I recently dined at Coast by East in Hamburg, and it was an exceptional experience. The ambiance was chic and inviting, with stunning views that added to the charm. The service was attentive and friendly, further enhancing our evening. While the restaurant is on the pricier side, the quality and overall experience made it worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Moin Folks, seit der Eröffnung tauchen wir hier auf, mal mehr und oftmals leider auch weniger, dennoch ist das hier ein optischer Genusstempel zum guten verweilen. The food and service are good, but not to the extent that the prices are justified. I don't find the ambience and location particularly exciting. The loud music and tight seating arrangement made conversation difficult. Overall I was disappointed. The price-performance ratio doesn't fit. 170 euros for two people and at home I had to make a sandwich.

As a fan of classic sushi and sashimi, my toenails sometimes curl up here. But if you say what you want, it works, and it's super tasty! So great service and something for all preferences

Very tasty sushi. Selection and quality are definitely at a very high level. The service is friendly and attentive. However, with a reservation time of two hours, there is a bit of a tight schedule with starter, main course and dessert. The coffee is also highly recommended and the atmosphere is really great and cozy.

Sushi & Sashimi á la Chef is a chef's creation that will explode the taste buds. A little bit of everything, very high quality, top quality and unique. An extensive wine and cocktail list, the waterfront location and the very friendly service made our visit a culinary experience. We would love to come back.

By far the best sushi restaurant!

A great space, like an upside down ship. Great service. Unfortunately the food can't keep up at all. The tempura were small scampi like from take-away, full of store-bought sauce. Salt, soup and sushi were ok. Unfortunately not anymore. I would say a bad price-performance ratio. What I don't understand at all with the name East and the concept of sushi etc is the Wassee from Italy and the huge poster with spaghetti 🍝

Friday afternoon/ evening reservation for a family group of 6 adults, two 2yos, one 1yo and two dogs. Super atmosphere thanks to amazing staff. Other guests were kind and seemed happy. Any additional request was handled really well. Food was absolutely delicious. And price was adequate given the quality and taste. Will come again and will recommend. 5/5 stars. Keep it up coast by east! 🫶🏽

Ebru was the perfect accompaniment for a great evening. It has never been as uncomplicated as it is today. The pointed cabbage from Pandelis was great.

The ambience was also great, great view, great furnishings and very modern and clean toilets. The sushi was delicious, but I've eaten better ;) All in all a great restaurant and can only be recommended.

Very tasty food, great atmosphere! In particular, the family-friendliness is particularly positive, as you are rarely welcomed into restaurants with children. Changing facilities, high chairs and little surprises for older children. The service was very warm. The prices are a bit higher, but you won't be disappointed.

We were completely impressed by the restaurant. Particularly noteworthy is the first-class service from the waitress, who made the evening perfect with her attentiveness and friendliness. No wish remained unfulfilled, she interacted with us throughout the evening without seeming intrusive and gave very good recommendations. The sushi and especially the miso were excellent - the dessert of the day recommended by the waitress, which is not on the menu, should be highlighted. The cocktails are absolutely recommended. Each of them is specially coordinated and creatively designed.

Nice and interesting selection of drinks with sodas and cocktails, even the non-alcoholic ones are worth a try Sixth Sense is recommended! The miso soup is very good, as is the cod with miso We also had crispy duck salad, crunchy udon and mashed potatoes

Completely overpriced! The view of the water and the Elfi are very nice, as is the large terrace outside. However, the food is standard and sometimes very salty (from soy sauce or similar). There really are better addresses.

What a wonderful evening, from the initial reservation to the service to the excellent food, simply outstanding. Even the request to change tables from inside to outside was checked and implemented. To give it a special touch, there was live music from a very talented singer (Selina).

Want a great lunch spot that overlooks the Elbe? Then coast by East will be your spot! The views offered at this restaurant are fantastic, letting you gaze out at the new skyline of Hamburg. The last time I was in Hafen City was 2018, so returning to this new skyline was amazing. Service was excellent and friendly and all staff are proficient with English. In terms of the food, we ordered the Chef’s omakase sushi. Overall it was good, not out of this world, but good. There’s a lot of creativity with the sushi there.

I had a soup that unfortunately I didn't like. My husband had a sushi roll and thought it was delicious. The drinks were delicious. I also found it a bit expensive. A roll €17 and the soup broth and 4 dumplings for €8.50

Everything just fits here! From the reservation, to the escort to the table, the service, the food and the wine. We had reserved a table in advance, which was actually only available for two hours. Ebru, who not only ensured that we had excellent sushi but also that we didn't have to leave after two hours, made the evening perfect. A service worker who loves her job. So if you like eating sushi, you've come to the right place and will be happy to come back.

The location is really unique, you have a phenomenal view of the Elbphilharmonie. The service was really very accommodating. If you just looked at the food, the price would be outrageous, but since you have to take the whole ambience of the restaurant into account, it's ok. It's something special and not for every day.

There was nothing to complain about, price/performance, outstanding food and an ambience like you can't imagine. My recommendation is the sushi and the spicy edamame as a starter. The best time to sit outside is around 7:30 p.m. because you can see it there Sunset with a view of the Elbphilharmonie A dream, great service.

Incredibly good sushi! The service was great, Mehdi was very attentive and also gave us great recommendations; The sushi was really delicious and the visual presentation was a real feast for the eyes. There was a fresh water bowl with two ice cubes for my dog, which he really liked in the warmer weather! The cocktails in the cute tiki cups were also a highlight! The view of the Elbphilharmonie is the icing on the cake. Absolutely worth every penny!

Sushi is not tasty at all. The staff discusses the guests and points fingers. The location is good. If you're hungry, is it worth coming here? No. Just drink plain water, since lemonades are terrible

Nice view and good food but unfortunatly bad service. Ordered a bottle of wine and main course, the food arrived and still no wine. Had to ask for it and when the third waiter finnaly brought it he poured just a little then put the bottle away in an ice bucket far away. Did not pay attention when we needed a top up. They were busy talking to their friends. The main waitress even sat down with her friends instead of paying attention.

A restaurant that gets 5 stars from me in all respects! Absolutely great. There were two of us there, a top table by the window with a great view, then Queen Mary II sailed past. The service is great, there is a lot of staff, everything happens very quickly, but you never feel pressured to leave. We'll definitely come back! Yes, expensive, but worth every euro!

What we ordered was very good. The dessert was plain chocolate, not very special. Super friendly service. We were on the terrace, the last place on the corner, the best views in my opinion and without people. Perfect :)

Beautiful, stilish venue with a fantastic view on the water. Service is kind and professional and their sushi is just perfect. I must also add that I was surprised by how reasonable the bill was at the end. We enjoyed our dinner at a wonderful August sunset, and the whole experience was literally unforgettable. We have loved Hamburg and spending the evening at Coast was very much part of it.

The waiters were very nice and did their job very well plus the food was a dream. The view was beautiful and the restaurant looked very nice. I can highly recommend Coast By East and I'm looking forward to the next visit.

Extrem enttäuschend und die große Frage woher die vielen guten Bewertungen kommen. Wenn man Sushi der extraklasse wie zb im Nikkei Nine kennt, kann man hier nur nahezu entsetzt sein. Schon der Empfang war arrogant statt herzlich. Das Ambiente ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen, Dschungel meets Kantine. Das Sushi und die Vorspeisen selbst, puh wir wussten wirklich nicht was wir sagen sollen. Alles war in Fertigsossen ertränkt, die Sushi Rolls waren derart lieblos und dilettantisch gewickelt dass es beim Japanischen Imbiss am Bahnhof besser ist. Wir haben nur ca 20% gegessen und das alles kommuniziert und mussten dennoch alles zahlen zu aberwitzigen Preisen. Nie mehr, dafür gibt es auch zu viel hervorragende Gastronomie in Hamburg wo man zudem liebevoll empfangen wird.

Coole Location in der Hafen City mit grosser Terrasse und schönem Innenraum mit grünem Ambiente. Sehr gute japanisch inspirierte moderne Küche mit sehr feinen Maki- und Sashimi-Kreationen. Nicht ganz original, aber fein. Besonders zu erwähnen sind die hervorragenden Drinks - auch spezielle Mocktails sind darunter. Die Barkeeperin machte bei unseren beiden Besuchen einen Wahnsinnsjob den ganzen Abend lang. Service ist ebenfalls sehr sympathisch, flink und kompetent.

The two of us were there last weekend with a prior reservation. The service at coast by east was excellent. From reception to the friendly reception, to the attentive but not intrusive service staff who put together a sushi plate for us - everything was just right. The food was extremely good, the wine was perfectly chilled and the lemonade we ordered, “Green Tea Cucumber Lemonade,” was delicious. Thank you very much for the great service and the perfect evening at coast by east. We'd love to come back!

Excellent dinner (altho not authentically Asian) and overall good service. The vibe/ambience is a little flashier than is my norm but I totally enjoyed it. I ordered the Tuna Tartare in Romaine Lettuce which was delicious, and the Hot (i.e. spicy) Tuna Roll which they kindly made for me without the seaweed wrap. The dessert was an absolute standout: coast Monte with Hazelnuts, White Chocolate and and Nut Ice Cream. This is a very popular spot with all ages and also business types as well as groups of friends. They have a beautiful terrace as well. And the front of house staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.

We had ordered a table for 3 people in the outside area. We were told on the phone that it wouldn't be a problem at all. When we were there, all the outside seats were occupied, only one table was still free. And there was no way they could give us that table. Otherwise, according to the operator's original tone, she would be terminated. Questionable statement. Less than 10 minutes later, 4 people with dogs arrived and enjoyed an unmistakable extra treatment. Difficult. The food was great and the terrace was also very nice.

I went and didn't stay, I arrived at 9:50 pm and they told me they could no longer serve dinner! On Instagram and Google it says that dinner is served until 10pm! All good So I said I would accept drinks and they simply said that I would either have to sit at the bar or outside (where it wasn't a pleasant environment) everyone was very rude and didn't insist on me staying in the restaurant.

This is a great restaurant in the cool port area of Hamburg. The menu is Japanese and we ordered salmon and tuna sushi rolls to start, followed by miso cod with sides of mashed potato and spinach. The food was all fresh and delicious, as was the accompanying Riesling. The restaurant had a cool interior and large outdoor terrace on the waterfront. Service was friendly and professional.

Nice place in Hafen City, great service, delicious food. They brought a warm cappuccino for dessert and replaced it with a piping hot one without any problems. To be honest, I was most impressed by the sink in the toilet, even more so by the sushi with carrots. Sink fire! Now I want one to take home
