If you need a break from the beach and a quick bite to eat, this is a great spot.

We ordered three different pasta dishes, and all three were delicious and reasonably priced. The money here comes from drinks. €6 for a non-alcoholic wheat beer was quite steep.

There were four of us there, and all the dishes were perfect. So tastefully prepared, simply amazing. The ambiance is also unique, and the location is right by the sea.

An absolutely fantastic restaurant right by the sea with an outstanding view. The food is fresh and tastes fantastic. We've rarely had such delicious Italian food. The menu is very varied. The staff are friendly and child-friendly. Always worth a visit.

Today, on our first day on Norderney (two families with children aged 5 to 9), we wanted to spend a nice and, above all, relaxing evening after a long journey by train and ferry. The children got their food relatively quickly, but unfortunately, we adults had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. Other tables that arrived after us had their food earlier and had even paid by then. Our inquiries were dismissed with a curt "coming right away." In the end, it became obvious that our order had simply been "missed" several times. Unfortunately, when the food finally arrived, we couldn't really enjoy it anymore, as the children were already really tired by 9:50 p.m. I don't expect huge discounts, but the fact that they don't accommodate them in any way (free drinks for the kids, a scoop of ice cream, or at least the "standard Ramazotti") demonstrates very little "guilt consciousness." The food is absolutely fine, the location is lovely, but the many tables create an extremely loud atmosphere. Unfortunately, it wasn't a really successful evening for us.

The staff and manager are very friendly, and the sausages are almost always available. We'd be happy to come back. We often eat there when we're on Ney Island.

Food as if bought ready and just warmed up

We have been visiting this restaurant regularly for over 20 years and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, we were disappointed on our last visit: The fish dish we ordered was a disgrace for the high price – about 90% was tomatoes in the sauce, while there were only 2-3 small pieces of fish "hidden" in it. The other dishes were also poorly presented and, both visually and taste-wise, were more reminiscent of a cafeteria buffet. We've definitely grown accustomed to this from previous years! Too bad – this was unfortunately our last visit for the time being.

I ate here twice and was very satisfied both times! Both the pizza and the pasta dish were delicious and plentiful. On our second visit, we had a reservation for 19 people, which wasn't a problem. They had prepared several tables for us in a quiet corner. I particularly liked the incredibly fast preparation of our meals, despite the large group and full house! The staff was always very friendly and attentive. The restrooms (basement) were clean, and there's a large changing table above the stairs. Highly recommended restaurant!

We've been to Norderney several times on holiday and always enjoy coming back. Great, very friendly staff and delicious, authentic Italian food. The prices could be a bit cheaper, but unfortunately, that's the case all over the island 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Cornelius is truly beautifully located on the north beach. The terrace is inviting, with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea. Unfortunately, you have to expect long waits for service. It can take up to 30 minutes to place an order. Unfortunately, the pizza is only mediocre. The ingredients seem to be on the cheap side, and in my opinion, the price is too high.

The food was okay overall, but unfortunately nothing special. The tagliatelle with salmon wasn't very tasty. My mother had ordered a salad with extra feta cheese, but what she served was a fairly simple salad of iceberg lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers – along with a large amount of feta cheese, but not the feta cheese we ordered. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he unfortunately didn't react very kindly. After a rather unpleasant discussion, we didn't have to pay for the portion of cheese, but the situation was still anything but pleasant.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. While the location and view are beautiful, that alone isn't enough. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before anyone even came, and then we had to wait a full 1.5 hours for our food. Nothing was cleared, and there was no further service at the table. It all happens sometimes and it's no big deal, but you can always say a word or generally establish some kind of contact with the guest if there's a staffing shortage. Unfortunately, everything felt extremely impersonal. It's a shame—we won't be coming back.

There were nine of us with a reservation. We were seated immediately, and at no point did we have to chase the waiter. The food was not just good compared to some other restaurants on the island, but really good in its own right, and at normal prices, as we'd experience on the mainland. In addition to the standard selection of some dishes, it was also possible to request additional changes to the dishes for an additional €2 charge.

Sorry, unfortunately a disaster, apparently we had a really bad day. 2 adults, a small child. The reserved table was gone, even though we were on time to the minute and had called especially for advice, but the replacement table was fine. We ordered 2 pizzas and a child's portion of spaghetti. The food for the little one arrived after about 20 minutes, which was fine and she really liked it. Then the problems unfortunately started. Despite repeated requests, our food arrived a full 30 minutes later. But at least we got it, unlike the straw for the little one. My spinach pizza was fine, but my wife's calzone was unfortunately a disaster. Quite dark on the outside, unfortunately still partly cold on the inside and the grated cheese hadn't even begun to melt. Perhaps the oven was set too hot. We then complained, but since you can't put a calzone back in the oven, we were offered a cancellation, but we just wanted something to eat. The bottom line is, I gorged myself on pizza because my wife was hungry, my child was full, impatient, and tired; my mood was ruined. Unfortunately, even the free scoop of ice cream for the little one didn't help. Bottom line: my wife has to put the little one to bed when she's hungry, and yes, there are stressful evenings in the restaurant industry, but honestly, it can still be done much better. I don't like being told that it's better for my child if she eats alone half an hour before us, rather than with us half an hour later. Thanks for the tip. P.S., no, sharing wasn't an option; my wife absolutely doesn't like my pizza.

Best pizza and ice cream on the island so far.

Best Italian restaurant on the north beach! Even when the restaurant and terrace are full, the service is always friendly and the food is always top-notch! The pizza is small and doesn't taste particularly good. The price is very high. Unfriendly service for children. They're trying to make a lot of money quickly.

Great food and friendly service

We celebrated our wedding there last year with 25 people and now our first wedding anniversary with around 12 people. The food was, just like last time, absolutely delicious. I would have given the ambience a thumbs up if the air inside wasn't so stuffy at times. It's a shame, but it's not necessary that the boss isn't just at the table. I even asked the staff if he could come over to say thank you, etc., but he didn't even pass the word on, even though the boss was there.

On our first evening on Norderney, we ate here because we really wanted to enjoy the beautiful view, and we were served just that! The food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly! Highly recommended!

A great setting Food and drinks okay

Others can't wait to see what they're up to! Top-notch cuisine (sea bream and spaghetti) perfectly prepared, very attentive service, yet they take their time with the meal. A blessing for the island of Norderney! Update after 11 months: Very good food, top-notch meat, very attentive service.

We had redfish that was drowning in tomato sauce. My schnitzel was left in the fryer too long, and the cod was thickly breaded.

Unfortunately, not every waiter knows the menu – one day there's a super-delicious soda, the next day nobody knows anything about it. On two out of three visits, the waiter also seemed rather stressed and unflexible. Sure, it's a tourist spot, but with a little more enthusiasm for their job, the experience would be much more pleasant.

I haven't had such a good pizza in a long time. And for this atmosphere, the price and quality are 100% right. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I can only recommend it!

- trockene ungewürzte Pizza - Nudeln scheinen abgezählt (für 16 EUR 15 Nudeln) - Canelloni = 2 Stück in einer Schale mit etwas Soße für ca 15 Euro. Alles recht geschmacksneutral Service unterirdisch. Man wurde erst gar nicht bedient, dann wurde a) das falsche gebracht und b) bestelltes gar nicht serviert Mir scheint das Lokal nur gut besucht weil es nichts anderes gibt an diesem Standpunkt. Kann nur empfehlen 2 Häuser weiter zu gehen oder in der Stadt was zu suchen. Alternativ kann man sein Geld auch ins Meer werfen.

Delicious, delicious, and more delicious... we enjoyed pizza and oast pudding here. The pizza is super thin and very crispy, even our kids ate the entire crust. For dessert, we had ice cream and homemade tiramisu with a cappuccino. Everything was freshly prepared. We would definitely come back and can wholeheartedly recommend Cornelius. The service is very nice, competent, and friendly.

Man kann im Restaurant sehr schön mit Blick auf das Meer sitzen. Unser Essen war allerdings miserabel. Tagliatelle mit Lachs und Gemüse. Das Essen kam bereits wenige Minuten nach unserer Bestellung und war komplett ungewürzt. Die Lachsbröckchen (von Lachs kann man nicht wirklich reden) schmeckten wie längere Zeit warmgehalten. Frisch und schmackhaft geht anders. Echt schade.

The location is beautiful. Hence one star... Antipasti was unappetizing, and the Lugana cheese hadn't survived the trip to Norderney well. The address was quickly forgotten.

Right on the beach - food is very good - staff very friendly - cheap. Unfortunately, when the sun is low, you are very blinded. Sun protection would help.

Dear Cornelius team, We love crepes. Really. But what we were served was more of a “crêpe glacé”. On the first try, the good piece was so cold that we thought it was trying to quietly say “bonjour” to us from the fridge. But we remained optimistic - a second attempt, we thought, would definitely be better. Unfortunately, the crepe, including ice cream and cream, was only put in the microwave for a short time. Afterwards, only the bottom of the plate was warm, but more like a bright teenager: hot on the outside, still fast asleep on the inside. I'm sure you can do better. Maybe next time a fresh crepe straight from the plate instead of a French hot water bottle version? But the view was good... With humorous greetings Edwin

Unfortunately, after the starter we had to wait over an hour for the main course (a pizza + pasta each). After 30 minutes and the first question, we were told “immediately”. After another 30 minutes and a second request, the two dishes arrived shortly afterwards. The food was very good, but in my opinion such waiting times (with half the table in the restaurant) are not possible.

Italian food with a view of the North Sea. The food is delicious, the staff is attentive and very friendly. Prices are appropriate for the overall package, starter, main course and drinks between €30 and €40 per person.

So far I haven't found the right food here, so I would say it's okay to good... Cocktails were okay but also different in strength on different days and sometimes more or less decorated... The food is beautifully presented, but the taste has room for improvement (at least that is my feeling) But what is highly recommended is the chocolate cake :-). The tiramisu is supposed to be good too (at least that's what I heard) Service is fine so far, but I can imagine that in high season the staff is a bit stressed and there are delays Toilets OK The view is very beautiful The atmosphere could be a little more comfortable...

We were here twice during our short vacation. The service is great and the food is very tasty. We were here once with six people and everyone was very satisfied. We would come again and again!

10/10 experience! We've been going to Norderney for years and this restaurant never disappoints. The food tastes great, very friendly service and the view is fantastic. And first the tiramisu... I can only recommend a visit to everyone!

I wanted to take some ice cream with me for my children. When I asked the price for a ball, it said €2 per ball. We then ordered a total of 5 balls in a cup for three children. When I billed it (I had expected €10) it said €16.30. When I asked, I was told that the chocolate sauce costs €2.10 each (!!!). So more than a scoop of ice cream. This is an absolute disgrace!!! You can't expect something like that.

Attractively furnished Italian-Mediterranean restaurant at the upper end of the beach promenade with a beautiful sea view and a good selection of Mediterranean dishes, especially various pizzas. During the day you can also eat waffles, cakes and ice cream here. We had dinner here without prior reservation and were warmly welcomed and served. The paccheri with sea bream ragout tasted good, but could have contained a little more fish. Unfortunately, the fried cod wasn't crispy, but the spaghetti aglio e olio and the pea cream tasted good. The selection of open wines and bottled wines is fine. We generally liked it here and would love to come back again.

We were at Cornelius with a larger group. Unfortunately we got our food at completely different times. Our table had to wait over 1.5 hours even though we had small children with us. Other tables that came after us had their food sooner, which was particularly annoying. No apologies from the restaurant. No recommendation!!!

We went there spontaneously after a long walk. I can't comment on the food as we only had something to drink. However, I can rate the very attentive service and the wonderful ambience as very positive. The dishes at the neighboring tables looked very tasty, we would like to try them on our next visit.

Ein netter Familienabend, mit Freunden haben wir uns zu einem Geburtstagsessen getroffen, bestellt quer über die Speisekarte, von Minestrone, Vitello tonato, Caprese, Pizzabrot, unterschiedliche Pizzen und Pasta, alles lecker, einzig das Tiramusu war relativ kompakt und nicht so fluffig, der Service sehr aufmerksam und sehr bemüht, danke hierfür.

Very friendly service, even late in the evening after the "normal" meal time. Large selection that sounded very good. Unfortunately, I had imagined my choice to be something completely different: fried cod, which unfortunately wasn't crispy at all but very spongy. But I generally liked it and my husband really enjoyed it.

Four of us went here for dinner. Definitely better with reservation. We all really enjoyed the food, from pizza to pasta. A Baileys sundae was ok, ice cream was good, unfortunately the Baileys portion was very manageable. Too bad. Since we were there in the evening, the view wasn't important 😆 but the location is of course good 👍 we'd love to come back! 😎

Das Essen war eine Enttäuschung. Wir saßen noch nicht mal 10 Minuten da war das Essen schon auf dem Tisch . Vorspeise und Hauptgericht kamen zusammen. Die Pasta schwamm im Wasser , der Lachs und das Gemüse zur Pasta waren nur gedämpft. Kein Geschmack. Die Pizza war nicht frisch zubereitet. Alles in allen war das ganze Essen eine Zumutung . Wir haben zur Hälfte zurückgegeben, bei Nachfrage des Kellners , meinte er nur , da kann ich nichts machen. Ich koche hier nicht .
