tid til at tage imod bestilling af mad før kl. 19.00 og vi fik først serveret maden kl. 20.20. En i vores selskab forlod stedet før maden blev serveret. Det skulle vi alle have gjort. Vi fik ingen form for undskyldning, kun beklagelse over at de var udgået for kartofler.😡

1. The menu is wrong: "Quattenpantschinken" is on the menu, but the waitress's response was simply: "Huh, we don't have any ham..." 2. The food isn't fresh: The chef confirms that the Kaiserschmarrn isn't fresh, but prepared and just reheated. 3. The food was ordered at 6:05 PM, and despite several inquiries, the food didn't arrive until 8:30 PM! 4. Bad service: Despite a two-and-a-half-hour wait, the waiter only came over if you jumped up and waved your arms to get your attention. They didn't voluntarily inform you that the food would take a few hours longer, but simply looked away and pretended not to see the five annoyed guests with empty glasses. --》 Never again

1. Speisekarte ist falsch: Topfenpalatschinken auf der Karte, aber die Antwort der Bedienung war nur: "Hä, wir haben keinen Schinken...." 2. Essen ist nicht frisch: Koch bestätigt, daß der Kaiserschmarrn nicht frisch, sondern vorbereitet und nur aufgewärmt wird 3. Essen wurde um 18:05 bestellt, trotz diverser Nachfragen kam das Essen erst um 20.30! 4. Schlechter Service: Trotz zweieinhalb Stunden langer Wartezeit kam der Ober nur vorbei, wenn man aufsprang und mit den Armen winkend auf sich aufmerksam machte. Freiwillig keine Info, daß das Essen einige Stunden länger dauert, sondern nur weggucken und so tun, als ob man die fünf genervten Gäste mit leeren Gläsern nicht sehen würde --》 Nie wieder

No!! The staff was overwhelmed, the schnitzel was thinner than the breadcrumbs around it, and the fried potatoes were delicious, cooked to perfection...but the portion was a child's portion. We wanted to sit outside, but we weren't allowed...even though all the tables were occupied later in the outdoor lighting. The service was unfriendly... The manager and her daughter apologized for our inconvenience...but it still wasn't a great evening. We had to pre-order the food for our group of 12 and still waited almost an hour for it.

Wir waren an einem Freitagabend mit 12 Personen zum Essen um 19 Uhr dort. Der Tisch war vorher reserviert worden. Wir haben erst auf Nachfrage nach Wartezeit Speisekarten bekommen und konnten Getränke- und Essenswünsche melden. Wir mussten dann sehr lange warten, bis Getränke und Essen kamen. Das erste Essen kam schließlich nach ca. 1h45 Wartezeit (gerechnet ab unserer Ankunft) und für die 12 Personen zeitlich ca. 10 Minuten versetzt. Die Qualität war unterschiedlich, teils sehr gut, teils aber auch gar nicht. Was wir uns gewünscht hätten: wenn es aus welchen Gründen auch immer länger dauert, dann wäre eine pro-aktive Kommunikation angebracht gewesen. Eine kleine pro-aktive Aufmerksamkeit als "Entschuldigung" bzw. Überbrückung für / während der Wartezeit hätte der Stimmung gut getan.

Just asking if there was a free table was too much for the host/waiter! Unfriendly! Therefore, not recommended for tourists 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Disappointing asparagus meal - not recommended We were in a group eating asparagus and were very disappointed. Some of the asparagus was as hard as raw carrots - in our opinion it was not cooked enough. In addition, the food overall was only lukewarm. When we politely asked, we were lectured to rather than treated in a friendly manner by the staff, which further dampened the atmosphere. Friendliness and service left a lot to be desired.

Everything was great, I'll definitely be back.

A friendly and warm bar/restaurant serving cost effective German food (very tasty) with a good selection of drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful. It soon gets full so be sure to reserve in advance. They also have a lovely beer garden at the rear for warmer weather.

We were looking for a restaurant quite late in the evening (around 9 p.m.) and were glad that the Dachels Krohne's kitchen was still open. The service was incredibly friendly, the food was really good and the price was absolutely fair! The house specialty, the raw roulade, was something very special and we really enjoyed it! The wine too - delicious. We'll be back. Thank you for the lovely evening.

We are already sitting at the table with 7 people, after us 4 people came to the next table and were served first. Cold starter soup and then waiting almost 2 hours for food is not possible. I ordered ketchup and mayo again for the ribs, but nothing arrived. Never again

Mega large portions each with a side salad. Tastes very good. I have now found a new version of schnitzel that we will make at home. Price/performance ratio is right. We would eat here again at any time. Despite the fact that we were there earlier than we had ordered the table, we were able to stay there and we got a seat. Service was courteous and friendly. Toilet clean and tidy. Ambience clean and well maintained. If you're looking for good German, regional cuisine, you'll find it here - you'll be happy to come back.

We eat there often and really enjoy it. It's a warm, family-run business. The atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed. The restaurant is often busy, but since the food is freshly prepared, there can be long waits. But for us, it's worth it. The food is always excellent and there's a great selection; everyone should find something delicious. The price/performance ratio is always good, too. I personally recommend the roast beef.

Even one star is too much. We've been there several times now, and every time it's the same... You wait up to two hours for your food, and if you say anything, you get a rude response. Truly the lowest of the low. Unfriendly and rude, and you wait forever. Not recommended.

I don't understand the hype about Dachshund's Crown.🤔 The food is good, home-style, the service is very nice, the toilets are in need of renovation. The dining room at the front is pub level and highly frequented. The back part has been nicely renovated and invites you to linger, but the food is of normal village restaurant standard. The raw roulade doesn't come close to the taste of a catering competitor here in Celle, far too many onions. Overall, if you're hungry you can get a decent meal, but it's not enough to go to your favorite restaurant.

These were the best ribs I've had in a long time! The raw roulade as a starter was also great. The dining room was packed and the service staff seemed overworked at times. But the delicious food more than made up for it. I can only recommend Dachshunds Krohne and will come back.

A neat and clean restaurant to linger. The service was excellent. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, so you'll be more than full. Very friendly service. The building is a historic monument, which is why the inside and outside appearance may seem a bit rustic, but it still fits in with the high-quality furnishings. On our next visit to Celle I definitely won't eat anywhere else.

We are currently out here as my partner works in the area. This lovely cute place is about 5 minutes walk away from us. It's a lovely pub with amazing food. Best bit of steak iv had was in here. Staff are all friendly and the owners are such lovely couple. We love this pub. The people that comes in are all lovely and friendly too. They always trying to teach us German too which is great. If you are in area this is definitely the best pub. We love it. Come to think of it. Think might just go there for a meal tonight. No cooking. 😃 Jennie and Dave

I've been living in Celle for 20 years, but I've never eaten here before. Excellent cuisine and a thick menu. Like every other guest, I can only recommend it. This definitely won't be my last visit

We were in this location as a group (company Christmas party). The large room at the back was comfortably furnished and everything was ready. The first round of drinks went relatively quickly. When the soup was brought we noticed that there were no spoons. Unfortunately it took a while for them to arrive and the soup was then cold or only lukewarm because there was one on the warming plate. The main course was meat platters with vegetables. The meat was not at all satisfactory, only lukewarm and everything was dry except for the schnitzel. The beef was very tough and inedible, which was a shame. The other drinks orders were sometimes quite slow, were forgotten or had to be bought first. In the end, the desserts were good. Unfortunately we had hoped for more from the location, which was a shame.

Unfortunately our Christmas dinner was a failure. The Christmas card was presented to us and unfortunately no changes were desired. The dessert that was available was with a wine sauce, making it unsuitable for children and pregnant women. It's sad that they didn't think about it. I ordered a duck breast with red cabbage and potato dumplings. It was potatoes instead of dumplings, which can happen. When I asked, I got the dumplings I wanted. It was unfortunate that the dumplings were ice cold on the inside and therefore inedible. When the waiter finally appeared, he showed no reaction and simply walked away. In general he was very unpleasant... The red cabbage was seasoned with star anise and had nothing to do with classic red cabbage. Unfortunately the duck breast wasn't completely tender. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Dackels Krone because it wasn't the first time that we left the table disappointed and hungry because the food didn't taste good, wasn't quite cooked or was still ice cold on the inside.

I can't even give one star. Table for Christmas party ordered with confirmation. Place your food order in advance. We had to give up double occupancy...as we were only offered a place in the winter garden. It was drafty everywhere, it was cold and very unclean. There was still dirt on the tables from the last meal. We were greeted very unfriendly and the conversation with the gentlemen was also very unfriendly.

We were very disappointed. Our Christmas party had to be canceled because the restaurant didn't have room for us. Even though it was booked weeks ago. Alternatively, they had us, 19 people Outdoor seating offered. What a disgrace!
