Ordered takeout yesterday and today. Delicious food with generous portions and very fair prices. Highly recommended :)

We were visiting Freiburg and went here on a recommendation, and we weren't disappointed. Luckily, we got a cozy table outside. The red curry with vegan duck was amazing, the seitan duck was crispy, and the curry had just the right amount of spice. The vegetables were fresh and, all in all, a decent portion. We were definitely full. The service was friendly, too; we'd love to come back next time we're in Freiburg!

One of the best Asian restaurants in Freiburg. The atmosphere is very nice, indoors and outdoors with very warm decor. The food is excellent, nothing super fancy but everything that's served is great. Also great vegan alternatives and choices available. The service is a bit slow but not bad at all. Do reserve in advance, as it is a popular place.

The food was very delicious 😍 We both had vegetarian duck in different versions, simply a 10/10. Since it was quite busy, we got a table inside first. A table outside became available for us before we even got our starters. Great drinks, great food, we'd love to go again 😍

Delicious Thai food in a beautiful ambience

Disappointing family visit – unfortunately not recommended We went to Chada Thai in Freiburg with our family and were actually looking forward to a nice evening with good food. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be a very disappointing experience. After a whopping 1 hour and 45 minutes, we finally got our food. The drinks also took forever to arrive. What was particularly annoying was that several guests who arrived after us were served their food much earlier. The staff seemed disinterested and overwhelmed. No one asked if we wanted anything else to drink or if everything was okay. Overall, we felt unwelcome and simply ignored. Unfortunately, after this experience, we cannot recommend this restaurant. The service and organization were simply unacceptable in our case.

A sensational Thai restaurant so incredibly popular that reservations are essential. Despite plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, people are always queuing for a table or takeaway. I've never experienced a more popular Thai restaurant than this one! It goes without saying that the food is good and the value is good.

A very pretty restaurant with very friendly staff. The dishes are incredibly delicious, so much so that we've eaten here several times or even taken dishes home with us. The slightly spicy green curry is one of my favorites, as is the vegetarian duck. I'm extremely satisfied with the dishes every time and always enjoy trying something new.

This was our first time here and we were absolutely thrilled with the delicious food. The duck was very crispy and not fatty. The service was prompt and very friendly. The prices are absolutely reasonable. Reservations are recommended. We'd be happy to come back.

There were three of us and we arrived early, with no parking issues. Our dishes were freshly prepared, delicious, and offered a wide variety of flavors. Seating was available inside and outside.

We booked this Thai restaurant in Freiburg because we want to try the food. The location is very nice especially in summer since the tables are under the trees. The restaurant is nice and the atmosphere is really relaxed. The service is very friendly. The food was good, not extraordinary but good. The antipasti were tasty and fresh, we had a mixed plate. I was a bit disappointed by the main dishes, we took a salad and a chicken with rice. I would have expected more depth of flavour. The only issue was that the menu does not indicate the level of spiciness that you get. So despite the fact that we are used to eating spicy, the dish that arrived was so spicy that it was unateable. We clearly left it and enjoyed the rest. This is the only point I would change.

A top restaurant, highly recommended! Very suitable for vegetarians/vegans with a wide selection. The quality of the food was excellent; it was hot and freshly prepared. The vegan duck is a rare but delicious find and definitely recommended even for meat eaters. The dishes were quite spicy, so those who can't stand it should be careful. I found the spiciness just right, though. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was served quickly, and there were no long waits. The atmosphere was always friendly and open. We'd love to come back, and hopefully you will soon too.

Great Asian restaurant. The sauces and dips for the appetizers are incredibly delicious. The duck was nicely crispy and not dry. The value for money is absolutely excellent. The service is very friendly, courteous, and fast. We'd be happy to return.

One of our favorite restaurants for years, both for dining in and for takeout. Orders have always been accurate, and the food has always been delicious. If you want to eat there, be sure to reserve a table, even during the week!

We had reserved a table. The staff was quite aloof and very busy. They didn't bother coming to the table to take our order, but stayed behind the railing of the gallery – it was shorter after all – so we were also handed the appetizer! (Not served) was definitely not what you'd expect from a restaurant. My rice noodle soup was very bland and basically just boring. The mango salad was well-seasoned. For the main course, we were recommended the vegetarian duck, which was okay – but not the wow we expected. The garlic chicken was, to put it mildly, nothing. The chicken was weak – the roasted garlic was bitter, and the garlic skins were mixed in. I found them like a piece of straw and discarded them. Not a recommendation for us. Freiburg really has much better to offer. P.S. The wall could desperately use a new coat of paint – it felt like the last few years' menu was on the wall at the cash register. The outdoor terrace is very nice in good weather.

We made a reservation for 8:00 PM, but after 90 minutes (9:30 PM), we still hadn't received any food, so we frustratedly paid for the drinks and a small appetizer and left. No apology other than "it's just busy" – a very disappointing experience for us.

Wonderful restaurant with really good Thai food.

It was my first time there, and the food was delicious, even if there was too much coriander in the dishes for my taste. The staff was friendly, but once the place gets full, which happened within 15 minutes of opening, it's a bit difficult to order something else, like a drink. Another negative point for me personally is the extremely close seating at the tables; it's a bit awkward when your neighbors are constantly staring at you, eager to join in the conversation.

A very good address.....very good restaurant with sublime decor. A beautiful place that takes you to Thailand without moving from your chair. The dishes are delicious and the service is perfect....with a very nice smile from the waitress. 😊. For lunch service, the restaurant was full. Guarantee that it is good and well served. The prices are very reasonable and fair value for what you have on your plate. I highly recommend it.

Buono per una notte e di seguito capirete perché. Punti forti: colazione ottima anche se, a parte marmellata e miele con pane, manca la parte dolce. Però tutto il resto in abbondanza. Ottimi i formaggi tipici. Silenzio e vicinanza al centro con tanti locali tipici e birrerie dove cenare. Punto debole la pulizia e la mancanza di chiarezza nell'elenco dei servizi offerti dall'hotel nel suo sito ufficiale. Dopo la prima notte ho chiesto un ( uno ) cuscino più rigido del mio,( servizio disponibile nell'elenco dei servizi offerti dall'hotel.) che era forse 3 cm quando appoggiavo la testa. Al ritorno serale in camera l'abbiamo trovata, camera e bagno, non rifatti. Sul letto erano gettati due altri cuscini uguali ai nostri. Alla richiesta di spiegazioni alla reception ci è stato risposto " politica dell'hotel, le stanze si rifanno ogni 2 giorni". Cuscino come richiesto !!!. Non faccio commenti. Mai successo prima .Bagno piccolo. Seduti sul WC non si apre la porta, gomitate nella boccia, no bidet.Prezzo 250 euro+ 76 prima colazione x 2 p.. + 34 parcheggio scoperto nel retro. Totale 360 & non male x un tre stelle in Germania.

Authentic and delicious food. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Freiburg and the surrounding area!

The food tastes good and the portions are large. The quality is also good. I would like to see more authenticity in the dishes. Since I have been to Thailand many times, these dishes are very much adapted to European tastes. We'll definitely be back!

Really delicious Thai food with great vegetarian options.

We had made a reservation for four people and when our starter still hadn't arrived after 45 minutes, we asked. After another 10 minutes, the spring rolls arrived. The staff were constantly overwhelmed and gave preference to people who had ordered their food and were picking it up from the restaurant. We and other tables were brought the wrong dishes, which made us and the staff tense. The service was slow, stressful, and unfriendly. The restaurant should consider offering better service to guests in the future and reducing the wait for food by no longer offering pick-up orders. We have had this situation again and will not be coming again, even though the food tastes great.

Today the four of us ate at Chada Thai again. We have enjoyed going there for years as the cuisine has been exceptionally good. Unfortunately we were very disappointed today. Of course the restaurant is quite full on Saturday evening, but after an hour's wait the starters only arrived and they didn't arrive at the same time. Much later the main course for two people, but unfortunately totally cold. Later the food for the other people, our cold food went back into the microwave, but only came back when the other people had almost finished eating. Unfortunately, no one came to pay despite asking, so I paid at the counter. It was also so cold due to the open door to the terrace that some guests put on their jackets, but this was apparently seen as normal. The tables there are now so close together that you can hardly move towards the back. The heavy traffic from the public to pick up the ToGo food didn't necessarily help to increase the coziness. In addition, the quality of the food was mediocre compared to before. It's a shame, but we left Chada Thai in Freiburg off our list of very good restaurants. Maybe things are going even better in Malterdingen?

The food was very tasty, but unfortunately it was delivered cold. Service has unfortunately deteriorated; while friendly, they are clearly overwhelmed and don't respond to customers' requests, e.g., closed doors, asking questions, etc. The atmosphere is unfortunately no longer what it used to be; it's far too crowded these days, and the extra delivery service has created a hectic atmosphere.

Thank you for the wonderful dinner. The dishes are delicious and well-seasoned. The staff is very friendly but unfortunately a bit busy. The restaurant is busy, and reservations are definitely recommended. They also offer takeaway. Dogs are welcome on the terrace. See you next time.

Disappointed …. The restaurant should make a choice between quality of service for customers who dine in or take-out. We had dinner there on a Sunday evening between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., and we were seated on the path between the front door and reception. Not only were we freezing from the door constantly opening, but we also constantly had people standing next to our table while we were eating. It was incessant. In addition, the staff seemed stressed and annoyed, and the waitress made a mistake when taking our order, which meant that we were not able to eat our starter together. We also had to wait an hour and fifteen minutes between taking our order and the arrival of our main course. The restaurant is still nice and the food is decent, but I have the impression that the managers have bigger eyes than the belly. And that take-out clearly harms the experience of customers who eat on site. Damage ….

A restaurant I would like to give 10 stars to. Personally, it is difficult to find a Thai restaurant like this in Germany. There are 3 people, but because of the stroller, they comfortably seat 6 people. While looking for a Thai restaurant in Germany, Second, I found a really delicious house. Vorspeise today because of schedule 1 tom yum goong Order 2 noodle soups Order 1 filter beer, 1 non-filtered beer, and 1 non-alcoholic cocktail Sweet Home (?) They say that if the tom yum goong is delicious, all the food is delicious, and all the food here looks so delicious that I plan to come back to try the regular menu next time. I'm so sad that I couldn't eat today🥹 ㅠㅠ I definitely recommend this place★★★★★★★★★ The bathroom is also large and clean. Service is very good and friendly

Absolute favorite Thai!! The vegetarian alternative to duck is incredibly good! I love the separate area where you sit on cushions on the floor. I enjoy coming here regularly.

We have been going there for more than 7/8 years despite living more than an hour's drive away and that says a lot. If we're craving Thai cuisine, this is a safe destination. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. I just wished there were fewer fried entrees. Still highly recommended.

Delicious food, extensive menu (and original dishes of the month), very nice and relatively quick service, very atmospheric, especially in the "upper" area. A true pearl in Freiburg 💫 Also very child-friendly － there is enough space to park a stroller, lots of high chairs and changing tables in both toilets.

Das Hotel liegt nahe des Münsters. Das Zimmer war schön und sauber, das Bad in der Größe ausreichend. Zimmer war ruhig gelegen, das Frühstück mit einer großen Auswahl. Lecker und frisch. Der Service aufmerksam. Problematisch sind die Parkgebühren, die sind in der Umgebung hoch ( für Freiburg normal).

Great Thai restaurant with very good food and very friendly staff

When making a reservation via open table, you are asked about a special occasion (we had our 40th anniversary!), but this does not seem to be taken into account when allocating tables. We sat right in front of the counter! A large room with far too many tables. It was cool and drafty. The noise level is immense. The starters were ok. My wife's meal (fried duck breast) was lukewarm and the duck was also quite dry. After all, it's not all that cheap. I only knew Chada Thai from visits to the Malterdingen location (always satisfied so far), but the one here in Freiburg was a complete disappointment. We won't be visiting the restaurant again.

We finally had the opportunity to try Chada Thai and we weren't disappointed. First of all: Reservations, especially in the cold season, are an absolute must. The service is extremely on point, you don't have to wait long for anything. The restaurant was full to capacity, but they still took their time and brought out everything that was ordered quickly. It's not very comfortable, at least for my taste, if you sit at the front of the door, as it feels like the door opens every two minutes for take-away or new guests. The Thai iced tea is highly recommended. Overall, the food was very tasty, aromatic and nicely prepared. My husband had the vegan duck, which was also delicious. We paid €70 for four drinks, two starters and main courses, and a dessert. This is an unbeatable price-performance ratio. Thank you very much, we would love to come back!

Unusual restaurant with a great ambience in a quiet location in Freiburg Herdern. There is also traditional floor seating. Food can also be ordered for pickup. Be sure to reserve a table as it is often fully booked. Reservations cannot be made on the terrace.

It's a total shame, unfortunately it was a failure for the second time yesterday, the service was completely occupied with handing out food from pickup, it took 25 minutes for the order to be taken and then another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive, and the food was brought to the table almost cold. .. 2 waitresses, totally overwhelmed. 2 to clear away...perhaps this should be reorganized with street sales. We sat in the draft and it was cold because of all the in and out. The staff is very nice, but the quality suffers greatly. I'm not a complainer, but we won't be coming anymore for now. Lg

Great restaurant and good food. We ordered Pad Thai Gung and Ped Pad Gaprau (roasted duck with basil) which were really delicious. The restaurant's decoration was beautiful and the service was quick and prompt. The service staff was friendly. In addition, the prices for the dishes were reasonable and matched the portion. It would be advisable to reserve in advance as the tables are usually full.

Die Junior Suite ist exceptionell! Der Whirlpool sehr entspannend. Das Bett sehr bequem. Trotz Hüftproblemen habe ich hier wundervoll geschlafen. Zum Frühstück man sich sogar einen Saft frisch pressen oder selbst im Wafflemaker eine Waffel machen. Die Lage direkt an der Stadt ist optimal. Das Parken im Karlsbau Parkhaus zum Spezialtarif sehr gut. Die Lobby sowie das Restaurant waren wunderschön weihnachtlich dekoriert.

We are big Chada Thai fans and often order here for pickup when there is something to celebrate. It's quick, the food is great (especially for the vegan part of the family), there are reusable containers, and everyone is super friendly. We always like to come back.

The ambience was great. The food was good value for money. The curry didn't really taste like curry to me. We waited over an hour for the food. That wasn't good.

The starter plate was so-so, not particularly tasty. We haven't even eaten them yet. Not appropriate for the price. My friend thought that both meals were okay, but she wasn't particularly impressed. My meal was a disaster, the sauce was spicy water with no flavor and the shrimp just tasted like nothing. I have been to many Thai restaurants and often eat shrimp dishes there. I've never experienced anything like this before. The shrimp tasted like nothing. My girlfriend also agreed with me after trying it. However, the food would be taken back without much fanfare. I was offered a new meal but to be honest, I had lost my appetite. Too bad, it was my birthday dinner. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.

We've been coming here for years and the food is basically always stable and extremely tasty. The restaurant is always busy, the service is very pleasant and the quality is very good. At the top in Freiburg for Asian food. Really outstanding!!!

Overall, our visit to the restaurant was very pleasant. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and our reservation was taken into account. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and the service was consistently polite and attentive. The menu offers a wide selection and fits well with the atmosphere of the restaurant - there is something for every taste. The seafood was still a bit lacking. Otherwise, the food itself was great: the sauces were perfectly seasoned, the rice was always cooked to perfection, and both duck and chicken are highly recommended! The cocktails, on the other hand, were less convincing, but the excellent cuisine definitely made up for it. Unfortunately, the ambience didn't have the extremely typical traditional atmosphere that you might expect, but it was still decorated quite nicely. Nevertheless, a visit is worth it thanks to the friendly staff and the high quality of the food. The price of the restaurant is on the higher side, but you get generous and very tasty portions. We'd love to come back

Walked 5KM through heavy rain to have an evening like this... When we arrived at the restaurant, our coats were completely soaked. When we asked if there was still room for two people in the restaurant, there was panic that we would have our table available for an hour. Well understood, we arrived at 5pm! The service was very strict and unfriendly. I was told that my coat was wet. I would wet their "holy ground." I would have liked to go, but it was extremely stormy and raining outside. The Pad Thai food was average. Had nothing to do with traditional Thai cuisine. It was just fast food served on a plate and decorated with salad. We also had a stomach ache in the evening, no wonder given the quality of the food. 1 time and never again!!! What a shame!!

I just ate salmon with medicinal herbs (unfortunately ordered to take away) and am very dissatisfied. There were no herbs visible or tasteable, rather the main ingredient was apple!!?? I really wasn't expecting that and it wasn't tasty at all. It was disappointing.

The food is always great. The red panang curry coconut milk sauce is probably the best sauce I have ever tasted. I can highly recommend all dishes with this sauce! The service is very hard! On weekends it is always very crowded, even with waiting guests...which makes the atmosphere a bit hectic but in the end that speaks for the quality of the restaurant. When demand is high, supply must be good. I'm already looking forward to the next vegetarian duck with my favorite sauce :-)

Very nice, attentive service. Good dishes in the typical Asian style. 6-7 basic types are then simply varied with different types of meat. Everything very tasty and fresh. The range of vegetarian and vegan options is extraordinary. And the prices are okay too. Definitely a recommendation.

The food was completely cold after 3 minutes, but the vegetarian duck was delicious. We made a reservation and were shown to a table next to which people were waiting to pick up their food orders. There was loud conversation and smoking while we ate. The Chada Thai in Malterdingen is really recommended, you are seen as a guest there, unfortunately they just print money here and pay little attention to the guest's satisfaction, we won't be coming back!

One of my favorite Thai restaurants. I really like the atmosphere - both inside and outside. The food tastes great to me, whether it's meat or tofu, green or red curry - everything is delicious. Likewise the noodles “Pad Thai”.

I had reserved a table via OpenTable for 2 people on the terrace for 7:00 p.m. When we arrived we were told we could only sit inside. I don't understand why they even offer the service through OpenTable if they don't want to keep the reservations. We then went somewhere else. This restaurant is done for me. Never ever.

The food is really really tasty, especially the vegan/vegetarian duck! The service is very friendly but sometimes not very attentive. When picking up to go, it can happen that you still have to wait 20-30 minutes on site despite the announced time. I would still go there again and again because the food is very good and there is a huge selection of vegan dishes 😊
