Unfortunately, the chameleon has lost a lot of energy. The service is friendly and attentive (but nothing more), the deficiencies in the food are now serious and recurring. The ingredients used to be good and everything was freshly prepared. Now the summer roll comes wrapped in tough rice paper that is almost impossible to chew. The tuna on the sushi has a brown tone that doesn't indicate freshness, the sushi rice is mushy and the salmon in the sashimi was frozen. The salmon that is "grilled" according to the menu is not grilled, but has been put through the deep fryer (the poor salmon...). When it comes to vegetables, it's a matter of luck whether you get half-wilted or slightly fresher pieces. A pity.

I can only say good things, especially the staff were very nice and friendly.

The food was super tasty. Price performance is right here when it comes to the sushi. Unfortunately, the outside area is getting quite old (as far as the dining area and the chairs are concerned, the tables looked pretty dirty). It needs an update and maybe some weeds removed. But unfortunately the service didn't pick us up at all. The waiter himself was very friendly, but we had ordered a Wildberry Lillet which tasted subterranean. It tasted like still water with syrup. We told the waiter this. Instead of making a new drink, which we also suggested, unfortunately they just filled it up with sparkling water. Accordingly, the drink tasted undrinkable after trying again. Unfortunately we had to pay it in full even though it was returned in full. I don't think that's customer-oriented, even though our drinks bill for the two of us was just under €100... It's a shame... So unfortunately we wouldn't come back.

A place where you simply feel comfortable and welcome as a guest. Very friendly, in a good mood waiter who was also available for a joke or two. We only had a drink, but to give due credit to the overall experience, everything is 5 stars.

Everything is really great and super tasty, the atmosphere is nice, even the toilets. However, the opening times are not correct. The restaurant closes at 11 p.m. and doesn't mix until 1 a.m

Great spot by the river for a bite

I find the fact that the menu doesn't offer any vegetarian or vegan options to be very, very, very weak. The good: The older gentleman who takes care of the guests. He came up with something straight away so you don't have to sit around hungry while everyone else is eating. 5 stars for the man, 1 for the menu (from me as a veggie - it's obviously different for meat eaters), so unfortunately only 3 stars come out. The other staff were also all nice, polite and customer-oriented. Thanks for that!

The chameleon was a coincidence. We liked the atmosphere. We had starters/chief which were very tasty. The portions were large and very nicely prepared. The sushi was great and the prices were reasonable for Frankfurt

Very tasty food, top drinks and the prices are reasonable. That's why there is an additional ⭐⭐⭐.

We were absolutely thrilled with the 3-course menu, both in terms of quantity and taste. The ambience also impressed us (except for the big screen in the bar area, which unfortunately caused a lot of distraction from time to time). The service was a little "disoriented" even though it wasn't particularly busy. We will come back.

I put it like this: “More appearance than reality” - Price/performance really poor. For the price you can really expect more as a guest. - Starter was good and a reasonable portion size. The main course was brought to the table completely cold - the request to heat the food again in the kitchen was quickly followed, but there was still no apology. In addition, we had to wait half an hour for the starter and a whole hour for our main course, even though the restaurant was only average to less well attended. The steak was ordered medium rare, but what ultimately arrived on the plate was anything but medium rare, but rather rare. - The waiter was very nice and friendly, there's nothing to complain about - The ambience was good, but nothing special...

Unfortunately rather disappointing. You should definitely expect more for what you pay. The salmon tartare was very tasty but nothing special. The rump steak with potatoes and the bean salad wasn't that good. Instead of bean salad I got leaf lettuce. The potatoes were okay, but could have used a little more salt. Unfortunately the steak was nothing. It came to the table cold and the degree of doneness was anything but medium rare, rather rare. I had it warmed up again, but it still wasn't medium rare. The ambience is nice but nothing special. You can't complain about the service, the waiter was nice. All in all, I think that what you pay and then get in the end is not justified. Waiting an hour for your food even though there's nothing going on and then having it cold and incorrectly prepared is just not ok!

Not a particularly comfortable place, had a subpar, annoying waiter who constantly reminded us that we had to leave the bar soon. Really not a highlight.

We tested the chameleon on site for the first time. The food is really good and deserves 5 stars - the menu is extensive, although the menu in the restaurant is smaller than the online menu on the homepage!? Service was very nice, prices were okay. The water in the men's toilet is turned off. There is an acrid smell that makes your eyes water. This stinks and needs to be corrected urgently!! A restaurant also has to make an effort when it comes to the toilet! The music outside was really disturbing at times. Gangster rap has no place in a “Bar & Lounge”!!! Pleasant lounge background music must be playing here!!! Otherwise, overall recommended!

Let's start with the positive. The waiter who served us was kind, courteous and attentive. About the restaurant: The ambience is nothing special or unusual. It is set up normally. Actually, just like any other restaurant in Frankfurt that wants to suggest quality through the ambience or even wants to justify the prices. This is how we come to the food: The starter was tuna that was far too dry because it was overcooked. For €17 you get 5 small, rectangular slices… They were absolutely not tasty and poorly prepared. The rib-eye steak was okay, but the accompanying salad was of low quality. The salmon was so-so. It tasted like packaged salmon from Lidl. I would give it 2.5 stars for the food, but given the prices I can personally only give it 1 star. This brings me to the last point: prices. Unfortunately, they are absolutely not right and in the wrong direction. The guest must be able to recognize a certain value in return. A value in terms of prices would be a unique culinary experience in an ambience that is not available at every pseudo-luxury restaurant in Frankfurt. My rating refers to the price/performance ratio: ⭐️⭐️

We invited our guests to this restaurant and were extremely disappointed. We finally had to wait 3 hours for our food. A number of dishes were swapped and we were repeatedly told that half of the menu was probably not available. This means there are always long waiting times. There was only one waiter for the full shop (extremely overwhelmed), which explains the poor service. The food was just okay. After the waiting period, there was no longer any claim on our part. Definitely our last visit! The chaos has been acknowledged. There were no nice gestures etc. (bill of almost €800).

Unfortunately the food didn't taste good. The croutons weren't even in the Caesar salad. Were probably forgotten. Too long waiting times.

“Appearances” are deceiving… The waiter initially seemed friendly and accommodating, but his speech was so unclear that it was difficult to understand him. We ordered two identical dishes with BBQ sauce (Groupon voucher). The waiter said something about sweet and sour sauce. We understood this as a side sauce. In fact, the dish came with sweet and sour sauce because we ran out of BBQ sauce. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like soap. Well, I managed to get it down, but my wife couldn't eat it and asked to just have a different dish. The waiter didn't want to see that and neither did anyone Alternative delivery without charging extra. My wife was happy with that and only asked for a small bowl of red curry sauce. She wanted to pick out the chicken, vegetables and rice and have it packed up with the red curry sauce to take away because she had lost her appetite. A nice evening with delicious food looks different. Last but not least, the waiter also had the nerve to charge €3 for the sauce. He argues and apologizes that he has to charge the €3 extra sauce. It would have been so easy to satisfy the customer. Incredibly bad service and no flexibility. Not customer focused in any way. That's why we won't give this store a second chance.

Das Sushi war zwar nicht besonders außergewöhnlich, aber dennoch lecker und frisch. Die Creme Brulee und die Cocktails waren köstlich, und die vielfältige Auswahl hat uns positiv überrascht. Das Ambiente ist ansprechend und charmant gestaltet, was zu einer angenehmen Atmosphäre beiträgt. Der Service war durchweg freundlich und aufmerksam, was unseren Abend sehr angenehm gemacht hat. Obwohl wir an einem Freitagabend die einzigen Gäste waren, hat dies die positive Erfahrung nicht beeinträchtigt. Insgesamt ein gelungener Abend, den wir gerne weiterempfehlen.

Super! Tolles Sushi, frisch und sehr lecker.

Wer vom Alltag abschalten und ein wirklich schönes Ambiente genießen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Bis ins kleinste Detail waren wir restlos begeistert. Von der sauberen und stilvollen Toilette, über die gemütliche Beleuchtung bis hin zur geschmackvollen Einrichtung einfach alles perfekt. Natürlich nicht zu vergessen, das wirklich leckere Essen. Wir hatten das drei-Gänge-Sushimenü. Alle drei Gänge haben ausnahmslos richtig gut geschmeckt. Das Sushi war die Krönung. Frische Zutaten und schön angerichtet. Am Service gab es absolut nichts zu beanstanden. Sehr freundlicher Empfang mit einem „herzlich willkommen“. Es sind manchmal wirklich die kleinen Dinge die es ausmachen. Sehr aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und überhaupt nicht aufdringlich. Einfach perfekt. Wir sind aus Heidelberg nach Frankfurt gekommen um es uns im Chamäleon gut gehen zu lassen und unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Wir kommen gerne wieder hierher. Ausnahmslos zu empfehlen.

Overall good food, but spoiled by the incredibly slow service

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort und sind total zufrieden. Das Ambiente toll, die Bedienung super freundlich und das 3-Gänge-Sushi Menü war der Hammer. Haben noch nie so leckeres Sushi gegessen. Empfehlenswert ist auch die hausgemachte Limonade.

Süßes kleines Restaraunt mit ästhetischem Dekor. Die Musik hatte eine angenehme Lautstärke, sodass man sich gut unterhalten konnte. Das Essen sah klasse aus (sehr schön hergerichtet) und die Portion der Hauptspeise war gefühlt gigantisch, sodass ich eigentlich keine Vorspeise gebraucht hätte. War auch wirklich lecker. Vielleicht etwas viel Soße, aber das ist natürlich Geschmackssache. Der Eistee war sehr sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich hatte ausversehen mein Besteck mit abräumen lassen und habe neues bekommen, ohne dass ich etwas sagen musste. Kann das Restaurant bestens empfehlen!

Das Chamäleon Bar & Restaurant ist unser wöchentlicher Mittagessen-Hotspot und wir sind stets begeistert von den köstlichen asiatischen Gerichten. Besonders die Ente in roter Kokossauce und der gebratene Reis sind unsere Favoriten. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist unschlagbar, da wir in der Regel mit nur etwa 20 Euro pro Person auskommen, inklusive einem Getränk. Das Ambiente ist ansprechend, und insgesamt ist das Chamäleon eine hervorragende Wahl für ein schnelles Mittagessen, insbesondere, da es oft Tagesangebote gibt. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir hatten die Ente im Trüffelschaum, die wirklich sehr sehr lecker war. Und das Hühnchen in Mango-Curry Sauce, das war auch lecker. Der Service war wirklich klasse, sehr freundlich und total kommunikativ. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wie letztes Jahr waren wir zur Buchmesse in Frankfurt und waren wieder im Chamäleon zum Essen. Zunächst mussten wir die Reservierung kurzfristig vorverlegen und sind mit mehr Leuten als ursprünglich geplant gekommen. All dies hat reibungslos geklappt Das Essen war erneut sehr gut, ebenso wie die Getränke und der Service. Wir freuen uns schon aufs nächste Jahr 😉.

Wenn ein 'schnelles Mittagessen' zur absoluten Überraschung wird. Ich hatte mir einen Fire Wok Veggi Salat mit Hühnerstreifen bestellt. Das Essen für meinen Kollegen und mich kam sehr schnell und.... war der Hammer. Der Salat war aufwändig gemacht mit sehr viel unterschiedlichen Gemüsesorten. Die Sesamsoße war dezent und fruchtig. Mit den Hühnerstreifen hatte die Küche den perfekten Moment zwischen heiß und kalt getroffen. Gerne wieder!

Super leckeres Essen und ein toller Service. Wir hatten im Vorhinein gefragt, ob man dort ein Basketballspiel schauen kann und sie haben es extra für uns angemacht. Gerne wieder.

Das ist war schon ganz gut, aber nicht überragend... für den Preis hätte ich etwas mehr erwartet. Allerdings wurde nicht mit Paprika, cashew Kernen usw gespart, was schon ein essen auch teuer macht. Kann man hin gehen :-)

Perfekter Standort und leckere Gerichte (unsere Favoriten sind die Sake Bowl und die Currys). Ein ganz großes Lob geht an den Kellner Thomas, der sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend ist und auch Intoleranzen der Gäste sehr ernst nimmt. Wegen ihm waren wir innerhalb einer Woche sogar zweimal da, da uns sein Service so begeistert hat. Zudem kann man ein Essen im Chamäleon super mit einem Spaziergang am Westhafen verbinden, durch das mediterrane Ambiente ist das fast wie Urlaub.

Nettes Personal, gute Lage, aber das Essen war nur nett angerichtet und dafür geschmacklich langweilig. Butterzarte Ente mit Trüffelschaum, hatte nix mit butterzart und gar nix mit Trüffel zu tun. Trockene Entenbrust mit geschmacklosen Schaum.

Keller hat die Laune geändert und wurde abweisend als er merkte das er kein Trinkgeld bekommt. Kein tschüss am Ende von ihm

Sehr freundlicher und professioneller Kellner, das Essen war ebenfalls sehr gut und auch die alkoholfreien Cocktails sind zu empfehlen.

Sehr zuvorkommender und zügiger Service. Leider war der Kabeljau beim ersten Servieren noch roh und musste nachgegart werden. Der gegrillte Lachs war leider trocken. Das Sushi als Vorspeise war lecker. Salat, Dressing und Beilagen waren gut. Insgesamt allerdings etwas überteuert.

Unfortunately severely understaffed. Waited forever for drink menus once seated, then forever again for food menus/ordering. Were told not to order sushi because it would take forever to make. Food was adequate, nothing to write home about.

Das Essen ist sehr gut und die Karte bietet eine große Auswahl. Als Vorspeise hatte ich die nori Pizza Stücke, was eine sehr leckere Abwechslung zu den sonstigen Startern war. Bei gutem Wetter kann man draussen essen und die Bedienungen sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Karte hat auch eine große Auswahl an Cocktails und mein Mojito war ausgezeichnet gemixt. Würde sofort wieder gehen und sehr empfehlenswert.

Tisch für 21:00 Uhr an Silvester reserviert. Keine Infos über spezielle Vorkommnisse. Bei Ankunft wurde mir mitgeteilt dass ab 22:00 Uhr eine geschlossene Gesellschaft herrscht und wir dann gehen müssen. Damit war der geplante Silvesterabend anscheinend gelaufen. Wir haben dann relativ lange gewartet bis wir endlich essen bekamen. Wir hatten Sushi. Unser Essen kam Häppchen für Häppchen. Essen hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Alles andere drumherum würde ich nicht empfehlen und würde hier auch nicht mehr hingehen!

Allgemeines: Wir waren zu dritt am Tag vor Silvester dort essen. Es waren nur zwei weitere Tische besetzt. Es war nur ein Kellner da, was angesichts der geringen Auslastung eigentlich kein Problem sein dürfte. allerdings war ein Nachbartisch nicht mal abgeräumt, was irgendwie unansehnlich war und chaotisch wirkte. chaotisch ging es auch weiter. Der Kellner hat sich entschuldigt, dass er neu sei, aber wir mussten ihm jedes Gericht auf der Karte zeigen, damit er die Bestellung aufnehmen konnte. da erwarte ich auch von einem Neuen etwas mehr Ahnung über die angebotenen Speisen. Geld verdienen wollte man mit uns auch nicht, da wir lange über leeren Gläsern saßen und auch nicht nach Dessert gefragt wurden. Als wir das dann das Dessert bestellt haben, wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, dass das Restaurant in 20 Minuten schließe. Gemäß den Öffnungszeiten wäre es aber noch eine Stunde gewesen. Dann wurden auch noch an den übrigen Tischen die Stühle hochgestellt. Es war eine richtige Rausschmeißerstimmung. Die Rechnung hatte auch nicht gestimmt, aber es war uns dann einfach zu blöd, das zu reklamieren. Essen: Das Essen war überraschender Weise aber wirklich gut, da kann man nichts dagegen sagen. Allerdings fehlten mir persönlich auf der Speisekarte Angaben zum Schärfegrad. Mein Essen war nämlich scharf und ich mag das gar nicht. Fazit: Da wir über ein Gutscheinbuch kamen, werden wir wahrscheinlich wieder kommen, und dem Chamäleon noch eine Chance geben. In der Hoffnung, dass der Service dann besser ist.

Vollkatastrophe - schlechtes, aufgewärmtes Essen Das spicy chicken hat beim ersten Bissen schon alt geschmeckt. War qualitativ minderwertig. Wir haben reklamiert und haben das selbe Essen wieder bekommen. Der gedachte schöne Freitagabend war dahin. Auch die Ente von meinem Sohn war eine Vollkatastrophe. Wir mussten den vollen Preis zahlen!! Ein Essen haben wir mitgenommen und überlegen es dem Gesundheitsamt zu zeigen. Sehr schade!!! Wieso dieses Restaurant im Magazin Frankfurt geht aus auf Platz 5 der Kategorie Asia Fine Dining steht ist uns ein Rätsel...

Waren zu dritt an einem Freitagabend. Erstmal zu der Getränkekarte: die Getränkeauswahl ist ausreichend, auch die Weinauswahl ist OK. Als Vorspeise hatten wir eine Sushiplatte, diese war von sehr guter Qualität. Hauptspeise: die Ente auf rotem Curry, für Entenliebhaber wirklich ein Gedicht. Das Hähnchen mit grünem Curry war auch sehr schmackhaft, hatte aber für meinen Geschmack etwas zu wenig Schärfe. Die Cocktails die wir an dem Abend probiert haben, waren gut dosiert und schmeckten alle ziemlich gut. Service war sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Der einzige Nachteil ist die etwas längere Suche nach einem Parkplatz, aber das ist nicht das Verschulden des Gastronoms. Fazit: ein gelungener Abend und eine Entscheidung die wir nicht bereut haben. Wir kommen wieder.

Friendly waiters and staff, delicious food and even a wide selection of drinks...I cannot say enough great things. They accommodated our group of 20 girls and they were professional and kind throughout it all. Will be back again soon.
