A lovely Italian restaurant. The food is delicious and the portions are generously sized.

We only had tomato soup and carpaccio, but both were very good and tasty. Italian ambiance, friendly service, and good quality!

The food was absolutely delicious. However, the restrooms were inadequate! The toilet seat was broken, the toilet brush and urinal were clogged, and all the aerators in the sinks were blocked! They were located to the right of the entrance. The TV was mounted on the wall with a stand, not a wall-mounted one! I got the feeling the restaurant no longer has a proper manager who oversees things. Everything was apparently fine years ago, but not anymore!

The owner is trying to have my honest review deleted for "defamatory content." Therefore, I'm deducting two stars. Judge for yourself whether my statements are defamatory: "The quality of the food has declined significantly compared to a few years ago. For example: The pasta tossed in a Parmesan wheel is no longer prepared as described. The porcini mushrooms are a low-budget product. The pizza was obviously also made with low-budget ingredients. The service was okay, but could be better. We won't be back. It's a shame."

Overall, just okay. We were greeted warmly, and our drink orders were taken and served quickly. My appetizer consisted of cheap tomatoes and mozzarella; it wasn't particularly tasty. The pizza was a good size and tasted okay. I felt the price-performance ratio, especially for the appetizer, was not appropriate.

Things used to be better, I know. But seriously: the quality has declined significantly lately. Desserts and pasta are noticeably weaker, far removed from their former standard in both taste and preparation. I also have nothing positive to say about the service anymore – quite the opposite, in fact. Inattentive, slow, and showing little interest in the customer. Overall, it's a clear step backward compared to how it used to be.

We waited over 45 minutes for four simple meals, and then the food wasn't even as it should have been! (cold and oversalted) The service was abysmal, and the place is very dated. Unfortunately, I can't give less than one star.

We ate here in a large group (about 50 people), with appetizers, main courses, and dessert. The ambiance is okay, in a Charleston style. It's nothing special, but clean and tidy. Unfortunately, for our large group, there was more or less only one waitress, and sometimes a second. That wasn't enough; we had to wait a long time for our orders and drinks. The food also arrived in several shifts; the first few had finished dessert when others were just getting their appetizers. That was definitely a huge drawback. However, the food itself deserves high praise. It was truly delicious and of good quality. Despite the large group, the food didn't suffer in terms of quality. I would come back again with a smaller group and can recommend it for smaller gatherings.

Given the elegant ambiance and the anticipation of the meal, the service was particularly disappointing. For a group of 14, I would have preferred a slightly different greeting than "Hello" or something similar. We were just there. What a pity! Welcoming guests costs nothing, quite the opposite. The waiter didn't even come to the table after dinner to ask for a drink or offer dessert. The place was empty except for three other guests. The food was mostly fine. However, it didn't live up to the ambiance.

Restaurant with a homely atmosphere. We were satisfied with our salami picante pizza and the mozzarella caprese. The pizza was huge, with a very thin crust in the topping area, although much of the size was taken up by the thick, crispy crust, which was about two fingers wide. The pizza was spiced up with chilies as requested. The tomatoes in the mozzarella were average with a medium flavor. This may be due to the time of year (October), but in my opinion, it could have been even more flavorful. The service was prompt, friendly, and unobtrusive. Overall, a pleasant visit after a long tour of the city.

We ate at the Charleston as a family yesterday. The service was okay, and the wait time was reasonable. The food (2 pizzas and 2 pastas) was really delicious. The calzone was a bit dark, but it was still okay. The portions were good, and we left feeling full. We had reserved a table in advance.

We decided on this restaurant as we were walking by. It was the right decision. The pizza was great, the pasta was delicious. It couldn't be better. Very friendly service. Great value for money. If we're ever in Erfurt again, we'll be happy to go here again.

We were here today by chance (the restaurant we were actually planning on going to was already completely full). I'm always a bit ambivalent about Italian restaurants in Erfurt, because most of them are just average. We were very pleasantly surprised here, from the warm welcome, to the great selection, the very good food, and the superb service. - That's what makes it fun, thank you for a great evening :) The prices aren't cheap, but you get good quality.

Disappointing! The two of us were there last night. For our starter, we chose the vegetarian antipasti. The vegetables seemed tough/not fresh, were barely seasoned, and the selection was very monotonous (mostly just two varieties, with little of a third). Shortly after the starter was served, and we couldn't even finish half of it due to time constraints, the main course arrived – very strange! We should have asked the guests if that was okay. The "Aglio Olio" pasta tasted fine, but a bit too oily. The "Pasta alla Forma die Parmigiano" was totally disappointing. The menu advertised a Parmesan cheese loaf. However, the sour/salty Parmigiano flavor was completely missing: instead, a sweet cream sauce. The porcini mushrooms seemed more like wild mushrooms and didn't taste fresh at all. When the waitress asked if everything was okay while clearing the table, we politely described our impressions of the dish – no response at all. After waiting 20 minutes for the bill, we finally paid at the bar – no response there either. Too bad – it's no longer the right restaurant for us.

The Charleston is the best Italian restaurant in Erfurt. No other restaurant comes close. Other "Italian restaurants" are tourist traps and have nothing to do with Italy. Everything here is authentic. The kitchen crew and the service at the Charleston do their best to serve good, authentic Italian food. Sometimes it takes a little longer, but the quality in the end makes up for it. I love coming here and a big thank you for the great service. Best wishes to the Charleston team. Perfect food, excellent and fast service. I had the pizza and it was one of the best meals in Erfurt. My wife had the freshly filled pasta and it was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent location and well-maintained.

The pizza was okay, but nothing more. The pasta was most likely quickly microwaved. There's no other explanation for the huge temperature difference on the plate. Service is awful for a smile. We definitely won't be going back here.

We visited the restaurant and were unfortunately disappointed overall. We had to wait about 20 minutes for anyone to take our order, even though the restaurant didn't seem crowded at all. We then waited another hour for our food. The quality of the food was okay, but by no means an experience that would justify such an exceptionally long wait. The ambiance, on the other hand, is pleasantly designed – it's just a shame that you have to experience it for so long and so intensely before the food arrives.

Best Italian food in a long time. We'd love to come back.

Good Italian cuisine with an excellent menu

Very delicious food. I had ravioli and crème brûlée for dessert. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the ravioli. (I was hungry 😋) The atmosphere in the heart of Erfurt is fantastic.

It's nice to sit outside. We made extensive use of the breakfast buffet.

We waited an hour for our food. Our table neighbors were seated for over two hours. In the end, we paid for our drinks and left. Plus, the atmosphere wasn't exactly friendly. Absolutely not a recommendation.

The restaurant impresses with its strong ambiance and a fantastic location, inviting you to linger. The service was always friendly and attentive. However, the food was a bit off: While the dessert was excellent and absolutely delicious, the pizza was lacking that certain something – especially the spices, which would have given the dish a lot more zest.

Ten of us went there for dinner last Saturday and were absolutely thrilled! All of the dishes and drinks we ordered were delicious. The service was very friendly, and we didn't have to wait long. We especially loved the desserts ❤️ We'll most likely be back!

Das Restaurant ist elegant eingerichtet. Die beiden italienischen Kellner waren freundlich und korrekt. Aber das Essen war nur mittelmäßig. Ich hatte Fischfillette mit Krabben in Weißweinsoße bestellt. Das Gemüse war etwas überkocht und schmeckte wässrig. Die Kartoffelspalten waren nich knusprig.

Das Vitello Tonnato wird mit einer Mayonnaise zubereitet. Fünf mal mehr Mayonnaise als Fleisch, ungenießbar. aber man sitzt dort nett und das Personal ist äußerst freundlich. Allerdings hätte man, nachdem das Vitello nahezu unangerührt zurückgegangen ist, das zumindest von der Rechnung nehmen können.

The food was really excellent! I'm often not good at choosing restaurants, but this was great! It was served hot, perfectly seasoned and the service was also very, very good and friendly. I would definitely recommend it and we would come again.

I wanted to have lunch there last Wednesday with my son (4 years old). According to the signs in front of the door, lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. We entered the store at 11:28 a.m. and were promptly asked to leave because the restaurant supposedly wouldn't open until 15 minutes later. We were very disappointed and after this reaction of cellaring we went to another Italian restaurant. We've been there more often in the past and the staff was still friendly. Too bad.

We were there for our Christmas party. Unfortunately it was a complete disappointment. The ambience is ok, but there are much better Italian restaurants. The food was bland. According to the menu, I ordered pasta in parmesan and received pasta in cream sauce with 3 mushrooms and no parmesan. Almost everyone had to add seasoning to their food. When I told the waiter that it wasn't good, he just mumbled in Italian that he didn't care. Overall, the waiters and the kitchen are overwhelmed. We waited 2 hours for our food. During this time people no longer asked if they wanted something to drink. There was also no apology for the inconvenience. Unfortunately you have to give 1 star

Habe bereits bei Google bewertet, sort wurde es gelöscht weil ich keinen Bon hatte um nachzuweisen dass ich da war. Haben dort essen wollen, war leer, viele Kellner, doch die standen nur rum und haben miteinander geredet. Nach 20min kam endlich einer und brachte eine Karte, Getränke bekamen wir, aber nach 40min wurde uns immer noch keine Essenbestellung abgenommen, obwohl ich sogar am Tresen war und einen Kellner erbeten habe. Zur Bezahlung der Getränke bin ich auch an die Bar, wir gingen dann woanders Essen. Service unmöglich in meinen Augen.

We had dinner yesterday and were unfortunately very disappointed. After 90 minutes our food finally arrived and some of it was cold. You can't actually afford that anymore these days.

We were here a long time ago and were thrilled back then. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed. The service was really not good, there was a very long wait for the drinks, no one came in between, we were left stranded for ages and a broken box on the wall above us was annoying. This kept going on and off. The foil-wrapped menu was close to decay and a bit germy, and the schnapps was too warm. All in all, our expectations were not met. However, the food was very, very tasty and the service, when it was there, was friendly.

As is often the case with a good location, the rest can suffer and the guests still come. The food was good. But it was far too expensive for the grade it was good. My pasta was barely seasoned, the beef strips were tough and cold. The other meals were quite good. But the most annoying thing was the service. We were there with 12 people. I had to shout my order loudly to the waiter across the table. For each additional drink you had to speak to the waiter as you walked past. We waited about 45 minutes between the starter and the main course. No recommendation.

Unfortunately the SchellLack is gone 😣 The plan was to stay with a wonderful 322 one or two glasses of Prosecco🥂🍾 in the expectedly wonderful, decadent ambience🍾.👒🎩🍝...but that wasn't the case 🫨 The service tried hard but couldn't help the weak, unimaginative cuisine and only a picture of La Dolche Vita left evidence of its former glory It's a shame but maybe there will be a revival.....can still hope 😎

Well, to make a long story short, the restaurant was supposed to be open at 11 a.m., but at half past 12 there was still no one to be seen in the restaurant. Then we'll go somewhere else. What a shame!

The Charleston used to be our favorite restaurant in Erfurt. Unfortunately, the previous standard obviously could not be maintained. Due to nostalgic memories, we also ordered a lasagna because we used to think it was the best in all of Erfurt. We got this, but not the Sicilian-style veal schnitzel we ordered. We waited a moment until the waiter came and asked if everything was okay, since we didn't start eating. We said that there was still food missing and we got it 20 minutes later. In addition, the Grana Padano was also missing from the schnitzel. Very annoying when you consider that we didn't get the schnitzel at first and it also cost a lot. Unfortunately, the lasagna was also badly burned on the bottom. We weren't offered anything to drink again either. It wasn't full today either. There were only 3 other tables occupied next to us! The remaining dishes were quite good and the portion sizes couldn't be faulted. Another drawback, however, is that the dishes on the menu are not well described (the meat dishes only have corresponding side dishes or the pizza with salmon is assumed to be salmon fillet and not packaged raw smoked salmon...). However, the prices are general very high and everything should be just right! It's a shame for such a nice restaurant. This is definitely better!

Unfortunately the food wasn't good at all. The pasta was slapped together with cream and the pizza wasn't cooked properly. The response to information was cheeky and rude. This should urgently be improved.

It used to be a favorite Italian restaurant in Erfurt, but after today's visit people are really avoiding it, simple dishes like pizza are not soggy due to pizza, pasta is not seasoned, disgusting answers when asked, cheeky, arrogant, if you're up for something like that then please :) but today was the last time for me

Eigentlich wollte ich im Charleston schnell etwas zum Mittag essen. Ich setzte mich in den Außenbereich und wartete, dass mich jemand bedient. Ca. 10 Minuten später kamen weitere Gäste und setzten sich an den Nebentisch. Nach einer Weile kam dann jemand vom Service mit den Speisekarten. Ich dachte, dass wir alle von ihm bedient werden. Stattdessen fragte er am Nebentisch nach Getränken, verteilte Speisekarten und nahm die Essensbestellung auf. Ein Gast vom Nebentisch wusste schon, was er essen möchte und lehnte die Speisekarte ab. Ich fragte, ob ich diese Karte bekommen könnte, damit ich schon auswählen kann. Ich hatte nicht viel Zeit, deshalb wollte ich mich mit dem Essen beeilen. Der Herr vom Service sammelte alle Speisekarten wieder ein und ging mit der Bestellung der anderen Gäste wieder in das Restaurant, ohne mich überhaupt zu beachten. Er kam auch nicht wieder. So etwas ist mir noch nie bei einem Restaurantbesuch passiert. Ich ging dann ohne Essen und werde dort ganz sicher nie wieder hingehen.

The pizza is delicious, the rigatoni with pesto was strangely dried out, maybe microwaved. Friendly service, everything went very quickly and you sit really nicely. So the star deducted because of the pesto.

Spontaneous visit. Nice location with naked views (fountain). Ordering took a while despite few visitors. Service friendly, food unexpectedly good. The interior furnishings are getting old, the toilets are underground and some are even broken! However, this could be fixed quickly and easily. Inside we found toys for children, but unfortunately nothing was said or offered to us beforehand. Prices were a little higher than expected but reasonable given the good food.

The Prosciutto Pizza doesn't have "prosciutto" but some kind of cheap ham.

The starter was a tomato soup, which was not edible due to its sour predominance and therefore no more than a quarter could be consumed. By the way, the soup arrived at the table only lukewarm. For the main course, the pasta from the cheese wheel was ordered. The dish was very bland and seasoning was only possible to a limited extent because the pepper shaker was broken. The noodles also arrived at the table only lukewarm and late with the other dishes. In total we waited almost 1.5 hours for the food, even though the restaurant was only very busy. I'm also at a loss for words about the service. The guests were not taken care of. It was also not possible to order more than one drink, as the motto of the day was “cornerstone, cornerstone, everything must be hidden”. However, the ambience may be convincing.

The pasta from the alleged parmesan loaf was incredibly bad. This had nothing to do with parmesan and porcini mushrooms. The pasta and mushrooms (frozen) are - possibly for cost reasons or for the sake of simplicity? - soaked in cream. However, you won't find any taste in the food, let alone Parmesan. With luck you can find 3 pieces of grated Parmesan on the pile of pasta. Unfortunately, the service also leaves a lot to be desired. There are always long waiting times despite few guests and drinks if you draw attention to yourself or go to the waiter yourself. We're definitely not coming back!

I ignored the bad reviews which was a mistake. The service is non-existent! Zero attention, msn can be happy to be served on a Sunday at lunchtime. The Cesar salad came with cooked chicken in brown sauce

Not a really good restaurant anymore... We had to wait well over half an hour for three pizzas. The taste was okay so far, but there are much better (and faster) alternatives in Erfurt...

The Saltimbocca, an Italian specialty made from veal, was disappointing. Should normally melt in your mouth, I had very tough meat. The ham was totally salty. The San Daniele ham is actually air-dried and mild. I don't have to go there again.

The service was okay for a canteen, unfortunately the restaurant was declared to us as the best Italian restaurant in the suburb! Service very superficial! We had a vegetarian starter that wasn't fresh, but had already been served for a few days. The spaghetti in a Parmesan body with porcini mushrooms never saw a Parmesan body, the porcini mushrooms were a charred bit of mushrooms served as a mushroom mush under the spagetti that was supposedly refined in a Parmesan body! The half-full plates weren't cleared for about 10-15! But at least we were asked if we would prefer to have the food packed......! My comments about the quality of the food were simply ignored with complete fervor! I'm usually not so direct with my releases and give every place a chance, this bad canteen won't get a second chance from me!

Excellent One of the best Italians in Erfurt

Nice restaurant, but it didn't blow us away. Our reserved table was not noted, which is perhaps not absolutely necessary for two people. However, the table wasn't properly clean, there were crumbs from previous guests and we had to approach the very nice waitresses ourselves for almost everything. You certainly can't go wrong with a visit, but I wouldn't recommend the Charleston for a nice, cozy evening.
