Culinarius in Köln

The food was very wholesome, the wine very good, and the ambiance seemed fine—until they noticed I wasn't a regular and was visiting the restaurant alone. I'm used to being treated like a guest, sometimes even as a friend, in Italian restaurants, but unfortunately, there was no sign of that. No one asked if everything was okay with the food; I felt as if I was being served reluctantly. Being asked about my meal and whether I had any other requests was the worst I could get. Yes, it was crowded, but even there, service should be practiced. The person next to me was asked about the type of water (sparkling/still), but I wasn't, and the wine was served by another attentive waiter because it had been forgotten. My chair was removed after they made sure I was alone (normal when the restaurant was busy, but not like this). And the best part: when I asked for the bill, the next guest, who had a different seat, was seated opposite me and told that my seat (my seat) would soon be free. After a stressful day at work, I wasn't expecting anything like this. Oh yeah, the food was excellent!

Absolutely wonderful food, nothing to complain about. The prices are worth the food. The service: a complete disaster. The order was taken incorrectly (I noticed it twice), but the customer was at fault only because the waiter was completely overwhelmed. Finally, he demanded that I pay for his mistakes, otherwise he would have to pay for them or be fired. It's simply a joke, such rude people because I'm a woman and German!? It's better to sit on the right side of the fountain on the terrace, then you have a better chance of receiving friendly, competent service.

A cult Italian restaurant in Lindental. Always a wonderful experience with delicious Italian food.

Very good food. You'll always find something special here, both in terms of drinks and food. That comes at a price. This is the right place for a special meal. I was thrilled with the non-alcoholic Aporol Spritz. It was really delicious... and I was able to sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle on Dürener Straße.

One of my favourite places in Lindenthal. The staff is very friendly and the food is very good as well. The have a lot of tables in and outside so you don't need a reservation - most of the time. The only thing I do not like or never understood about this place is there are TVs hanging in some corners - but maybe that's Italian :)

I've never felt so unwelcome as I did in this restaurant. I was there with a friend and was served by a very unfriendly gentleman. The meat on my salad was almost raw and had to be sent back to the kitchen. We had just finished the last bite when our plates were taken away, along with the bread basket we would have liked to have eaten. It must be said... we are not part of Lindental's high society, but just ordinary people! Never again!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. 1. Arrogant waiters. 2. Vittelo tomato was quite watery. 3. Rigatoni con pomodori lacked flavor. 4. Overpriced white wines (Schulthaucher - €60.00, that's unacceptable). 5. Waiting about 15 meters to pay. We won't be back.

We're always happy to come back. The most wholesome and high-quality food. Always freshly prepared and served by the friendliest people. The restaurant is always full, whether you come for lunch or dinner. A very good wine selection. Of course, it's not the cheapest price category, but everything is delicious. And afterward, a great coffee, espresso, grappa, and the absolute specialty: Cassata! We sincerely hope they find a new location and that Culinarius stays with us.

The waitress just pushes people around on the street. We couldn't eat in a relaxed manner because there's a café next door, and people were waiting in line for the café at our table. This, of course, limited the service, but they could have remained polite and not just pushed people around.

First time here. The food was really delicious, but at €23.90, it wasn't really worth the amount (paroadelle with asparagus and bacon). The service was friendly. However, the atmosphere was quite hectic, loud, and rather cramped.

The Culinarius in Cologne is a real insider tip for everyone who appreciates good food and personal service. As soon as you enter you can feel the pleasant, stylish atmosphere - relaxed but with class. The service is first class: attentive, friendly and with a real host mentality. I was particularly impressed by the changing dishes on the tables, which provide real variety and show how seasonal and creative the cooking is here. Every dish tasted excellent and was lovingly prepared - you can tell that the work here is done with passion and skill. Conclusion: An all-round successful evening in a restaurant that we would happily recommend. Anyone looking for enjoyment and quality has come to the right place at Culinarius.

Jahrelang West Place in Lindenthal, immer super Küche und freundliche Bedienung. Bis auf heute: ausnahmsweise durften wir draußen mit dem Hintern auf der Straße etwas trinken, Kommentar: eigentlich sind wir ein Speiselokal! Okay in einem Jahr ist auch dieses Servicewüste vorbei.

Rarely enjoyed such a cozy, good Italian meal. I was here for the first time with a good friend and I immediately felt at home. Whether it's a starter, main course or dessert, everything is simply a pleasure. Be sure to try the bruschetta with tomatoes and garlic dabbed in light oil and balsamic vinegar. Above all, I like the relaxed nature of the waiters and the really successful atmosphere. I'd love to come by again.

Scene restaurant where you should definitely have been. This is where Cologne meets.

Wir waren an einem Mittwochabend hier und das Lokal war angenehm leer. Die Bedienung war sehr flott, höflich und serviceorientiert. Die Vorspeise, zwei verschiedene Carpaccio, war ok, aber wir haben schon deutlich bessere gegessen. Als Hauptspeise hatten wir eine Pizza und Nudeln und waren über die Nudeln herb enttäuscht, die Pizza war gut, aber auch die gibt es woanders deutlich besser. Geschmacklich gibt es allerdings nichts zu bemängeln! Insgesamt sind wir enttäuscht über dieses Lokal, da Preis Leistung definitiv nicht gegeben ist, denn es war ganz klein zu teuer, wobei dies sicherlich der Lage Köln/Lindenthal geschuldet ist. Fazit: Wir kommen nicht wieder, obwohl fussläufig für uns erreichbar.

Disappointing experience – never again! I went to this restaurant with high expectations as I knew it from previous visits and had only heard positive things about it. The day before I reserved a table for 10:45 p.m. because it was announced everywhere that the kitchen would be open until midnight. The waitress on the phone didn't say anything against it either. When we arrived at 10:45 p.m. we were greeted with strange looks. When the menus were brought to us, we were told to order quickly because the kitchen was waiting for us and the staff wanted to go home, and the waiter was breathing down our necks the whole time and putting extra pressure on us. We were told to get up and look at the starters ourselves as the waiter didn't know what was available as most of it had already been put away and cleaned. I chose pasta with lobster and was given the matching cutlery. Unfortunately, the waiter made an inappropriate comment that I shouldn't be afraid, it was just for my dish - probably because he thought I'd never eaten anything like that before. The meal itself was disappointing; it tasted like it had been hastily prepared or reheated. The lobster was cold in the internal parts. When the waiter asked if everything was OK, we told him that we didn't like the food and that it was prepared quickly. He apologized but offered no alternatives or solutions. He admitted that the food was hastily prepared because the kitchen was heading into the weekend. He suggested coming earlier next time to get better food and service. We gratefully declined his apology and the offered schnapps, but this couldn't save the evening either. We spoke directly about why we were treated this way and that we were quickly put under pressure. Then he said again that we should just come earlier. It's just outrageous that we were treated like this. Also the waiter's statement about what we could think of to eat so late and what we would have done all day and yet had to come earlier. Which is total nonsense since it says “continuous kitchen until midnight” everywhere and we had made a special reservation. After the first stupid comments from the waiter, we actually wanted to get up and leave, but since we drove an extra 40 minutes and we couldn't go anywhere to eat anymore, we unfortunately stayed. Overall, this was a huge disappointment and I will never set foot in this place again. Unfortunately I cannot give positive feedback. Feedback on the answer with the times: I added the photo from the homepage with the kitchens and opening times, it is also at the entrance on the door. It's a shame about the answer from the restaurant, I made a reservation the day before and I wasn't told about an exception and I didn't want one, I could have done without it instead of getting such bad service and such bad food. It's not our fault that the employees have been standing in the hot kitchen since 9 a.m. I come from the catering industry myself, so the fault clearly lies with the owner. We wouldn't stand in the kitchen for 15 hours. And unfortunately her statement is very reminiscent of the waiter that we should come earlier at “regular times” sorry I’m not laughing. As long as you accept orders and customers, the service and quality should be the same as if I were the first customer!!!

I go to the restaurant to eat something that I can't cook myself. I don't go out to buy status. This restaurant has nothing to offer culinary-wise. Fish soup has more seafood than fish, something like that is called seafood soup. In a fish soup you can't fit the leftovers from the buffet, because it tasted like it had matured into stinking boots. Pizza was mediocre. Prices far too high for little quality.

Tiramisu Tradizionale (as it says on the menu): without mascarpone, without amaretto, without ladyfingers. Unfortunately it doesn't work at all, which is why the dessert was very disappointing. In general, I would rework the entire dessert menu or at least not write it Traditionally because it's just not right. I have to say the food was really fantastic. The waiter was very personable and put us in a good mood. Big praise. There was limoncello on the house, well we left a huge sum there too :)! Otherwise the restaurant is very lively and loud.

Just for your Mediterranean fish soup 😍 it's worth visiting your place. If it wasn't always so "busy and restless", we would come more often

So eine Frechheit hatte ich in meinem Leben nie erlebt! Schlechter Service, halbe Stunde um einen Kaffee bestellen zu können! Viele Kellner und keiner kümmerte sich um uns. Wir haben wenig Trinkgeld gegeben und unser Kellner sagte in Italienisch wir sollen lieber niw wieder hingehen! Ich bon Italiener und habe es verstanden habe gefragt was das Problem war ind er sagte ich soll das Lokal verlassen!! Nie so eine Frechheit erlebt. Wenn mann Trinkgeld will, muss man es auch verdienen und vor allem kein Kellner darf zu einem Gast so sprechen!! Geht nie hin!!

A nice shop with a good atmosphere. The waiters are quick and friendly. The restaurant is very clean and large. There is a very pleasant atmosphere. Reservation definitely required, especially weekends. The food was good, the taste was very good. The price performance was okay. There's a lot to eat. The day tickets in particular offer a lot. Fish meat asparagus pasta... We go there often and we like it here. I deducted a star because my food was served lukewarm and because the taste of the starters was rather standard. Dessert was just okay too. Wine selection is large.

The food was good - the waiter was terrible. In itself a nice restaurant, with good Italian food. Unfortunately, we probably had the unfriendly waiter in the whole store. When we wanted to split the bill at the end, the gentleman, who was already rather short and slightly annoyed, became rude. When we ordered the bill, we specifically said that we had to split it. However, after he didn't listen to us and ran straight to print the bill, he came with a receipt and accused us of "we should have told us that beforehand" - if he had listened to us, he would have known. After a discussion, it was suddenly time to split the receipts. By the way, it's unfortunate if you, as a guest, notice yourself complaining to your colleague about your guests. Visibly annoyed, he then came with two receipts and threw the EC device in my hands. Until then I still had a tip in cash in my hand, but after this action it went back into my wallet. I come from the service sector myself and when the service is good I like to tip generously - but not for something like this. By the way, we were also accused of not giving a tip - even though we would have paid the second bill with a tip - but here he simply stopped listening and didn't type the tip either. We were there for the first and last time. The two stars are only because the food was okay and we (apart from the waiter) had a good evening.

Wir sind über die aufmerksame Bedienung und das fantastisch leckere Essen mehr als begeistert und bereuen keinen einzigen Cent, denn das war uns dieses kulinarische Erlebnis wert. Das man hier einen Tisch reservieren muss, bestätigt den Erfolg dieses Lokals, das mit liebevoller Hand in allen Bereichen punktet.

... und lange nicht mehr so gut bedient worden! Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter boten perfekten Service und schafften eine geradezu familiäre, vertraute Atmosphäre. Dass die Speisen und Getränke für uns vier ein absoluter Hochgenuss waren, setzte dem Ganzen die Krone auf! Wir werden in jedem Fall wiederkommen, das lohnt sich auch bei zig Kilometern Anfahrt. Was there for dinner on November 1st, 2024. I ordered pasta with seafood and my wife ordered spaghetti with vongule, unfortunately there was sand from the mussels in both dishes, which can also happen. We had both dishes returned and once we received new pasta with seafood and once instead of new vongole only spaghetti with aglio e olio, when we had paid we were still charged for spaghetti vongole even though we had it returned. I then called the waiter's attention and said that I had sent the spaghetti back from vongole. Then was the answer. And what should I do now? Apparently he didn't believe us and went to the other waiter and asked, who then confirmed this. Despite his unfriendliness, I still gave him a tip, but he then gave it back to me. Once and never again in this restaurant.

Never experienced such an unfriendly waiter!!!! When we wanted to drink something, the waiter was immediately annoyed because we didn't order anything to eat. When we wanted to pay by card instead of cash, he rolled his eyes! - I'll never go there again, what a disgrace. I would have preferred to leave without paying.

Today, on this sunny day and in a good mood to have a drink and leave money in the restaurant, we were turned away relatively rudely by the waiter, who said that there was only room for guests who *really* wanted to eat. Restaurants make their biggest profits with drinks. No interest was shown in an alternative solution - perhaps we didn't look like a very large clientele to the waiter... What a shame! ☹️

Italian restaurant with a wonderful outdoor area. Sitting in the backyard on a huge covered terrace in the middle of Cologne is a rarity. Very wonderful for the summer. The food is absolutely tasty. The fish was prepared very tasty. The salad came Unfortunately it came to me without any dressing, which I don't appreciate, even if there is vinegar and oil on the table. I just like it a little more sophisticated. The pizza is great. The staff has everything under control and the kitchen doesn't get disturbed even by a full house. Unfortunately, the parking situation is a bit tense. There are own parking spaces but they are full These are not sufficient at home.

We came to this restaurant with great expectations and were unfortunately disappointed on every level. The food is rather below average. Nothing special. There is nothing authentically Italian if (according to the waiter) the carbonara is made with cream. My pasta sauce barely had any flavor. No spices whatsoever. The pizza is not crispy at all, the cheese tastes very cheap, so the whole dish tastes like nothing. The consistency of the dough is just sticky. The price is clearly too high for that. This especially applies to drinks. 8€ for a bottle of water that costs 4-6€ in any other place. The waiters run past you all the time. I was really stressed while eating because this stress was also conveyed by the staff. There's probably a certain lack of organization there. The number of guests has no explanation given that there are so many staff. You have to speak to 3-4 waiters, who then all ignore you or say "no time" until you can express your concerns. It's incredibly loud, so much so that you have to shout over to your companion at the table. Conversation is hardly possible. Unfortunately we won't be coming back. I would even go so far as to say it was one of my worst restaurant experiences in Cologne. Unfortunately, I absolutely don't understand all the positive comments and the romanticization (especially by seemingly regular guests). _________________ Regarding your answer: 1. I asked your waiter if this was made with cream. He told us, "Of course, with cream. It doesn't taste good without it either. Either order with it or something else." So I ordered something else. So your employees are not familiar with the courts? If you were to read the comments instead of directly attacking and accusing your guests of lying, you would have seen that just a few months ago another guest was served carbonara with cream. (Last time even 1 month ago). It's unbelievable how people can lie about ingredients. 2. You can write reviews a few days after the visit, or even months afterwards. You can probably see your dishes in the photo. By the way, we were there on Saturday. I can upload the receipt. 3. I find it shocking how unobjectively you deal with criticism and show no competence or ambition to improve the visit for your guests. In fact, with your passive aggressive response, you only confirmed the impression about this restaurant. I think this gives future visitors a good insight into the hospitality at your establishment. I actually enjoy writing reviews, which is exactly what the platform is for. This also gives me a good comparison to other restaurants. If you can't handle it and instead have to stalk my profile and spread false (even criminal) accusations to feel better, then unfortunately that's your problem.

A local classic and one of the most popular Italian restaurants in the area. This is mainly due to the friendly atmosphere, great service, variety of dishes and the expanding floor plan, including a beautiful terrace in the back. They also have ample parking space there. Food is solid, but nothing to write home about, especially for an Italian place in Cologne. Prices have increased a bit too much in the past years in relation to the overall experience.

I was very happy when I was there 2 years ago, but yesterday we and our guests were treated rudely. Despite all my kindness to them, some of them were too rude to treat a woman, let alone a customer. Because I was completely blind and we accidentally bumped into a waiter. The coffee in his hand spilled a little, I politely apologized, but I was looked at angrily for it. Nice place but with too much decoration

Clearly room for improvement We were very lucky because we got a place for the Italy game 2 hours before the game started and we were very happy. Once we were there, we knew why we got a spot. Nobody was interested in this game, neither the guests nor the service. The food was mediocre. We've eaten much, much better in Cologne many times - all tables were supposed to be reserved - but when we left, these tables were still not occupied. At around 7:00 p.m. the Lindenthaler Hot Volet arrived and then the service only had an eye for them. This doesn't have to happen again.

Typically Cologne... a little loud, a little cramped... food used to be better, but still good... if you like Italian lively with local color, this is the place for you.

One of the best Italians in the west of Cologne. The selection is great and there are always exciting dishes on the daily menu. Service is also very good and knows every dish. It's very nice to sit in and feels a bit like you're in Italy. Not cheap but fair for the quality. We always enjoy coming back, so we definitely recommend it!

Very good and tasty restaurant on Dürener Straße. A great fresh food counter with antipasti and maritime delicacies. The pizza is really Italian and impresses with its delicious taste. The prices are normal for Lindenthal and the quality does justice to the prices.

If you want good, fresh food, Culinarius in Cologne is your choice. Here you get a changing menu with absolutely fresh dishes. There were different bread variations with olive oil in advance.😍 I had Iberico Krone with spinach and potatoes, simply delicious. For dessert there was Zuppa Inglese, a dream. The prices are a little higher but more than fair for what you get. The service was great, always quick to say and very accommodating! Absolute recommendation.

That was ok, but not really great either: the egg in the carbonara was set, so I basically had scrambled eggs with noodles in it. My own at home are better.

We wanted to go out for a nice meal in Cologne in the evening. We tested our options via Google and this restaurant was considered an insider tip. We were also lucky to get two more places. Food 10/10 Staff 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 We ate there after a tiring day and had to admit that it really made our day. For the first time in years we were served delicious food. As a starter we had a salad, which we really enjoyed, even if it was a bit overpriced for a salad. But it was more than delicious, just like the food and the tiramisu we had at the end. I can only recommend it and thank the staff again.

Sehr guter Service! Das Personal geht sehr freundlich auf die Wünsche der Gäste ein. Das Essen hat seinen Preis, ist aber auch sehr gut. Und außerdem haben wir eine typisch italienische Atmosphäre erlebt. Gerne wieder!
