Edited Restaurant located next to the famous Chilehaus building, a small restaurant with wooden tables and benches, very traditional in style. The extensive menu offers a good variety of local specialties. Two people ate. I ordered grünkohl, a typical dish prepared in winter. It includes cooked kale, a type of smoked sausage, cooked bacon, and a piece of pork. It is accompanied by mustard and roasted potatoes with onions and bacon. A hearty dish; the cabbage was a little salty, the meats were quite good, and the potatoes were very tasty. The other dish we ordered was schnitzel with mushroom sauce, a breaded pork steak with a spoonful of sauce and a heaping pile of frozen potatoes. Summary: Decent dishes, good meats at the grünkhol Price: Grünkhol €16.90, schnitzel €12.90, large water €5.50 Rating: 7.3

We were pleasantly surprised. Similar establishments are often rather mediocre. But the food served here is extremely tasty. We'll be back. PS: You should reserve a table.

A real insider tip: We were thrilled! The food was absolutely delicious - the selection on the menu is small, but every dish here is really good. Quality over quantity! The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and warm - even when dealing with children. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the child-friendly atmosphere. The restaurant itself is rather small, but furnished with great attention to detail. The decoration, especially the pictures, give the whole thing a very special charm. Price-performance is really great here - you get really good quality at fair prices. Our tip: Be sure to reserve in advance and see for yourself.

The map is small but nice. The food is great. The salad, the burger and the schnitzel are very tasty. This is a small and fine, middle-class restaurant. The landlady and the innkeeper are very nice. We are happy to recommend and if we travel to Hamburg again we would be happy to come back. Thank you very much for the great dinner on our last evening in Hamburg.

Discovered by chance during our visit to Hamburg and was lucky. We were able to reserve a table for 9 people at short notice. We were warmly welcomed by the two ladies and looked after during our stay. A cozy little restaurant, a bit out of time, that's what makes it so charming. The menu is small and offers good home-style cuisine. Everything was very, very tasty. The fried potatoes and schnitzel were great. The homemade apple pancakes are a poem. And Grandma Etta's Klötenköm is awesome. Thanks for the nice time. We'll be back.

The restaurant in the Sprinkenhof is located not far from the Speicherstadt (Warehouse District) and St. James' Church in Hamburg, yet quietly on a side street. Authentic old German cuisine is served here – a delight that seems like something out of a picture book. The food was simply delicious, and the presentation left nothing to be desired. The generous portions represent fair value. The staff, led by the owner, were extremely friendly, reliable, and accommodating.

Incredible meal, great hospitality, all in a very homely, authentic cosy environment. Had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce and it was the best I’ve had. Sauerkraut was really nice too. If you arrive and it is busy, maybe hang around for 10 minutes until another table is cleared so that you can be seated.

The restaurant is quite inconspicuous from the outside and quaint on the inside. The backyard is a great place to sit and enjoy the food. You should definitely try the schnitzel when you visit, and the accompanying fries are spicy, crunchy and delicious!

Wow. I love Hamburg and since yesterday also this quaint, cozy restaurant. Here you get honest food like homemade meatballs in a bun (super burger), very tasty fried potatoes, fries also very tasty, pork schnitzel, very tender, didn't taste like a deep fryer, but tasted and looked as if they were prepared in a pan. Delicious pepper cream sauce. Nice service and chef. My special request for a smaller portion was accommodated. Thank you again. A real feel-good place. The many positive reviews here are appropriate. If we come back to Hamburg, we'll come here too!

Since I'm already in Hamburg, I definitely wanted to try the "infamous Labkaus". The dish was very clearly presented, the portion was okay and I really enjoyed it. The service is friendly and seems likeable. The prices for drinks are normal. A very rustic interior, also with a long counter. Unfortunately, it will be difficult for wheelchair users to enter the restaurant from the inside and the toilets can only be reached via steps. Still a great place

I personally am a more a foodie than anything, could care less about the service or atmosphere. Was below average food for even an American-German restaurant. Fries were very fresh but the meat was too thick and chewy, breading was burnt around the edges. The service was great and the staff are very sweet, but food is number one for me.

I entered this restaurant with a friend not knowing what to expect, despite the late hour. 3pm and without a reservation, the lady who served the tables welcomed us well, was friendly and polite, which is absolutely typical for Hamburgers. The food was served quickly and very tasty, the price was affordable and nothing scary. I recommend this establishment and already plan to come back.

We stayed at the Sprinkenhof with a small group of colleagues, based on a recommendation. Since the restaurant is small, we reserved a table because there was still a mass event in Hamburg. The restaurant in the Sprinkenhof has a great charm, the whole thing is topped by the staff. Silke, our service person, knows how to deal with customers, her warm nature and humor are outstanding. The food is really very tasty. Here we cook our own food and value good ingredients. If the ingredients are not of the appropriate quality, then the dish does not exist either. I ordered the large portion of Labskaus, which was too much even for me. The panfish was also highly praised. As a dessert (if something else fits in!) I would recommend the pancakes. If you want something strong: the eggnog pudding has it all Absolute recommendation if you want to eat authentic food close to the city. Prices are absolutely fair for the quality.
