Very tasty and authentic Thai cuisine! The food was always very good and fresh. Very reasonably priced. We'd love to come back. However, you should make a reservation as the restaurant is very busy!

We were there at the beginning of December. Everyone really enjoyed it and enjoyed it. Gladly again!!

It's a total shame, unfortunately it was a failure for the second time yesterday, the service was completely occupied with handing out food from pickup, it took 25 minutes for the order to be taken and then another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive, and the food was brought to the table almost cold. .. 2 waitresses, totally overwhelmed. 2 to clear away...perhaps this should be reorganized with street sales. We sat in the draft and it was cold because of all the going in and out. The staff is very nice, but the quality suffers greatly. I'm not a complainer, but we won't be coming anymore for now. Lg

Great restaurant and good food. We ordered Pad Thai Gung and Ped Pad Gaprau (roasted duck with basil) which were really delicious. The restaurant's decoration was beautiful and the service was quick and prompt. The service staff was friendly. In addition, the prices for the dishes were reasonable and matched the portion. It would be advisable to reserve in advance as the tables are usually full.

Die Junior Suite ist exceptionell! Der Whirlpool sehr entspannend. Das Bett sehr bequem. Trotz Hüftproblemen habe ich hier wundervoll geschlafen. Zum Frühstück man sich sogar einen Saft frisch pressen oder selbst im Wafflemaker eine Waffel machen. Die Lage direkt an der Stadt ist optimal. Das Parken im Karlsbau Parkhaus zum Spezialtarif sehr gut. Die Lobby sowie das Restaurant waren wunderschön weihnachtlich dekoriert.

We are big Chada Thai fans and often order here for pickup when there is something to celebrate. It's quick, the food is great (especially for the vegan part of the family), there are reusable containers, and everyone is super friendly. We always like to come back.

The ambience was great. The food was good value for money. The curry didn't really taste like curry to me. We waited over an hour for the food. That wasn't good.

The starter plate was so-so, not particularly tasty. We haven't even eaten them yet. Not appropriate for the price. My friend thought that both meals were okay, but she wasn't particularly impressed. My meal was a disaster, the sauce was spicy water with no flavor and the shrimp just tasted like nothing. I have been to many Thai restaurants and often eat shrimp dishes there. I've never experienced anything like this before. The shrimp tasted like nothing. My girlfriend also agreed with me after trying it. However, the food would be taken back without much fanfare. I was offered a new meal but to be honest, I had lost my appetite. Too bad, it was my birthday dinner. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.

Super delicious food (we had 2 dishes with vegetarian duck) & very stylish and cozy atmosphere! Highly recommended!

We've been coming here for years and the food is basically always stable and extremely tasty. The restaurant is always busy, the service is very pleasant and the quality is very good. At the top in Freiburg for Asian food. Really outstanding!!!

Overall, our visit to the restaurant was very pleasant. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and our reservation was taken into account. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and the service was consistently polite and attentive. The menu offers a wide selection and fits well with the atmosphere of the restaurant - there is something for every taste. The seafood was still a bit lacking. Otherwise, the food itself was great: the sauces were perfectly seasoned, the rice was always cooked to perfection, and both duck and chicken are highly recommended! The cocktails, on the other hand, were less convincing, but the excellent cuisine definitely made up for it. Unfortunately, the ambience didn't have the extremely typical traditional atmosphere that you might expect, but it was still decorated quite nicely. Nevertheless, a visit is worth it thanks to the friendly staff and the high quality of the food. The price of the restaurant is on the higher side, but you get generous and very tasty portions. We'd love to come back

A very good and surprisingly inexpensive restaurant that doesn't skimp on high-quality original ingredients. The area with the Thai tables and the beautiful garden lovingly round off the stay both inside and outside. I can highly recommend it

Best Thai food in Freiburg. Always full, the atmosphere sometimes seems very crowded, depressed, the outside area is very nice. Great food and friendly service. We were allowed to come with a dog.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated, the staff is very friendly and quick and the food was really tasty! The vegan duck was a convincing alternative to meat and the taste of the dishes was well balanced.

Walked 5KM through heavy rain to have an evening like this... When we arrived at the restaurant, our coats were completely soaked. When we asked if there was still room for two people in the restaurant, there was panic that we would have our table available for an hour. Well understood, we arrived at 5pm! The service was very strict and unfriendly. I was told that my coat was wet. I would wet their "holy ground." I would have liked to go, but it was extremely stormy and raining outside. The Pad Thai food was average. Had nothing to do with traditional Thai cuisine. It was just fast food served on a plate and decorated with salad. We also had a stomach ache in the evening, no wonder given the quality of the food. 1 time and never again!!! What a shame!!

I just ate salmon with medicinal herbs (unfortunately ordered to take away) and am very dissatisfied. There were no herbs visible or tasteable, rather the main ingredient was apple!!?? I really wasn't expecting that and it wasn't tasty at all. It was disappointing.

The food is always great. The red panang curry coconut milk sauce is probably the best sauce I have ever tasted. I can highly recommend all dishes with this sauce! The service is very hard! On weekends it is always very crowded, even with waiting guests...which makes the atmosphere a bit hectic but in the end that speaks for the quality of the restaurant. When demand is high, supply must be good. I'm already looking forward to the next vegetarian duck with my favorite sauce :-)

Very nice, attentive service. Good dishes in the typical Asian style. 6-7 basic types are then simply varied with different types of meat. Everything very tasty and fresh. The range of vegetarian and vegan options is extraordinary. And the prices are okay too. Definitely a recommendation.

The food was completely cold after 3 minutes, but the vegetarian duck was delicious. We made a reservation and were shown to a table next to which people were waiting to pick up their food orders. There was loud conversation and smoking while we ate. The Chada Thai in Malterdingen is really recommended, you are seen as a guest there, unfortunately they just print money here and pay little attention to the guest's satisfaction, we won't be coming back!

One of my favorite Thai restaurants. I really like the atmosphere - both inside and outside. The food tastes great to me, whether it's meat or tofu, green or red curry - everything is delicious. Likewise the noodles “Pad Thai”.

I had reserved a table via OpenTable for 2 people on the terrace for 7:00 p.m. When we arrived we were told we could only sit inside. I don't understand why they even offer the service through OpenTable if they don't want to keep the reservations. We then went somewhere else. This restaurant is done for me. Never ever.

The food is really really tasty, especially the vegan/vegetarian duck! The service is very friendly but sometimes not very attentive. When picking up to go, it can happen that you still have to wait 20-30 minutes on site despite the announced time. I would still go there again and again because the food is very good and there is a huge selection of vegan dishes 😊

Das Stadthotel Freiburg ist ein sehr schönes und sauberes Hotel. Besonders positiv zu erwähnen ist die ruhige und dennoch zentrale Lage. Man ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß mitten in der Altstadt. Das Zimmer (mit Blick auf den Schlossberg) war groß, sauber und vollständig ausgestattet. Das Personal durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit.

You should definitely make a reservation, a wide selection of fresh dishes. My highlight from the tapas menu was the glass noodle salad with minced chicken🌶️🌶️🌶️ The TV chefs would certainly describe this as a taste explosion😉 Unfortunately, the main course couldn't score any more points afterward because the duck dish no longer had the same taste. We would be happy to come back.

Buon hotel, in posizione comoda per visitare il centro città, colazione molto abbondante e curata, con servizio impeccabile, buona la pulizia, diversi garage comodi nei dintorni. Unici nei: la camera molto piccola e molto calda.

Unfortunately nothing special. I expected more. The food was quite bland and the meat was tough, and the broccoli was hard. Somehow totally inappropriate for such a restaurant were the side dishes in the dish such as cucumber, cabbage, tomato salad on the plate. I would like more traditional ingredients in the dish.

Absolute must-have if you like Thai or Asian food, also ideal for vegetarians and vegans. Shown here in the picture is the 134. Vegan and not spicy. Reservation is recommended as they are usually fully booked. Also very nice to sit outside in summer. Drink tip: homemade iced tea.

Guter Check in, nettes Personal. Super Frühstück. Wir hatten ein 4 Bettzimmer für 4 Erwachsene gebucht. Leider war das 4. Bett nur ein Feldbett. Wackelig und durchgelegen. Das ist für den Preis, den wir zu viert für das Zimmer bezahlt haben, nicht tragbar. Das kann man keiner erwachsenen Person zumuten so zu schlafen.

Very busy (>100 people); excellent food for reasonable price

It was very crowded during our stay which made it very noisy. The food was good but not breathtaking. Vegetarian dishes were all made with peat only. There were no vegetable-only dishes.

The atmosphere is very natural and there are lots of real green plants, handmade artistic objects and very authentic decor. Whether you sit inside or outside: a bit like a vacation in Thailand!

I had high hopes but left feeling disappointed. The entrees were good but not especially so. The duck curry main course was disappointing. The meat was dry, the accompanying vegetables standard fare and the sauce lacked flavour (and had not a hint of complexity). I won't be coming back.

Tuesday night and most of the tables were reserved but we managed to get a table if we promised to be quick, which was nice of them to accommodate. It was a special occasion so I appreciated that. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with great cosy feeling and amazing outdoor terrace. I loved the food as well - delicious starters and curry. The red curry and massaman were loaded with vegetables which is great and the flavours were spicy and good. They could have been a bit stronger and there could have been more of a difference between the massaman and red curry so that’s why I giving it four stars. I would go here if you’re looking for a Thai restaurant in Freiburg with nice atmosphere for a nice meal.

Very tasty Thai food. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy and the sauces were very tasty. Price-wise also top.

Good Thai dishes. Crispy, vegetarian duck made from Seitan is great for veggies. Price/performance is consistent. The only downside is that the dishes weren't served hot.

Service and ambience good. Food wasn't anything special for my taste. We ok but also nothing more and nothing less. Starters better than the main course.

In my opinion, the vegetarian duck is not really recommended. The duck had something, but that certain something was missing. There was a certain flavor missing, a spice that made the duck taste more intense, because when I ate the duck, it tasted so "empty". You either have to like the homemade iced tea or not. Unfortunately it wasn't my thing. I'm actually a huge fan of iced tea, but that wasn't the case this time. The journey was long and unfortunately not worth it for me. However, the atmosphere and furnishings were very nice and appropriately designed.

Super delicious food and beautiful location. It is advisable to sit outside, especially when the weather is good. Prices are okay, unfortunately like everywhere else they're not that cheap anymore, but oh well. Beer and cocktails are totally okay though :-)

Very tasty food, large portions and a fair price. Everything is freshly prepared and tastes really great. The staff is friendly and despite the shop being full, there are no long waiting times. It is definitely recommended to reserve a table as it is always very busy.

Very authentic restaurant in the middle of Freiburg Herdern. One of my favorite restaurants. So far only positive experiences there. Enough vegetarian and vegan selection. The vegetarian duck is highly recommended. The restaurant is quite popular so you should definitely call and reserve in advance. Parking is possible on the surrounding street.

Food is good, a little salty (you can tell when you're thirsty afterwards). Staff friendly. However, in the evening we had to wait 25 minutes for the pre-ordered table, everyone else before and after us too, waiting time outside in the cold for 20-30 minutes! We've never experienced anything like this before. However, the food came relatively quickly. It was relatively narrow inside, tables are very close to each other, so you can easily overhear the conversation at the next table.

Seasoning and cooking are OK. for us Europeans. Spring rolls like frozen food; still taste good. Pleasant, urgent service.

Laab Gai very tasty. Curry could be a little spicier, but tasty. Reservation recommended.

I almost never give 5* in advance! We've been there twice now. The first time we were thrilled, especially by the vegan duck. At the second time, all the food at the table had significant weaknesses (e.g. rice too hard and not enough), so only 3 points for food.

Unfriendly reception, always possible with a dog and always other dogs there without any problems. This time especially from Switzerland for the 6th! Once we drove up, we were brushed off in an unfriendly manner despite a reservation and confirmation for the dog, not recommended. We were here for the last time

Sehr gutes Thai Restaurant. Die Gerichte sind gut gekocht, schmecken frisch und gut. Der Service ist sehr schnell und gut. ACHTUNG: Besser nichts scharfes bestellen, die scharfen Gerichte sind teils abartig scharf und nicht für den deutschen Geschmack geeignet.

The food I ordered in Chada Thai, a vegetarian option with Tofu and Thai herbs for healing purposes was surprisingly outstanding! The combined flavours worked together perfectly in one dish. A great choice of flavours and textures. Such as combining fresh peaces of Apple with fried Kaffir lime leaves and other herbs. Absolutely tasty and new to me. The only thing that could be improved on it for me would be to put a bit more sauce on it. Other than that from seasoning to the way it was cooked and the ingredients just perfect. I like the decoration in the restaurant, the sitting options and the atmosphere.

Speisen sind geschmacklich gut und werden mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet. Preislich okay, das Personal total überfordert. Haben über eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet.

Beste vegane Ente! Jedes mal richtig lecker! Empfehlung: wer viel Soße mag bestellt "gericht xy IN Soße" statt mit Soße. Sonst ist die Soße für meinen Geschmack zu wenig.

This used to be our go-to place for amazing Thai food and great service. But now, unfortunately, its glory has fallen. The food is obnoxiously unhealthy, with way too much oil oozing out of everything. Twice now we got back home feeling like throwing up after eating here just because of the greasiness in the food. The curries are also watered down now. The last time we were there, the guy who showed us the table was rude and insisted that we don't sit for longer than an hour. We were there at 18h05 on a Thursday evening. We were happy to return later after reserving a table but he said that would not be possible. Maybe we just got unlucky, twice?! But definitely not returning to this Chada Thai again.

Great Thai meal in Freiberg. Will go again if I ever visit that city again.

Ich bin regelmäßiger Gast im Chardatei und muss sagen, dass das Essen hier immer wieder ein Genuss ist. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die vegetarische Ente – ein echter Gaumenschmaus, den ich jedem empfehlen kann. Egal ob es Frühling, Sommer oder Winter ist, das Ambiente im Chardatei ist immer einladend und gemütlich, sowohl drinnen als auch im Außenbereich. Ein besonderes Lob verdient auch ihr Engagement für Nachhaltigkeit, was sich in vielen Aspekten des Restaurants widerspiegelt. Auch die Option, Speisen mitzunehmen, finde ich sehr praktisch. Ich kann das Chardatei uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen – ein Besuch hier ist immer ein besonderes Erlebnis.

Super leckere Gerichte. Ob mit Fisch oder Fleisch. Ebenso die veganen Gerichte sind genial . Ist für jeden Geschmack was dabei.
