Casa Portuguesa in Leverkusen

Great atmosphere, friendly service. For me, the price was significantly too high for the quality and quantity of the tapas, especially for Opladen (train station district). Overall, I found the tapas tasty, but unfortunately not particularly special – except for the fish soup, which was really great and also good value for money. I also missed a salada mista at "Casa Portugesa," which I've seen in many Portuguese restaurants, including the Portuguese Association, so I believe it's available in Portuguese cuisine. I found it "unreasonable" to charge €14.90 for a small tapas dish with shrimp (fairly small shrimp, not prawns). Even though tapas are nice, in my opinion, it's more suited to a Spanish restaurant than a traditional Portuguese one. Therefore, I give it a maximum of 4 stars for the friendly service and ambiance, while the food overall is more likely to be rated at 3 stars. I would have also preferred the pastéis de nata slightly warmed up, which would have made it taste even better and bring out the flavors better (especially at €5 each). Addendum: I've slightly adjusted my rating because I understand the point about the quail, even though it was just an example. Nevertheless, I find it a shame that my criticism, even the positive one, wasn't received objectively.

Almost all of the food was very tasty, but the portions were rather small, and the restaurant filled up very quickly and was therefore quite loud.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food cannot quite keep up with the great ambience. It's a shame we expected more.

I've heard a lot and was finally there myself. Very tasty food and service, I can only recommend it. Ambiance is also very cozy. Price performance is perfectly fine. My girlfriend and I paid around €60 and were there for 4 hours. I'd love to come back.

If we want to spend a nice evening with good friends, then we go here. The concept of lots of small dishes to swap and try out creates a lively exchange at the table. The service is friendly and also quite quick with the orders. Considering that you get so much on offer, the price at the end of the evening is reasonable. We'd love to come back.

We had a wonderful girls' night here yesterday. Since the restaurant is halfway between all of us, we trusted the good reviews and held our Christmas dinner here. And the decision was exactly right. The tapas were delicious, the atmosphere was warm and cheerful and the service was very nice. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back again.

Terrific! There were three of us there. First impression: very friendly welcome; great facility :) Food: great - we felt like we were on vacation. Very tasty, large selection. In our opinion, everyone will find something. That's how it was with us - of course everyone has their own taste. (For the lamb meatball, please indicate on the menu that paprika is included. We didn't know - maybe we missed it?) Looked great to the others and tasted just the same. Number three couldn't eat it due to intolerance. Service: courteous - despite the well-staffed location, always there when needed. Ambience: great! Just great. We missed a restaurant like this. We'll definitely be back!

Already delicious! Overall it can be described as good. However, it didn't blow me away. The bottom line is that the price-performance ratio didn't convince me. Too expensive. Unfortunately, not all orders were taken correctly or things were misunderstood.

Very nice and lovingly furnished restaurant. The entire menu contains many different delicacies. There is something for every taste here. The entire service works wonderfully. Even on a Saturday evening when the store is full. Reservation of a table is recommended. Have eaten there several times and always like to come back.

It was very nice, the service was attentive and very friendly, the food was very tasty. The drinks were great too! However, we unfortunately don't find value for money appropriate, mainly due to the portion sizes. You can't estimate these from the menu and some tapas are very small/not much for the price, but some are quite good. It tasted very good, but unfortunately we weren't full compared to what we spent. In the future we would only afford this for special events. The ambience was also nice, we sat outside, but apparently smoking at the neighboring table was also allowed. We didn't complain, but I'd probably bring it up next time. Thank you very much, overall we had a very nice evening!

We ended up in this beautiful, rustic restaurant today by chance and were very impressed. You can find really authentic Portuguese cuisine here. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant was full and there was a lot to do. We can only recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back there very soon. 😀

Very good Portuguese restaurant! The tapas were very tasty and reasonably priced. We were there with 8 people and the restaurant was very well attended. Nevertheless, the food arrived quickly and hot. Our highlight - the Iberico ribs & the BBQ shrimps wrapped in bacon. There are free parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. Casa Portuguesa is also easy to reach by bus or train. We'd love to come back!

Simply delicious, very good service and totally cozy! The tapas were delicious and good in quantity. The aioli with the bread at the beginning is absolutely delicious. And the dessert (pastel de nata) is also very good. The cocktails are mixed very well. The service is friendly, fast and attentive. The location of the restaurant in Opladen is very good. We sat outside when the weather was dry. The interiors are beautifully decorated in Portuguese style and the walls are very stylish. Thank you for the delicious evening. A very nice shop and great, very friendly service. Everything is super clean and the food isn't bad either. However, I was hoping for more and I've already eaten better. I always wanted to go to the Portuguese restaurant in Bahnstadt and at the weekend the time had come. Unfortunately I was really a bit disappointed with the food. Didn't really find it exceptional and have had better tapas. The prices have also gone down. 2 skewers with shrimp for 15.xx euros. I know crabs have become expensive, but it was just a bit too boring. Even the ham for 13 euros didn't blow me away. I just lacked a bit of “oomph” in every pan. There was just 100 grams of shaved ham without anything. I find that a bit boring/unloving for the price. At least add a little decoration🫠 The review sounds totally terrible, but it wasn't at all, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. Just found it a bit boring for the price. I'm happy to pay more money for good food, but then I also expect something a little bit special and that's what I was missing. To end on a positive note: the ambience and service are really A+ with stars.

The restaurant only offers tapas. We were there shortly after 6 p.m. when the restaurant opened and it was almost completely full. Therefore it is best to reserve. The decor is great and the food is great. However, the portions are small and a bit overpriced.

We have been there around 10 times in the last 5 years and have ALWAYS been satisfied without exception. Outstanding food and the staff overall was super nice and accommodating. It's not a criticism for us, but you have to expect long, long waiting times and easily plan around 1.5 to 2 hours for the meal.

Very good Portuguese restaurant with delicious tapas. The prices are absolutely fine. The atmosphere is very nice. I would particularly like to highlight the staff. It was great service, the staff was extremely friendly and we were even addressed by name, in a very smart way. We really liked it and we will definitely come back again. I recommend making a reservation in advance as it was quite busy there on the weekend. There is free street parking.

The Casa Portuguesa is very individually designed. Portuguese elements everywhere. The food is good. But it is always full. This makes it quite loud and cramped. Reservations are essential.

We won't be coming back. It was supposed to be a cozy birthday dinner with friends, unfortunately the evening ended short and uncomfortable because after almost two hours we were rudely asked to vacate the table because 56 more people were expected. This would supposedly be communicated when the reservation was confirmed, which is demonstrably not true. Addition to the owner's answer: I could prove the opposite with screenshots of the booking (no time slot specified) and my companions could confirm the unfriendly service, but why... there are many good restaurants without a time slot where the customer is king, go there we would like to go there. Who wants to eat with a timeslot, it only benefits the host and not the guest 🤣.

Wir kommen nicht wieder. Es sollte ein gemütliches Geburtstagsessen mit Freunden werden, leider endete der Abend kurz und ungemütlich, da wir nach knapp zwei Stunden unfreundlich aufgefordert wurden den Tisch frei zu machen, da noch 56 weitere Leute erwartet würden. Dies würde angeblich bei der Reservierungsbestätigung mitgeteilt, was nachweislich nicht stimmt.

Best tapas restaurant I know, all the tapas are so delicious, the house wine St. Jorge is good, the cocktails are also delicious! Service very friendly and quick. Be sure to reserve, always full. 3 to 4 tapas per person are enough. The price is a bit higher, we pay 45 euros per person for 3-4 tapas, a glass of wine, water and a small dessert.

We ended up at Casa Portuguesa by chance because we actually wanted to eat a waffle in the ice cream parlor in front of it, but they were out of waffles. So we decided to go on to Casa Portuguesa because the delicious smell of food wafted over from there. We took a seat on the outdoor terrace and immediately felt like we were on vacation. Great ambience, quiet music in the background, it smelled wonderfully of freshly prepared Mediterranean food and we received a very friendly welcome and were served aioli and some bread with the drinks we ordered. We then decided on some tapas from the extensive menu and after a short time they were freshly prepared and served beautifully in small clay bowls and pans. Everything was really delicious and we were absolutely full! Since the menu is so extensive and we haven't tried everything for a long time, we will of course come back and let ourselves be surprised by the other tapas in this great holiday atmosphere. Unfortunately our second visit to Casa Portuguesa wasn't so nice. After we came to the restaurant for the first time about six months ago and were totally thrilled, we are now even more disappointed. It started when, despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost half an hour until we were shown to our table. The drinks we ordered came quite quickly, but the sangria we ordered consisted mainly of ice cubes. We ordered some tappas - including squid rings (calamares), Portuguese potato chips, albondingas and fried cheese balls. The calamari was pure frozen food of poor quality, as were the advertised Portuguese potato chips. The Albondingas seemed to come from a can, but the cheese balls were a complete disaster! They were cold and the cheese wasn't soft at all, or runny inside. When we complained about this to the really nice waitress, she took the cheese balls back and brought us a new portion after a few minutes. Now the cheese balls were not only cold, but still frozen inside!! So that doesn't work at all! If you have the opportunity to improve the kitchen, it can't get any worse! To the restaurant's credit, we got a drink on the house and didn't have to pay for the uneaten cheese balls. After the first, really good impression, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food after our second visit! Offering frozen food at such high prices is simply not possible! I go to a restaurant to treat myself to culinary delights! I can also put frozen food in the oven at home if I don't feel like cooking! The only positive thing was the very nice and attentive service.

This restaurant is really nice place. Comfy atmosphere. Staff or really professional and helpful. But some small plates prices are very high. For example gambas öl (13,90€). There is just 3 pieces shrimps. But fully recommended place.

Das Essen war super, auch das Super bock ist wirklich lecker. Der Service immer freundlich und alles ist sehr familiär. Hat mir wirklich gut gefallen, auch vegetarisch wird man satt. Der Kekskuchen am Ende war der Knaller.

Die Rippchen waren zart und saftig, und die Kartoffelecken hatten eine angenehme Schärfe. Der Dessert am Ende war ein krönender Abschluss. Das Ambiente und die Präsentation der Gerichte war toll. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Danke für den schönen Abend🧡
