We were here exactly a year ago – and were very impressed. The ambiance is exceptionally good, and it's truly lovely at Columbus. The service was attentive but not quick. The menu is concise, featuring high-quality dishes. The portions aren't generous, and the meat dishes could easily be mistaken for appetizers at first glance. Main courses were cooked to perfection and very tasty – the side dishes were rather limited. The dessert, "French Toast," was a complete disappointment. It initially looked fantastic but turned out to be a fruit cocktail with a single scoop of ice cream drowned in alcohol and then creamed – a real shame. A few tiny breadcrumbs were rendered almost inedible by the excessive use of rum. Other customers in previous reviews raved about it – but their dessert looked completely different. It definitely didn't live up to the standard of the other dishes.

We’d stayed at Hotel Hafen a few times before and always loved their breakfast, so trying the restaurant felt long overdue. We got lucky with a quiet table by the window, looking out over the fjord, the kind of view that slows you down without asking. The dining room had that calm, steady rhythm that only comes from a place confident in what it does. Dinner was a flank steak with asparagus, broccoli, and a small cube of roasted potato, all arranged like someone actually cared. The meat was tender in that melt-under-your-fork way, though I found myself wishing for a little more of that smoky edge. Still, it was one of those meals that stays with you for its atmosphere more than its boldness. The selection of rum was surprisingly wide, a quiet nod to whoever curates their bar with such precision. It felt like a place that knows its strengths and doesn’t rush to prove them.

If you love fish soup, this one will ruin all others for you, it’s that good. The fish pan? Pure perfection, like someone bottled the taste of the sea and turned it into dinner. The daily special was seared tuna, cooked so precisely it almost felt wrong to eat it, but impossible not to. Paired with a crisp white wine from the house, everything just clicked. And that final touch, a rum recommended by someone who clearly knows their craft — sealed the night. Rarely does a meal feel this complete.

We had been here twice before and swore both times we’d never come back, mostly because of the service, not the food. But life’s funny that way; we gave it one last chance… and I’m so glad we did. The dishes were incredible, full of depth and care, like the kitchen finally found its voice. The young waiter looking after our table did such a wonderful job, warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. I wish I remembered his name, because he’s part of the reason this visit turned everything around. Looks like we’ve just become regulars after all.

I reserved a table for 5:30 PM on Friday, and it was absolutely outstanding again. From the excellent service to the top-notch food and ambiance to the drinks, it's highly recommended and simply a delight. See you soon.👍👍👍

The two of us went to Columbus for dinner for the first time. The food, from appetizer to dessert, was truly excellent in both quality and appearance. We had the three-course meal and were completely stuffed by the end. The only thing was that the table right by the kitchen/counter was a bit hectic.

We were thrilled. The food was incredibly delicious and the staff very polite and attentive. The ambiance was lovely. The prices weren't cheap, but they were very reasonable for the quality.

Outstanding service and fair prices. Main courses were really good. I didn’t enjoy brownie that much, nevertheless my friend was astonished by crème brule which he strongly recommends :)

Birthday We were a group of 10. Upon arrival, we were asked what occasion had brought us to the restaurant. The table was beautifully and harmoniously set. The staff gave us time to settle in. After a reasonable amount of time, we were asked for drinks. Then the menus were brought and the daily specials were presented. All questions about the dishes were competently explained. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was attentive yet very discreet. An all-round wonderful evening.

The food was truly delicious. If you're looking for a unique experience, it's definitely recommended. However, you sometimes have to wait quite a while for your order.

A good upscale restaurant with a clear menu that reflects your taste.

Strange service, horrible food Stay away from this place! We were surrounded by a lot of waiters, but they all were whimsing around completely incapable of doing what they were supposed to do. They came back and forth one after one to do what the last one had already done. Even though the waiters seemed unprofessional, we wanted to give the food a chance and decided to stay. We were four people, two of us ordered the "fish of the day", which was apperently 3 different fishes. Was then served a completly different fish then what we were told, (salmon, that none of us eat). When we complained the waiter just blamed someone else and did nothing to compensate. I had the fish soup (also with fish of the day) and it was so extremely sweet and salty I could not eat more than a few spoons even though I was really hungry. The last one in our company ordered the meatballs. They were grey and did not taste good either. She could not even finish one of them. All in all it was a very unpleasant and expensive visit, and we all left just as hungry as we came. We ended up going to a different restaurant later to get some real food. Do not waste your money here!

The highlight of our culinary visit to Flensburg, because everything here is just right: The decor is tasteful yet unique, the service is attentive yet naturally friendly, and the food is incredibly delicious and, contrary to all expectations, the portions are unusually large. We were thrilled!

Everything was delicious! Every dish clearly demonstrates the chefs attention to and understanding of flavor. Great view of the fjord too!

The food was good overall. However, the fish soup was too salty, same with the puree in the cauliflower main dish. Presentation and the quality of the dishes are of high standard. Also the service was a bit slower than normal, considering the restaurant was not busy.

Absolute recommendation. It might cost a euro more but it's absolutely worth it. Very cozy atmosphere and top staff.

Wow! We were treated to a three course culinary masterpiece from chef Lööck and his team. The salmon two ways was delicious; the pop of the caviar, the light citrusy tang of cured fish and the creaminess of the terrine brought the dish over the top. The main was just as exciting with a perfectly seared steak covered in a chicken farce and rolled in bread to then be buttered and finished off. Along with a rich buttery celeriac puree roasted asparagus and potato gratin. Last but not least when we had almost no room left in our stomaches dessert arrived. A chocolate lava cake, chocolate mousse and chocolate cinnamon ice cream sitting in a vanilla sauce with a rhubarb compost. Exquisite! The service and food was outstanding from start to finish.

I read about Columbus in Feinschmecker and really wanted to try the restaurant. I was so surprised by the food, it was like a poem. The service was very knowledgeable about the daily specials. We had 3 starters, herring tartare / Labskaus and a salad very good 👍 The main course was asparagus [Tuscan] with a 10 point hollondaise / wild garlic sauce and salmon (I was offered sea bass) and prawns, the potatoes were small and perfectly cooked whole. And a burger 🍔 For the bedside table there was Cremerrülle with (Bommelunder) plums and a Johannsen rum/raisin ice cream to sink your teeth into. In any case, I'll come back. I don't want to downplay it now and it is a hotel restaurant and certainly has its concept. Certainly few people come with coats, but an opportunity to hang them up would be great (in the end it was a closet in the back of the lobby) The menu was given straight away, but no one asked for drinks and when we ordered, the drink only came with the starter. I had ordered for 4 people, in the end there were only three of us, the fourth place setting with glasses was not cleared away. The chef Bodo Löck is a good addition to the house. Price was great, but a bit of a disadvantage for the performance and quality Which could easily be rated higher.

Already eaten here several times. The food is good and the menu is nicely put together. Not a ton of dishes, but perfectly balanced in quantity and guaranteed to have something for everyone. Priced in the upper class, but also what is on the table! I'll be back.

Wir sind sehr nett empfangen worden. Wir durften uns aussuchen, ob wir unseren Aufenthalt im Restaurant oder im ruhigeren Nebenraum verbringen wollten. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und hat uns die Gerichte auf der Tageskarte umfangreich präsentiert. Wir sind den Empfehlungen des Kellners gefolgt und Aperitif, Vorspeise, Hauptgericht und Dessert waren sehr gut abgestimmt und schmeckten vorzüglich. Unser Abend im Columbus war wunderbar. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Possibly the best restaurant in Flensburg and the Highest North

I would have preferred less chi-chi and more attention to the main product. Especially with the main course “Variations from Glückstädter Matjes” I would have more than postage stamp-sized pieces of matjes under each one A lot of sauce expected. The service was top and the atmosphere was inviting. The vegan main courses also fell short of expectations. Our steak fan was very satisfied.

A fine dining restaurant. Seafood is fresh and I really liked my rumsteak here.

Sehr schönes Restaurant, toller Service und super Essen.

Wir waren mal vor ca. 4-5 Jahre dort. Damals ein ganz besonderes kulinarisches sowie Service-Erlebnis. Beim gestrigen Besuch war der Wow-Effekt nicht da, weder beim Essen (3-Gänge-Menü, wobei die Fischsuppe sehr gut war) noch beim Service (zum Feierabend hin etwas unaufmerksam).

Columbus in Flensburg is always a good choice. Attentive and motivated staff… A wide-ranging menu leaves nothing to be desired. The presentation of the dishes is modern, and all the dishes ordered are of excellent quality!

Good food and wine, great service and nice ambience

Really a great restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and brought to the table straight after our jackets were taken away. Short welcome, good wine advice. Then there was some bread and a small, very tasty curry soup. The tomahawk steak that we had pre-ordered was cut up right at the table and was fried to perfection!!! As a small drawback, it shouldn't be cut and pressed on the vegetables like that, but all in all it was a very successful and really tasty meal. The Columbus is a clear recommendation from us, we will definitely eat there again, just because of the great, central location, with an excellent view of the fjord.

I had breakfast there with my girls and all I can say is that it was amazing, great selection, super tasty, fast and good service. Nowhere in Flensburg can you have such a good breakfast

Yesterday the four of us ate in your restaurant again. For the main course I ordered the chicken kikokhen with kohlrabi in cream, I was really looking forward to it, but when it came to the table and I took two bites of it, I noticed that there was bacon on it (it wasn't anywhere on the menu! ). I kindly pointed out to the service that I couldn't eat this because I have an allergy to pork...the service asked me to remake my dish again, this time without bacon. After 3 minutes I got the “new” dish (the chicken and the side dishes from my plate were slapped onto a new plate where there was still bacon stuck to the bottom of the chicken). From that moment on, the service gave us a wide berth and we didn't get around to telling her again that there was bacon on it again. It wasn't until half an hour later when I was clearing up that I was able to point this out and, as expected, I didn't receive a sincere apology. This wasn't our first time with you, but it's the second time we've left dissatisfied.

We were at the Columbus Genusswirtschaft as part of a seminar and I can only say positive things about the Columbus. The food is very, very good, the prices are reasonable, the staff is very friendly and helpful, a really great restaurant, right on the Flensburg harbor, paid parking spaces are right in front of the door.

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant did not meet all expectations. Available parking options are indicated on the website and in the menu. On site we were initially informed that the restaurant does not offer its own parking spaces. We were later informed that there was parking available - but it was several minutes away. The food also didn't live up to expectations. We definitely expected more for a restaurant in this price range! The dishes were okay, but not outstanding and absolutely not up to the high standard that the restaurant tries to convey. Unfortunately, the waiting times were also a big negative point. We had to wait far too long for our orders, which dragged out the whole evening and tested our patience. The operation could also be improved. The waitress who served us was rather unfriendly when asked and seemed pushy, which unfortunately spoiled the atmosphere a bit. Overall, our experience was mixed and didn't quite live up to the high expectations we had of the restaurant, so unfortunately only 2 out of 5 stars.

Ein gelungener Abend - in einem tollen Ambiente, Toller Service und ausgezeichnetes Essen. Gerne wieder

Wir gehen des Öfteren gern essen und wollten schon länger im Columbus einkehren. Unsere liebe Hündin durfte mit und wurde sofort sehr freundlich begrüßt. Nachdem uns der Aperitiv und ein Körbchen mot Brot und Dip serviert wurden, kam als nächstes die Vorspeisenvariation für 2, die wir wärmstens empfehlen können. Auch der Hauptgang (geschmorte Kalbsbäckchen und Hirschrücken mit Trüffelkruste) war sensationell gefolgt von einem krönenden Abschluss mit einer Creme Brulee. Wir sagen DANKE für dieses sehr leckere Essen, die nette Bewirtung und Freundlichkeit unserer Hunde-Omi gegenüber. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Essen war sehr lecker, allerdings stimmt die Abstimmung der Kellner untereinander nicht. „Haben Sie schon bestellt?“, Gruß aus der Küche erst zusammen mit der Vorspeise, Dessert kam vor dem Hauptgang, usw.

We celebrated a wedding anniversary with our two young children. They had the requested highchair for my toddler without issue and even provided coloring utensils for the children to busy themselves with. It was a quiet evening and the wait staff were very quick and polite. Food was very good and they have some of the best cocktails in Flensburg! The espresso martini was delicious and I have on a previous visit tried their whiskey sour which was also amazing. Whether you’re dining as a couple, with friends or with your family, this is a great restaurant here in Flensburg and we were very satisfied. Thank you!

Sehr gemütlicher Innenhof mit Heizstrahlern unter den Sonnenschirmen. Leckeres, sehr schön angerichtetes Essen und sehr freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service.

Got cold risotto with hot poorly seasoned fish. Expensive. Water from the tap 1 l costs 7 euros.

Great restaurant with delicious food and top service. On August 17, 2024, my husband and I had herring tartare with rösti or carrot-ginger-orange soup as a starter. Both delicious and very nicely prepared. The main course was the Flens burger or the Königsberger Klopse. The tastiest version of Königsberger Klopsen that I have ever eaten. Top! Flensburg isn't that great, but this restaurant is a top address. Absolute recommendation!

Wir haben uns extern zum Frühstücksbuffet in der Woche angemeldet und haben 25€ pro Person bezahlt inkl.aller Getränke. Das Buffet ist sehr umfangreich und lecker.Der Service war freundlich und sehr „auf Zack „. Die Atmosphäre in dem Restaurant war sehr schön arrangiert.Was mir persönlich besonders gefallen hat, war die ruhige Atmosphäre,keine lauten Kinder oder Personen.Das liegt aber auch sicherlich an den etwas gehobenen Standard. Kurz gesagt wir kommen wieder !

Tolles Essen, sehr guter Service. Ambiente passt. Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier und kommen zu besonderen Anlässen gern wieder. Preis-Leistung passte aus unserer Sicht ebenfalls. Alles frisch zubereitet, keine riesige Karte, aber für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei.

Wieder ein sehr netter Abend an der Flensburger Kaikante. Die Ochsenschulter war ein Gedicht. Der Primitivo hat das ganze abgerundet.

Insgesamt gut, aber nicht besser als anderswo. Essen qualitativ gut, schöne Atmosphäre, Bedienung etwas forsch.

Die Servicemitarbeiter waren dieses Mal leider sehr unaufmerksam. Wir haben zwanzig Minuten auf die Karten gewartet, um erst einmal wenigstens etwas zu trinken auszuwählen. Das Essen und die Bedienung die am Ende für unseren Tisch zuständig war waren aber einwandfrei! Es wirkt leider so, als wäre das Team insgesamt sehr heterogen in der Art und Weise mit Gästen umzugehen. Das hatten wir in bisherigen Aufenthalten im Hotel und Restaurant so nicht wahrgenommen und waren deshalb dieses Mal sehr enttäuscht.

Der Service und das Essen waren super. Ambiente sehr schön, aber für meinen Geschmack ein Ticken zu dunkel. Drei Gänge für den Preis sehr gut, Vorallem bei der Qualität.

Wir haben natürlich anbissen mehr erwartet als bekommen. Das Essen war in Ordnung aber Service katastrophal . Lange Wartezeit für alles inclusive Rechnung. Also muss man überlegen 🤔 ob lohnt sich dieses Restaurant zum Abendessen auswählen. Das Preisleistung war ok.

Der Service war absolut katastrophal. Obwohl ich am Vortag einen Tisch auf der Terrasse bestellt hatte, wollte uns der Kellner keinen Tisch im dunklen Raum geben, da dieser offenbar für vier Personen reserviert war. Wir waren nur zu zweit. Als ich nach etwa 20 Minuten auf die Terrasse ging, um eine Zigarette zu rauchen, war dieser Tisch nicht von vier, sondern von zwei Personen besetzt, und das nicht einmal zum Abendessen, sondern für Getränke. Daraus lässt sich leicht der Schluss ziehen, dass es sich um einen völlig unfreundlichen Vorschlag handelte. Bei der Bestellung wurden uns sofort die Karten vor die Nase geworfen und es folgte mindestens 20 Minuten lang keine Reaktion. Es dauerte so lange, bis der Barkeeper so nett war und unsere Bestellung entgegennahm. Erst nach einiger Zeit erschien der Kellner und versuchte erneut, unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen. Als wir endlich die Getränke bekamen, wollte der Kellner kein Weinglas wegnehmen (ich trank Bier) oder das Besteck ersetzen, weil mein Freund Fisch bestellt hatte. Absolut kein Interesse an unserem Tisch. Nachdem wir den ersten Gang erhalten hatten, mussten wir erneut auf einen Service warten, und in diesem Restaurant ist es sehr schwierig zu fragen, ob wir Brot bekommen könnten. Wir dachten, er sollte auftauchen, während wir auf das Essen warteten, aber was weiß ich schon. Schließlich brachte uns der empörte Kellner einen Korb mit Brot und Dip. Ich könnte so weitermachen, aber es hat keinen Sinn. Das Essen war lecker, der Preis war nicht hoch, aber diese Herangehensweise des Service nimmt, um ehrlich zu sein, den Apatit weg. Natürlich mussten wir auch 12 Minuten auf die Rechnung warten, damit der Kellner bereit war, das Geld für die nächsten 20 Minuten anzunehmen. Ich frage mich nur, wer die Freundlichkeit hat, in Ihr Restaurant zurückzukehren, wenn er sich dort wirklich unwillkommen gefühlt hat???

Really great atmosphere and friendly, attentive, fast staff. The food was generally good, but was a bit disappointing in the details, especially for the prices quoted. In the room menu there was only a hint of rum in the taste of the dessert. The Flensburg was extremely salty. One glass was returned because it was dirty. And even when we reserved a table almost a month in advance, there was only a cramped table in the next room.

Wir waren das 3. Mal dort essen und es ist immer ein Genuss. Wir kommen aus Düsseldorf, wo Fisch Gerichte auch groß geschrieben werden. Das Fisch Risotto war köstlich. Sehr gute Produkte, hohe Qualität viel Genuß.

Ich hatte ein Anker Menü. Alle drei Gänge sehr, sehr lecker. Preis absolut angemessen. Ambiente sehr schön. Der Service war am Anfang sehr gut. Leider sind so ein, zwei Sachen nicht ganz so gut gelaufen. War aber auch viel los. Vielleicht lag es daran. Werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Very distinctively prepared food, taste extremely good. Ambience super nice, very maritime. The only downer was that it was not possible to order a drink because there were no cucumbers available for the ginger-cucumber lemonade.

Reservierungsmodalitäten sehr gut, Empfang nicht freundlich ( wir waren etwas zu früh), Bedienung hätte öfters nach Wünschen / Getränken fragen können, Essen sehr gut , Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut, Ambiente sehr schön.

The reception was very nice, our furry friend also got water straight away. The selection of dishes was like this. The recommended cocktail as an appetizer or starter was a bit sweet but tasted great. The main course was nicely prepared and tasted very good, but the price was not quite that good. We paid almost €100 for the two of us and were still a bit hungry afterwards. But we will definitely come back again for a cozy evening.
