Caponniere Restaurant im egapark in Erfurt

We went to the Caponniere for dinner as a family. The food was excellent, the service friendly, and we caught the last rays of sunshine outside. A thoroughly enjoyable visit! Thank you very much.

Great atmosphere and a very good selection of food - which was unfortunately somewhat spoiled by the somewhat overwhelmed service staff who were very hard-working and friendly but who were unable to cope sufficiently with the onslaught of visitors.

The food was excellent and the service very good. We had dinner there and breakfast the next day.

We simply wanted to refresh ourselves with a beer around 5:00 PM after a visit to the EGA. When the waiter arrived, we heard "Nooooo" from a distance. We were told the kitchen was closed. Our request for two beers was also unsuccessful. This year's award winner for service! We've never experienced such disrespect for guests!

Unfortunately, the Caponiere is no longer a culinary institution. Opening hours aren't always reliable. The menu is simple and not particularly noteworthy.

The food and drinks were excellent. The service was courteous and attentive. Only the floor was quite dirty.

Three of us were there yesterday. After a few minutes, we were assigned a table. We were told to sit with four other people, even though two tables with four seats each were free. After us, there were seven people in line who were turned away?! After a 30-minute wait and repeated requests to order, an annoyed waitress came over. She gave her colleague a dirty look and simply said to us: "Not really, she's already worked a lot today." If it hadn't been so late, we would have gotten up right away. Twenty minutes passed without even our drinks arriving. The other four at the table, who ordered at the same time as us, then received their drinks and shortly thereafter their food. We asked what was happening to us, and the reply was whether we had even ordered. She went in and immediately came out with the drinks. Another 20 minutes later, the food arrived. The portion was very small, not particularly good, and quite expensive. Now we wanted to pay. We asked three times before the annoyed waitress came again, who addressed other guests because they had also repeatedly asked if they could order. We didn't tip for this, which, judging by her expression, caused surprise. The other guests then left, and some even left without paying because they were simply ignored. I've never experienced such poor service.

Excellent food, everything prepared with love. Super friendly service...I'd be happy to come back.

We booked this venue for a family celebration and, in consultation with Mr. Wölfl, coordinated the food and drinks in advance. From a champagne reception until late in the evening, the hospitality was excellent. The food, coffee, and cake, and dinner were more than sufficient and extremely tasty. The value for money was excellent, and there was nothing to complain about. Our guests even experienced the accidental fireworks display at the EGA with great surprise and delight. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Capponiere team and are already looking forward to the next "party."

The location and atmosphere are absolutely fantastic! 5 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately, the food couldn't keep up. My salad with turkey strips had a long black hair right on top. That can happen, of course, but it completely ruined my appetite, so I had to return it. The taste (my wife also had a mixed salad) was average at best. The espresso afterwards was also cold, unfortunately. All in all, a disappointment, as the atmosphere is really great.

This was our second attempt to eat or drink something at this establishment within six months. Unfortunately, again without success! The first time, in July of this year, the outdoor area was open in beautiful weather, but there was no service. The interior was only sporadically full. We asked if we could order a drink, pay for it, and take it outside. This request was denied with a harsh "no" without any explanation. We left empty-handed. On August 16, 2025, for the Festival of Lights, we visited this establishment again. Naturally, both the interior and exterior areas were well-filled. Two large tables outside were empty but reserved, a few tables along the sides weren't served (for whatever reason), two people were sitting at a few other tables, and there were some empty chairs. We asked two ladies if we could join them. They said yes, but told us we should ask the waiter first. The two of them probably already suspected something... We waited patiently for the waiter, who seemed extremely hectic and who had just before us turned away two other guests in an unfriendly manner. Finally, I managed to speak to him. I asked, "Could I ask him something?" I hadn't even finished my question when he said, loudly and clearly, "No," and walked briskly on. Dear Caponniere team, this was definitely my last attempt at dining with you. I have rarely encountered such unfriendliness and arrogance.

Unfortunately, the QR codes were only sent when our group (16 people) was at the entrance.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, the food was really not good. We all had the corn-fed chicken with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the chicken came cold, the broccoli was extremely hard, and the sauce was incredibly peppery. Apart from the lovely ambiance, I can't really recommend it.

We were very satisfied with everything and would love to come back!

First of all, the place is very nicely done, and that's my personal impression. Unfortunately, the service leaves a lot to be desired. We were here for lunch with seven people. As the staff noticed, we had three children with us, but only after asking for a children's menu were we given. To our astonishment, this was immediately taken away. Our order was placed quickly, and the drinks arrived quickly. But that was it; only after asking after more than 30 minutes where our food was did we realize we had been completely forgotten. Here, about 15 minutes later, four dishes were brought to our table. We waited in vain for the three missing dishes and had to point out the missing food again. Unfortunately, this also failed, as only two dishes arrived. We then declined the last one because everyone else had already finished eating, and besides, it wasn't that great. Unfortunately, the waiters were unwilling to accommodate us; on the contrary, they blamed us. In short, we will definitely not eat here again.

We went to the creative garden at Ega. On a day with fixed time slots, you don't want to wait an hour after ordering your meal. Especially not when it's simple dishes like aspic with fried potatoes and currywurst with fries, and the restaurant isn't even close to full. Only after asking the waitress did they take care of the food. Of the seven portions we ordered, only four portions arrived. Another 15 minutes later, we asked about the remaining three portions. Two portions were then brought. The last missing portion was completely forgotten, and we didn't ask for it again because everyone else had already finished eating. Unfortunately, the staff made little effort to find a quick solution or accommodate the problem, and generally, they paid us little attention. Even empty glasses were ignored. The children's menu, which was basically meant to be colored in, was taken away after we ordered. Unfortunately, not recommended for families with children on event days at Ega.

Food doesn't taste good and is too expensive.

Food is good but the working atmosphere is bad, which you notice as a customer.

We had reserved a table for my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary – a special occasion we wanted to celebrate in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, the reservation was forgotten. While we were offered drinks on the house as an apology, that was unfortunately (!) just the beginning of a whole series of disappointments. The Prosecco for toasting was flat and uncarbonated – apparently it had been open for some time. The ordered appetizers and main courses arrived together (?), but incomplete – the cream of asparagus soup was absolutely inedible, the hollandaise sauce came from a cardboard box, and my grandparents had ordered fish, but it never arrived with their main course. The three remaining main courses were forgotten and only arrived after contacting the staff again, and unfortunately, they weren't very tasty. For example: €15 for gnocchi from a bag with frozen peas. Maybe some people like to eat that kind of combo, but there was just nothing special about this. No love, no spices – NOTHING!! By this point, we were served. The staff was understanding and tried to make up for these mistakes... but unfortunately, I have to conclude that this experience was an absolute disaster! They waived part of the bill, but I still feel that this afternoon didn't live up to its purpose in any way. The restaurant may be fine for a chilled drink in the Caponniere beer garden. However, we can't recommend it at all for festive occasions—the disappointment was too great, especially if, like us, you rarely have the opportunity to celebrate outside due to mobility restrictions.

Friendly service and a nice outdoor table setting. We were able to take our time with our birthday lunch and were also given good advice in advance.

When we asked for a menu, the untrained waitress, with an Eastern European dialect, acknowledged this request with an annoyed roll of her eyes. Immediately got up and left. This is how you give away sales.

A wonderful place, under the trees, in front of the historic walls. The food was delicious, the service was quick and very friendly. And the fact that it's a Lebenshilfe campaign makes it even better - just great!

After a bit of back and forth about our seating, we had to wait a while to place our order. In general, the waitress seemed slightly annoyed and wasn't that friendly in my opinion. I ordered asparagus with hollandaise sauce and young potatoes. The asparagus and the sauce were delicious but the potatoes didn't work at all!!!! That had nothing to do with young potatoes, let alone freshness. The potatoes were definitely not fresh and tasted off. Also, my food was lukewarm. It's a shame and I paid €15 for it. I also told this to the waitress who cleared the plates and asked if everything was OK. At least she apologized, but in a professional restaurant you offer dissatisfied guests a little something to make up for it. Otherwise, the location is beautiful and invites you to linger, if of course the rest would have been fine.

I don't recommend it. We had to get the menu ourselves. Then we waited a long time until we could place our order. We then waited an hour for our food and it arrived cold. We didn’t even hear “sorry.” I don't recommend it

Great restaurant, great ambience. Very friendly and attentive service. The food is very tasty, plentiful and worth the money. It's a shame that it's a bit remote at the lower part of the citadel, so it's easily overlooked by many people. Tip to everyone, plan a visit there when you are in EGA Park, it is highly recommended.👍👍

Very nice restaurant to be found in Ega Park. People with disabilities run the store really well. Really great! Small menu but top quality, moderately rated stars. Hats off to the fact that people with disabilities can achieve something like that. Staff very friendly, good service, fast and not intrusive, you feel comfortable. Ambiance inside and out is super nice. Price performance is absolutely acceptable, anyone who complains here should rather go to the snack bar. Overall the restaurant is well maintained and clean. The disadvantage is the somewhat remote location on the Ega site and that you have to pay an entrance fee to the site to get to the restaurant. Maybe it is possible to go to the restaurant in another way, which you can certainly ask for. Otherwise I can't say anything negative except bon appetit.

Very nice restaurant with a beer garden. You sit comfortably in the green and you feel like you are in Tuscany. We ate spiced meat, which was really tasty. The service is great. It's hard to find such nice, hard-working and attentive employees anymore. Friendly welcome, nice conversations, fast and everything was really clean. Big praise to the two young men who really enjoy working and enjoy doing it. We would like to eat there more often, but the entrance fee for the Ega is too expensive.

Food is top. Unfortunately neither children's nor seniors' meals. Outdoor seating, simple garden furniture, toilets tiny and no storage space

Catastrophe! Ox cheeks with artificial sauce and ready-made dumplings. And everything for €24. The seasoned meat was okay. The service made an effort, but was completely overwhelmed. Never again.

It was very nice, quite empty and the friendly service was really great. I was really happy with her. The only stupid thing was that we ordered two hot chocolates, but unfortunately one was only lukewarm. We also paid the wrong price. They came with milk foam, we paid for cream. But it was fine and we didn't say anything.

We had a big birthday party upstairs in the Caponniere. From the first contact to the rehearsal dinner, fine-tuning and the party, we felt very competently advised and looked after. The buffet-style food, the super delicious cake from the Molsdorf Castle Confectionery, the very attentive and loving service, the responsiveness to our special requests, all of that was perfect and led us and our guests to a 5 star rating. Particularly noteworthy is Ms. Schartenberg, who was as friendly and attentive until the last minute as one could hardly imagine. We also used the Pulverhütte as a place to stay for our guests, very lovingly furnished rooms in the immediate vicinity and perfect for an overnight stay. The only bitter pill is the complicated ticket system with the different tariffs to get to the EGA as a guest of the Caponniere and the strict ban on entry for overnight guests between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. that the EGA stipulates. We were very happy to meet a friendly gatekeeper at the entrance to the farm, who took pity on our older guests with walking difficulties and allowed access as an exception. It will be the Lebenshilfe e. V., the operator of Pulverhütte and Caponniere, which has even set up a charging station for electric vehicles, has made marketing very difficult. It's a shame given this great location in this very special place in Erfurt. We will be back definitely.

We celebrated my birthday with a large number of people. We had a great time in the restaurant: the table was beautifully set for our lunch, the food was delicious and the service was very courteous and served us really well. We want to come back the next time we visit EGA to indulge in culinary delights!

Ich habe mich lange nicht so wohl in einem Lokal gefühlt. Menschen mit Beeinträchtigungen haben uns bedient - so herzlich, schnell und professionell. Unglaublich toll! Es wurden sogar weiße Handschuhe zum Verteilen von Besteck angezogen. Keine Ahnung wann ich einem anderen Lokal das letzte Mal ein fettfingerfreies Besteck bekommen habe. Außerdem wurde der Tisch nach den vorherigen Gästen sorgsam aufgeräumt und gereinigt. Auch das sieht man inzwischen äußerst selten. Da kann sich so manche Bedienung eine Scheibe abschneiden. Außerdem war das Essen lecker und hatte ein gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Und das Ambiente top! Also unbedingt zu empfehlen!!!

Nie wieder. Preis / Leistungsverhältnis im Außenbereich passt überhaupt nicht. Personal kann nicht auf kleinere Wünsche eingehen (unsere Kinder wollten gerne ein paar bunte Streusel auf ihre Waffel, da diese auch direkt hinter dem Tresen standen. Selbst mit dem Angebot extra zu zahlen gab es keinen Weg mit der Begründung das der Chef es verbietet).

Der Ort ist wunderschön. Das Essen ist auch richtig gut. Aber leider stimmt die Bedienung nicht. Den Servicemitarbeitern fehlt es an Freundlichkeit, Kundenorientierung und Wissen.

Wir bewerten den Verzehr im Außenbereich des Restaurants. Das Essen kam zwar schnell, war aber fast ungeniesbar. Mein Thüringer Rostbrätl war tot und hart gebraten, den komischen gelben Kartoffelsalat habe ich mal lieber nicht angerührt, der Salat dazu war Ok. Das gleiche Gericht bei meinem Mann war von gleicher schlechten Qualität, nur hatte er aus Hunger den Kartoffelsalat gegessen, das hat sich dann am Abend gerächt, der Magen und Darm hat es nicht gewollt. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich, aber das Essen war schrecklich, nie wieder.

Ich möchte mich ganz herzlich bei Frau Wagner und Frau Schartenberg bedanken. Wir hatten einen tollen Tag und wurden sooo nett bedient. Alle haben sich äußerst wohl gefühlt. Sehr freundlicher Service, gutes Essen zu einem vernünftigen Preis

Wir waren gestern zum Weinabend in der Caponniere auf der Ega Erfurt, und bedanken uns ganz herzlich für einen wunderschönen Abend. Das Essen war wie immer fantastisch (wir hatten Fisch und Käse) und die Bedienung sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Es gab außer dem Stammpersonal, großes Lob an Frau Silke, noch sehr kundige Beratung zur Weinauswahl. Nette Gespräche, leckeres Essen und guter Wein was will man mehr. Anschließend ein schöner Spaziergang durch den menschenleeren Park. Wir kommen wieder, unser nächster Termin steht schon fest.

Wir wollten nur etwas trinken und haben höflich gefragt ob ein Platz im Außenbereich frei ist. Die Bedienung reagierte unserer Meinung nach etwas genervt und frech und sagte im selbigen Ton: ich bin doch gleich bei Ihnen.

Die Service Dame vom 03.12 ist genial. Sehr zuvorkommend, organisiert und stets freundlich. Das Ambiente war sehr schön und entspannend. Danke für den guten Service.

Wir haben uns auf ein schönen vorweihnachtliche Brunch in Ihrem tollen Ambiente gefreut. Leider waren wir ( 10 nette Kolleginnen) über das Brunchangebot für diesen Preis (35 Euro) sehr enttäuscht. Leider nur abgepackte Wurst. Wo war der Salat. Bei der warmen Strecke hat die Liebe zum Detail gefehlt. Eine Getränkekarte auf dem Tisch wäre auch schön gewesen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett. Leider können wir so etwas nicht weiter empfehlen.

War ein sehr schöner Abend. Vielen Dank für den tollen Service und den tollen Speisen. Immer wieder gerne.

Personal ist nett aber das Essen war absolut enttäuschend. Da gibts wesentlich bessere Restaurants in Erfurt

Sehr freundlicher und schneller Service, Hauptgänge sehr lecker. Einen Punkt Abzug für das Dessert. Das "Halbgefrorene" war leider so stark geeist, dass es mit dem Dessertbesteck zunächst nicht teilbar und somit auch nicht direkt essbar war.

Super Service, super freundlich, den ganzen langen Abend. Das Buffet war toll, besonders das Salatbuffet.

Unser Lieblingslokal auf der Ega....einfach schön da, bei jedem Wetter

Hier kann man lecker essen und trinken unter Sonnenschirmen und Bäumen im ega Park. Die Roulade mit Klößen und Rotkraut hat toll geschmeckt.

Die Caponniere liegt im Egapark Erfurt und ist zu Fuß oder mit dem kleinen Park-Express zu erreichen. Betreiber ist mit großem Engagement die Lebenshilfe.

Absolutes Desaster. Als Familie mit kleinen Kindern Mittagessen bestellt, nach einer Stunde nachgefragt, ob es noch kommt - Antwort der unmotivierten Kellnerin "Na zehn Minuten dauerts schon noch!", nach weiteren 15 min haben wir das Geld für unsere Getränke auf den Tisch gelegt und die Veranstaltung hungrig verlassen. Miserabel. Vielleicht wäre es lecker gewesen, wir werden es nicht erneut probieren

Sehr schön angerichtet Essen, beim Geschmack ist aber noch deutlich Luft nach oben. Auch in Punkto Freundlichkeit kann manche Mitarbeiterin noch zulegen. Am Nachbartisch wurden die Gäste von der männlichen Bedienung wesentlich freundlicher und höflicher behandelt.

Nette Atmosphäre. Das war's dann aber auch schon. Die Suppe schmeckt mäßig lecker. Außerdem gibt es neben dem reichhaltigen Angebot an Fleisch- und Fischgerichten nur eine vegetarische Option: Nudeln mit Pesto. Diese werden dann auch noch kalt und alles andere als al dente serviert. Sehr enttäuschendes Gesamterlebnis. :( Von einem so schicken Parkrestaurant mit teuren Preisen ist definitiv mehr zu erwarten!

Wir haben im Juli unsere Hochzeit hier gefeiert. Es war eine rundum gelungene Feier in einem wunderschönen modernen Ambiente. Es wurde alles sehr professionell vorbereitet, das Team rund um Herrn Vollrath ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und das Essen war sehr gut.

Schöne Atmosphäre, Leckeres Essen und nette Bedienung. Nur leider telefonisch nicht zu erreichen, Reservierung sind nur online möglich, so kann man leider auch nicht Bescheid sagen wenn man sich verspätet.

Wir hätten ja gerne etwas gegessen. Aber dass in der Hauptferienzeit geschlossen ist, kann ich nicht nachvollziehen.

Ganz tolles Restaurant mit überaus netten und freundlichen Mitarbeitern. Hier gibt man sich noch sehr viel Mühe, um den Restaurantbesuch zu einem Erlebnis werden zu lassen. Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend und ist sehr liebevoll angerichtet. Es ist einfach nur toll!! Die Getränke kamen sehr schnell. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an sehr schmackhaften regionalen und überregionalen Weinen. Wir haben in der Pulverhütte übernachtet und durften dann zum Frühstück wieder ins Caponniere. Auch das Frühstück wurde sehr liebevoll angerichtet. Es gab alles, was man zu einem guten Frühstück braucht. Auch diese Leistung war ganz toll. Einen Besuch im Caponniere kann ich wirklich nur empfehlen!!

die schönste Idylle der EGA mit freundlichem Service und sehr guten Speisen

Man muss schon am Geschmack der Gäste mit den guten Bewertungen zweifeln. Die 3 Sterne gibt es für den freundlichen Service, fürs Essen gibt es keinen! Das Würzfleisch war so fettig, haben die Hälfte übrig gelassen. Die Tagliatelle mit Tomatensauce haben im Wasser geschwommen und es war soviel Käse drauf, das man es auch Gratin hätte nennen können. Der Salat mit dem Hähnchen ist einfach nur überteuert. Auch die sc. Hollandaise war geschmacklich ganz unten, wie auch der Kartoffelauflauf. Ein Koch sollte schon mit Salz und Pfeffer umgehen können...
