Delicious food, very friendly staff, and a beautiful location. I would highly recommend it!

We went to the "Winter Magic" event today... but there was very little magic to be seen. The ladies serving mulled wine were very unfriendly and grumpy. The "Kibberlinge" (a type of fish nugget) for €8.50 were unacceptable. Five small "Kibberlinge" (about the size of McDonald's nuggets), soggy and greasy – sad (probably frozen). The fries weren't cooked properly and were also soggy. We're used to much better service from restaurants – the "Winter Magic" event was a complete disappointment. We unfortunately won't be coming back and will instead go to the Christmas market – at least the price-performance ratio is okay there, and the service is friendly.

We dined there on December 2nd, 2025. We were served by a young woman. We were undecided about what to order, and she said she had other things to do. That alone was reason enough for us to have left. The appetizer was a foie gras pâté. It was ice-cold, straight from the refrigerator. At that temperature, it couldn't develop any flavor. My wife ordered a rack of Duke pork. The green beans with bacon were dried out and didn't look appealing. My venison medallion lacked any sauce or cooking fat. The accompanying vegetables looked like they had been cooked for a while and then reheated in a pan. Since I didn't finish the venison medallion, I asked them to pack up the rest. That was the absolute worst part. The already dry venison medallion was wrapped in a napkin, so that the last of the juices were sucked out. We then had to pay an additional six euros for the restaurant's parking lot with a barrier. I don't think we'll ever go there again.

Currywurst and fries were mediocre and far too expensive.

With the exception of the genuinely friendly and helpful head waiter of color, the service was, to put it mildly, mediocre and below average! What a shame!

My daughter and I went for a walk in the park and fancied a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake. We went into the Astoria and were greeted warmly, albeit with a typical Cologne bluntness. Because it was so amusing, our mood was immediately brightened. The service continued in a similarly cheeky and very funny vein. The teas were freshly brewed and the cakes were delicious. The owner even stopped by to ask how we were. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely go again, even though the prices were rather... high.

Our first goose dinner was a culinary delight. The goose was carved right at our table and was incredibly crispy and juicy. The side dishes were perfectly cooked, and the baked apple for dessert was a wonderful finishing touch. Combined with the breathtaking view of the lake, it was simply a perfect experience. Highly recommended.

Disappointing Goose Menu Dampens the Overall Impression We had reserved a table at Club Astoria for today (12 noon). We ordered a Wiener Schnitzel, a tuna steak, and the goose menu with breast and leg. The Wiener Schnitzel was impeccably prepared, and the tuna steak was also very tasty – both were excellent. Unfortunately, the goose menu, at €44 the most expensive dish at our table, did not live up to this impression. The portion was noticeably small, and both the breast and leg were tough and dry. It seemed as if the dish had simply been reheated. Furthermore, the gravy was completely out of place – it tasted like any generic gravy with no connection to the goose. Although we noted this to the server and passed it on to the kitchen, it did not result in any price reduction. This is particularly disappointing for a dish in this price range.

Beautiful view of the Adenauer Weiher lake. Enjoy a sausage and a delicious Kölsch beer before an FC Bayern game. The restaurant upstairs is a bit more expensive, but it's good. It's best to check the website to see when and where it's open.

We went there for brunch. The service was excellent. The food was plentiful and delicious. All in all, 4 out of 5 stars.

It was a tip from locals to go to the restaurant rather than the beer garden, as they have a different menu. The food was really good and beautifully presented. The staff was very attentive and had a great grasp of the Cologne dialect 😁 Dogs are also welcome there, and even the fact that a strange dog was lying under my chair the whole time wasn't a problem 🐕🤗 We'll definitely be back. 5🌟

The outdoor area impresses with its idyllic location and view of the pond – a real highlight for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. Despite the busy schedule, the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired in places, which somewhat dampened the overall experience. We were treated to pasta and fresh chanterelle mushrooms, followed by a blueberry roll for dessert – both solid and flavorful, ideal for everyday enjoyment and good value for money. Overall, a highly recommended spot, especially for relaxing hours outdoors.

I was Mrs. G's companion. My own dish was goat cheese with some salad garnish, so it wasn't comparable to my companion's Caesar salad. However, I saw and tried it – it was anything but fresh! There were no tomatoes in it, and that was never mentioned. The ready-made falafel was also completely inedible. After complaining to an employee, not an entire team!, they simply offered me the same salad again, which was understandably declined. Instead, we agreed on a Kölsch beer, which was then charged. I also personally perceived the statement that the manager refused to offer a credit. There may be many satisfied guests, but it's a shame when the perception of individual guests is so completely questioned. The criticism was expressed calmly and constructively – unfortunately, without any real response. This was unfortunately confirmed later. A shame!

Inedible! The "Caesar Salad" from the beer garden for €19! was wilted, carelessly presented, and poorly seasoned, the falafel dry, ready-made. This has nothing to do with fresh cooking. Complaining was pointless: Instead of understanding, we were given excuses – and we were even asked to re-serve the frozen falafel fiasco that was sold as a "bestseller." As "compensation," we were given a Kölsch beer, which we were still charged for in the end. Conclusion: Rude, unprofessional, and the worst meal I've ever had in Cologne. Never again!

Yes, absolutely. In the summer, it's great to sit outside and enjoy delicious food. It's also great for families, with its own playground.

I've only been to the beer garden at the Astoria so far, and the ambiance and overall experience there have always been great. However, I expected a bit more from the restaurant itself. Unfortunately, the property is a bit dated – certainly suitable for large gatherings, but less so for a brunch at the hefty €52. If you're not a club member, you get seats in the fifth row of the "lake view," which is actually included in the price – next to the sliding doors, which gives it more of a cafeteria feel. Added to that is the lackluster music selection, which unfortunately doesn't improve the overall impression. The food is good, and the oysters are probably the social highlight – if you like oysters. The staff makes an effort, but also points out the now-common "staff shortage."

A pure delight on the terrace in the bright sunshine. Very friendly service and the best cappuccino in ages. We'd love to come back.

I've been here several times for lunch. They serve delicious snacks, although that's an understatement, as the portions are quite large. The seating is very comfortable with a view of the lake, and the service is friendly and attentive. When the weather's nice, it's like a few hours of vacation.

I was in the beer garden at Club Astoria today. I highly recommend this beer garden. Great atmosphere, great food, and first-class service. In my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful beer gardens in Cologne and the surrounding area.

I was invited there for a birthday party and had never heard of it before, even as an FC Bayern fan. I was absolutely thrilled with the location, the view, the ambiance, the very friendly service, and the food. Highly recommended!

I received brunch vouchers from my husband as a birthday present. Reservations are made online with a time specified, but there is no time limit. We walked from the parking lot to the building in the rain. The complex feels like a lost place. We got a table at 11:30 in the restaurant right next to the winter garden overlooking the lake. The restaurant is already busy, and many are celebrating birthdays there. The interior is understated, with a fresh rose on the table. The positives first: 1. For oyster lovers like me, the brunch is perfect. Finally, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat oysters. The quality is good, and the oysters have a sweet sea aroma. 2. The service staff was attentive and friendly. Dirty plates were quickly collected. Except for the shift manager, who seemed very reserved and barely greeted any guests. 3. The cooking team was very accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately, we still can't recommend the brunch because: 1. The selection is poor for the price of €58 per person. Aside from oysters, a whole salmon, and a smoked fish platter, there are no fresh seafood options like shrimp, mussels, etc. The hot dishes were very limited, and the vegetarian dishes lacked flavor or were too dry. There were live cooking windows with egg-latte waffles and sirloin steak, but unfortunately, there was no wow factor. What you get there has little to do with fine dining. A few fresh fruits were offered, but the melons were unfortunately not very ripe. The pineapple was very tasty. 2. The food presentation is lackluster. Where the food is, it's far too dark! A few USB lamps (wireless) could work wonders. The presentation is also at the level of a fast-food restaurant. 3. The veneer furniture in the restaurant is showing signs of wear and tear. They are comfortable, though. 4. The toilet stinks after 1 p.m. In my opinion, there's plenty of room for improvement.

We had a lovely brunch this Sunday. A fantastic selection of dishes, very good quality and taste. Attentive, friendly service, and a great atmosphere.

Cologne's most beautiful terrace

I was invited to a party where the buffet was organized by the on-site team – and I was pleasantly surprised! The whole thing was not only extremely delicious, but also beautifully presented. The fish with cucumber and lemon dressing alone was a visual eye-catcher. There was a really good selection: from fresh salads and vitello tonnato to homemade dips, salmon platters, caprese, and lovingly prepared appetizers in a glass. The quality of the products was top-notch – everything was fresh, flavorful, and visually appealing. Even the bread and butter were beautifully presented, which is something you don't see everywhere. The entire setting was super stylish: a bright, modern space, beautiful decor (especially the flowers hanging from the ceiling 😍), and a very pleasant atmosphere – ideal for private parties or events. The service team was also consistently friendly and helpful.

A beer garden with a stunning view, delicious food, and good drinks, for a bit more. There's a small children's playground and plenty of space to run around, and even the opportunity for ball games for the little ones. In good weather, it's a lakeside holiday feeling.

Sunday brunch. The food was good, as was our seating area. Thankfully, we weren't in the main hall, which was packed and very loud. Unfortunately, our assigned server wasn't at the table regularly and seemed quite irritated. We would have liked more drinks, especially given the temperature. Brunch runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and we all felt that the air conditioning was turned down at 1:45 p.m., so everyone was out on time. Otherwise, the location was great.

Really crazy: We made an online reservation for outside and got confirmation via email. When we got there, we were told that although it was confirmed, they would decide on-site who could sit outside and who couldn't. And we weren't allowed to sit outside (even though three-quarters of the tables were empty), and we were allowed/had to leave because we didn't want to sit inside.

The food was delicious and the staff super friendly. We felt very comfortable.

We reserved and confirmed a table outside. Once we got there, we were told that the outside tables were reserved for other guests. Then we had to leave because, due to the weather, we only had sunglasses with us. Never again.

The restaurant and beer garden are very nice, and the food and service in the restaurant are excellent. The beer garden is also highly recommended, especially when the weather is nice. However, I find it increasingly annoying when you arrive on a weekend when the weather is nice and the entire restaurant is closed for a private event. It's a real shame when Google Maps says it's open, and you don't constantly check every restaurant or business website.

Today was our first time at Club Astoria for brunch. Everything was delicious, freshly cooked, and there was a wide selection. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Children are also welcome here; there were several families with children there.

Excellent in every respect, fully meets the requirements of its category, outstanding service, special mention goes to Mr. Masala, beautiful location on the lake with a large, comfortable terrace, ideal for a lovely walk or even a hike in the expansive landscape.

Top location. Top service. Totally reasonable value for money. Very good and tasty food. Very quick, efficient, attentive, and friendly staff. There's a small playground with a goal and sandbox for children. The lawn between the beer garden and the lake is perfect for kids anyway. For holidays, FC Bayern Munich match days, and other special occasions, there are always new ideas for serving guests outside with new drink stations. Great idea, and you don't have to wait forever for drinks. Great.

I visited the Astoria for a private event. The location is truly beautiful and the interior is beautifully decorated. The staff were all very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Everything I tried of the food was good—not Michelin-starred, but appropriate for the setting.

Today I was a guest at Sunday brunch. It's actually an excellent, almost opulent offering—if you're not a vegetarian. The lavish offerings, both at breakfast and lunch, are largely meat-based. Various jams, spreads, and cream cheese—none of them. Yes, there is a medium-sized cheese board, but it's quickly devoured. And there are so many more vegetarian options than cheese! The hot dishes are just side dishes. A restaurant of this quality should urgently invest in creativity, as vegetarians (and vegans too) will no longer be exotic in 2025.

We were in a group for dinner at the Astoria Restaurant. The food was almost unappetizingly large portions, nicely presented, but the taste was mediocre. The dip that was brought had to be paid extra. The restaurant is located by the lake and has a very nice view. Due to the lack of textiles, the acoustics are too loud for an upscale restaurant. It is very tiring for older people to converse. The service was understaffed with one person responsible for half of the restaurant. In addition to the high prices, the parking space has to be paid extra at €6.

Very nice terrace to have a drink with views of the lake. The only thing is that there are long lines to order. They don't serve you at the table. Ideal for large groups too.

Really nice location, especially the outdoor dining with a view of the lake. Food very good, service super nice. The brunch menu is extensive and good, but it's a bit tight for vegans. The price for the brunch is already in the upper price segment, so... and that's why you get the star deduction... I think it's too much to charge another 10 euros for the parking ticket.

Great service and the best truffle pasta.

If you are looking for very good food in a more traditional environment and appreciate fast service, this is the place for you. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of a warm and inviting ambience and warm service. The little Raier in front of the restaurant is an absolute eye-catcher.

Yes, The Winter Dream was very good, food was delicious, prices were reasonable and drinks were delicious.
