China Palast in Bad Driburg

We ate there again after a year's break, and we have to say the restaurant has improved significantly compared to our last visits. The food tastes much better, and the price-performance ratio is perfectly reasonable. The service is also excellent, so we'll definitely be coming back more often.

The food was very tasty, top-notch in terms of flavor. Everything was fresh. The service was also very quick and helpful. The buffet wasn't particularly extensive, and unfortunately, there was no deli counter for self-service. A big request to management: after we got home, we noticed how much our clothes smelled like fast food. That shouldn't be the case.... Hence the price of €19.50.

We were spontaneously looking for somewhere to eat and just went here. There was no problem finding a seat, but they had only been open for 10 minutes. The welcome was truly excellent for us and all the subsequent guests. We were immediately noticed, and someone came right to the entrance to greet everyone and show us to a table. Very commendable. The food is absolutely delicious. Sushi, soup, noodles, rice, meat, fish, fruit, cake. Everything was there, and of very good quality. We'll gladly come back again if needed.

The best Chinese restaurant around! Much better than the ones in Paderborn. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and I really like the atmosphere. It's always a real treat to eat here.

The food was mediocre. The fried food was too saturated with fat. The fried noodles were undercooked and swimming in soy sauce. The shrimp were like rubber balls.

After a bike ride, I ordered a portion of chicken fried rice to-go over the phone. The pickup time was 15 minutes and the price was €10.50. The portion was large and very well packaged. After about 20 minutes, the food was still piping hot! The chicken tasted first-class and fresh! For my taste, it could have used a bit more vegetables. Bean sprouts were completely missing, hence one star less.

@Energetic Man, I don't know where you ate, but definitely NOT where you left the review! They're always happy when I come. Card payments have been accepted at least 10 times out of 10. They even gave me Wi-Fi without asking any questions. So maybe in the future, I'll check to see if this encounter wasn't actually related to you, rather than the person opposite. Because if they reacted as badly as you claim, I would have noticed at some point. I can only say that there's a reason why I've eaten there so many times. It's a family atmosphere, they're ALL incredibly nice, and the food tastes just as good every time. Today it was even better than usual, even though I thought it couldn't get any better. The best Chinese restaurant I've been to so far! Until today, I've always been there with my girlfriend, and she loves it too. I could eat the chicken, the rice/noodles, the sauces, the mushrooms (😋), and the fish every day! I'm glad we have something so good here in Bad Driburg. Important and right.✌🏽🫱🏾‍🫲🏽

The selection isn't much like what we're used to, but it was tasty and, above all, warm! Ambiance is typically furnished. There were a lot of guests there, so it was very loud.

Buffet is ok in terms of quantity, lots of choice. The quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired: I was incredibly thirsty all night (glutamate?) and had diarrhea the next day. There was also an incredibly strong smell of grease in the rooms, my clothes really stank, disgusting... Conclusion: For €19.50 at the buffet you get a lot of food, which is just what you want rent well. I think this will be my first and last time staying there.

I had dinner at the buffet there yesterday on February 12, 2025. The food is average and sits in the bowls for a long time. The restaurant smells like grease. Your own clothes, body, the entire car and even the tempo towels in the pack in your jacket pocket smell of grease. I first had to shower at home and throw all my clothes in the laundry. Unbearable. It was also criticized that I paid with my bank card, as cash would be better and free of charge. Not like that, not with me. Never again. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Unfortunately I can only give two stars. The food is tasteless. I've never eaten so badly. But that's not all that struck me negatively. There was a family with two small children on site. The parents paid zero attention to their children. So the children rummaged around in the food at the buffet with their hands. Or food from the plate thrown back into the pots. Then I lost the food. Unfortunately, the staff simply accepted this. It doesn't work at all! The service was friendly and food was always refilled. I don't recommend China Palace. Overall, the China Palast in Bad Driburg is a solid choice. The decoration is a bit old, but the restaurant was busy, probably because of the “All You Can Eat” offer. The service was very friendly and quick, which is always a plus. The food was okay – not great, but not bad by any means. Especially considering the prices, the value for money is right here. It's the only Chinese restaurant in Bad Driburg, and it's definitely perfect for a cozy, uncomplicated meal.

The negative reviews here are hard to understand. The prices are very cheap, but you can't expect top quality or fresh food. It is Asian-inspired Hong Kong cuisine, which is filling and provides the average person with taste. Therefore everything is good. However, the decoration is absolutely poor and run of the mill.

We ate a la carte. It was well attended, with most guests taking the buffet. Portions are very large. Taste is OK. However, we have had much better experiences. But of course it's a subjective feeling. The service is very nice and quick.

This was the worst Chinese restaurant ever! The drinks were a non-carbonated cola. When we asked for a new one, a new one arrived, but also without carbon dioxide. The statement was that you only get a lot of carbon dioxide from one barrel. Unfortunately the food was also inedible. The baked fish tasted old and the salmon was swimming in a fatty sauce. The noodles didn't taste like anything. The desserts also looked very old and bought. There were canned fruits on display near the fruit! The sushi was made with the wrong rice and then with ! raw! Vegetables provided! Really really bad restaurant.

Sunday lunch buffet in the spa is probably why it's so busy. I have rarely been treated so badly. Noisy, small buffet, food cold. Everything tasted the same. I rarely write bad reviews but this was a complete disaster. Went as a couple, never again.

We spontaneously went there for a buffet on a Sunday afternoon. Visually a chic shop. However, the aquarium with the fish is very tiny and not species-appropriate. The service was good and friendly, the food was delicious. Unfortunately, in my opinion, there is not much choice at the buffet, but you pay €20 per person plus drinks.

Normal Chinese restaurant with attentive service. The daily recurring buffet offers something for every taste. There is also a good selection of different starters and desserts. Unfortunately the quality of the duck is only satisfactory. Even after my third visit, I found mostly only sinewy and very dry pieces. Otherwise the restaurant is clean and worth a visit.

I miss the difference in taste, a lot of it tastes greasy, hardly any spices, it's a shame. The only exception is the vegetables broccoli and broken bones, which are not positive. I found the salad dressing to be a good choice.

The two of us were here without a reservation and a little before opening time on a Sunday evening. We were greeted very friendly and were allowed to choose a table. We then ordered drinks which came quickly and at good prices. The buffet was very well stocked, everything was always there and it was constantly being refilled. No queue at the buffet. The peanut sauce was great. I didn't find anything that was wrong. Soup, main course and dessert were all great. Don't be alarmed when paying either. Staff Too Food Top Price Top. If we are in the area again we would like to come back.

I don't know if, what they serve as "Sushi" is even made with rice and fish, it was the worst sushi that ever entered my mouth. It also left through my mouth. The rest of the food was decent not too good not too bad what you would expect from a restaurant like this.

Ente und Rind waren kaum genießbar. Die „Ente“ bestand zum großen Teil aus undefinierbaren Fettschichten. Das „Rind“ hatte eine Gummiartige Konsistenz und schmeckte auch nicht wirklich nach Rind. Die Qualität der Speisen liegt weit unterhalb von Billig-Imbissen. Kein Wunder also das der Laden Samstag mittags ziemlich leer war. Hierhin geht man einmal und dann nie wieder. Überhaupt ist es eine Zumutung seinen Gästen solche Speisen vorzusetzen. Selbst der Reis war richtig schlecht. Und das ist immer das Zeichen, bei dem man sofort weiß: Wer nicht mal in der Lage ist einen Reis auf den Tisch zu bringen der halbwegs genießbar ist der hat auch kein Problem damit in seinem Restaurant Speisen anzubieten die weit schlechter als jedes Fertiggericht sind. Lange, lange nicht so schlecht gegessen.

Sehr sehr leckeres Restaurant immer wieder gerne. Edit 2023: Weihnachtsbuffet mit der Familie. Es war sehr sehr viel los, dem entsprechend war es natürlich ein wenig Laut, das sollte man ABER wissen. Worauf ich hinnaus will, ist das trotz vollem Laden, das Essen immer aufgefüllt und Warm war. Wie immer sehr lecker.

Obwohl es Büffett-Tag war, hat man mir eine extra Frühlingsrolle gemacht. YammiYammi - super lecker, reichhaltiges Büffett. Tolle Auswahl! Sogar Chinesisches Bier gibt es hier.

Ich muss leider sagen, dass die Auswahl an Speisen überraschenderweise nicht besonders groß war und die Frische der Gerichte zu wünschen übrig ließ. Der Lachs war trocken und mit Öl durchtränkt, die Panade der Tintenfischringe war weich statt knusprig und auch die Pekingsuppe konnte nicht überzeugen. Einzig die Garnelen waren in Ordnung. Das Buffet mit den Süßspeisen war ebenfalls enttäuschend und hatte wenig mit chinesischem Essen zu tun, da es hauptsächlich gekauftes Tiramisu, Biskuitrollen, Eis und Dosenobst gab. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrungen kann ich dieses Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen.

Kann man schön und günstig Speisen

Wir haben leider einen falschen Zeitpunkt erwischt, es war dort eine größere Geburtstagsfeier. Es war sehr laut und leider war das Buffet immer wie leergefegt. Das Ambiente einfach sehr sehr schön. Vielleicht wäre es an einem anderen Tag besser gewesen. Geschmacklich war es ganz gut. Leider sehr wenig Auswahlmöglichkeiten

Gutes Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis . Gute Qualität . Freundliche Bedienung . Heute zweiter Besuch: Qualität nach wie vor gut aber deutlich teurer geworden. Lohnt immer noch.

Vor dem gestrigen Abschied von Bad Driburg besuchten wir auch wieder das dort einzige China-Restaurant. Wir nahmen kein Büffet , sondern wählten 3 vegetarische Gerichte von der Karte. Um es gleich zu sagen, dort vor Ort kann man keine wirklich authentische chinesische Küche erwarten, aber auf jeden Fall bekamen wir Top-Service und leckeres Essen in großzügigen Portionen zu äußerst moderaten Preisen. Alles, was wir im Restaurant nicht mehr verzehren konnten, packte man uns gerne als "Take away" ein. Super! Das nächste Mal kommen wir gerne wieder.
