Culinarius in Köln

Wir waren schon häufig im Cullinarius essen und waren bisher immer sehr zufrieden. Das Essen war hervorragend und die Atmosphäre angenehm. Nach längerer Zeit – und nachdem Ganni nicht mehr da ist – waren wir nun wieder zu Besuch. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den jungen Service-Mitarbeiter, der uns an diesem Abend betreut hat. Er war ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und professionell. An seinem Service gab es absolut nichts auszusetzen. Leider wurde der gesamte Abend durch einen anderen Kellner überschattet. Er lief mehrfach laut fluchend und schimpfend – auf Italienisch – durch das Restaurant. Auch wenn wir den Inhalt nicht vollständig verstanden haben, war seine Körpersprache und Lautstärke so auffällig, dass es die Stimmung massiv beeinträchtigt hat. Als Gast möchte man einen entspannten Abend verbringen und nicht ständig einem offensichtlich wütenden Mitarbeiter ausgesetzt sein. Nachdem wir bezahlt hatten, habe ich ihn höflich auf sein Verhalten angesprochen und lediglich gesagt, dass es für Gäste sehr unangenehm ist, wenn ein Kellner fluchend und schimpfend ständig an den Tischen vorbeiläuft. Statt Verständnis zu zeigen oder sich zu entschuldigen, stritt er alles ab, reagierte äußerst unfreundlich und versuchte sogar, mich glauben zu lassen, ich würde unseren eigentlichen Service-Mitarbeiter meinen. Das war völlig absurd und hat mich ehrlich sprachlos gemacht. Es ist wirklich schade, denn ein einzelner Mitarbeiter hat einen Abend, auf den wir uns gefreut hatten, komplett ruiniert. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrung werden wir das Cullinarius leider nicht mehr besuchen.

Leider brutal nachgelassen; Wartezeiten aufs Essen extrem lang plus die Qualität ist nicht mehr das was es mal war ! Sehr sehr schade

Das Essen war in Ordnung, mit soliden italienischen Gerichten. Leider ließ der Service sehr zu wünschen übrig. Die Angestellten wirkten unfreundlich und lästerten sogar über andere Gäste in Hörweite des Speisesaals, was unprofessionell und unangenehm war. Als wir höflich um einen anderen Tisch baten, da es aus der Küche zog und Rauch aufstieg, wurde uns dies zunächst verweigert, obwohl mehrere Tische frei waren. Erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen durften wir wechseln, und von da an war unser Kellner sichtlich frustriert und unfreundlich. Bei diesen Preisen hätte ich einen deutlich höheren Standard an Gastfreundschaft und Kundenservice erwartet. Gäste kommen, um mit ihrer Familie ein Essen zu genießen, nicht um sich mit unnötiger Unfreundlichkeit herumzuschlagen. Etwas mehr Professionalität und ein weniger egoistisches Auftreten würden viel bewirken.

Das Restaurant ist eine Unverschämtheit! Als Einzelperson wurde ich nicht bedient noch schlimmer, man hat mich beschimpft, wie ich einen Vierertisch besetzen kann! Ich hatte natürlich vorher gefragt, ob es möglich ist da zu sitzen!! NIE mehr in diesen Laden!!! Frechheit !!

Dieses Restaurant ist wirklich das schlechteste, was ich seit langem besucht habe. Das, was einem hier als “Service” geboten wird, grenzt an eine absolute Frechheit. Über mein Essen kann ich nicht viel sagen, da ich dies nie erhalten habe. Mir wurde nach zweimaliger Nachfrage (von Seiten der Bedienung, welches Gericht ich bestellt hatte) nach einer geschlagenen Stunde das falsche Essen serviert und als ich dieses zurückgingen ließ, wartet ich weitere 30 Minuten, erhielt mein Essen immer noch nicht und wird bezahlten schließlich. Wer also hektisches Ambiente, unfreundliche und freche Kellner und ewig lange Wartezeiten haben möchte: dieses Restaurant ist ihre Adresse!

Ich war vor kurzem im Culinarius mit einigen Freunden zu Gast. Wir hatten uns auf einen schönen Abend gefreut, jedoch wurde diese Erwartung bitter enttäuscht. Zu aller erst, begann es mit der Reservierung, wo uns gesagt wurde, das wir draußen sitzen dürfen, was dann bei der Ankunft nach mehrfachem Nachfragen erst ermöglicht wurde. Abgesehen vom Essen, wurden wir vom Kellner respektlos behandelt. Der Kellner mit der ,,Glatze’’ kam uns Vorallem am Ende sehr unwertschätzend vor. Nachdem wir ihm mitgeteilt hatten, dass wir die Rechnung durch 3 teilen wollen, sagte er ,,Nein, wir haben hier nen vollen Laden’’. Sorry, aber wenn ich hier die Bewertungen durchgehe merke ich ein Wiederholungsmuster, welches sich wohl stark in die Länge zieht. Muss man in dem Laden über 200€ ausgeben um einigermaßen respektvoll behandelt zu werden. Finde ich unglaublich und möchte, das ein Verhalten solcher Art umgehend gebessert wird!

Sehr schade - auf einen Wein bei Ihnen hatten wir uns sehr gefreut. Leider wurden wir stattdessen präemptiv bei Starkregen und Gewitter informiert, dass es sich um “ein Speiselokal” handelt mit der eindeutigen Nachricht, dass wir bei Starkregen und Gewitter nicht als Gäste in Ihrem Lokal gewünscht sind… obwohl die restlichen Gäste zu diesem Zeitpunkt auch keine Speisen zu sich nahmen. Schade - einfach sehr schade…

Einfach schön! Wir kommen gerne hierher und wurden noch nie enttäuscht.

Das Essen ist Top. Preise sind angemessen. Ich bin sehr häufig hier gewesen, allerdings habe ich mich bei meinen letzten Besuchen sehr unwohl gefühlt und werde daher fürs erste eine Pause einlegen. Bei einem unserer Besuche saßen wir erstmals neben der Küche. In der Mitte das Raumes ist kein gemütliches Essen möglich. Es ist laut, Kellner rennen gestresst an einem vorbei etc. Außerdem wirkten die Kellner auch beim bedienen irgendwie gestresst, hektisch, angespannt, als ob die Freundlichkeit jederzeit kippen könnte. Bei zwei weiteren Besuchen (Abends), wollten wir erstmals nicht groß Essen, sondern uns draußen hinsetzen und etwas trinken + ggfs. eine Kleinigkeit Essen. Beide Male waren vielleicht max. 50% der Tische besetzt. Beide Male haben wir gesagt, dass wir (nur) etwas trinken wollen und vielleicht eine Kleinigkeit Essen. Ich glaube beim ersten Mal hat der Kellner uns gar nicht richtig gehört, den er fing sofort hektisch an unseren Tisch einzudecken, was mich verwirrte, aber dachte gut vielleicht wollen sie das so. Beim zweiten Mal haben wir ausdrücklich gesagt, dass wir nur was trinken wollen. An der Reaktion merkte man direkt, dass solche Besuche nicht gewünscht, aber scheinbar gedultet werden. Genauso habe ich mich den Rest meines Besuches auch gefühlt "gedultet". Ich kann verstehen, warum Restaurants nur Gäste wollen, die auch richtig Essen, aber dann händelt die Situation bitte nächstes Mal anderes und nicht so, dass man sich einfach den kompletten Besuch unerwünscht fühlt. Das entspricht nicht meiner Vorstellung von einem professionellen und freundlichem Kellner. Aus meiner Sicht ist der Job eines guten Kellners dass der Gast sich wohlfühlt. Man kann Grenzen setzen z.B. es muss etwas zu Essen bestellt werden, aber dann kommuniziert man diese FREUNDLICH und auf professionelle Weise.

Ein wunderschönes Restaurant, alle Angestellten waren freundlich und sehr nett zu unseren Kindern. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Leckeres Essen auf sehr hohem italienischen Niveau! Wenn ich eins liebe, dann Pasta mit Lachs, die lasse ich mir bei jedem Italiener herrichten. Ich finde, das ist immer ein guter Indikator, um zu testen, ob eine Küche es richtig draufhat. Das Culinarius hat meine Prüfung auf jeden Fall mit Bravour bestanden! Des Weiteren ist mir der Service extrem positiv aufgefallen. Der junge, charmante Mann mit dem Namen Gian Luca macht wirklich einen exzellenten Job und hat einen hohen Unterhaltungswert! Ein wirklich schönes Ambiente, das man dort vorfindet, auch sehr passend für Rendezvous jeglicher Art. Eine echte kölsche Italiener mitten im Herzen von Lindenthal. Eine klare Empfehlung meinerseits. Bitte weiter so machen 👍👍👍

Es war spannend - und sehr sehr lecker! Ein echter Kultitaliener. Man kann auch draußen sitzen und ist mitten im geschehen.

Durchschnittlicher Besuch an einem Samstag Abend mit 6 Personen ! Das Essen bei mehreren Personen versalzen, der Geräuschpegel extrem hoch . Nachdem die Rechnung beglichen wurde ( 350 Euro) war dann deutlich zu merken das der Kellner mit seinem Trinkgeld von 35 Euro unzufrieden war . Wir waren jetzt einige Male da, werden das Restaurant in Zukunft meiden !

Die besten Gnocchi, die ich je in meinem Leben gegessen habe. Taleggio mit Walnüssen.

Waren in großen Abständen immer wieder mal dort und das Essen, Service und das Ambiente waren immer sehr gut.

Meine Frau hatte Tagliolini Cacio e Pepe, ich die Fischsuppe. Beides ging so - nicht ungenießbar, aber auch nichts Dolles. An den Tagliolini war mehr Butter als Pecorino und die Fischsuppe war einfach, ja, mittelmäßig. Es ist sehr trubelig dort, das kann man ja mögen … Lindenthaler Sehen-und-Gesehen-werden. Das Personal ist locker und freundlich, dabei schnell, soweit okay also. Wenn‘s auf dem Weg liegt, kann man dort hin. Mehr nicht.

Top Italiener! Der Laden hat eine richtig schöne, authentische Atmosphäre. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und schnell – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Das Essen war einfach super: frisch, geschmackvoll und typisch italienisch. Insgesamt ein toller Besuch. Komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

Mein Lieblings Italiener in Köln. Feeling wie in Bella Italia 🤌🏽 Essen ist immer on point. Leider finde ich die Akustik ein wenig hellhörig. Freue mich aber bereits auf die Neueröffnung und wir kommen wieder.

Wir kommen regelmäßig zum Essen, wenn wir in der Nähe sind. Eine große Auswahl leckerer Speisen und Getränke in einem schönen Ambiente. Durch die lange Öffnungszeiten kann man auch noch um 16.o.00 Uhr, wenn andere Lokale schon geschlossen sind in Ruhe Speisen.

The worst place ever. Completely disorganized, rude, and the quality is mediocre at best. Even confirmed reservations are irrelevant. It's almost laughable, if it weren't so disrespectful.

Hmm, well, my girlfriend always wants to go there. I find you always end up sitting in a kind of aisle. The wooden chairs are hard and small. Everything's quite cramped. And three times I wasn't very happy with the food. Last time, they kindly prepared tagliatelle with salmon for me, which wasn't on the menu, but it was awful. The sauce was so oversalted (you'd think they'd notice when the whole salt shaker fell in) that I couldn't finish it, and the pasta was more than al dente, still too firm. You can always add more salt, so they should use it sparingly. What a shame. I've never experienced anything like it.

After being very disappointed with the food here for the second time on my visit today, I feel compelled to leave a more nuanced review. The service was fine, and the restaurant's ambiance is good. However, the food was very disappointing. I've never eaten such a bland eggplant parmigiana, and my pasta was truly awful. I also have bad memories of the dishes from my first visit a few months ago. I wanted to give the restaurant a second chance because there are so many positive reviews. But I simply can't understand them regarding the food.

The food was very wholesome, the wine very good, and the ambiance seemed fine—until they noticed I wasn't a regular and was visiting the restaurant alone. I'm used to being treated like a guest, sometimes even as a friend, in Italian restaurants, but unfortunately, there was no sign of that. No one asked if everything was okay with the food; I felt as if I was being served reluctantly. Being asked about my meal and whether I had any other requests was the worst I could get. Yes, it was crowded, but even there, service should be practiced. The person next to me was asked about the type of water (sparkling/still), but I wasn't, and the wine was served by another attentive waiter because it had been forgotten. My chair was removed after they made sure I was alone (normal when the restaurant was busy, but not like this). And the best part: when I asked for the bill, the next guest, who had a different seat, was seated opposite me and told that my seat (my seat) would soon be free. After a stressful day at work, I wasn't expecting anything like this. Oh yeah, the food was excellent!

Absolutely wonderful food, nothing to complain about. The prices are worth the food. The service: a complete disaster. The order was taken incorrectly (I noticed it twice), but the customer was at fault only because the waiter was completely overwhelmed. Finally, he demanded that I pay for his mistakes, otherwise he would have to pay for them or be fired. It's simply a joke, such rude people because I'm a woman and German!? It's better to sit on the right side of the fountain on the terrace, then you have a better chance of receiving friendly, competent service.

Very good food. You'll always find something special here, both in terms of drinks and food. That comes at a price. This is the right place for a special meal. I was thrilled with the non-alcoholic Aporol Spritz. It was really delicious... and I was able to sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle on Dürener Straße.

One of my favourite places in Lindenthal. The staff is very friendly and the food is very good as well. The have a lot of tables in and outside so you don't need a reservation - most of the time. The only thing I do not like or never understood about this place is there are TVs hanging in some corners - but maybe that's Italian :)

I've never felt so unwelcome as I did in this restaurant. I was there with a friend and was served by a very unfriendly gentleman. The meat on my salad was almost raw and had to be sent back to the kitchen. We had just finished the last bite when our plates were taken away, along with the bread basket we would have liked to have eaten. It must be said... we are not part of Lindental's high society, but just ordinary people! Never again!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. 1. Arrogant waiters. 2. Vittelo tomato was quite watery. 3. Rigatoni con pomodori lacked flavor. 4. Overpriced white wines (Schulthaucher - €60.00, that's unacceptable). 5. Waiting about 15 meters to pay. We won't be back.

We're always happy to come back. The most wholesome and high-quality food. Always freshly prepared and served by the friendliest people. The restaurant is always full, whether you come for lunch or dinner. A very good wine selection. Of course, it's not the cheapest price category, but everything is delicious. And afterward, a great coffee, espresso, grappa, and the absolute specialty: Cassata! We sincerely hope they find a new location and that Culinarius stays with us.

The waitress just pushes people around on the street. We couldn't eat in a relaxed manner because there's a café next door, and people were waiting in line for the café at our table. This, of course, limited the service, but they could have remained polite and not just pushed people around.

First time here. The food was really delicious, but at €23.90, it wasn't really worth the amount (paroadelle with asparagus and bacon). The service was friendly. However, the atmosphere was quite hectic, loud, and rather cramped.

The Culinarius in Cologne is a real insider tip for everyone who appreciates good food and personal service. As soon as you enter you can feel the pleasant, stylish atmosphere - relaxed but with class. The service is first class: attentive, friendly and with a real host mentality. I was particularly impressed by the changing dishes on the tables, which provide real variety and show how seasonal and creative the cooking is here. Every dish tasted excellent and was lovingly prepared - you can tell that the work here is done with passion and skill. Conclusion: An all-round successful evening in a restaurant that we would happily recommend. Anyone looking for enjoyment and quality has come to the right place at Culinarius.

Jahrelang West Place in Lindenthal, immer super Küche und freundliche Bedienung. Bis auf heute: ausnahmsweise durften wir draußen mit dem Hintern auf der Straße etwas trinken, Kommentar: eigentlich sind wir ein Speiselokal! Okay in einem Jahr ist auch dieses Servicewüste vorbei.

The food was really delicious and fresh 😋 the ambience, the staff and of course the authentic food make you feel like you're in "little Italy". Die letzten zwölf Monate sind angebrochen. Nach Aussage der Inhaber wird im März 2026 die Lokalität und die Bewirtung eingestellt. Schade, bei meinem Besuch letzte Woche war das Restorante wieder rammel voll bei typisch italienischer und sizilianische Küche. Liebenswürdiger und professioneller Service runden das Angebot ab. Eine der besseren Italiener in Köln wird ganz bestimmt in Lindenthal vermisst. Noch schnell einmal hin…

Rarely enjoyed such a cozy, good Italian meal. I was here for the first time with a good friend and I immediately felt at home. Whether it's a starter, main course or dessert, everything is simply a pleasure. Be sure to try the bruschetta with tomatoes and garlic dabbed in light oil and balsamic vinegar. Above all, I like the relaxed nature of the waiters and the really successful atmosphere. I'd love to come by again.

Scene restaurant where you should definitely have been. This is where Cologne meets.

Wir waren an einem Mittwochabend hier und das Lokal war angenehm leer. Die Bedienung war sehr flott, höflich und serviceorientiert. Die Vorspeise, zwei verschiedene Carpaccio, war ok, aber wir haben schon deutlich bessere gegessen. Als Hauptspeise hatten wir eine Pizza und Nudeln und waren über die Nudeln herb enttäuscht, die Pizza war gut, aber auch die gibt es woanders deutlich besser. Geschmacklich gibt es allerdings nichts zu bemängeln! Insgesamt sind wir enttäuscht über dieses Lokal, da Preis Leistung definitiv nicht gegeben ist, denn es war ganz klein zu teuer, wobei dies sicherlich der Lage Köln/Lindenthal geschuldet ist. Fazit: Wir kommen nicht wieder, obwohl fussläufig für uns erreichbar.

Disappointing experience – never again! I went to this restaurant with high expectations as I knew it from previous visits and had only heard positive things about it. The day before I reserved a table for 10:45 p.m. because it was announced everywhere that the kitchen would be open until midnight. The waitress on the phone didn't say anything against it either. When we arrived at 10:45 p.m. we were greeted with strange looks. When the menus were brought to us, we were told to order quickly because the kitchen was waiting for us and the staff wanted to go home, and the waiter was breathing down our necks the whole time and putting extra pressure on us. We were told to get up and look at the starters ourselves as the waiter didn't know what was available as most of it had already been put away and cleaned. I chose pasta with lobster and was given the matching cutlery. Unfortunately, the waiter made an inappropriate comment that I shouldn't be afraid, it was just for my dish - probably because he thought I'd never eaten anything like that before. The meal itself was disappointing; it tasted like it had been hastily prepared or reheated. The lobster was cold in the internal parts. When the waiter asked if everything was OK, we told him that we didn't like the food and that it was prepared quickly. He apologized but offered no alternatives or solutions. He admitted that the food was hastily prepared because the kitchen was heading into the weekend. He suggested coming earlier next time to get better food and service. We gratefully declined his apology and the offered schnapps, but this couldn't save the evening either. We spoke directly about why we were treated this way and that we were quickly put under pressure. Then he said again that we should just come earlier. It's just outrageous that we were treated like this. Also the waiter's statement about what we could think of to eat so late and what we would have done all day and yet had to come earlier. Which is total nonsense since it says “continuous kitchen until midnight” everywhere and we had made a special reservation. After the first stupid comments from the waiter, we actually wanted to get up and leave, but since we drove an extra 40 minutes and we couldn't go anywhere to eat anymore, we unfortunately stayed. Overall, this was a huge disappointment and I will never set foot in this place again. Unfortunately I cannot give positive feedback. Feedback on the answer with the times: I added the photo from the homepage with the kitchens and opening times, it is also at the entrance on the door. It's a shame about the answer from the restaurant, I made a reservation the day before and I wasn't told about an exception and I didn't want one, I could have done without it instead of getting such bad service and such bad food. It's not our fault that the employees have been standing in the hot kitchen since 9 a.m. I come from the catering industry myself, so the fault clearly lies with the owner. We wouldn't stand in the kitchen for 15 hours. And unfortunately her statement is very reminiscent of the waiter that we should come earlier at “regular times” sorry I’m not laughing. As long as you accept orders and customers, the service and quality should be the same as if I were the first customer!!!

Beautiful, authentic and lively. Depending on the table/high table, it can be a little tighter. We made a reservation at short notice and had a good time. The food was very tasty.

I go to the restaurant to eat something that I can't cook myself. I don't go out to buy status. This restaurant has nothing to offer culinary-wise. Fish soup has more seafood than fish, something like that is called seafood soup. In a fish soup you can't fit the leftovers from the buffet, because it tasted like it had matured into stinking boots. Pizza was mediocre. Prices far too high for little quality.

Tiramisu Tradizionale (as it says on the menu): without mascarpone, without amaretto, without ladyfingers. Unfortunately it doesn't work at all, which is why the dessert was very disappointing. In general, I would rework the entire dessert menu or at least not write it Traditionally because it's just not right. I have to say the food was really fantastic. The waiter was very personable and put us in a good mood. Big praise. There was limoncello on the house, well we left a huge sum there too :)! Otherwise the restaurant is very lively and loud.

Just for your Mediterranean fish soup 😍 it's worth visiting your place. If it wasn't always so "busy and restless", we would come more often

Tortellini with truffle sauce and, first of all, Vitello Tonnato, both very, very tasty. A dry white wine went well with it. 👍👍👍

So eine Frechheit hatte ich in meinem Leben nie erlebt! Schlechter Service, halbe Stunde um einen Kaffee bestellen zu können! Viele Kellner und keiner kümmerte sich um uns. Wir haben wenig Trinkgeld gegeben und unser Kellner sagte in Italienisch wir sollen lieber niw wieder hingehen! Ich bon Italiener und habe es verstanden habe gefragt was das Problem war ind er sagte ich soll das Lokal verlassen!! Nie so eine Frechheit erlebt. Wenn mann Trinkgeld will, muss man es auch verdienen und vor allem kein Kellner darf zu einem Gast so sprechen!! Geht nie hin!!
