Bavarie by Käfer (BMW Welt) in München

We simply wanted to order a bottle of water with my 4-year-old son because he was very thirsty. Unfortunately, the neighboring restaurant was already full, so we went to the bar area of the Bavaria Restaurant – it was almost empty. But instead of being friendly, the waiter turned us away in an extremely rude manner and told us to go to the other restaurant – even though there were no free seats there and we only wanted a bottle of water. Something that wouldn't have taken even a minute. What particularly annoyed us was that the staff clearly had plenty of time for other guests – they were served in a friendly manner, while we were simply turned away. It almost seemed as if they were choosing guests based on their liking. Such behavior is completely inappropriate for an establishment at BMW Welt. A modicum of hospitality and understanding would have been expected, especially with a thirsty little child. Very disappointing – we had expected more service-oriented service. Definitely not a recommendation

We were here on Saturday evening for the "Midsummer Night's Dream" menu. It was supposed to be my husband's birthday dinner and unfortunately turned out to be a complete disappointment. The service that evening was a complete disaster and completely incompetent. It all started on the terrace. We sat down and, after the aperitif, placed our wine order. The lady who served us seemed to have no idea about the wine list and looked at us rather cluelessly. I then showed her the wine on the menu and she left. We hoped she would come back with the wine we had ordered. Unfortunately, she didn't. Due to the weather, all guests had to move inside. This caused chaos during service. This wasn't surprising, as it had been very windy for a while and the wind was already blowing the first glasses off the table. A bit more foresighted service could have perhaps set up the approximately 15 tables inside. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and there was a bit of chaos as to who would be seated at which table. In such chaos, a wine order can get lost. So we were still waiting for our wine. After asking another server, the white wine we had ordered was brought to us, and we happily assumed we would now find competent staff. Unfortunately, we were wrong. The white wine was intended to accompany the first three courses. For the main course and dessert, my husband and I wanted to switch to red wine because we had a meat course. We had to ask two different servers for the wine list before we finally got it. So we ordered a bottle of red wine and a water because the first bottle was empty. We were left high and dry until after dessert. Neither the bottle of water nor the bottle of wine was ever brought to us, even though the staff must have seen our empty glasses when the two courses were served. However, they consistently overlooked them. After the meal and the fireworks, we actually wanted an espresso and a digestif to finish off the meal. We got a surprise when we returned to our table, which was already completely cleared and empty. So we had no choice but to pay at the cash register. About the menu: The food was okay, but far too average for the price to justify it. The risotto lacked a hint of lemon, and the meat course consisted of mashed potatoes, Maultaschen (a kind of pasta dish), and then, unfortunately, only three tiny pieces of cauliflower. Starting with the main course, the plate always came first, followed by the cutlery. Sometimes, this only happened upon request. Anyone charging €169 for a five-course meal should also offer the appropriate service and food quality.

We reserved a table at Bavarie for our car pickup – and what can we say: It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening! Super delicious food, incredibly friendly service, and a truly pleasant atmosphere. Thank you so much – we'll be back! A special compliment to the excellent service.

Great food, the steak was perfect and the chocolate mousse was incredible. Staff was very friendly and polite as well.

Good food with nice location with balcony

Extremely courteous staff, perfectly coordinated ingredients in the lunch menu, at the highest level in every respect. The price is also completely reasonable in terms of quality and taste. Individual wishes are also lovingly addressed. Unfortunately, the ambient noise from the surrounding area is somewhat disturbing, which could perhaps be remedied by suitable sound insulation. Nevertheless, a very nice experience that is worth repeating at any time.

Really very tasty lunch menu with 3 courses enjoyed for a reasonable price, the quantity was perfectly balanced. The staff was extremely courteous and the restaurant was very clean and organized. We ate there for our birthday and everyone was very attentive and even congratulated us. We will be very happy to come back :) The only bad aftertaste: Unfortunately, the restaurant is not very separated from the rest of the BMW World, which is why screaming or raging children from other rooms were often present, which made it a little less peaceful. More peace and perhaps some quiet music would make the atmosphere much more pleasant. Nevertheless, thanks to the team for the great and very tasty food!

Excellent quality of food and drinks, modern ambience, with a beautiful view of the BMW Welt and the hustle and bustle there. In summer, there is a very large terrace where you can relax and enjoy a view of the Olympic grounds. A really nice place for anyone who likes high quality dining. Only the service needs improvement. Nevertheless, a clear recommendation!

Very friendly service and exceptional food in an exciting environment

A visit to the Bavarie BMW Welt is always a highlight. Henning Aldag and his team have once again outdone themselves. The three-course menu was fantastic, one dish better than the other, stars suspect. Then greetings from the kitchen, amuse bouche, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. The service, especially Mr. Cornelius, was excellent, extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and very inviting. A top address.

I only had an iced coffee there. Ah okay, I tried the cheesecake at my mother's house. Very sweet, but good. Prices are slightly higher than normal.

The lobster pasta was delicious and the schnitzel was spicy.

The location and service are absolutely outstanding, unfortunately our food was just Average. Everything was visually appealing, but we were particularly disappointed with the meat dishes. The steak was dry and unappealing in terms of taste, the suckling pig was in the same direction. The interpretation of a panna cotta also left an ambivalent impression. It's crazy how great it is, the atmosphere is really nice, people, you have to come here.🤩We ordered the course menu for all 8 people Food is incredible, many variations of the chef's dish, wonderful little details and unusual flavors that we all just use the word 🤩wow🤩said. Everyone was so amazing and overjoyed, especially the birthday girl. The view over the Olympic Park is very beautiful. And still completely hidden in the BMW-WELT. 🥰👍😫

Finest cuisine or art event? A visit to Henning Aldag and his team in Bavaria allows us to enjoy both. Extraordinary variety of tastes is presented in the form of lovingly creative details. Every bite is as valuable as the first cut of a wedding cake. We remember the sorbet as being extraordinarily intense and literally taking us back to our childhood with taste explosions (through crunchy pearls - back then popping). Completed with very attentive service, we recommend the Bavarie to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable, enriching evening at a good price-performance ratio! Worth repeating! Thanks!

Very nice atmosphere in the BMW world. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food and especially the schnitzel is incredibly good. Always worth a visit when traveling in Munich.

Absolute insider tip! Great restaurant with a beautiful, large terrace facing the Olympic Park, the food is in no way inferior to a star restaurant, but at a very good price-performance ratio and the service is also top - we would be happy to come back!

Excellent restaurant located inside the BMW world, which gives the possibility of accessing the fleet of cars on display after dinner given the opening hours. A good spot after visiting the BMW museum. Very good soup, steak and dessert. However, the cutlet in the children's set is tasteless. Very nice service.

Ich bin mit meiner Firma hingegangen. Das Essen war hervorragend!!!!. Service war mit 2 Gruppen die gleichzeitig angetroffen sind ein bisschen überfordert aber das Essen hat alles wieder glatt und zu Guten gewandt. Alle fanden das Essen mehr als hervorragend. Von Brot bis zum Dessert Klasse, Präsentation A1+, Geschmack A1++. Danke an das ganze Küchen Team für die tolle Leistung!!! Gerne bald wieder.

Grund für die Bewertung: Es gab keine einzige vegetarische Hauptspeise auf der Karte. Es gab zwar ein Gängemenu mit einer vegetarischen Option, die man aber nicht einzeln bestellen konnte. Die nette Kellnerin war selber überrascht darüber, konnte uns dann aber nur raten, in ein anderes Restaurant im Haus zu gehen. Jetzt kann man natürlich entgegenhalten: Buh buh, militante Vegetarier bla bla buhh buuh. Aber sind wir mal ehrlich, es ist einfach nicht mehr zeitgemäss, gar nix für die militanten und weniger militanten Vegis auf der Karte zu haben. Die Kellnerin war super nett. Deshalb der zusätzliche 2. Stern.

Vielen Dank an Viktor und das ganze Service-Team für einen wunderschönen Abend in der Bavarie! Nach einem Besuch des BMW Museums am Nachmittag sind wir anschliessend in die BMW Welt gegangen und haben die tolle Architektur sowie die ausgestellten BMWs bestaunt. Das "Highlight" unserer Geburtstagsfeier war jedoch das Essen in der Bavarie. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Die Küche ging auf die speziellen Vorlieben bzw. Unverträglichkeiten ein und zauberte für uns ein tolles vier Gänge Menü ==> Gebeizter Saibling / Maultaschen mit Rehkeule / Bäckchen & Filet vom Tiroler Kalb / Dessert Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Die Bavarie by Käfer befindet sich in der BMW-Welt. Nicht zu verwechseln mit dem ebenfalls im Haus befindlichen 2 Sterne Restaurant. Wir hatten das 4-Gang-Menu, einzelne Gänge waren problemlos auszutauschen. Das Essen war von der Qualität und der optischen Darbietung hervorragend und wäre auch als Stern-lastig durchgegangen. Gruss aus der Küche, Saiblingstatar, Tortelono mit Garnelen, Lamm und ein Champagnerschaum mit Himbeersorbet. Top! Der Service war aufmerksam , aber angenehm zurückhaltend. Aussenplätze sind reichlich vorhanden, z.T. jedoch am Mittleren Ring, daher nicht ganz ruhig, aber auch nicht sonderlich störend.

Gehobenes Ambiente inmitten der BMW Welt. Essen sehr gut , ebenfalls wunderschön angerichtete Speisen. Preise recht hoch, scheinen jedoch angemessen zu sein. Speisekarte Recht klein. Die Küche geht auch sehr gut auf Lebensmittelunverträglichkeiten ein und passt die Speisen entsprechend an.

Hervorragendes Käfer Food in ungewöhnlicher Umgebung, super Service!

I booked on a Thursday and it looked like a reservation wasn’t necessary for lunch time. The restaurant is nice, the food was pretty good but the service has its issues. They solved it quickly but considering I had two dishes and they got confused a it wasn’t that convenient. The bread is to die for. It was sooo good.

Selbstbedienung, essen sehr lecker auch hochwertig. Nicht zu teuer für München! Currywurst sollte aber eine rote Wurst sein die war nicht so gut eher weich. Curry mit Reis sege scharf aber lecker. Veganer Burger auch klasse

Wir waren zu viert absolut begeistert, jedes Gericht war einfach top. Die Portionen waren ausreichen groß, wir wurden alle über unseren Verhältnissen verwöhnt.

Went so many times to the BMW Welt and always skipped this restaurant, until yesterday. It’s a bit hidden on the second floor. Should have discovered it earlier, though. The premises are supposed to be wheelchair accessible, but they had to use a ramp to help us reach the dining room (wheelchair). Staff is friendly, helpful and super efficient. They serve delicious French-German style brasserie food made with fresh local ingredients, the taglioni with shrimps and scallops was exquisite, as well as the veal schnitzel. The dessert we got was fabulous, too.

Great atmosphere, friendly stuf, good chefs, international team that works

Perfektes Ambiente, sehr leckeres Essen, exzellenter Service. Zur Location muss man nicht viel sagen, für alle Petrol und Electro-Heads 😀 ein Pilgerort.

Wir waren an einem Donnerstag Abend hier vor einem Konzert in der Olympiahalle zu Besuch. Parken ist ganz einfach in der gebührenpflichtigen Tiefgarage der BMW Welt möglich. Mit dem Aufzug erreicht man das Restaurant mühelos. Der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir hatten die Möglichkeit drin oder draußen zu essen. Auf der Dachterrasse hat man einen schönen Ausblick. Das Essen ist sehr schön angerichtet und hat auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Zum Start wurde sehr leckeres Brot mit einem Aufstrich serviert. Das Brot ist selbst gebacken und echt lecker. Kleiner negativ Punkt. Auf der Rechnung wurde die Flasche Wein vergessen. Wir machten die Bedienung darauf aufmerksam. Als wir die neue Rechnung erhielten kam nur ein kleines leises „ach ja danke“

Echt lecker, besondere Location, toller Blick. Das Menü kann sich sehen lassen, Preis/Leistung stimmen für mich. Aber auch das Schnitzel ist erwähnenswert. Unsere Tochter hatte die Kinderversion. Mega lecker, knusprig und dünn. Gerne wieder.

Absolut einen Besuch wert! Das Essen war von sehr hoher Qualität und das Geschmacks Erlebnis war hervorragend! Die Teller waren auch wunderschön angerichtet! Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und werden noch des öfteren dort hingehen! Die Mitarbeiter:innen waren sehr zuvorkommend und haben sich super um uns gekümmert! Diese Location ist top - man hat auch einen wirklich tollen und einzigartigen Ausblick auf den Olympiaturm!

Wir waren heute das erste Mal in der Bavaria in der BMW Welt unter der Leitung von Henning Aldag. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und hatten einen schönen Tisch mit Aussicht auf den Olympiaturm. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Unser Menü war durchweg auf höchstem Niveau und hervorzuheben sind dabei insbesondere die Trüffel Ravioli und die zart geschmorte Rinderbrust welche von einer hervorragenden Jus ummantelt war. Die Qualität der Produkte sowie die Kreativität in der Zusammenstellung der Speisen zogen sich durch das gesamte Menü. Zusammenfassend hatten wir sehr viel Freunde und werden definitiv wiederkommen! Vielen Dank an das Küchenteam!

Grandios!!!💥 Die weite Anreise hat sich mehr als gelohnt. Angefangen von der herzlichen Atmosphäre und dem tollen Service , bis hin zum Geschmackerlebnis. Es war ein rundherum perfekter Abend . Jeder einzelne Gang war auf den Punkt gelungen . Ein großes Dankeschön an das gesamte Team, die den Abend für uns unvergesslich gemacht haben! Sylvester in der Bavarie? Wir sind in jedem Fall wieder dabei.

Für jeden zu empfehlen wenn man sehr gut essen möchte für angemessen Preis. Lob an die Küche und dem sehr freundlichen aufmerksamen Service. Werde wieder kommen.

An diesem Abend stach Elias in puncto Service und Freundlichkeit aus dem Team hervor. So sind wir ins Gespräch gekommen. Unsere Gruppe (3) freut sich schon, sollte er uns nächstes mal wieder bedienen. Bis bald!
