The food is great, a large selection of vegan dishes. Extra requests are well catered for. Especially in the evening, quite loud. The prices are okay.

A nice, vegan restaurant with very tasty food. We were there at lunchtime and luckily got a seat even though we didn't make a reservation. We were served quickly and friendly and the food was at the table quickly. We both chose "Lemongrass Rainbow", the dish was rated as "spicy" and it was really very spicy (but not unpleasant), so you get what you expect. It was a large enough portion and, above all, really tasty, and the price was also absolutely reasonable. Any time again, clear recommendation.

I ordered food here. The udon noodles were ok, but nothing special. The summer rolls were the smallest and most poorly filled I've ever seen. No trace of mango. Really a disgrace for the price! When the food was delivered there was no cutlery or at least chopsticks, udon noodles are not so good to eat with your hand... Overall, the price-performance ratio wasn't right at all, a shame!

From a professional gastronomic perspective, this restaurant is heartless and tasteless system catering with unhealthy sugary food and poor service.

Really enjoyed this place as our first evening meal out in Hamburg. Partner had a drier nooble dish with fried spring rolls and I had ramen with tofu, we did have some starters as well but I forgot to take photos. It was all really good though. Broad food and drink menus with lots of options, friendly staff and nice atmosphere as well.

On my first visit the monk soup was very tasty and the homemade iced tea was also really good. The next time, unfortunately, the dishes couldn't quite keep up with the very good first impression. Das war mein erster Versuch mit einem veganen Restaurant. Normalerweise bin ich bekennender Fleisch und Fischfan und sehe alles andere als Beilage. Ich kann meine Artgenossen nur ermutigen, euch ebenfalls auf das vegane Projekt einzulassen. Die Bowles und Reisgerichte stehen der traditionellen Küche in nichts nach. Die veganen Sushis hingegen waren eine Geschmacksexplosion und haben ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal verdient. Das solltet ihr auf jeden Fall versuchen.

We came across this restaurant by chance. The menu is extensive. We had the Pagoda Bowl once and the Pagoda Dream once. First of all, I had the Green Roll. The green roll was very tasty. I really wanted to try the betel leaves. I liked them. The Pagoda Dream was tasty, although a little over-spiced by the sauce. In terms of food, we would come back again and try other dishes. The ambience in the restaurant was okay. It quickly seems very loud and busy due to the open layout.

Disappointed! Really really cute restaurant and so nice it’s vegan. The menu is also really fun. However, the service makes me feel so horrible afterwards. I asked whether I can get water/ have my water bottle filled and they said “you can fill it yourself in the toilet”. At entrance, I was talked to only after they took care of all white customers whom came after me. Instead of ordering food for me in front of me, they stood behind me. They asked one couple three times how food was but not asking me a single time. They are kind enough for me to leave my suitcase there for an hour after I ate, but were so passive aggressive about it, when I entered the restaurant again, he only pointed towards my suitcase without a single word or looking at me, giving that it’s literally no other customers at that point. I know people can have a bad day but I legitly did never feel so disrespected towards. The food was mid. The wok was way too sweet and won ton soup way too salty. In my dish, which has nothing to do with rice noodles, there are two pieces of rice noodles from other people’s dish, potentially didn’t wash the pot between dishes. I feel concerned to whom allergy may be relevant. Bad experience, not recommended.

One of my favorite restaurants. Very unique and high quality dishes. There are only 4 points because the portions have become much smaller over the years. One main course is not enough to fill you up.

The vegetarian restaurant CHAY impresses across the board! The Asian dishes are super tasty and of high quality. What's particularly worth emphasizing is that "spicy" here means really hot - perfect for lovers of intense flavors. The Vietnamese coffee was an absolute highlight, really “legga” and exactly to my taste. Overall, a great experience that leaves you wanting more. I would definitely like to come back!

I had a nice dinner in between changing trains. Service was efficient. All dishes were tasty and well put together. Really good food for the price.

The shop was empty, there was a strong smell of incense sticks. Not everyone likes that. We both (!) had headaches after the visit. That's not healthy either.

Simply fantastic! The food was once again outstanding - every dish was perfectly prepared and tasted a highlight. The service was just as impressive: friendly, attentive and professional. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, you immediately feel at home. We'll definitely be back!

The food was very good. Excellent vegan cuisine. Unfortunately, with the last sip of our drink after less than an hour, we were asked to pay several times. The third time in a period of 10 minutes, the service person came directly with the card reader and asked us to pay and leave. I had made a special reservation. We would have liked to have finished our conversation and had some tea, which was a shame. That's why we probably won't visit this restaurant again.

Very tasty food at completely reasonable prices. A spontaneous visit in the late afternoon with two people was possible without any problems. Service was nice, but seemed a bit distracted. Very nice facility. The atmosphere would have been really good if the same 4 or 5 Christmas songs hadn't played on a constant loop and stopped every now and then. We would love to come back the next time we visit Hamburg.

It's really crappy and tasteless. It is unfriendly and charges a fee to customers when making card payments. The food was a mess and the rice noodles were all stuck together. The udon noodles are not seasoned and are really the worst. Even if you give it to a passing dog, it doesn't seem to eat it.

Delicious and great food and everything vegan - a dream ✨️ We were thrilled with the entire menu and for the first time couldn't decide. Our choice then fell on two starters and two bowls and we weren't disappointed 🤗 Well prepared and very tasty, the waiting time was very short until the starters arrived and the main courses also came quickly 🙂 The only drawback was that it was a bit noisy due to the large room and the open kitchen, but that didn't detract from the food and we are still thrilled and recommend it to all people who like to eat vegan and would like to have a large selection 😁

Came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious, the service and atmosphere were great. But it was a shame when we were overcharged by 25 euros. The fact that we drank 2 cocktails each and don't know the language doesn't mean we should be cheated. There was no real apology. But at least thank you for the delicious food. Even if it was an accident, I don't want to sit and count everything myself in case someone makes a mistake. I just want to eat and relax. I'm not sure I'll come back. But thank you for having a vegan Asian restaurant, that's really cool 👍🔥🌱

Very nice and friendly staff at restaurant. Service is very fast. Atmosphere is so cozy. I ordered two different starters, rolling and dumplings. Both of them was fried and crunchy. Inside filling vegetables were delicious. But only it was a little bit oily for me. Desert: Bananacake with rice wasn’t sweet. I don’t know if it supposed to be sweet. But I expected banana little bit sweeter. Also ordered Bluetiful homemade lemonade. If you like cocomilk taste then you will like it. Personally I didnt like it. Not my taste. Prices are okay for a restaurant like this. It was worth to try. Maybe another time I will go and try other food in menü. 2 starters, 1 lemonade, 1 desserts costed 20 euro.

Tolle Auswahl an Vor- und Hauptspeisen. Wir waren mit fünf Personen ( 2 Vegetarier ) in diesem Restaurant. Die Reservierung per Telefon hat gut funktioniert. Das Restaurant gegen 19:30 an einem Samstag voll besetzt. Das Essen war hervorragend. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet und gemütlich.

We were here for the first time by chance. The dishes were very tasty, served quickly, and the service was friendly and unobtrusive. Card payment was possible. The drinks (homemade lemonade) were also delicious.

Good ambience, decent choice of dishes on the menu. The vegetables in our food were very undercooked. The staff couldn't care less about the customers. We were 2 people visiting when restaurant was around 30% full. We sat on a table for 4, and they rudely told us to sit at a table made for only 2 people, which was in a congested place. The waiter was on her phone for a lot of time, and I had to almost shout for her to take our order.

Unfortunately it wasn't what we imagined. Ginger Team has little taste... The food could have had more spices. There are better vegan restaurants in town. Atmosphere of the restaurant is very loud and not edible. Price performance doesn't match

Very nice interiors, quick service and amazing selection of options in the Mittagskarte. I had Maracuja schorle and Buddha bowl. They did not have chilli oil but they offer unlimited sriracha and soja sauce. They only accept card over 20€.

Delicious food with fresh ingredients and a nice ambience - as a vegan shop in a central location, Chay Veganrestaurant was worth a visit.

Simply recommended. Rarely eaten so well - whether vegan, vegetarian or with meat. I was at Chay with my wife and we absolutely loved it. Simply great for the eye and taste! In addition, a fresh, modern atmosphere and very friendly and quick service. After a few months I came back to Hamburg from southern Germany and was looking forward to the Chay again. PS: I'm not even a vegetarian...

Favorite restaurant of all! Will forever remain in my favorites and is my must-have when I'm in Hamburg. Great food, be sure to try the starters too.

Ordered Buddha Roll, Wonton Soup, No.14 (I forgot the name, anyway it's Udon Noodles) and Monk Soup. All in all it was 40€. Wonton soup is highly recommended. The udon were a bit too spicy and "oily" for my mother. The monk soup, which is basically pho, was very tasty. You'll definitely be full!

Very tasty vegan sushi. The lunch deal is less than 14€ for main dish + drink. I recommend the ice tea. Good service as well.

Not only the food, but also the service and the ambience are excellent. I have already been able to convince many “non-vegans” that giving up meat, fish and dairy products does not mean giving up taste pleasure. In the evening you can even park perfectly in front of the door for free and dogs are welcome.

We were there on a Saturday evening. A table can easily be reserved by phone the evening before. It was still nice and warm, so we were able to sit at one of the two small outside tables on the less busy street. Very fast and friendly service. The two of us had three starters: edamame, salad, summer rolls. Then I had BBQ King for my main course. The food was consistently very tasty. The ambience is nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I can only recommend it and would go back at any time. 23€/person including drinks.

I work at Lieferando and had to pick up an order from this restaurant. Why does the waiter at this restaurant address us as if he were our boss? Since there was no one at the door, I went into the kitchen. Then a waiter came and immediately said “wait outside”. Since I parked the car on the street, I wanted to take the order and leave as soon as it was ready. “Is the order ready?” I asked. Instead of answering, he said “wait outside” again. I've been working at Lieferando for about 4 years, but I've never seen such a rude waiter.

I actually really enjoy eating there. Unfortunately, when I sat down recently, I was asked whether I had any cash with me, which I found to be intrusive and unfriendly to the guests. At the entrance you are informed that card payments are only possible from 20 euros. I then paid in cash, but couldn't help but ask myself why payments of less than 20 euros were not permitted even with a Girocard. Answer: none, ostentatious silence. Extremely rude. The fact is that, as far as I know, minimum payment amounts for debit card payments are not permitted by law. That's why I ate there for the last time. Too bad.

Absolutely delicious food and great and kind staff. The jasmine-lime icetea was perfect in its sweetness, the summerrolls were fresh, the monksoup balanced, the spring blossom tea beautiful and the mochi icecream just soooo good. I kept on ordering things since it was just so tasty. A perfect place for a good meal close enough to the station if you are only around for a few hours.

We got a mega delicious vegan surprise at Chay Vegan restaurant in a small side street 😋🥇🍜🍚🌱 Even a meat eater like me must admit that Lemongrass Rainbow and Golden Bowl made me forget about meat and enjoy the intense taste (also strong! 🌶️😅 ) with lots of freshly prepared vegetables 🍲🍜😀 with rice 👍 Asparagus, broccoli, pea pods, carrots, lemongrass and tofu fillets were really tasty - and seasoned with a considerable amount of chili 💪👏 I drank a glass of mango juice with the meal - and its taste was fresh and fruity 🥭 In the end we surrendered to dessert - mochi ice cream with lemon flavor and warm fried sesame ball 🍧 we completely forgot to take pictures of that dessert - because the taste was completely from another world 👏😌 and the fruit taste was just delicious, cold and fresh ❄️🍋 Thank you so much for the food 🏆😋

Essen OK, aber Service mies. Reservierter & zugesicherter Tisch war dann doch besetzt. Fast kalten Reis zu servieren, ist schon schlecht, dann aber diesen - nachdem man um eine Aufwärmung gebeten hat - nach 30 Sekunden wieder genau so lauwarm auf den Tisch zu stellen, das ist schon dreist. Service auch langsam und unzuverlässig. Es steht nichts auf dem Tisch, kein Salz, kein Pfeffer, erst recht keine asiatischen Gewürze - wie überall üblich. Alles muss einzeln bestellt werden. Bestellungen werden vergessen und müssen 2 bis 3-mal bestellt werden.

There were three of us at Chay and we got a place straight away without a reservation. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, but all the metal didn't suit us. The service was OK, but it could have been a little more attentive. I found it very good that you pay at the checkout at the front, so you can go when you want and don't have to wait for service. There are many vegan dishes on the menu. The special menu and the main menu had a great selection. We had vegan udon noodles and vegan ramen and both were extremely tasty and there was more than enough quantity. We'd love to come back.

A great experience in this restaurant: we were two people and ordered 4 tapas + a roll of 8 pieces of sushi (not featured in the photos). Everything was quite tasty. The staff is very nice, and the place looks awesome. Only detail is: minimum expend to pay by card is €20 (it didn't affect us, but might be annoying for other people).

So glad to have found a purely vegan restaurant near the train station. The lunch was delicious and the homemade iced tea was super refreshing. We're now going to the Taylor Swift concert feeling refreshed and looking forward to coming back here ☺️
