French classic with character and a Tim Raue kick The Brasserie Colette in Munich combines the best of classic French brasserie tradition with modern accents. The service is attentive, professional and warm, which makes the entire experience feel pleasantly calm and authentic. For me, the highlight of the current menu is the tuna with artichokes, bacon and muscovado egg yolk - a successful interplay of saltiness, creaminess, spiciness, acidity and tender tuna. You can hardly get enough of other dishes like the prawn marocain with the tempura coating soaked in vadouvan mayo or the pulpo with veal head jus - for me it's simply soul food! One small point of criticism was the dessert in the Colette Classique menu. The pain au chocolat was quite generous and a heavy ending to an otherwise good meal. In proportion to the salted raw milk butter, half of the pain au chocolat would probably have been enough. The entire menu impresses with its small peaks of spiciness, such as the Piment d’Espelette used, which gives the dishes additional character. For very spicy eaters it might be a little intense here and there. Overall, the Brasserie Colette offers a harmonious fine dining experience and a convincing mix of French flair and modern accents.

Brasserie Colette's dinner was okay, but you don't have to have been there. We had the 'Colette Classique' menu for 5 courses for €99 each. Unfortunately, only two courses were really recommended, namely the Shrimp Marocain and the Pulpo. Both very successful. However, the dessert “Tarte aux Amandes” was a flop; the grapefruit completely overpowered the almond tart. The beef bourguignon was also nothing special, but ok. Despite the interplay of sweetness and spiciness, you don't really have to have the onion soup on a menu in this price range. The cheese board was more than usual - sliced ​​cheese, really? The service was professional and friendly, but there was no time for more in the full restaurant. According to the staff, the recipes come from Tim Raue. Then, from our point of view, he unfortunately only revealed his inspiration in two courses of the menu. For the price it could be better. The ambience is pleasant, part of the menu was great, hence still (barely) 4 stars.

Food was quite mediocre - definitely not worth the price tag. But it was the terrible service which spoiled whole experience. Waiting time between courses was easily 40+ minutes. When we found strange that other tables are served and we are still waiting (we were actually first guests in the restaurant in that evening), we were just told "that is strange, the food should be here"... then it took bit more time and finally, we got a meal which was lukewarm at the best. No explanation, no apologies. The staff didn't care at all - they just let us sitting there with empty glasses all the time and never asked if we'd like something more etc. I wonder if it was because we didn't speak German... Anyway - the staff seemed more interested in their smoke breaks than anything else. We were sitting close to the garden doors so we always got a nice cigarette smell when they went for one... which was like every 15 minutes. I can only recommend to avoid this place.

Because 2 fish dishes were listed, we asked for a change. In the second course we didn't see until too late that there was squid, but this was quickly changed. Thanks for this. As an alternative, we were served two vegan dishes (young peas and the onion tartare). It was a huge surprise for us, but the onion tartare was the highlight for us. The waiters were super nice and very attentive. We sat outside on the summer terrace and when the lights came on outside, you had the feeling of sitting in France for a moment. My wife and I wanted to spend another lovely evening at Colette on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. But unfortunately the following night I had severe stomach cramps, diarrhea and had to vomit several times. Since I hadn't eaten anything other than breakfast on the day in question and the symptoms appeared quite soon after dinner, I unfortunately have to assume that the symptoms came from eating Colette. I ate the oyster platter and the bouillabaisse. My wife ate something else and was fine. I'm not usually one to write reviews. But what annoys me the most about the matter is the fact that I wrote Colette an email the following day in which I described my health problems after the visit and to date (more than 2 weeks later) there has been no response . My email was friendly and without any demands. I wouldn't have expected this from a location in this price range.

Disappointing, we were basically shocked. I've never had to write such a bad review. The quality of the vegetarian food there was subpar. Both dishes tasted completely wrong. Cold broccoli with cream cheese straight from the cup, beetroot with an indefinable, unpalatable vinegrette. Even the crème brulle was ruined with ice and junk. I can't remember eating such a mess of bad combinations. Only steak fries were ok. Incredibly unfortunate. The prices were far too high for that. Our waiter was untrained and clumsy - at these prices you would want a professional with competence. Months after the visit, I'm still upset about what was served there. It's a real shame.

Update 2024 - Third visit: unfortunately that went wrong. The Tim Raue menu was rather pitiful. A big name and a big price point of €129 - and almost none of the courses were convincing. The sea bass was overly pickled and drowned in a pot of sauce. The pretentious caviar course was pretty unclear - pearl onions and sweet and sour sauce to mask the taste of the caviar? The turbot with asparagus was exceptionally delicious. The milk goat was a sliced ​​meat with a strong gyros flavor. Dessert could have been great if you had tasted the sea buckthorn. For €200 per person including wine accompaniment you can get significantly more elsewhere in Munich. But hey! Tim Raue is certainly busy somewhere else and can't look at the quality everywhere his name is on it.

The ambience is stylish yet cozy, perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or a romantic dinner. The service was outstanding. The staff was attentive, friendly and extremely professional. Now to the most important thing: the food. Every dish was a real culinary delight. The ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality, and the preparation and presentation were at the highest level. My personal highlight was the BOUILLABAISSE. In summary, I can fully recommend the restaurant. It offers a perfect combination of excellent food, great service and a pleasant ambience at fair prices. A visit here is a must for anyone who values ​​fine dining. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

**Disappointing visit to Brasserie Colette Tim Raue** It was with great anticipation and high expectations that I returned to Brasserie Colette Tim Raue, a restaurant that had only given me positive experiences in the past. Unfortunately, these expectations were completely disappointed on my most recent visit. Starter: The tartare, intended as an amuse-bouche, turned out to be a culinary disappointment. The excessive use of piment d'Espelette completely overpowered the delicate flavor of the meat, losing the real sophistication of the dish. In addition, there was an artichoke whose texture was so hard that it appeared practically inedible - an unforgivable faux pas in preparation and a clear sign of a lack of culinary skill and finesse. Main course: The steak, which was supposed to be the evening's pièce de résistance, turned out to be a culinary fiasco. The cooking point was correct, but that didn't change the fact that the meat was extremely dry and without any juiciness. In addition, the pulp was rubbery and the Jerusalem artichoke puree had a slightly bitter note. The salad served with it further reinforced this negative impression, as some of it consisted of wilted leaves and the romaine lettuce contained too much stalk - a clear indicator of a lack of care in preparation. Dessert: A bright spot of the evening was undoubtedly the crème brûlée. With its perfect, crispy caramel layer and wonderfully creamy consistency, it set a clear accent and showed that, at least in the dessert, the craftsmanship was there. This dessert was complemented by a Salted Caramel Ice Cream, which is one of the best I have ever tasted. The perfect balance between sweet and salty notes was masterful and completed the dessert at the highest level. Service; The service presented itself in a disinterested and bored state, which negatively affected the entire atmosphere. It seemed as if there was little passion and commitment from the wait staff, so they didn't even want to point out the deficiencies. This palpable indifference made it almost impossible to draw attention to the obvious weaknesses, as the response would most likely have been equally apathetic. Conclusion: Brasserie Colette Tim Raue, once a guarantee of culinary excellence, completely failed on my most recent visit. From the starter, which lacked any subtlety, to the main course, which was dry and tasteless despite being cooked correctly, to the disinterested service, which further reinforced the negative impression. It seemed as if there was no love left in this kitchen and the staff just wanted to get their day done without any passion for cooking. Only the dessert was convincing with an excellent crème brûlée and an excellent salted caramel ice cream. However, this is not enough to compensate for the serious deficiencies of the other courts. Overall, the restaurant failed to live up to high expectations and its reputation.

We spent a very nice evening here. The 4 stars for the food can of course only be seen against the background of the expectations of fine dining. The food was generally very tasty and 2 of the 4 courses were real taste explosions, nicer than you could expect. However, the desserts were less to our taste. Well prepared, but these are the 0.1 stars that are missing from the full 5. So the 4 stars are more likely to be seen as 4.9. The service was impeccable, everyone clearly had fun at work and took excellent care of us without being intrusive! It was also easy to make a reservation for an additional person at short notice.

Super friendly service! Ambiance looks good, but is a bit noisy, also due to the bar and kitchen - depending on where you sit. There were four of us, two of us previously “registered” as vegan, but then we were given bread with butter and, to say goodbye, caramel sweets in transparent foil (ingredients unknown). I would have hoped for a little more caution, especially considering the price on an evening like this and because the service is otherwise so courteous! However, the food, i.e. the vegan menu, and the wine accompaniment, was good, but overall could have been a little more “hearty” (fattier, higher in protein). It wasn't that filling and there was no real "base" for the wine, my companion couldn't drink the wine in the end.. 🥴

What a joy to have found a good restaurant open on Sunday! The joy was already dampened when we were greeted in an upper price class house with a familiar "you" and had to choose the table ourselves. In upscale restaurants, it is not appropriate to address strangers and, in my case, older guests in a confidential manner. That is not how it works! Nor is there a paper placemat that also represents the menu. When asked about a Fl. I asked back whether there was a slightly carbonated water - the first recommendation was one without CO2 - we then chose the offered alternative with normally carbonated water to end the topic. Well, the waiter may not have had his best day, but what was important was whether we wanted a glass of champagne or crémant. This doesn't really fit in with a brasserie, where things seem to be relaxed, but in the upscale category it's completely fine. What is this brasserie now??? The next surprise was the very good bread with salted butter, accompanied by a jar of cornichons as a greeting from the kitchen - strange combination! In a restaurant of this class I definitely expect a butter knife to go with the small bread plate - there wasn't one, but a table knife from a tin can that almost caused the small plate to tip over. My French Onion soup was deep dark brown and heavily over-spiced, served with brioche gratinated with Gruyère but completely tasteless. The other starter, main courses and dessert were good - nothing more. I had to ask for a drinks menu and was then explicitly offered a wine menu. Luckily, a young woman took over the service and gave good wine advice. We know the SraBua restaurant in Berlin from Tim Raue - excellent in terms of cuisine and, above all, service - there is still a lot missing in Munich. It's a shame, we'll stay away from there in the future!

We went to Brasserie Colette for dinner. The ambience is pleasant, the service was cool. The food was generally OK, but nothing special. We were disappointed with the dessert; we didn't like the interpretation of the île flottante at all. Price performance for an evening that was just OK is not true.

Nice evening, but we expected a lot more from it... “secretly” exchanged menu ingredients, long waiting times and rather mediocre quality. Attention from the service staff is definitely expected differently in this restaurant class and under the name Tim Raue. Unfortunately, the quality of the dishes often left something to be desired: while individual notes sometimes stood out excessively, the milk kid was unfortunately bone dry. Whatever the vegan “chicken” was made of (we didn’t find out - maybe jackfruit?), it was also rather dry and tasteless. What I don't expect at this price and quality level is that individual menu components are simply exchanged without further explanation: instead of elderflower in the second course, zucchini blossom was simply served (this was even served when serving without any further explanation that, for example, ingredients were not available, presented this way) and instead of shallot there was onion (also presented this way by name) in the following course. In addition, some of the essential characteristics of the courses were not obvious in advance, for example that the elderflower (which was ultimately a zucchini flower...) in the course “Asparagus, Elderflower, Watercress” is fried in a tempura coating (for example, it would never be my personal first choice). In general, there were noticeably long waiting times between courses. The lowlight, however, was when the neighboring table, which had arrived 30-45 minutes after us and had ordered identical menus, was served the fourth course before us. Unfortunately, when the waiter finally pointed this out, there was no understanding, but rather the argument that we had come at a rush hour. The additional reference to the simply swapped ingredients was not taken into account. Even though the wine was ultimately given up as an apology and we actually really liked the ambience per se, unfortunately this still marred the evening and our experience in the brasserie overall.

The location and service are absolutely outstanding, unfortunately our food was just Average. Everything was visually appealing, but we were particularly disappointed with the meat dishes. The steak was dry and unappealing in terms of taste, the suckling pig was in the same direction. The interpretation of a panna cotta also left an ambivalent impression. Sorry guys, but at the prices quoted Unfortunately, extremely friendly staff and a unique location are not enough.
