Everything we ate was fresh and tasty but beware of their fish sauce which is very strong,not for everyone's palate.do try herbal tea, pho excellent.

I'm just amazed by the positive reviews here. Have the reviewers ever been to a good Vietnamese restaurant? The food is mediocre at best. If you're impressed, I recommend the Asian snack bar at the train station (or in the parking lot of the nearest discount store). You'll experience a true explosion of flavor there for a much better price-performance ratio. But what really infuriates me, besides the poor quality of the food, makes me regret visiting this restaurant: - No card payments. Tax evasion is now par for the course in this industry; I guess you just have to live with it. What I can't live with is the following: - I ask for a small glass of tap water for my toddler; it's refused, citing the mineral water on the menu. - So that I can give my child (18 months) some of my main course, they place a dirty (!) plastic bowl in front of him. - I want to change my son's diaper, but I'm denied because there's only one changing table in the women's restroom. - Finally, the waiter blatantly lies to my face and claims that they only informed me that the changing table is in the women's restroom. The truth is, she strongly discouraged me from changing my child. May the tax and health authorities take care of you, such shops should be removed from the market immediately.

I used to come here almost every day. However, the place has lost some of its charm. New-fangled menus replace the old wooden ones. Pictures next to the dishes don't match the descriptions, causing confusion. The food and service are still very good.

In short: simply different from the Chinese restaurant around the corner or the trendy Japanese restaurant, very tasty and a great price-performance ratio.

I have to say: I had the best tofu of my life here! Crispy on the outside, deliciously soft on the inside... And with such a great marinade! The tofu as a main course is highly recommended. Unfortunately, it took a long time for us to order, even though we were practically alone in the restaurant. Still, I recommend it between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM... In my experience, that's when it's the emptiest.

We ate at Co Ba in the evening and were absolutely thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious, freshly prepared, and authentically Vietnamese. The beautiful terrace, where you can enjoy the evening in a relaxed atmosphere, is particularly noteworthy. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and personable—you immediately feel welcome.

The food hasn't been good for a long time. It's definitely not worth the money anymore. The staff is also becoming increasingly unfriendly and often speaks very poor German.

The staff is very friendly, hard-working, and accommodating, and the food tastes great. The wooden chairs with low backs aren't ideal for older people 🤣 It was a bit strange that, despite placing our orders electronically, items were brought to our table that weren't for us at all, and when we paid the bill, the items listed were items that we didn't eat... None of us had dessert 🤔 And always bring enough cash, because we only accept cash payments 😁

Food tastes good. But it had been better before. I think the card has waned in recent years. (personal impression) Service is nice, but was a bit confused during my visit and we had to wait quite a long time for our food. I don't find it comfortable in the shop... when the outside terrace opens in spring, it's easier to sit.

The main courses and dessert were very bad. And the drinks ruin my building, another big problem is the boss and employees, they are rude. I'm never coming back

Authentic and very tasty Vietnamese restaurant with a few Asian combination dishes. Directly behind the door you will find a small Buddhist shrine where incense sticks are often lit, even while eating. Sometimes the waiters are really slow. The food is really delicious. The desserts are great, the main courses are brilliant for both vegetarians and carnivores. The parking situation is stupid, we usually park in front of the door or take the train. I think the toilets are super cool, I know, wild take. This restaurant is worth it, at least if you eat there. It's also ok to take away and it's super tasty, but the portions are much smaller.

Eating outside in winter is a no go! Cold feet despite the patio heater!

DO NOT EAT HERE. I’d like to give this 0 star, my satay starter had a fruit fly in it and was absolutely tasteless, then my main meal came out freezing cold I asked them to heat it up after he had put his hand in my food to see if it was cold, for him then to bring it back out a little bit hotter, absolutely awful food awful service do not visit here, to make it worse they only accept cash. I’ve never eaten at such a poor restaurant in all my travels. Horrific

Normally I'm thrilled with the store. However, we were very disappointed tonight. Cold food and not good in taste. Hence the rating.

I've loved going to Coba for years. Now the owner seems to have changed, because not only is the staff different and the inside has been renovated, unfortunately the menu has also been changed. Many dishes are no longer available and both the new dishes and the few that are well known taste different or, in my opinion, not as good. But the service is still very good and always friendly.

We ordered online. The delivery time was okay, but the driver was more than unfriendly. There was already swearing in the stairwell. When I got to the top he told me he hadn't found a parking space. It's not my problem to take care of it. The food also leaves a lot to be desired. It was lukewarm. We had two different soups which tasted exactly the same. Too bad.

We were there for lunch. The restaurant is very pretty and has an outdoor terrace at the back. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. Highly recommended.

Our delivery arrived on time but the food was not good. The wontons should be with shrimp and chicken. You could see some of the chicken, but otherwise there would only be mushrooms in it. It also tasted very smoky, something I hadn't experienced before from wontons. The udon noodles with salmon were also included in the order. The salmon was fart dry and not tasty. The sauce for the udon noodles tasted like a bag of frame sauce and wasn't tasty either. I know what it should taste like because in our city it tastes great and here it wasn't tasty at all. If I could give 0 stars I would, but unfortunately that's not possible.

The food and drinks were delicious, the service was excellent and the location is great on a quiet side street. Great too, which is open all day long. We wanted to eat around 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon and that's actually when most Vietnamese restaurants are closed. We'd love to come back.

The prices are good, the food is ok, the staff is friendly and helpful. Purely subjectively, there are better places, the salad was pure and definitely not fresh. The tables for two people are really small, you shouldn't be taller than 1.70m for the hard, uncomfortable chairs. The cobbled together exterior cladding leaves a lot to be desired. Comfortable is something else. So there is no second time for me.

First the positive: the food tastes good and the ambience, especially in the back of the restaurant, is very nice. There is a star deduction because the restaurant does not accept card payments but only cash payments (which is not obvious at first glance). There is a further star deduction because, in our opinion, the drinks were not served to us in the size shown on the menu (we had ordered and paid for 0.4dl drinks - but in our group we were all of the opinion that we would definitely get smaller glasses - but when we asked we were told that these were the "big" drinks)

I tried to make a reservation over the phone but we were told to just show up and no reservation was taken. When we arrived at the appointed time it was a problem that we didn't have a reservation. The food wasn't to my liking, but the waiters were very nice.

The Coba restaurant is open all day, so we were able to have a meal at 3:30 p.m. The dishes - soup, fried egg noodles with beef and crispy duck with rice - were very tasty and attractively prepared. Only the duck was a bit cold and the portions are not suitable for extremely hungry people. We apologized for the cold duck and were offered a coffee. The ambience is very appropriate and the service was very friendly and accommodating.

The staff was extremely friendly and also found time for a short conversation that went beyond just an order. The ambience in the garden was wonderful and very tastefully decorated. On the extensive, cloth-bound menu, every taste will find a suitable dish and drink. The quality of the food is very good and the taste is incredibly well balanced - the homemade lemonades and (non-alcoholic) cocktails are also worth ordering. A visit is definitely recommended if you are looking for good Vietnamese cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff

The food and ambience are really good, but the service is not. First we waited in front of the counter for 10 minutes to be taken to the table that was already free. Then we had to wait about 20 minutes to order drinks. It took another long time to eat. Then we first got the food for another table, then meat was brought twice instead of tofu (so we let the meat go back, then they came back with the meat version, then tofu). The next drink order was completely forgotten, whereupon I ordered again and got non-alcoholic instead of normal. And payment with Paypal friends and family... well...

The Côba was once one of the best restaurants in Magdeburg and has been one of our go-to's in our circle of friends for more than 5 years when we couldn't agree on a restaurant. Unfortunately, all the recipes have been changed in the last 10 to 12 months, meaning that the dishes now range in taste from bland to at best bad Asian snack food. All dishes lack seasoning, better/more expensive ingredients were replaced with cheap ones or left out completely (e.g. at the beginning spring onions were replaced with simple fried onions and at the end with ready-fried onions) and handmade dishes were replaced with frozen ready-made products. The staff and the design of the restaurant are still great, especially the terrace is beautiful in the evenings. Unfortunately, we will probably never visit the restaurant or order there again.

Every dish comes with a vegetarian option, their drinks are veryyyyyy good (I chose Co Ba Liebe/77). Atmosphere is incredible and staff friendly. Would recommend and will visit again.

Four of us were guests there on a Monday evening. Due to the nice weather, we sat outside in the courtyard, in a pleasant atmosphere. The card was handed to us immediately. The drinks order was taken after 20 minutes 😐. Another 25 minutes later we got the drink we ordered. 😒 Something like this simply shouldn't happen in a restaurant. There was also a very long wait at the other tables. After the drinks arrived we ordered the food. They then came to the table an acceptable 15 minutes later. The food is very tasty and cheap (duck breast with rice and delicious sauce for 13.5 euros). The portions are relatively (small). Not for people who need a lot to fill themselves up. The drinks are, as is unfortunately common almost everywhere, very expensive (0.5 liters of beer for 5.4 euros). Conclusion: food cheap, tasty, maybe a little too small. Drinks, especially Vietnamese teas, are very tasty, but also quite expensive. The service was/is a disaster. This was our second time in this restaurant. It was much better the first time... What a shame

Unfamiliar cuisine, but still positive experiences. At Côba you sit in a cozy courtyard with plenty of decoration. Stylish and tasty cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, highly recommended. From small starters to hot soups to hearty main courses, you can get it all. If you ask, you can also season it yourself with lime and chilli, which is very positive.

Coba is a cute little Vietnamese restaurant - you think. In summer it is larger due to the garden becoming a backyard - which is pretty to look at, by the way. The ambience is really magical, with lots of lanterns, flowers - even if artificial, at least inside and on the way to the toilet, trees outside in the garden. I was there for lunch, others usually drink coffee and eat cake. I had Dim Sum Hoanh Thanh and Mi Hoanh Thanh (soup). Both really delicious, I love wontons. The soup contained, among other things, cauliflower, broccoli and carrot, as well as noodles, lemongrass, of course wonton and coriander, which was used very carefully (unfortunately I have enjoyed over-herbal food with coriander in Indian food). The broth was hot and very flavorful, not salted as far as I can tell. The steamed wontons were equally delicious. Stuffing made from minced shrimp and chicken with a slightly sour taste. The service (w) was very attentive. Another guest wanted to try to work from there. The waitress tried to make this possible for him. Unfortunately the connection didn't work. With me she always asked if it tasted good, if everything was good, if it tasted good. However, me and the other guest were the only guests until then. Food that was ordered was picked up. The toilet is in the basement. Very clean and the ambience continued. I hope the restaurant has a future and stays there so that I can eat well there again the next time I'm in Magdeburg.

Been there so many times and have never been disappointed.

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Friday evening, July 12, 2024. Even the ordering was bumpy: at first none of the service staff felt responsible, then the drink order was taken incorrectly and after a long wait and back and forth we only got the right drink after the meal. The bill then showed the wrong, more expensive drink again!!! The food didn't work at all. An appetizer plate for two people consisted of dry salad from a pre-packaged package that was probably overused, cold, overly fatty, fried parts that all tasted the same and rancid, and ready-made sauces, one of which was completely tasteless. Additionally, we had ordered cooked seasonal vegetables, which turned out to be frozen vegetables, lightly cooked but completely tasteless and unseasoned. There was also a hoisin sauce from a bottle, which was completely unsuitable as a vegetable dip. Everything is an imposition!!! We had imagined Ines' Friday evening differently. Never again Coba in Magdeburg!!! Really not recommended.

On June 16, 2024, I visited this restaurant. The male waiter was rude and glared at me. It was the worst service I have ever experienced. After asking for the bill I had to wait about 30 minutes for him to come. If he doesn't enjoy this work, he should look for another job.

Food was good, there were 7 of us and we had all ordered starters and main courses, but a lot of things didn't arrive at the table.

We had the food delivered. After a short delivery time, the driver (Uber eat) was there and briefly complained about two flights of stairs he had to climb. Checked the bag with the food and found that there was only one of the desserts. When you ordered this dessert on the website it was advertised as 2 for 1. When asked, it was explained that the second one would be delivered later. So after an hour there was still no delivery, I called again. In this phone call it was explained that the dessert would only be available if you ordered directly on the restaurant's homepage. The suggestion that this information was misleading was ignored in a rather unfriendly manner. When I accessed the website again, this offer was also deleted. A no go for me. Not this restaurant again.
