China Restaurant Kaisergarten in Villingen-Schwenningen

Today's delivery took an exceptionally long time. The fried sushi arrived soggy, and the ginger wasn't fresh and was brown. We love eating at the restaurant, but unfortunately, the food doesn't arrive at home in the same quality.

Great in the 80s, still a good choice in 2025: Why? 1 Summary: Fresh ingredients, skillful preparation, varied menu, always attentive service, good value for money, sushi as the highlight, lunch a delicious bargain. 2 Explanation: The food is skillfully prepared with fresh vegetables and fruit, as well as impeccable meat. Vegetarians are just as satisfied here as guests looking for a culinary change. Details like Asian beer, rice in a covered bowl, and the crispy breading complete the picture. When it comes to spring rolls, however, you should get the large ones. I have one critical point: Hopefully, the watery sauce served with the "sweet and sour main course" will be replaced, as its taste is below discounter standards. The bamboo wall paneling looks great; get a table there or by the row of windows facing the street. The plastic plant screen does what it's supposed to, but doesn't enhance the space. Good hygiene, restrooms always very clean, but could use an upgrade. The service is fast and attentive; everything is perfect. The change of ownership was noticeable at first, but now the new owners are firmly in place. I would recommend 4.5 stars. Just go there; you could start by trying the inexpensive, delicious lunch menu. The fortune cookies are a pleasure to eat. I've been collecting the sayings for years; it's interesting how often they fit.

Everything is very good, the only thing is that sometimes they forget about small orders, and then it takes 40-60 minutes, and sometimes it’s a bit expensive to wait for service, but these are the only inconveniences that I noticed, and this is without the contrast of other restaurants

Since we only ever have our food delivered and have never eaten there, I unfortunately have to deduct a star 🌟, but no more than that. Everything looks very nice in the photos, but it all depends on how you like the food! You really can't complain; everything is always warm and delicious 😋 when it arrives.

The food is okay, but there are definitely better restaurants in terms of quality. Incredibly unfriendly, listless, and inattentive service. I've rarely experienced anything like it. Hygiene in the restaurant also needs improvement.

Yes wonderful Chinese food and great freshly made sushi

We went there for lunch, and although it doesn't look like much from the outside, it looks all the more beautiful inside. The staff are super friendly and are happy to advise you on dishes. Highly recommended, as the lunch menu and the price-performance ratio are great. We really enjoyed it, nothing was dry and everything was pleasantly juicy, you don't even need any sauce for the pasta.

Very good food, delicious, large portions. Finally, when asked for "very spicy please," they actually got it very spicy! Unfortunately, the service wasn't what you'd expect; it was obviously new and overwhelmed. Answering new guests who ask a question with "huh?" is completely unacceptable.

I am really happy with the duck noodle and chicken fried rice we had. Good Quantity of Food. Very pleasant and warm service. Felt happy inside the restaurant as the atmosphere was so nice.

We stopped by spontaneously for lunch and ordered something from the lunch menu. The portion was huge and incredibly delicious. We weren't expecting that. The prices are quite reasonable, and the service was excellent.

Eternal waiting time and wrong food even though I ordered twice

I called and asked if they offer the all you can eat service (fixed price and unlimited food like a buffet) but they didn't even understand what that was.

A small restaurant, I always find it full. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak times. Very tasty and appealing Asian dishes. Rice and noodle dishes and a great sushi selection. A real tip for Schwenningen. But you have to bring some time, it's worth it. We'd love to come back.

Taste and quality of the food was great. The restaurant was busy, which is why the meal took a while. However, it was worth the wait. Had sushi and a bowl, although I haven't had such a good bowl in a long time, especially at such a fair price. Definitely deserves a better rating.

We waited half an hour before we could order. That's only because we ran after the waitress. My Hong Kong vegetables were totally over-seasoned and only tasted like soy sauce. Unfortunately not a culinary experience.

September 2024 We stood on the mobile home parking lot in Bad Dürrheim. From here you have to walk a distance to reach a restaurant. Unfortunately. It's even better that you can order something. And we were very pleased with the really delicious and fine food from the Kaisergarten. The crispy duck, spring rolls etc were really great. You could taste that all fresh ingredients were used. Very generous portions were also delivered. Gladly again and again when we are here in the region. Thanks to the team.👍👍👍👍👍

Good value for money... especially with the lunch menu

A very good Chinese restaurant with a very extensive menu. A very attractive atmosphere with comfortable seats. Cleanliness was top notch, table decorations were appropriate. Service courteous. The dishes have a price that absolutely matches the portion and quality. Absolutely perfect in terms of taste.

Unfortunately not good :( Far too little sauce (really just a small plastic cup, see photo), and the vegetables were the joke of the day: a box full of bamboo shoots with a few mini shreds of carrot for color. The rice, the chicken and that Sushi were okay.

Whether sushi or normal... Everything is recommended. The menu is very well detailed and has pictures.

Choice of food and prices are good. Very good selection of lunch options. Service friendly and quick. But the ambience could be a little better, hence only 4 stars. But still recommended.

The food was extremely tasty... the trip to Schwenningen was really worth it, especially because of the great food at the Chinese restaurant "Kaisergarden"!!!😋😋😋 Highly recommended. We'll definitely come back.

For 5 stars, that certain something is still missing, but you can definitely eat very tasty food here! The quality and taste of the dishes is really top. Of course it would be a bit more comfortable with air conditioning ;)

Were kicked out because there were 5 of us and they didn't have room.

The five of us wanted to go out to eat, the lady wanted to give us a table and the other waiter then kicked us out. We eat there often, a shame...are very shocked.

I have to upgrade my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars because I came here with my girlfriend and I was once again surprised at how tasty the food was. It takes a long time to prepare but it's worth the time to get tasty food.

We ate here as a family of 8 people. A very nice, small and well-kept restaurant. Food was very good and also very tasty. There is a wide selection from sushi to soups, pasta and rice dishes. So there is something for everyone. Price-performance ratio is also good. The only complaint we had was that we had to wait a long time for our drinks after ordering. When it comes to eating, it's still understandable because everything is freshly prepared, especially the sushi takes time, but for us the drinks came just before the meal. Maybe it was also because there was just a lot going on that evening. But otherwise everything was very good.

At Kaisergarten, the dining experience was mixed: The Wang Tang appetizer was very good, but the main course and the sushi boat were just average. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately, I had to wait over 1.5 hours for my meal, while others at the table were served much earlier. This long wait significantly dampened the overall experience.

We have been going to the restaurant on and off for years and are thrilled every time. We almost always eat the sushi menu 15 and it tasted really good back then with the old owners and it still tastes great today with the new owners. The price-performance ratio of the dish is completely right. The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. The waiting time for the court can sometimes just be a little longer. However, it is always worth it for us. The menu costs 17.90 euros. Together with a large Fanta I paid around 22 euros and left very full and happy. In the photo, menu 15 is served 4 times on the 2 ships. So 2 menus per ship.

We enjoyed a great meal from their large and diverse menu. Portions were very generous and of high quality for a great value. Also great service and nice clean washrooms as a bonus! We’ll be back on future visits!

There is a large selection of sushi here, but there are also plenty of meat dishes to choose from. The portions are generous with lots of meat and also lots of fresh vegetables. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable.

The food and service on site are top! Only the suppliers are under the radar. Repeatedly no change is taken and extremely unfriendly treatment. Delivery time is super fast, but the suppliers simply ruin it. Unfortunately I won't be ordering anymore, I'll just eat on site. Hopefully the situation will change soon

Absolutely positively surprised by the price-performance ratio! The donburi and the sushi/sashimi were of excellent quality, tasted great and were also within the price range. The service was very friendly and attentive. An absolute recommendation. We will come back :)

The delivery was quick, which is a positive thing. But unfortunately a culinary drama unfolded: spilled sauce decorated the packaging, and instead of the desired wonton, a completely different dish was presented. This surprise caused irritation. After my husband tried the beef, the culinary disappointment turned into a health inconvenience - stomach upset and diarrhea occurred. The thought of spoiled meat comes to mind. Not only is it regrettable to have spent money on an unpleasant experience, but it also raises the question of whether the quality of the ingredients is under scrutiny here. May the future bring more careful preparation and delivery to avoid such unpleasant episodes.

Ein sehr gutes Restaurant, mit eine tolles Mittag Menu…

Nett eingerichtetes Lokal mit Heizkörpern die das Fett zum schmelzen bringen, man hat es kaum ausgehalten. Vielleicht könnte das Essen günstiger werden wenn man Energiekosten einspart :-) Der Service war mässig aufmerksam, um ein zweites Getränk zu erlangen musste man dann schon deutlich werden. Geschmacklich war es nicht besonders, leider extrem fettig. Die WanTan Füllung eher klein im Gegensatz zum Teig. Die Mitarbeiter waren stets höflich und es kam immer wieder mal ein lockerer Spruch.

Das Brötchen mit Aal und Garnelen im Teig war einfach göttlich😇👍

The food is good, even the choice of sushi was way better than the average Chinese-sushi (which I normally avoid as Sushi is, well…Japanese). The sushi rice was kinda ok, and there was a wide choice of Nigiri. But again, I try to avoid any sushi that’s not made by a proper Japanese chef. That said, the Chinese food was good as well as the service, the owners are super nice and friendly! We had a good time with good food.
