Uniquely beautiful – a true gem in Würzburg! The Boutique Hotel Canel is simply a dreamy place to arrive and feel at home. Every room is furnished with such attention to detail – small, special touches create a wonderful ambiance and make your stay truly special. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive – you feel welcome from the very first moment. As is typical in Würzburg, parking is somewhat limited, but this is easily managed and doesn't detract from the overall impression. For me, it was an absolutely wonderful experience – this hotel is a place I would gladly return to anytime. A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates style, warmth, and a special atmosphere!

I stayed at the CANEL Hotel Boutique in Würzburg (Bavaria) for two days and was unfortunately not satisfied with the cleanliness. The room was small and not thoroughly cleaned, especially the shower and sink. I hope the hotel improves its cleaning in the future.

Really great service, super friendly owner!

The room (No. 211) was very small, offered no space for a suitcase, and had only a narrow window facing the courtyard with a limited view. The air conditioning didn't work, making it impossible to cool the room, which was 25 degrees Celsius. The bathroom (approx. 4m²) was clean, but the mirror and sink were only partially usable. The shower fittings were wobbly and heavily calcified. The wardrobe didn't open fully, and the mirror on the wardrobe door was awkwardly positioned. At €300 per night without breakfast, the value for money doesn't match the amenities. Due to these shortcomings, we will not book the hotel again.

Nice and clean. However internet does not work. No English TV (bbc news). Not Netflix and even YouTube both installed on TV but does not connect on the TV. And airco also seems to not work

We chose this hotel for our stopover, but were a bit disappointed. Despite the hotel being almost empty, we were given what was probably the noisiest room in the building. It's nicely located in a corner, so the noise from the (busy) street can also be heard. Closing the windows and turning on the air conditioning didn't help either, as it made even more noise.

A very nice boutique hotel with a great atmosphere. We had a quiet room at the back and felt very comfortable there. The staff was extremely helpful – thank you very much! One small drawback is the air conditioning, which unfortunately couldn't be easily turned on and off, but only via a smart touch panel. Breakfast costs €19 per person, but includes freshly prepared egg dishes such as omelets and scrambled eggs, which is very pleasant. The location is excellent. There is currently a construction site right in front of the hotel, but we couldn't hear any of it in our room.

Room 111 had twin beds positioned at an angle. Not stylish. The window overlooked an ugly inner courtyard. Air conditioning was available, but the light/air conditioning controls were difficult to understand, even for those with a technical background. A tiny sink. The central location and the friendly receptionist were the positive aspects, but the room was not. Relatively expensive.

My experience in this hotel beginning of May was really sad. At first it looked all nice - then I found a lot of hair around the room. I went to the reception to have the room changed - she instantly gave me a new one (so far so good). In 2nd one the same game - again hair everywhere. The nice lady was very sorry and said that there was a new cleaning team. So I went for the third room in this hotel. The room seemed fine for 20min until she came back and told me I need to change again, because this room would be an upgrade to the others (it was like 1qm more) so they want me to change. After this odyssey again? Holy moly.. I packed all my stuff and went into the 4th room. The room was again not the cleanest, but I had no time anymore and was out of power. Then I asked the lady if she would have an iron for me to iron my shirts. She said she would give me one within 2h and I said, that this would be very important. She said she would get it. As you may expect, there was no Iron after that. There was a very angry owner who wanted to kick me out of the hotel because for sure I was very frustrated with the situation after this time and he said I could not expect an iron in a (boutique) Hotel?? Also all the furniture was pretty much scratched all over in all the rooms I wittnessed. Other than that the location is very nice and the ideas in the room design were great.

Modern hotel in a very good location. The room was perfectly fine for a city trip; we even had a bathroom with a window. Service was very friendly. Breakfast was sufficient and appealing, with egg dishes prepared fresh upon request. Perhaps a few minor complaints here and there, but nothing particularly noteworthy. Plenty of parking is available nearby.

Zero goodwill. Unfortunately, we were unable to arrive due to a death. I understand that the room (1 night) is non-refundable, but I would have liked to have at least been able to change the date...

Stayed at the CANEL during a company outing. Beautiful hotel; stylishly furnished. Rooms were modern and clean. Owner and staff were friendly. I highly recommend the hotel and breakfast.

We were there for a company outing. It was indescribably beautiful. Clean, friendly, modern, and delicious. The breakfast included incredibly delicious bread. I've been recommending the Hotel Canel for days and will definitely stay there again.

The food was good, sometimes excellent, sometimes okay. We often had to wait. The atmosphere is highly recommended, one of the nicest in Würzburg!

Hotel is clean and staff friendly. Breakfast only possible from 7:00 a.m. No parking facility. Rooms are small but modernly furnished.

The room is very small and awkwardly designed. Small sink, no space for suitcases. For the price it's not worth it for me. Don't book here anymore. The location of the hotel is also not good, far from good restaurants, shops etc. Service is friendly :)

I didn't stay in the hotel, I just had dinner. So I can't rate the room, only the restaurant. This is beautifully decorated and very inviting. There is a small, changing weekly menu with a selection of dishes. The service was tried hard, but completely overwhelmed. The gentleman should perhaps move into a different area, but not in restaurant service. No advice, no empathy whatsoever with the completely overwhelmed person. The dishes as such sound good. However, the quality is not special. I had tuna, which was cooked properly upon request, which was praise but the rest was terrible. I wanted pasta as a side dish instead of potatoes. This means you save the potatoes and simply add noodles. It's possible but costs seven euros extra. I don't understand the lake and I think that's rude. Because tuna was completely unseasoned. The noodles were tossed in butter and only tasted like butter, but not even seasoned. The service was inattentive, but we had to wait a really long time for drinks to arrive, even though there were only three tables occupied at the time. Even when we wanted to pay, we were completely overwhelmed by what was happening and had to ask several times that we could pay. The prices are excessive for the quality and I certainly won't go to this restaurant again. Only the location is nice and also the furnishings but that's it.

My three-day stay at the hotel in the center of Würzburg was simply fantastic! The hotel impressed me with its modern design, first-class facilities and friendly staff. My room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired and offered a large selection of delicious dishes. The hotel's central location allowed me to explore the city's sights easily on foot. I highly recommend this hotel and am looking forward to my next stay!"

High standards, little substance. The reaction to a 5.0 rating on booking is profound. With 130 hotel nights a year, I've seen a lot, but I've never experienced a reaction like this. Unfortunately I can't tell you the story about the drinks 😂. Not for business travelers suitable.

We spent two days in Würzburg and can highly recommend the hotel including breakfast. The owner is super nice and the hotel is very nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the stay with our child (2 years).

Rooms facing the street are very noisy if you want to sleep with the window open. But the highlight was that when we checked in we were asked if we would like to book breakfast and when we asked when we could have breakfast, it said from 7:00 a.m. Since we had to leave at 8:00 a.m. the next day, we booked it for three people for a total of €59 and paid straight away. The next morning, however, we discovered that breakfast on weekends doesn't start until 8:00 a.m. and the reception wasn't staffed either. So we wrote to the hotel and asked for a refund of €59 because we couldn't have breakfast due to incorrect information. Twice we were assured in writing that we would get our money back, and when we received nothing, the third time we were told that we would not be reimbursed! They pointed out some pieces of paper that were hanging somewhere in the hotel that said that breakfast on weekends wasn't until 8:00 a.m., they acknowledged the mistake when checking in and apologized, but that was it! Does this hotel have financial problems, or why, admitting a mistake, they don't refund the money, very questionable? We will never visit this hotel again. Service is not a priority here.

A wonderful hotel, with a warm host, “run by owner”. The food was very tasty… fresh… cooked to perfection. We can only recommend it and when we are in Würzburg we will only stay and eat here!!

I can't understand the negative reviews. I was more than thrilled with the hotel. Newly renovated, clean, great service and always friendly. The only thing I would like to note is that the shower is a bit slippery when wet. I would love to come back and can only recommend it! Thank you for the lovely stay

Klasse hotel, sehr zentrale Lage in Würzburg. Die Zimmer sind alle neu und sehr schick und schön eingerichtet. Sehr sauber alles. Die Dusche und das Bade ist auch klasse. Im Bett lässt es sich auch gut schlafen. Der Fernseher funktioniert auch. Das einzige Manko ist wenn man sein Zimmer auf der Straßenseite hat, hört man ein bisschen den Verkehr. Aber schlafen kann man trotzdem, die Fenster sind relativ dicht. Mit offenem Fenster zu schlafen kann ich mir nicht vorstellen. Das Frühstück habe ich nicht wahrgenommen, aber ganz ehrlich, 19 Euro finde ich schon heftig. Aber kann darüber nichts sagen. Trotz teurem Frühstück eine klare weiterempfehlung dieses hotels.
