Côba in Magdeburg

The prices are good, the food is ok, the staff is friendly and helpful. Purely subjectively, there are better places, the salad was pure and definitely not fresh. The tables for two people are really small, you shouldn't be taller than 1.70m for the hard, uncomfortable chairs. The cobbled together exterior cladding leaves a lot to be desired. Comfortable is something else. So there is no second time for me.

First the positive: the food tastes good and the ambience, especially in the back of the restaurant, is very nice. There is a star deduction because the restaurant does not accept card payments but only cash payments (which is not obvious at first glance). There is a further star deduction because, in our opinion, the drinks were not served to us in the size shown on the menu (we had ordered and paid for 0.4dl drinks - but in our group we were all of the opinion that we would definitely get smaller glasses - but when we asked we were told that these were the "big" drinks)

Very tasty food and extras at no charge. Exceptionally refreshing service that not only pleased our taste buds. We set off again in a happy mood, so to speak. Thank you for that too

I tried to make a reservation over the phone but we were told to just show up and no reservation was taken. When we arrived at the appointed time it was a problem that we didn't have a reservation. The food wasn't to my liking, but the waiters were very nice.

The atmosphere is very chic and the outside area is a bit simple but cozy. The staff is super nice and the food is really delicious. I would come again if I were from the area. Highly recommended.

The Coba restaurant is open all day, so we were able to have a meal at 3:30 p.m. The dishes - soup, fried egg noodles with beef and crispy duck with rice - were very tasty and attractively prepared. Only the duck was a bit cold and the portions are not suitable for extremely hungry people. We apologized for the cold duck and were offered a coffee. The ambience is very appropriate and the service was very friendly and accommodating.

The food is incredible, the location also. The staff is very kind. Please take the vegan spring rolls with mushrooms, delicious!

The staff was extremely friendly and also found time for a short conversation that went beyond just an order. The ambience in the garden was wonderful and very tastefully decorated. On the extensive, cloth-bound menu, every taste will find a suitable dish and drink. The quality of the food is very good and the taste is incredibly well balanced - the homemade lemonades and (non-alcoholic) cocktails are also worth ordering. A visit is definitely recommended if you are looking for good Vietnamese cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff

The food and ambience are really good, but the service is not. First we waited in front of the counter for 10 minutes to be taken to the table that was already free. Then we had to wait about 20 minutes to order drinks. It took another long time to eat. Then we first got the food for another table, then meat was brought twice instead of tofu (so we let the meat go back, then they came back with the meat version, then tofu). The next drink order was completely forgotten, whereupon I ordered again and got non-alcoholic instead of normal. And payment with Paypal friends and family... well...

The Côba was once one of the best restaurants in Magdeburg and has been one of our go-to's in our circle of friends for more than 5 years when we couldn't agree on a restaurant. Unfortunately, all the recipes have been changed in the last 10 to 12 months, meaning that the dishes now range in taste from bland to at best bad Asian snack food. All dishes lack seasoning, better/more expensive ingredients were replaced with cheap ones or left out completely (e.g. at the beginning spring onions were replaced with simple fried onions and at the end with ready-fried onions) and handmade dishes were replaced with frozen ready-made products. The staff and the design of the restaurant are still great, especially the terrace is beautiful in the evenings. Unfortunately, we will probably never visit the restaurant or order there again.

Every dish comes with a vegetarian option, their drinks are veryyyyyy good (I chose Co Ba Liebe/77). Atmosphere is incredible and staff friendly. Would recommend and will visit again.

Four of us were guests there on a Monday evening. Due to the nice weather, we sat outside in the courtyard, in a pleasant atmosphere. The card was handed to us immediately. The drinks order was taken after 20 minutes 😐. Another 25 minutes later we got the drink we ordered. 😒 Something like this simply shouldn't happen in a restaurant. There was also a very long wait at the other tables. After the drinks arrived we ordered the food. They then came to the table an acceptable 15 minutes later. The food is very tasty and cheap (duck breast with rice and delicious sauce for 13.5 euros). The portions are relatively (small). Not for people who need a lot to fill themselves up. The drinks are, as is unfortunately common almost everywhere, very expensive (0.5 liters of beer for 5.4 euros). Conclusion: food cheap, tasty, maybe a little too small. Drinks, especially Vietnamese teas, are very tasty, but also quite expensive. The service was/is a disaster. This was our second time in this restaurant. It was much better the first time... What a shame

Unfamiliar cuisine, but still positive experiences. At Côba you sit in a cozy courtyard with plenty of decoration. Stylish and tasty cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, highly recommended. From small starters to hot soups to hearty main courses, you can get it all. If you ask, you can also season it yourself with lime and chilli, which is very positive.

Coba is a cute little Vietnamese restaurant - you think. In summer it is larger due to the garden becoming a backyard - which is pretty to look at, by the way. The ambience is really magical, with lots of lanterns, flowers - even if artificial, at least inside and on the way to the toilet, trees outside in the garden. I was there for lunch, others usually drink coffee and eat cake. I had Dim Sum Hoanh Thanh and Mi Hoanh Thanh (soup). Both really delicious, I love wontons. The soup contained, among other things, cauliflower, broccoli and carrot, as well as noodles, lemongrass, of course wonton and coriander, which was used very carefully (unfortunately I have enjoyed over-herbal food with coriander in Indian food). The broth was hot and very flavorful, not salted as far as I can tell. The steamed wontons were equally delicious. Stuffing made from minced shrimp and chicken with a slightly sour taste. The service (w) was very attentive. Another guest wanted to try to work from there. The waitress tried to make this possible for him. Unfortunately the connection didn't work. With me she always asked if it tasted good, if everything was good, if it tasted good. However, me and the other guest were the only guests until then. Food that was ordered was picked up. The toilet is in the basement. Very clean and the ambience continued. I hope the restaurant has a future and stays there so that I can eat well there again the next time I'm in Magdeburg.

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Friday evening, July 12, 2024. Even the ordering was bumpy: at first none of the service staff felt responsible, then the drink order was taken incorrectly and after a long wait and back and forth we only got the right drink after the meal. The bill then showed the wrong, more expensive drink again!!! The food didn't work at all. An appetizer plate for two people consisted of dry salad from a pre-packaged package that was probably overused, cold, overly fatty, fried parts that all tasted the same and rancid, and ready-made sauces, one of which was completely tasteless. Additionally, we had ordered cooked seasonal vegetables, which turned out to be frozen vegetables, lightly cooked but completely tasteless and unseasoned. There was also a hoisin sauce from a bottle, which was completely unsuitable as a vegetable dip. Everything is an imposition!!! We had imagined Ines' Friday evening differently. Never again Coba in Magdeburg!!! Really not recommended.

On June 16, 2024, I visited this restaurant. The male waiter was rude and glared at me. It was the worst service I have ever experienced. After asking for the bill I had to wait about 30 minutes for him to come. If he doesn't enjoy this work, he should look for another job.

Food was good, there were 7 of us and we had all ordered starters and main courses, but a lot of things didn't arrive at the table.

We had the food delivered. After a short delivery time, the driver (Uber eat) was there and briefly complained about two flights of stairs he had to climb. Checked the bag with the food and found that there was only one of the desserts. When you ordered this dessert on the website it was advertised as 2 for 1. When asked, it was explained that the second one would be delivered later. So after an hour there was still no delivery, I called again. In this phone call it was explained that the dessert would only be available if you ordered directly on the restaurant's homepage. The suggestion that this information was misleading was ignored in a rather unfriendly manner. When I accessed the website again, this offer was also deleted. A no go for me. Not this restaurant again.

I was in the restaurant with three friends. Two had Bao as starters, unfortunately the roll was a bit dried out, which is why one Bao wasn't as tasty. Almost everything about the main courses was okay, just a little bit. But unfortunately the vegetarian pho was really not tasty at all. The broth had virtually no taste, which is why the noodles, tofu and mushrooms in it didn't taste good either. That was a shame and I would recommend taking the dish off the menu. Because it's really hard to enjoy like that. The Vietnamese coffee, on the other hand, was very tasty! The restaurant was very beautiful and lovingly designed. The waiter was friendly.

i just visited Magdeburg and accidentally found this restaurant on the map because it is located closest to the central station, but the food tastes really good. The restaurant staff is very friendly and always asks if my food is to my liking. In addition, the space and music also make me feel at home.

Worst experience with food. The staff working there is incredibly rude. After ordering 40 euros worth of food that was delivered without any cutlery (no forks, no chip sticks, no spoon), we called to report the problem but were answered in a passive-aggressive tone and then... the call ended.

Schade, sehr Kinder unfreundlich. Waren das zweite und auch letzte Mal hier. Diesmal mit unserer 5 jährigen Tochter. Kinder Portionen gibt es auch nicht auf Nachfrage. Und von dem Buddha-Schrein wurden die Kinder weggeschickt, als sie ihn sich angeschaut haben. Nunja, gibt andere freundlichere Restaurants.

Sehr leckere und frische vietnamesische Küche. Die Speisekarte ist eher klein gehalten, dafür schmeckt es einfach super gut. Preis - Leistung stimmt überein. Die Lokalität ist traditionell eingerichtet, am besten ist es ein Tisch zu reservieren da es nicht so viele Plätze gibt. Die Bedienungen waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich!

Das Essen war okay etwas wenig aber lecker. Das Ambiente halt typisch für die nationale Art. Sitzplätze waren sehr eng die Bestuhlung war ziemlich klein harte Holzstühle mit dünnen Kissen belegt.

Wir sind sonst immer sehr sehr zufrieden mit unseren Bestellungen, aber heute kann ich zum ersten Mal keine 5 Sterne geben. Das Essen kam leider nur lauwarm an und war nach dem Öffnen schnell kalt. Zudem heute nur lasch gewürzt und nicht die Geschmacksexplosion die wir sonst gewöhnt sind.

Der Tresen war komplett zugestellt mit schmutzigen Gläsern. Unser Vorspeisenteller für 2 Personen bestand fast nur aus Salat und Soßen. Das Essen war keinen Restaurantbesuch Wert. Und das Rückgeld haben wir erst auf Nachfrage wiederbekommen.

Super Essen, super Service. Einzig die Stühle sind nichts für den Rücken großer Menschen.

Wir waren zum Mittag hier und hatten keine Plätze reservieren lassen. Die Speisekarte ist nicht zu groß bietet aber einiges an Vorspeisen, Suppen, Hauptspeisen und Dessert. Die Speisen die wir wählten waren wirklich schmackhaft und lecker. Zu bemängeln habe ich eigentlich nur den Salat auf der Vorspeisenplatte. Er sah schon trocken aus und schmeckte nicht wirklich. Die Rollen, Wings und gebackenen Teigtaschen sowie die dazugereichten Soßen schmeckten dafür lecker. Die Hauptspeisen und Desserts ließen wir uns dann bei einem schönen Asiatischen Ambiente schmecken. Die Cocktails waren lecker. Alles in allem haben wir gut gegessen. Preis Leistung passen zusammen. Für 20 Euro pro Person kommt man gut hin.

Wir haben heute dort zu Abend gegessen und es war super lecker 👍😊 frischer Minztee mit Ingwer und Honig, Sommer- und Frühlingsrollen als Vorspeise und warmen Nudelsalat einmal mit Lachs und einmal mit Rindfleisch als Hauptspeise… sehr sehr lecker und empfehlenswert 👍👍👍 Leider saßen wir irgendwie im Zug, aber ansonsten war es sowohl vom Service, als auch dem zauberhaften Ambiente fantastisch. 5 Sterne 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ambiente - schön, aber nicht sehr gepflegt Essen - könnte besser sein. Überall hat's an Salz oder Geschmack allgemein gefehlt, das kenne ich von vietnamesischem Essen anders. Pho war eine der geschmackslosesten die ich je gegessen habe Service - an sich freundlich, aber nicht professionell und keine guten Deutschkenntnisse. Ich habe ca 45 Min gewartet nach dem Essen dass jemand für die Rechnung, ein neues Getränk oder zum Abräumen kommt, und musste selbst dann noch die Bedienung eigenständig rufen gehen.

Essen war aehr lecker und die Preise sind völlig okay, immer wieder ein Besuch wert.

Wir waren mit 11 Personen um 18 Uhr da. Saßen im Garten. Schönes Ambiente und wurde schnell voller. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Preise sind angemessen und die Getränke wie auch die Speisen sind sehr lecker. Für die vollen 5 Sterne fehlte es leider an der zeitlichen Abstimmung. So kamen die Speisen mit großen Abständen wie wir auch auf die Getränke warten mussten. Dies war jedoch meiner Meinung nach dem Andrang geschuldet. Auf jeden Fall ist es eine Empfehlung.

Muy buen ambiente. Buena comida vietnamita. Se puede ir sin reservar. Se puede comer dentro o en la terraza interior. Personal agradable. Lo único negativo es que no se puede pagar con tarjeta. En los tiempos que estamos no me parece muy lógico que sólo se pueda pagar en efectivo. Pienso que deberían intentar solucionar el tema del pago con tarjeta lo antes posible.

Hier gibt es solide vietnamesische Küche bei anständigem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis (eher günstig). Das Personal ist außerordentlich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wenn du zweimal da warst, erkennen sie dich gleich wieder! Am Eingang gibt es eine Art kleinen Altar. Es ist ein schöner Ort für energiespürige Menschen. Der Außenbereich ist wegen der Beleuchtung besonders am Abend ein Highlight. Ich komme oft und gerne hierher.

The restaurant creates such a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food is quite good, but what really steals the show are their amazing drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely be returning for more.
