Very, very nice, but not cheap.

Beautifully located, good quality and nice staff, really good old West Berlin with high quality standards. We love sitting around the campfire after a long winter walk and enjoying the unique atmosphere in Châlet Suisse with nice people, simply wonderful.

Outrageous service & misleading menu – a real mood killer! Anyone who orders smoked trout here will only get half the truth - in the truest sense of the word. My legitimate complaint was followed not only by outrageous comments like “When was the last time you ate?” but also by loud dismissal. A snack that will definitely spoil your mood after a nice walk. 👎

The location in the woods is wonderful. The food is always excellent, and a very good wine selection. My daughter has dietary restrictions, and the kitchen put something delicious together for her.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed compared to previous visits. The ambience is still very nice, but in our opinion the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly and the service in particular still had a lot of room for improvement, to put it mildly. Just like Loriot: “Waiter, can we maybe bring YOU something?”. The dessert we ordered was completely forgotten and the waitress didn't remember it even when we paid. My guess is that the catering at the chalet has changed...

The beer still needs to be worked on, unfortunately it's not very authentic, but otherwise it's good for the high price

We had a very nice Saturday evening in the chalet. Food was very good (starter, Zurich-style sliced ​​meat with rösti and a great dessert). The service was attentive and happy to help us with questions about the dishes (Swiss names are not always self-explanatory for Germans). Gladly again.

We had a thoroughly successful and delicious evening. Here you can tell that it's all about the quality of the ingredients. Sometimes simple is best: few but high-quality ingredients that are perfectly showcased. My main course with the carrots was not only magically prepared, but also an extremely tasty surprise in terms of taste, a great combination. We only sat in the outside hut because there was only a table available in the actual restaurant with food. However, we just wanted to drink something “in passing”. It was very cozy there, almost rustic. Very nice atmosphere. Although there was a lack of service, the service staff was also very nice and relaxed. We would love to come by again for a walk 👍

Great food, excellent service, very cozy atmosphere. We were there for the first time today and we really enjoyed it. The ambience was great - you could look at the burning fireplace and everything else was very tastefully decorated and coordinated. The food was very good - great bread, delicious stuffed mushrooms, great main courses and the dessert was also great. Particularly noteworthy is the service of the two waitresses who looked after us today - absolutely friendly, authentic and extremely qualified - all of our questions were answered, and it still seemed like they were having fun. We haven't experienced this so well in a long time. Many thanks to both of them - hopefully the praise goes to the right place! We'd love to come back!

Chalet Suisse deserves a full five stars! For me, it is one of the best stores in Berlin in terms of service level - the staff is attentive and warm. The food is excellent and if you are lucky enough to experience snow outside while enjoying a delicious cheese fondue, the evening will be an unforgettable experience. Absolutely recommended!

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Maybe it used to be tasty, but now there are better options in the area. The main courses in particular were really not good. Ambience is quite nice.

Unfortunately the food leaves a lot to be desired. Uninspired starters in greetings-from-the-kitchen size at steep prices. The main courses taste mediocre. The smoked and grilled duck breast tasted like tea sausage. The sauce was saved as if it were molecular gastronomy. Dessert was an absolute joke. There was no taste whatsoever and the plate was full of greasy fingerprints. See image. In our case, the staff was unfortunately very inattentive and created a bad atmosphere. Maybe there were some operational problems - something like that can happen compared to food. (I'm a waiter myself, I know what I'm talking about.) All in all, you can save yourself a visit.

Kein gelungenes Weihnachtsmenue. Der Service war desorientiert. Wir bekamen unsere Getränke erst nach 30 min, nach dem 1.Gang !!!! und dann auch erst nach mehrmaliger Nachfrage. Die Flasche Rotwein stand dann irgendwann vor dem Hauptgang auf dem Tisch. Sehr anstrengend und besserer Service ist in meiner vollen Stammkneipe zu erwarten. Das Essen war geschmacklos und nicht der Beschreibung wert. Zur winzigen Vorspeise gab es nicht mal etwas Butter zum Brot in der Tüte. Das nächste Mal doch wieder zum Italiener in Zehlendorf mit liebevollem Service und Oliven und Grappa für den halben Preis.

Das Chalet Suisse gehört wohl zu den hübschesten Restaurants in Berlin ! Sehr ansprechend, ein/ -e sehr guter/-e Innenarchitekt*in war hier am Werk. Der Spagat zwischen puristisch und gemütlich ( Ofen !!!) ist sehr gelungen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich ! Die Speisekarte war leider nicht so erfreulich... Wir waren das letzte Mal vor einigen Jahren dort Es gab damals mehrere Rösti zur Auswahl und das in einem Preissegment von 20 € - 28 €. Für jeden war etwas dabei und es war lecker ! Jetzt gibt es lediglich ein Rösti -Gericht und das auch noch ausgerechnet mit geschnetzeltem Fleisch... Wir waren ziemlich enttäuscht ! Nur ein einziges 'Hauptgericht ' war vegetarisch :-( Das ist einfach nicht zeitgemäß Die Speisen waren lecker aber zu klein - Dann muss man als Restaurant zumindest (vorher) Brot reichen. Die Preise sind eindeutig zu hoch !!!! Ein Tipp: Am besten nicht hungrig hingehen- Vielleicht für ein Getränk & etwas Käse.. Der schweizerische Pinot Noir ist gut- Sehr schade, aber es ist leider nicht weiter zu empfehlen.

We celebrated here and couldn't be more grateful to Michael and his team. From the professional preparation, to the quality of the food and the great service, everything was great. Our guests were also thrilled.

A delightful restaurant in the most idyllic setting with big windows and wood burning fires (inside and outside in the beirgaten. Right in the Grunewald Forrest, just a stones throw from the river and the Jagdschloss Grunewald. Outside, there is a large sitting area and a playground for children and fresh food and beverages for the whole family. Just go. You will not be disappointed.

After easily parking our car, we went inside. Even though it was 0 degrees and we were with the children, we chose to sit around the fire burning outside. We drank hot wine and ate sausages cooked on wood fire, it was very enjoyable and delicious.

My husband and I went there after a walk expecting to have a good meal. For 79€ with 2 non-alcoholic beers First portion: deer meat with sauce and 2 pieces of cauliflower. No potatoes, rice or dumplings nothing Second portion: lamb with mushroom sauce and 1x warm potato buffer with some lamb's lettuce. I had to give my husband some of my potatoes and salad!!!! Never again impudence

2 bratwursts ordered on the grill for €9. Get a roll with it. A small baked one. Even the employees at the grill said they would complain but couldn't do anything. Bratwurst was lukewarm. All in all 0 stars.

Modernly designed and yet incredibly comfortable. All the employees are very attentive and always have a smile on their faces😊 The food is beautifully prepared and tastes really excellent. There is one minus point, the toilet... Going down the stairs can be quite a challenge.

For us, Châlet Suisse is THE location in Berlin for a goose meal on St. Martin's Day. The menu was finely tuned - first a goose bouillon, then a small selection of starters with goose delicacies, followed by roast goose with red cabbage and dumpling. The dessert with chocolate cake and cherries was just the right ending. The quantities were also good, you were full, but not too full. The atmosphere was very pleasantly wintry with a fireplace and a slightly woody touch. The service was super friendly and attentive. The wine recommendation went very well with the menu and the prices were also reasonable. Overall, it was a thoroughly successful evening - we would love to come back.

Totally overpriced, the fries for 5 euros were way too thick and therefore dry inside. The currywurst for just 6 euros just tasted disgusting, I think it was a tofu sausage! What a shame, such a rip off and poor quality

We wanted to eat a little something in the beer garden. Ordered fries (5€) and a currywurst (6€) I've never eaten so incredibly badly. The fries were thick, dry and not enjoyable. The currywurst was soggy (I'm still sick after 24 hours). I'm not a fan of reviews, but the operators should think about the fact that they also have a certain responsibility towards their guests.

In the Grunewald, when the weather is nice, you can sit under tall pine trees without having to fend off the mosquitoes (at least in the late June evenings), nicely set with tablecloths and napkins. Next to it is the somewhat simpler beer garden. Balanced menu, Alpine dishes. Had Zurich veal slices with rösti: very tasty, large portion to fill you up. The wine is an absolute rarity in Berlin - an open Swiss Fendant, also very good in taste. Price level a bit high, but justified given the location, the friendly service and the good food. Our own parking space, closed off with a barrier, costs two euros and the fee was refunded to us. Another visit a few years later, August 2024: The tablecloths have now been removed, the menu is similar. The service was excellent: friendly and quick. When it came to the monkfish courgettes, we had the impression that they hadn't been washed properly and had a sandy feeling. Zurich veal slices very good. It is a beer garden in the middle of the wood. The food is good, the beer is good and the atmosphere is very special. It is dog friendly and really a good place to spend your noon, eating some yummy food and going to the lake near by.

Sad! I have visited this beer garden for over 20 years. Yesterday the owner more or less kicked me out because my little dog peed on a flower pot. Unfortunately, I was briefly distracted by another dog. I can see that this isn't great, and I was really sorry about it! I tried to apologize several times!!! But everything I said just made the lady even more angry. It's a real shame, I always really enjoyed going there.

I'm reviewing the beautiful BEER GARDEN here and not the restaurant!!! great location, not overcrowded. a wonderful place to end the day in good weather. with freshly grilled food and cool drinks. And although it is self-service, the employees at the counter and grill are very friendly!!!

Nice to sit and have a little meal

It's really nice to sit in. Unfortunately, the salad punch was more of a side salad from the university cafeteria than the nice salad promised. We wouldn't go there again for food, but it's enough for a drink.

We had stopped in after a walk in the forest. We sat down in the beer garden for coffee, cake and ice cream. There is self-service in the beer garden. I found it very nice. Since we didn't really test the service and cuisine, I don't want to rate it. (cash and card payment)

Biergarten: Die schlechteste und teuerste Currywurst meines Lebens. 15 € für 1 Currywurst, Pommes und Apfelschorle! Die undefinierbare Wurst hat mit Currywurst nicht das Geringste zu tun. Auch die Sauce war ebenfalls undefinierbar. Die Pommes waren dunkelbraun fririert. Trocken und gesundheitlich bedenkend. Bei diesem Bräunungsgrad war die Bildung von cancerogenem Acrylamid mit Sicherheit übermäßig hoch. Selbst ein Stern ist zu viel!

Ein idyllisches Restaurant, hübsch und schönes Ambiente. Das war es aber auch schon. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat sehr viel Luft nach oben, um optimiert und verbessert zu werden. Das Essen, nja. Wer viel Geld für sehr wenig Esen ausgeben will und dazu noch ein mittelmäßiges fades Essen möchte, der geht dorthin. Wer dort gehobene Küche für den Preis erwartet, sollte es lassen. Wir werden dort nicht noch mal essen. Schade, denn die Lage ist wirklich besonders.

We each had a “Neuland” bratwurst for €4.50 each. Actually, the quality seal should stand for particularly good quality. Unfortunately we were totally disappointed. Apparently the sausages are pre-cooked and put back on the grill before being sold. As a result, the sausage was almost burnt and shrunk. In terms of taste it was also a total disappointment as the sausage had hardly any taste of its own and was completely over salted. Conclusion: If you advertise such a product and offer such a price, then the quality should be right. We will probably enjoy our sausage at the forester's house again in the future....

The service was incredibly slow and inattentive. We received the menus about 15 minutes after we were brought to the table. After the starter, I have nothing for a long time. Neither the empty plates were cleared nor requests for drinks were accepted. About 1.5 hours after we ordered, the main course arrived. The place wasn't very full, so I don't understand the delay at all. There was also no apology from the service staff. We ordered the bill as soon as the main course arrived so that we didn't have to spend any more time in the restaurant. Of course there was no bill. Sorry, that's much better. The food tasted ok, but the price was okay.

After a walk there is a nice beer garden, unfortunately uncomfortable chairs. Just one person at the grill on a Saturday is not possible. It just takes far too long. Chicken steak unfortunately soft, fatty and wobbly. Bowl very small and not much in it. Unfortunately no salt and pepper on the tables. Other guests are given preferential treatment by the staff/boss. Be it just with a smile the rest is ignored. Positive dogs had free water and a small playground for children. Unfortunately, there were children running around everywhere, which was annoying, loud and disruptive. I don't know what the service is like inside, but we won't go to the beer garden again. Price performance is not right here.

Nach mehreren größeren Familienfeiern, die bereits hier stattgefunden haben, sind wir hier mal wieder als Familie eingekehrt und waren wieder sehr zufrieden! Das Ambiente des renovierten Restaurants ist großartig, das Essen hochwertig und sehr exklusiv und das junge Team schnell und umsichtig!
