Beautiful interior, relaxing atmosphere and very nice and helpful personel. The food was very delicious and neatly served, me and my family are definitely going to visit again!🙂

Beautifully decorated and super delicious vegan food. The sauces and shitaki mushrooms were especially delicious. The waitress wrote down one dish incorrectly when ordering, but she immediately took it back and brought us the correct one. Truly great! 👍🏻

I think the food was super delicious. Everything tasted great, and everything was delivered very quickly. The waitress was also very polite and helpful. Personal requests were accommodated. My recommendation: crunchy sushi No. 1 and the wonton soup.

Had the 'golden bowl' in the lunch menu. One single longan, no notable thai basil at all, very watery curry. Card payment only above 20, which is quite discriminative towards single diners. Overall mediocre. At least 100% vegan.

Delicious food, but a non-transparent surcharge spoils the impression We had a lovely evening at Chay – the homemade wontons were delicious, but the edamame could have used a little oil to better enhance the salt and chili. The udon noodles were delicious, as were the crunchy rolls with avocado. One negative surprise: When paying, an additional fee of €3.30 was charged because we paid with a non-EU corporate credit card – without prior notice. The waitress was friendly but couldn't explain the surcharge. It's a shame, because after an otherwise positive experience, it leaves a bad taste in our mouths.

We went there spontaneously, and there isn't a huge selection, but there's a good selection if you don't like sushi. I had a golden bowl and summer rolls. Both were very good. Super fresh and delicious!

Everything's vegan. Unbelievable. You can order anything here without hesitation, and it's incredibly delicious and varied...

I appreciated the speed of the service, and even though I was seated at a small table in the corner, I wasn't forgotten. Quite the opposite. There are set menus in the evening between €18 and €20. I also appreciated that there was a selection of mocktails instead of sticking to alcoholic drinks. However, I found there were far too many ice cubes, and I would have liked to have been asked if I wanted some in my drink. The rainy weather didn't justify the drink being so cold, in my opinion. The tasteful decor is also a plus. Be careful, it can get noisy inside. The manager (a woman wearing a white cardigan and vintage-style buttons) was particularly attentive and spoke English quite well. A little pricey, however, for about 15 pieces of sushi, but quite good, I must say.

Nicely decorated restaurant close to the main train station and the city center. It's very easy to get there. There are tables for 2 to 4 people or more. At lunchtime, there's a lunch menu with selected dishes. One dish and one drink from the lunch menu costs €13.90. The portion size is a bit smaller than usual. Of course, you can also order from the regular lunch menu. I had the Golden Bowl and wonton soup. Both were hot, delicious, and pleasantly seasoned. Highly recommended. The staff is friendly and asks if everything was okay or if there are any other requests. I felt comfortable here and would be happy to come back. Please note that card payments are only accepted at the €20 level.

I went there for dinner yesterday on a whim, without any expectations, but I was delighted because I'd seen all the positive reviews beforehand. And I was truly surprised by the warm welcome. After I arrived briefly and made my decision, my food was served, and less than a minute later, my drink was in front of me. The starter didn't take long to arrive. And I was more than thrilled with the main course; the fresh presentation of the main course was simply a 12/10. All of these reviews are completely justified, and I would visit this place again anytime. Even if you're not vegan, you can eat very well here.

I already knew the restaurant from a trip with friends, but when I was here recently with my mother, I was as happy as the first time. I am vegan myself, but my mother is not. I went on a city trip with her in Hamburg and a meal at Chay couldn't be missed. So we went to the well-located restaurant for dinner. I had udon, my mother had a curry with glass noodles. Both tasted excellent and we are still trying to get the taste as good as possible today. She was also convinced and didn't miss anything about the round dish. The homemade drinks are also eye-catchers. Otherwise, I'm always skeptical when restaurants make their own drinks because I often hope for something different. But the thirst quenchers here are really worth it. The portion size is also commendable. Even I, a person who can hardly be full, feel well served here and without any overly large portions. Afterwards you feel fit, fresh and light, ideal for further exploring Hamburg. My tip for both food and drinks is that everyone takes something different. This way you can try things out in a group and capture all the flavors of the cuisine. And don't see the restaurant as a "vegan restaurant", there is something for everyone here, it simply works even if no meat or similar is used. It doesn't always have to be like it's always said anyway ;). Really such a great restaurant, we can hardly stop raving about it.

I'm not vegan, but I often eat vegetarian food. Eggplants were tasty but too spicy. I couldn't eat it. I loved the vegan sushi. The worst is the noise. Very small space for so many people. The tables are so close that you can easily listen to the conversations of your neighbors, of course if you can hear. Before this, music is playing in the institution. The feeling that I visited the school canteen during recess. If you would like to sit quietly and talk, then I do not advise you to do it in the evening.

THE BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD! Travelling from London ( home town ) we have plenty of great vegan restaurants but non of it compare to Chay Vegan restaurant in Hamburg. We have visited this place 3 days in a row - just to try it out all the options… every meal is absolutely phenomenal.

We were visiting Hamburg and passed the restaurant by chance. We really liked the ambience so we went to the restaurant. The food was simply fantastic and super tasty, thanks to the staff for this great experience. P.S. If you open a branch in Stuttgart... we will become regulars.

Great Asian food! The udon noodles where really nice with a lot of crisp seasonal vegetables and a nice sauce. Service was incredibly fast - we got our food within what felt like 5minutes!

Absolutely recommended. Delicious vegan Asian dishes. Fast service, everything appetizingly prepared and very tasty. My second visit here and just as satisfied as the first time. The prices are still manageable. On my next trip to Hamburg I will go here again from the train station.

Had dinner there today. I really enjoyed it, my friends liked it. Unfortunately it's a bit too expensive but the food is delicious, the restaurant is very nice, we didn't have to wait 5 minutes to get a seat without a reservation and the service was very friendly.

I was eating alone on a Wednesday evening and spontaneously got a table - the restaurant was busy, which speaks for its popularity. The atmosphere is modern with a certain industrial charm: wooden benches, some upholstered chairs, overall cozy, if rather simple. The staff was friendly and attentive. My special request (udon noodles with vegetables and tofu, but without shiitake) was implemented without any problems - very pleasant. The food came extremely quickly, was hot and had a strong taste. The sauce was intense, almost a little too dominant, and the tofu could have been a little more generous. Nevertheless: delicious and freshly prepared. An unexpected highlight was the music - sounded a bit like a musical soundtrack, which was kind of bizarre, but also funny and charming. Conclusion: Delicious, vegan food in a relaxed atmosphere with good service. Perfect for an uncomplicated dinner – I would love to come back.

The food is great, a large selection of vegan dishes. Extra requests are well catered for. Especially in the evening, quite loud. The prices are okay.

A nice, vegan restaurant with very tasty food. We were there at lunchtime and luckily got a seat even though we didn't make a reservation. We were served quickly and friendly and the food was at the table quickly. We both chose "Lemongrass Rainbow", the dish was rated as "spicy" and it was really very spicy (but not unpleasant), so you get what you expect. It was a large enough portion and, above all, really tasty, and the price was also absolutely reasonable. Any time again, clear recommendation.

I ordered food here. The udon noodles were ok, but nothing special. The summer rolls were the smallest and most poorly filled I've ever seen. No trace of mango. Really a disgrace for the price! When the food was delivered there was no cutlery or at least chopsticks, udon noodles are not so good to eat with your hand... Overall, the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all, a shame!

From a professional gastronomic perspective, this restaurant is heartless and tasteless system catering with unhealthy sugary food and poor service.

Really enjoyed this place as our first evening meal out in Hamburg. Partner had a drier nooble dish with fried spring rolls and I had ramen with tofu, we did have some starters as well but I forgot to take photos. It was all really good though. Broad food and drink menus with lots of options, friendly staff and nice atmosphere as well.

Das war mein erster Versuch mit einem veganen Restaurant. Normalerweise bin ich bekennender Fleisch und Fischfan und sehe alles andere als Beilage. Ich kann meine Artgenossen nur ermutigen, euch ebenfalls auf das vegane Projekt einzulassen. Die Bowles und Reisgerichte stehen der traditionellen Küche in nichts nach. Die veganen Sushis hingegen waren eine Geschmacksexplosion und haben ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal verdient. Das solltet ihr auf jeden Fall versuchen.

We came across this restaurant by chance. The menu is extensive. We had the Pagoda Bowl once and the Pagoda Dream once. First of all, I had the Green Roll. The green roll was very tasty. I really wanted to try the betel leaves. I liked them. The Pagoda Dream was tasty, although a little over-spiced by the sauce. In terms of food, we would come back again and try other dishes. The ambience in the restaurant was okay. It quickly seems very loud and busy due to the open layout.

One of my favorite restaurants. Very unique and high quality dishes. There are only 4 points because the portions have become much smaller over the years. One main course is not enough to fill you up.

Disappointed! Really really cute restaurant and so nice it’s vegan. The menu is also really fun. However, the service makes me feel so horrible afterwards. I asked whether I can get water/ have my water bottle filled and they said “you can fill it yourself in the toilet”. At entrance, I was talked to only after they took care of all white customers whom came after me. Instead of ordering food for me in front of me, they stood behind me. They asked one couple three times how food was but not asking me a single time. They are kind enough for me to leave my suitcase there for an hour after I ate, but were so passive aggressive about it, when I entered the restaurant again, he only pointed towards my suitcase without a single word or looking at me, giving that it’s literally no other customers at that point. I know people can have a bad day but I legitly did never feel so disrespected towards. The food was mid. The wok was way too sweet and won ton soup way too salty. In my dish, which has nothing to do with rice noodles, there are two pieces of rice noodles from other people’s dish, potentially didn’t wash the pot between dishes. I feel concerned to whom allergy may be relevant. Bad experience, not recommended.

The vegetarian restaurant CHAY impresses across the board! The Asian dishes are super tasty and of high quality. What's particularly worth emphasizing is that "spicy" here means really hot - perfect for lovers of intense flavors. The Vietnamese coffee was an absolute highlight, really “legga” and exactly to my taste. Overall, a great experience that leaves you wanting more. I would definitely like to come back!

I had a nice dinner in between changing trains. Service was efficient. All dishes were tasty and well put together. Really good food for the price.

The shop was empty, there was a strong smell of incense sticks. Not everyone likes that. We both (!) had headaches after the visit. That's not healthy either.

The food was very good. Excellent vegan cuisine. Unfortunately, with the last sip of our drink after less than an hour, we were asked to pay several times. The third time in a period of 10 minutes, the service person came directly with the card reader and asked us to pay and leave. I had made a special reservation. We would have liked to have finished our conversation and had some tea, which was a shame. That's why we probably won't visit this restaurant again.

Very tasty food at completely reasonable prices. A spontaneous visit in the late afternoon with two people was possible without any problems. Service was nice, but seemed a bit distracted. It's really crappy and tasteless. It is unfriendly and charges a fee to customers when making card payments. The food was a mess and the rice noodles were all stuck together. The udon noodles are not seasoned and are really the worst. Even if you give it to a passing dog, it doesn't seem to eat it.

Delicious and great food and everything vegan - a dream ✨️ We were thrilled with the entire menu and for the first time couldn't decide. Our choice then fell on two starters and two bowls and we weren't disappointed 🤗 Well prepared and very tasty, the waiting time was very short until the starters arrived and the main courses also came quickly 🙂 The only drawback was that it was a bit noisy due to the large room and the open kitchen, but that didn't detract from the food and we are still thrilled and recommend it to all people who like to eat vegan and would like to have a large selection 😁

Came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious, the service and atmosphere were great. But it was a shame when we were overcharged by 25 euros. The fact that we drank 2 cocktails each and don't know the language doesn't mean we should be cheated. There was no real apology. But at least thank you for the delicious food. Even if it was an accident, I don't want to sit and count everything myself in case someone makes a mistake. I just want to eat and relax. I'm not sure I'll come back. But thank you for having a vegan Asian restaurant, that's really cool 👍🔥🌱

Very nice and friendly staff at restaurant. Service is very fast. Atmosphere is so cozy. I ordered two different starters, rolling and dumplings. Both of them was fried and crunchy. Inside filling vegetables were delicious. But only it was a little bit oily for me. Desert: Bananacake with rice wasn’t sweet. I don’t know if it supposed to be sweet. But I expected banana little bit sweeter. Also ordered Bluetiful homemade lemonade. If you like cocomilk taste then you will like it. Personally I didnt like it. Not my taste. Prices are okay for a restaurant like this. It was worth to try. Maybe another time I will go and try other food in menü. 2 starters, 1 lemonade, 1 desserts costed 20 euro.

Tolle Auswahl an Vor- und Hauptspeisen. Wir waren mit fünf Personen ( 2 Vegetarier ) in diesem Restaurant. Die Reservierung per Telefon hat gut funktioniert. Das Restaurant gegen 19:30 an einem Samstag voll besetzt. Das Essen war hervorragend. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet und gemütlich.

We were 2 people visiting when restaurant was around 30% full. We sat on a table for 4, and they rudely told us to sit at a table made for only 2 people, which was in a congested place. The waiter was on her phone for a lot of time, and I had to almost shout for her to take our order.

Unfortunately it wasn't what we imagined. Ginger Team has little taste... The food could have had more spices. There are better vegan restaurants in town. Atmosphere of the restaurant is very loud and not edible. Price performance doesn't match
