Very good location. Friendly and quick service and extensive menu, delicious food. We were very satisfied and stayed there several times during our vacation.

I wanted to take some ice cream with me for my children. When I asked the price for a ball, it said €2 per ball. We then ordered a total of 5 balls in a cup for three children. When I billed it (I had expected €10) it said €16.30. When I asked, I was told that the chocolate sauce costs €2.10 each (!!!). So more than a scoop of ice cream. This is an absolute disgrace!!! You can't expect something like that.

Attractively furnished Italian-Mediterranean restaurant at the upper end of the beach promenade with a beautiful sea view and a good selection of Mediterranean dishes, especially various pizzas. During the day you can also eat waffles, cakes and ice cream here. We had dinner here without prior reservation and were warmly welcomed and served. The paccheri with sea bream ragout tasted good, but could have contained a little more fish. Unfortunately, the fried cod wasn't crispy, but the spaghetti aglio e olio and the pea cream tasted good. The selection of open wines and bottled wines is fine. We generally liked it here and would love to come back again.

We were at Cornelius with a larger group. Unfortunately we got our food at completely different times. Our table had to wait over 1.5 hours even though we had small children with us. Other tables that came after us had their food sooner, which was particularly annoying. No apologies from the restaurant. No recommendation!!!

We went there spontaneously after a long walk. I can't comment on the food as we only had something to drink. However, I can rate the very attentive service and the wonderful ambience as very positive. The dishes at the neighboring tables looked very tasty, we would like to try them on our next visit.

Very friendly service, even late in the evening after the "normal" meal time. Large selection that sounded very good. Unfortunately, I had imagined my choice to be something completely different: fried cod, which unfortunately wasn't crispy at all but very spongy. But I generally liked it and my husband really enjoyed it.

Four of us went here for dinner. Definitely better with reservation. We all really enjoyed the food, from pizza to pasta. A Baileys sundae was ok, ice cream was good, unfortunately the Baileys portion was very manageable. Too bad. Since we were there in the evening, the view wasn't important 😆 but the location is of course good 👍 we'd love to come back! 😎

Das Essen war eine Enttäuschung. Wir saßen noch nicht mal 10 Minuten da war das Essen schon auf dem Tisch . Vorspeise und Hauptgericht kamen zusammen. Die Pasta schwamm im Wasser , der Lachs und das Gemüse zur Pasta waren nur gedämpft. Kein Geschmack. Die Pizza war nicht frisch zubereitet. Alles in allen war das ganze Essen eine Zumutung . Wir haben zur Hälfte zurückgegeben, bei Nachfrage des Kellners , meinte er nur , da kann ich nichts machen. Ich koche hier nicht .

Unfortunately the calzone came differently than ordered, namely with sausage instead of without. Then a second one was quickly fabricated. It was still raw on the inside. Nothing was offered for the double failure... then we left it alone and went to another restaurant. If the food and service are good, next time I'd like more points.

The Cornelius is a really nice restaurant. I've been to Norderney several times but I didn't necessarily have this restaurant on my radar, but that will change now.

Pizza and pasta like in Italy. Very tasty and very good. Since it is often very crowded, a reservation is recommended.

As always or every year a must. Absolutely recommended. Very nice staff, the food is always a dream. No matter whether soup, salad, pizza or fish. Tried everything and every time it was a pleasure. Price performance fits. Today it was salad and a pizza Magaritha. We'll meet Again. I'm looking forward to it.

Solide Küche, Pizza und Calzone gut, Pasta etwas laff und wässerig. Preise für die Lage absolut in Ordnung, tolle Aussicht direkt am Strand, Drinks auf der Terrasse genießen mit Windschutz.

The Cornelius on Norderney is the perfect place with a view of the sea! Popular with many, so reservations are advisable. The relaxed atmosphere and the pleasant guests, as there are no large groups, make the visit particularly pleasant. Simply great for drinks, coffee, waffles and delicious pasta in the evening - absolutely recommended for any time of day.

Super nice location and delicious food. However, once again the service was extremely unfriendly and inflexible. So we were there for the last time.

Hot-headed boss who hit on us straight away at the beginning. Incompetent service that doesn't even know the different types of beer or the password for the guest WiFi. The food was okay to bland. The German language doesn't seem to be a priority here. And of course there are problems and complaints if you want to pay by card. So a clear NOT recommendation.

Lage bei Sonnenuntergang unbezahlbar. Pizza okay, Pasta nicht empfehlenswert. Service schlecht, kann mit Rückfragen nicht umgehen. Chefin sehr unfreundlich. Zahlung nur bar, weil angeblich WLAN nicht funktioniert - seltsamerweise war am Nachbartisch Kartenzahlung möglich. Keine Empfehlung.

Location + Lage sind gut. Essen (Pizza) war sehr sparsam belegt (Spinat Gorgonzola). Service hat sich Mühe gegeben. Besitzerin: No go - eine Italienerin die kein Ramazzotti Glas kennt unvollstellbar + Beschiss mit einem anderen Glas ohne Mengenstrich ! Und dann wenn man sich beschwert ist auf einmal das WLAN ausgefallen und man soll bar bezahlen!!! Nie wieder. Schade die Lage vom Lokal ist echt top aber die Prima Donna ist ein no go !

You look at the toilets... then you don't feel the need to look into the kitchen. What a guest is expected to do is shocking.

Unfriendly waiter, very long waiting time. Apparently we had been forgotten at first. When we asked after half an hour, they said, "I'll bring you the food as soon as the kitchen releases it." When we asked again, they said, "You can leave if it takes too long for you." After almost an hour the starter arrived. At other tables, guests who arrived later had long since had their food. The pizza wasn't hot and a bit chewy. The pork fillet with porcini mushroom sauce was also tough. Conclusion: We won't eat here again.

Drink a cappuccino and look at the sea... smell the sea air... the sun on your face... priceless. The food is also really recommendable, as we have now found out. You can stop by here often.

We were on holiday and we always had dinner in this very welcoming place, friendly staff and above all the friendly and helpful owners for all our requests... the restaurant is facing the sea, a beautiful place... well done Cinzia and Fulvio.

We always go there 1.2 times when we visit the island, it's a great place to stay whether inside or outside. The food is great, at moderate prices. The service is very friendly and super attentive. Feel free to go there 😊

The food and the ambience were quite good. I would like to give -1 star for the so-called “service”. First we were completely ignored for 20 minutes. When someone got lost, their ignorance was rewarded with an extremely unfriendly sentence. “Do you want to order now or I’ll go back?” The wrongly prepared pizza can of course happen, but it fit the picture. Just like completely carelessly prepared children's plates, During the meal, we weren't even asked about new drinks, let alone whether we could have dessert after the meal. The empty plates were on the table for about 20 minutes. All in all, you felt very unwelcome and unwanted.

We arrived at lunchtime and all had different dishes. Pizza, canneloni and rigatoni. The pizza dough was probably a bit very stiff, but the topping was delicious. The rigatoni was OK. The cannelloni was very tasty. The service was friendly!

We enjoyed it very much. Starter, main course and dessert. You definitely have to try the panna cotta! Was with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fruit. The ice cream is homemade!

We were in the restaurant a few days ago. We just wanted to have a cocktail 🍸 in the evening after visiting the beach. We decided to sit outside and the waiter took us to a seat. Afterwards we waited for a waiter for over a quarter of an hour, everyone just looked at us until someone finally came. Afterwards we were treated so unkindly by the waitress (mid-50s, short black hair). Not very nice.

The ambience is very good. The food too! However, the whole thing was marred somewhat by a seagull incident. There was a clap and the seagull was on our table next to the plate. The waiter initially didn't want to wipe it away, only after repeated requests. "His comment was just: 'Next time please take a table inside.' The appetite was definitely dampened at first! The seagull on the parasol also stayed put, so we went to another table and back again. Only when the seagull flew away were we able to enjoy our food. We had a bad feeling that something had ended up on the plate... Service looks a little different! Oh yes, we reserved by email but never received an answer! I found it strange because some people probably wouldn't make a reservation by phone... But ok, the visit to Cornelius was a “special kind of experience”!

In short: simply great! Mega attentive service that is friendly and on the ball across the board. Food was super delicious: my recommendation was the sea bream with spaghetti aglio olio & the pizza A must for us when we are on the island.

Others can dress warmly! Top cuisine (sea bream and spaghetti) well prepared, very attentive service and yet you take your time to eat. A blessing for the island of Norderney!

The location and the ambience are great. However, everything else wasn't so optimal. At first the starter was very expensive but also tasty and the portion was very generous. Afterwards we were somewhat disappointed by an extremely long wait for the food of around 50 minutes. Apparently we were somehow forgotten. It has to be said that the restaurant was full and the waiters really tried hard. I'm afraid they were understaffed and I don't expect this to happen often. Unfortunately, when we got the food it was only lukewarm. Nevertheless, I am convinced that all of this was an exception and I would recommend the restaurant just for the view. Then maybe when there's not so much going on.

We ended our last day of vacation there on July 22nd, 2024 and can't complain like others. The service came quickly and was also friendly. The order went smoothly and the food and cocktails we ordered came promptly. For dessert we had teramisu and panna cotta, which was delicious. From the terrace you can marvel at the North Sea.

Underground service! On July 22nd, 24, we entered the restaurant's terrace shortly before 6:00 p.m. with 5 adults and one child; there was a sufficiently large table available. The evening began as usual, drinks were ordered, followed by starters and main courses. The drinks came quickly, the starters at around 6:30 p.m. After that, time passed... and continued to pass. At around 7:15 p.m. we asked our waitress where the main courses would be. After a surprised look, he looked at his order terminal and stammered something about "in 5 to 10 minutes". At around 7:30 p.m. we asked again where the food was, we were again put off with the phrase “in 5-10 minutes”. At around 7:45 p.m. one of us entered the restaurant and reported to the counter, politely but firmly demanding the food. You can guess the answer: "Coming in 5-10 minutes." By the way, main courses were served at the tables around us, with very different waiting times. Shortly before 8 p.m., food was delivered to our table directly next door, which had only been ordered after we had complained. I then told the waitress that we had ordered 2 hours ago and that we couldn't accept it anymore. I chose the volume so that the surrounding guests could hear in order to increase the pressure accordingly. The waitress reacted "angry": "What do you want from me, I'm just the boy here! It's not my fault!" I then asked the boss and the waitress asked me to come to the restaurant with me, which I did. When the boss came out of the kitchen he shouted at me in Italian, I couldn't understand him. I then also told him screaming that we would be leaving his restaurant straight away without any further ado. On the way out my wife met me; 4 of the 6 main courses had just been served. Since everyone was very hungry by now, we decided to eat and the missing dishes arrived at short notice. Our waitress visibly tried to defuse the situation. After eating the food, we were about to pay when the next big thing happened: Another waitress came to our table and called me an “asshole”. I don't think this needs any further comment, I have never encountered such subterranean behavior from service staff. The way “our” waiter looked at his colleague spoke volumes; he also seemed shocked. Conclusion: The service is largely incompetent and they are unable to process orders in the order they are ordered. When you get your food is a pure gamble. Criticism and complaints are not only responded to inappropriately, people literally freak out. I can only advise everyone to visit one of the many other restaurants on Norderney, whether the visit to Cornelius is a success depends on chance.

DISRESPECTFUL SERVICE. Three days ago we visited the restaurant together with my family and my parents. My father wanted to order a dish that the waitress couldn't understand acoustically. Instead of asking, she just shook her head. When asked why she was doing this, she replied: "You are unfriendly." The operation itself was hardly understandable because she didn't speak German. We pointed out that such behavior is completely unacceptable in the catering sector. This way of dealing with guests is simply disrespectful and inappropriate. A special greeting goes to the unfriendly waitress (black hair, mid-50s) we have ever experienced. We definitely cannot recommend this restaurant.

Nice view of the North Sea while eating. Eating outside becomes a matter of luck because of the seagulls. Otherwise everything is tip-top. Card payment possible. However, the ice cream parlor on the building is too artificial for me.

Liebe freunde der Gastronomie, Ihre Zwiebelsuppe bedarf der geschmacklichen Überprüfung. Es fehlte Salz und Pfeffer, einschuss Weißwein mehr möchte ich nicht verraten. Bei der Sauce Hollandaise ,die ist nicht fertig wenn man die Tüte auf macht und warm stellt.Der Geschmack würde sich verbessern lassen, mit Salz und Pfeffer Zitrone Weißwein und Kräuter

The ambience is hard to beat, but if the food is in front of you in less than 5 minutes and is there before the drinks, then the food has a bit of the feel of a Drive Inn near the Golden Seagull. The staff is friendly, but not very obliging and eager to get things done quickly. The food was really tasty and the price was completely okay, but a special request when ordering was unfortunately not taken into account. Overall 4 stars with a few weaknesses. But I would eat there again at any time.
