I visited Cedo Bar y Tapas in Hanau, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The tapas were delicious, as were the drinks, the fish soup, and the paella, which exceeded my expectations. The service is first-class: the staff is very friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. Furthermore, the service is fast, so you don't have to wait long for your food. A place I can 100% recommend for enjoying authentic Spanish food in a cozy atmosphere.

A true highlight in Hanau! If you love authentic Spanish cuisine, this is the place to be. The tapas are incredibly delicious and varied, and the perfect location makes it a perfect spot for a day trip. Whether you're cozying up inside or relaxing outside, you immediately feel at home. I go to eat in CEDO for the tapas. Without a reservation, things can sometimes get tight. You have to look for a parking space in the area. CEDO is also good for drinks at the bar, for example Cuba Libre.

Hey, I left a review for this Spanish restaurant on Tripadvisor: The rolls were yesterday's rubber eagles from a plastic bag. Albondigas with sweet tomato sauce and strange meatballs. The octopus, at €17, was partly tough. Squid rings were drowning in the marinade. The grilled chicken was bone dry and some of it was still bloody inside. The service was unfriendly, and we had to push the table against the wall to our stomachs to save space. Even though we had reserved for five people in advance. The steak, large olives, aioli, and anchovies in vinegar were good. As former Hanauers, we'd rather go to Salzstrasse or Großauheim when Spanish food is back in fashion. Is it possible that at Cedo, you don't try the food yourself? According to my nephew, you can eat steak there, but for me, it's not enough for Spanish food. It's a shame, as we were really looking forward to the food there. Note: It's very loud there. Conversation is only possible with the person sitting directly next to you.

Great, the renovation was a real success, the entire interior, the tap area for the waiters, the restrooms... They've really thought of everything and put a lot of effort into it, and I have to say, the food is truly delicious. It's been our favorite Spanish restaurant for many years. Respect, keep it up 😎

Unfortunately, it ultimately turned out to be a very disappointing visit. In an age where card payments are standard almost everywhere, it wasn't possible here – and the fact was only given very limited notice. When paying, an unpleasant situation arose in which the waiter reacted unfriendly and arrogantly when we asked for the payment. We definitely won't be returning and can't recommend the restaurant.

This was our second time there, and both times it was perfect! Even on the flamenco night, when it was really busy, we didn't have to wait and all the waitresses were super friendly. The food was delicious; there were 11 of us, and everyone enjoyed it. The atmosphere was fantastic. Simply a great restaurant.

We visited CEDO for the first time since the renovations in the spring. We were impressed by what had been accomplished in such a short time. The ambiance, new tables, the bar area, and the outdoor lighting were all very nice. What stood out were the restrooms. It was like being in a grand hotel. The food, as always, was excellent. No, not recommended. They don't have the place under control. The service was the most unfriendly I've experienced in years. They forgot to take our order, rudely criticized the order. Paella was disgusting, poor quality, and the albondigas were so bad. A true disaster. The worst Spanish restaurant I've ever eaten at.

We've been customers for over 15 years and were looking forward to eating at Cedo, but today's experience was extremely disappointing. The service was unusually poor (the order was forgotten, the quality was tasteless and poor, and it tasted like a ready meal from Aldi). We are extremely disappointed.

Always a place to go for good food.

I first ate there over 30 years ago. During that time, the food has always been consistently high quality. We go there to eat good tapas, share, drink good Spanish beer, or enjoy the main courses. Not only the owners, Juan and Luis, who handed over management to the younger generation in April 2025, are particularly fond of this. A new bar, restrooms, and consistent corporate identity complete the new look.

Were there for dinner and watching football. Both Spain and Germany played so it was full but the atmosphere was great. The food was great as always and since it was Sunday there were even churros 😍

The opening times aren't correct and although when you ask on site they say that the kitchen is actually still open, you still don't get anything because they close the kitchen even earlier. Cedo = absolute waste of time. Go somewhere else unless you want dinner for breakfast.

A visit to the CEDO restaurant is absolutely worth it. The food was very tasty. The service is professional and warm, the atmosphere is inviting. We were completely satisfied and would love to come back!

The food was good except for a few little things and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right, I would even pay more and get better quality for some things. The service could definitely be better, of course it was busy, but we ordered drinks at 7 p.m. and food at 7:55 p.m. The food didn't come at the same time, there were eight of us and some of us ate nothing, others were still waiting, you don't expect that from a restaurant with over 30 years of experience... I also think as a southerner (I'm Spanish too ;)) it's untypical to get a roll with ajoli and tapas, we had to constantly reorder. Paying extra for bread is normal in Germany and therefore ok, but I would then offer bread baskets of better quality and not individual water rolls. A lady found her calamari too salty and only ate one of it and told the waitress straight away. They neither offered to remake it nor take it out of the bill, instead they said "the kitchen has tried it, they are not oversalted". To be honest, I don't know that. So overall it's OK, but there's really potential for improvement and I really hope that these little things can be improved after the renovation, that would be really great.

Typically Spanish simple and honest home cooking. Always rather loud and lively. No chance without a reservation. Will be modernized in April 2025 and will therefore be available from March 31st. temporarily closed.

We knew Cedo from previous visits years ago. This time we found the kitchen rather lousy. To be precise, the chicken with garlic: very dry from the deep fryer and clearly excessively garlicky. Milk rolls with aioli are not correct either. We're not going there anymore for now.

The service is warm and you feel like you're in good hands, first of all... Just don't use the seats at the back... It's true that walking the extra two steps is a big obstacle. The tapas were very tasty, prawns, pimientos, alioli or they small anchovies, high quality tetrapack sangría. ¡La verdadera sangría! Unfortunately, the main course remains just a delicious memory from the past. The fried garlic chicken will be dry and almost inedible. Warning: the garlic flag will stay with you for several days :). The ambience is very spartan with a flair that has stuck around since the 80s. Maybe the paella 🥘 will be better next time.

A few days ago we celebrated our company Christmas party with over 40 people in the Cedo and were absolutely thrilled! The atmosphere was fantastic, the organization ran smoothly and the food was simply great - from the tapas to the main courses. Everything was prepared with a lot of love. The team gave us a really great evening and we felt completely comfortable. Thank you for the great hospitality! We would definitely like to come back and can only warmly recommend Cedo.

The food itself wasn't bad, but it wasn't an authentic dish like we know in Spain.

On November 25th, 20 of us visited the CEDO restaurant hoping to have a cozy dinner with the company based on the positive reviews we had read. We made reservations a month in advance and wanted Christmas table decorations. This shouldn't be a problem except that €1 per person is charged according to the restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. Despite a reservation, we found that the Christmas table decorations had not been implemented. Instead we received flowers 🌺 tablecloths. We also found that we couldn't eat together. The orders that were taken at the end were served first. We had to wait 20-30 minutes The rest of the order had to wait, by then the food had of course already cooled down and the service was inattentive throughout our entire stay and didn't respond to any requests. It was particularly disappointing that my main course, which was... Part grilled seafood platter had no real flavor to fish and was served dry, which does not meet expectations for a restaurant of this price range. We shared this feedback on site and were told that this was not the standard, without being offered a concrete solution." At the end, when we paid, we discovered that they suddenly charged €1.50 per person for the flower tablecloth. Although the ambience of the restaurant was inviting, the service and the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. Training staff in customer service and stricter quality control of dishes could help improve the experience of future guests. We were open to not giving the restaurant another chance if these improvements were not implemented."

At the end of the day, they are very rude and literally escort you out even though the glasses are still full. You will also be chased away outside the door. We would be chased away with the leaf blower. We couldn't even have a smoke and say goodbye to each other. When the blower didn't help, glass cleaner was used. And the tables that are standing outside, accessible to everyone overnight, are always cleaned, we would dirty them with our fingers. When we spoke to them, the only answer we got was that they were off work. Honestly, I highly recommend it, that's right. If you don't want it, you already have it, you should try it as a street purchase.

The food wasn't bad but it wasn't the best either, we were a group of 8 people, everyone got different food and I even got it at the end even though it was a simple cold dish. Service ufff I'd rather save myself the comment that it really is all the last ahhhhh and no card payment possible. The place is very old, which is perfect for a snack bar. No parking option

2 shrimps 3.90 but what was meant was 2 pieces. Order at least with ayoli. I ordered 4 pieces. There wasn't even a piece of bread with it. The boss then said that it would be nicer if at least 2 small pieces of white bread were served with it - he just said that he had to pay 1000 euros a month for bread, so don't add any bread and that for a price of a good 15.60 euros. Fish soup soon tasted like chicken soup. Steak was knocked out. They will never see me again!!!

Top Spaniards.... we've been coming here for 30 years, there were still "Romans" as wine glasses! However, I have one suggestion for improvement: Please go back to the baguette instead of the rolls...

The restaurant is quietly decorated in Spanish, but is not run by a Spaniard. As a Spanish woman, I would never eat there again. Unfortunately, all dishes are served with paprika powder, chopped peppers and parsley. This, this also about cold plates. The pollo al ajillo was boiled and not fried as it should be, the tortilla was definitely not Spanish, as there were peppers and other things in it that don't belong in a tortilla.

Unfortunately for me it was the worst Spanish restaurant I have ever experienced. Started with the waitress, a lady who already made us feel that we weren't welcome! The food arrived differently! But unfortunately the worst thing for me was the food! Unfortunately the tapas didn't taste good at all. The bread I ordered alone was an old roll! I will never go here again. €35 that I could have thrown in the trash

Dessert was super delicious. What struck me as extremely negative was that there was an inexplicable tension between the service staff and the so-called management. In my opinion, a restaurant is the best place to relieve everyday stress. Definitely not the other way around. Moira is an extremely sweet, very attractive and hard-working bee. The usual regulars only partially notice this because they are mostly drunk. 😂 And there are rumors circulating that there will be a change of power in the management team. 2 future managing directors know one of them and like him very much. Dennis (: personable, competent and extremely good-looking) is ideally suited for this task. The second hmmmmh, well let's put it this way, extremely resistant to advice. If I didn't know that it was part of it, it could have stood there as a wide coat stand. Hehe. No, seriously. Gastronomy does not mean resting on the past. Think through the concept every now and then. That often helps and doesn't cost anything. Ps. I always like to evaluate things with both a laughing and a crying eye. But I never mean it in a bad way. I actually always enjoyed going there, the female waitresses are always extremely friendly and attentive, high praise! The slightly older male waiter, on the other hand, could learn something from this. Apart from the fact that he was extremely unfriendly to our table (literally shouted at us as soon as we didn't understand something acoustically), he was also “super funny”. We were a table full of Asians, walking by and saying Chinese words isn't funny or makes any sense, it's just plain racist. I would prefer to give zero stars but the female service was really outstanding and that's the only reason I gave it 3 stars.

We ate there on a recommendation. The food was very good and we were satisfied. The atmosphere was like being on holiday, probably because there was a large group of Portuguese people sitting at the neighboring table. Happy to come back! The only point would be the "German" rolls. I don't know if they exist in Spain too.

It is simply incomprehensible how in 2024 it will not be possible to pay a bill of over €100 in a restaurant with a card. There are now so many options for introducing card payments. The fact that this is not accepted is absurd, but as everyone knows - if you don't move with the times, you move with the times. In addition, the seats outside were closed and it was said that they were reserved, so you couldn't sit down. Nobody came the whole evening, so you were also lied to. Too bad.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't good at all and wasn't prepared in an appetizing way either. Unfortunately I don't understand the hype surrounding this Spaniard and I can't recommend it. Unfortunately not recommended! We had reserved a table and because we got stuck in a traffic jam at a construction site, we called and said we would be there about 10-20 minutes later. The man on the phone said that it was okay, but that the kitchen closed at 10 p.m. The gentleman did not end the phone call, so we overheard him describing the situation to his colleague, whereupon she said, “That can’t be right, they’re lying.” When we arrived at the restaurant, we were stressed several times while reading the menu to order, even though it was only 9 p.m. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing either because it wasn't seasoned at all or was seasoned too much, and we were constantly watched during the meal, which gave us an unpleasant feeling.

The waitress was very rude and looked at us while we were eating, making us feel uncomfortable the whole time. The food was cheaply made and many of us felt sick afterwards. We're definitely not coming back!

For me, it's like I'm always treating myself to a little bit of home when I go out to eat there. The food is always really good! It doesn't matter whether it's fish or meat, there's something to suit everyone. I love the tapas and especially Pulpo a la Gallega! A must for octupus fans!

Food is OK. Unfortunately the service was poor and the staff were quite unfriendly. I said hello twice when I came in, was looked at but didn't get an answer back. We reserved for 6 people and then came with 7. The waiter then said “they reserved for 6 people but came with 7 pff” Although there were enough places. We didn't let that get us down and didn't want to let it ruin Mother's Day. The starters came quite quickly. Then came the main course… Only 3 of us got it at the table and the rest of the people had to wait almost an hour for their food. When the others had already finished their food, the others had already lost their appetite. I then went to the front and wanted to have and pay the bill for the food and drinks I had eaten. We were therefore banned from the house and exposed in front of all other guests. We didn't get a single apology or anything. That's why this was the last visit to CEDO. and Mother's Day was ruined for us, thank you :)

Langostinos were raw and musty 🤢🤮 and out of 7 people only 4 people got their food.. the other 3 meals were simply not taken in at all 😡 unfriendly staff, the waitress then said what she could do if we didn't get any food!!!! Never again !!!!

The dishes are very good! However, the staff is constantly OVERCHALLENGED We gave the store a chance today for the third time and the last. Despite saying “Hello” twice, we weren’t even looked at. It could be due to stress... We thought. Unfortunately, the starters all arrived at different times, so eating together was not possible. By the way, the olive oil from the tapas shrimp is simply passed on and not freshly prepared for each guest. The garlic pieces and the chillies are naturally burnt and almost black. Of the 5 main courses, 2 were only prepared after an hour and one was completely forgotten. When we were hungry and wanted to pay and leave, the staff put us down in front of all the guests, as if it were our own fault. We could have asked where the food was. Even the restaurant manager attacked us and quickly banned us from the house. ZERO CRITICAL! Although we as guests remained very calm throughout the whole situation. Anyone who wants to eat here needs a strong skin! We wouldn't have come back without a house ban and Spanish insults. Certainly.
