Carls Brauhaus in Stuttgart

Cozy brewery. Unfortunately, the boss banned us from playing cards “for economic reasons”, even though we were drinking beer. We would have liked to drink a few more beers and wanted to eat. Apparently that's not economical... we would have easily spent another 100€+. There were also numerous tables available. At the competition we were able to eat delicious food, drink beer AND play cards. But otherwise the staff is great!

Drinking beer and playing cards is something the boss forbids. It's a shame, we would have probably consumed more but that's just how we go.

Typical German restaurant with many different Swabian dishes. The knuckle was super crispy and very tasty with the coleslaw! You can also just come by without a reservation and after waiting 10 minutes we were allowed to sit down.

Very friendly service staff. We had Wienerschnitzel with fried potatoes, potatoes with quark sauce and salmon marinated with mustard-honey sauce. Was very good.

Very incompetent employees, especially the foreman with blue eyes and black hair. We ordered food with fries, but they weren't fries, they were rubbish!! They charge prices like in star hotels but they deliver rubbish. Stale dry remnants of fries with dry meat after waiting for a while... After eating half of them (mini portions), we were tired of them. When we complained that they weren't actually fries but rather the throwaway part of fries that shouldn't be served, they weren't interested. We then paid for the meal and went home half hungry. In the evening we had a stomach ache. The ambience is nice, and that's the only nice thing about this restaurant, but that's deceptive. A pure disaster. Never again!!

We have been to this restaurant several times, we always came unannounced and always got a seat. Sometimes you have to wait a bit because the house is always busy. Today we were asked to sit with other visitors, which wasn't a problem for us as the ladies were nice and there were only two of us. I deducted a star from the meal because I found the ratio of meat and side dishes unbalanced. Otherwise, like previous times, it was very tasty. The staff is always nice and tries hard. You can also sit outside when the weather is nice

We are here over the weekend and went there twice for a beer and ate coffee and cake. The waiter was very friendly and attentive and even though it was full we had everything at the table quickly.

One of the worst visits I've had so far. Some of us were asked out after a short time because they didn't order anything to eat, even though we had been told several times beforehand that this was okay. The service was super unfriendly and referred to the supposed “boss”. But according to the service, he couldn't be spoken to or found. You have definitely lost us as customers. (15 people)

We arrived at 9pm with a group of 15 people. We asked for free seats and communicated openly that we actually only wanted something to drink but that we could also order something to eat. The waitress comes intrusively several times and asks for food orders. At 10 p.m. we were advised to please leave the table…. The kitchen closes at 10:30 p.m. Incomprehensible to us. We didn't allow ourselves to be blackmailed and left the store knowing we wouldn't return here again.

We went to eat on a recommendation and, although the dishes on the menu sound very attractive, the truth is that the flavor of their dishes left a lot to be desired. And please don't misunderstand me, there was nothing wrong with them, but the truth is that there was nothing delicious either. The food lacks identity, intensity or even personality, with weak or tasteless flavors, mediocre presentation, cold dishes, sauces worse than the packaged ones bought in the supermarket, etc., which makes it a restaurant with a terrible price/quality ratio. and, therefore, not at all recommended. I highlight the attention, which without being outstanding, was up to par. And the beers we tried were pretty good.

This is a huge restaurant situated right next to Stuttgart's Schlossplatz. It seemed quite commercial - given its size and prime location, it's going to pull the punters regardless. Food (Maultaschen with potato salad, accompanied by Spätzle) was good, even if I had the impression that it rolled off a "conveyor belt". Friendly service, and quick. I'd eat there again.

Delicious food, friendly service, very loud when it's full

We spontaneously decided to stop at Carl's Brauhaus on a Saturday lunchtime. The restaurant was packed, but we were greeted warmly at the door and shown to a table. The waiter responsible for us quickly brought the cards and after we ordered, both drinks and food came quickly and, above all, at the same time. The food was very good. One person in our group also ordered dessert, for fun with 5 spoons that were actually brought. The friendliness of the staff must definitely be emphasized, because unfortunately that is no longer a given. We'd love to come back.

The food was good. Unfortunately the prices are a bit expensive now. What was cheeky was that the waitress explicitly asked at the end, "would you like to leave a tip" - whether we wanted to give a tip. So no more thanks, you deserve that when the service is excellent, not when you have only done the minimum. In Germany, tipping is not mandatory and we don't want to be like the Americans where you are forced to. If you don't get paid enough, ask your employer for a wage increase. The food was good (not mind-blowing but good enough and representative enough of the region). Unfortunately, the prices are now a bit expensive. In Germany tipping is not a must and it should not turn into the American system, where you are forced to tip. A bit noisy but otherwise nice ambience

I actually wanted to deduct a star for the ambience because it was very loud but the waiter removed it. Very, very friendly staff, food was very good. I can highly recommend the restaurant. I'll go there again next time I'm in Stuttgart

Essen und Service waren hervorragend. Das Ambiente wirkt insgesamt etwas „kalt“ und nicht so gemütlich; außerdem haben meine Begleitung und ich es als sehr laut empfunden. Man war immer bemüht, die Lautstärke der Gäste des naheliegenden Tischs zu übertreffen.

Great location in the heart of Stuttgart. Very attentive and friendly service, great selection of food and very good quality for the size of this restaurant. The prices are fair and the freshly tapped beer is a pleasure. An all-round successful evening in the center of Stuttgart!

Expensive fast food restaurant for tourists. The Asians next to us ordered their pork knuckles and they were put in front of us a minute after we ordered until we complained about the mistake. Our food came less than three minutes after we ordered and my schnitzel was with potato salad instead of fries as ordered. I complained and the waiter said he would be right back... and then ignored me for about 10 minutes. My colleague had already eaten when the waitress from whom I had originally ordered swapped the potato salad for fries and brought back the now barely lukewarm Wiener Schnitzel for 27.70 euros. Afterwards she apologized for the fact that the other waiter simply ignored my complaint and said that I had to specify this when ordering (which I did, but she probably hadn't heard), otherwise it would always be with potato salad. However, if both are listed on the menu, a waitress should ask if she missed which side dish the guest had ordered. We hadn't even finished drinking or given any signs of wanting to leave when our table was already claimed for an upcoming reservation. Shortly afterwards, after we had paid, we were finally asked to leave. One imagines a cozy visit to a restaurant for just under 70 euros for two people to be more comfortable. At every trucker's rest stop you are treated better and get roughly the same food.

The 1/2 knuckle we ordered was without salad or vegetables, the meat and the dumpling were lukewarm and could have used more seasoning, the sauce was cold. The three types of Maultaschen plate with potato salad were also lukewarm to cold, and the Maultaschen could have used more salt, the sauce was very thin. The side salad we ordered was unseasoned, without dressing or only a hint. The service was inattentive and forced to be friendly. Very strong transit business, mass rather than class.

It was nice, nice waiter, good food, although it would have been nice to know from the kitchen if something was changed in the order... As with the Swabian platter, you get schnitzel instead of pork fillet, but it's still very tasty and there's enough. I would go there again :)

It was the most delicious meal I had in Germany, Austria, etc. The skin is very hard, so be careful when cutting it, and be careful if your teeth are weak. The atmosphere feels like a medieval inn, allowing you to drink a refreshing beer.

We really enjoy being here and are generally satisfied. Unfortunately, despite ordering, we didn't get any food today. It was a Sunday and it was hectic, but this is gastronomy and I expect more.

Ristorante/birreria spaziosa e ben tenuta con arredi tutto legno in elegante palazzo con affaccio sulla piazza del castello. L’accoglienza è buona. Il servizio lo sarà altrettanto. Ottima scelta sulle birre tra le quali preferiamo la weiss. Il menù è ben articolato e spazia dalle specialità del territorio, alla griglia, ai primi, alle insalate, ecc. ecc. Noi vorremmo iniziare con stinco di maiale al forno ma ci comunicano che è esaurito… ahi ahi ahi Allora dirottiamo sull’arrosto di maiale: non fenomenale, ma fa la sua parte. Come dessert, gelato alla vaniglia con panna montata e frutti di bosco caldi a parte: buono. A fine cena un fatto singolare: la cameriera ci presenta il conto totale senza lo scontrino col dettaglio di quanto abbiamo ordinato. Certamente paghiamo quanto richiesto, ma il dubbio che ci sia qualcosa di poco chiaro resta…. Prenotazione fortemente consigliata.

I went there for dinner with my colleagues as it was a part of our work trip. I didn't see the menu as we already decided the options from suggestion. The soup was great. Schnitzel is good and comes with a large quantity. I tried a new dessert which contains milk, apple and I don't remember the name but it was something new kind of dessert for me. The ambience is very good there and a perfect place to go for large people group!

The best brewery in Stuttgart has been unbeaten for years. Reliably good quality, very tasty food, always fresh and warm. Very tasty house lemonade and salads. Particularly noteworthy is the always extremely friendly and reliable service and the friendly treatment of the guests. The weekly menu always has great dishes on offer, and the seasonal dishes are also very good.

We didn't expect this: in the middle of Stuttgart in a prime location, a pub with an extensive but really cheap menu. Furthermore, a very nice service: Our visit was spontaneous, the house was full and we were still given a seat because we were asked if we would sit at a table with another couple. So my recommendation for visitors to Stuttgart!

You can go here. The quality is fine; the portions are rather small. The atmosphere seems impersonal and there is a high level of noise from conversations. What's unpleasant is the toilet cash register and the fact that a reservation sign is placed in front of the bib - without asking how long you plan to stay and even though there are unoccupied tables.

I ordered a beef broth with Maultaschen. My expectations of the taste were met, but the broth and the Maultaschen shouldn't have been served lukewarm. Unfortunately the waiter was just annoyed and not attentive. A smile sometimes works wonders and increases the tip ;-)

Unfortunately, I can't recommend at all! There was a dead fly inside pulled pork burger. And it was really unpleasant experience for me. OK they tried to offer another dish but 'how hygienic are those dishes' is a question in my head. I would recommend to take simple dishes which you can see whats in it. 😕

I love Swabian cuisine and whenever we are in Stuttgart we go to Carl’s Brauhaus. It is always well attended. Very courteous and super nice service, nice cozy atmosphere, clear menu, but every menu comes in decent portions and tastes good too! Small requests for changes (e.g. different inserts) will be implemented without any hassle. Great value for money. The house beers are also very tasty! We'll definitely be back!

I was very dissatisfied with the service and cuisine. After visiting the establishment for the third time, I still haven’t been able to try the pork knuckle. The rest of the dishes are just ladies' food I cannot recommend this establishment.

A very good selection of food and drink at decent prices. Welcoming atmosphere. Efficient friendly service. My 2nd visit with a small school group of teenagers who were all very happy with their experience. You must book in advance as the place is popular.

Wir waren zu zweit an einem schönen Abend dort, haben knapp 200€ liegen lassen (für ein Brauhaus & zu zweit schon recht viel), Vesperplatte mit 3 Brotscheiben Recht überschaubar, was uns jedoch überhaupt NICHT gefallen hat. Wir lassen zu 2. gut 200€ liegen und die Restaurantleitung hält es noch NICHT einmal für nötig einen positiven Kundenservice zu bieten und als „Nettigkeit“ einen Kurzen aufs Haus zu bringen (was jede geile Besenwirtschaft einfach so machen würde) vor allem wenn man die ganze Zeit harmonisch zueinander war. Stattdessen diskutiert sie noch weshalb sie das nicht machen & die Krönung „Wenn der Kellner das selbst zahlen will“ und wir hatten 15€ Trinkgeld noch gegeben. Leute euer fu**** ernst? Das nennt ihr Kundenfreundlichkeit? Wortlos

There were two of us there on a lovely evening, we left just under €200 (quite a lot for a brewery and two people), a snack platter with three slices of bread was quite manageable, but we did NOT like it at all. We left a good €200 for the two of us € and the restaurant management does NOT even consider it necessary to bring a short on the house (which any hot broom restaurant would do). Instead, she discusses why they don't do that. People tend to be serious? You call that customer friendliness?

My girlfriend had the Wiener Schnitzel, quite expensive, but the taste was simply great! I can only recommend it, make your own impression!
