Cancún in Berlin

Nice waiters, good cocktails, ok ambience, but the toilets... really bad. Rarely seen anything so dirty.

A huge restaurant. The food was ok. Unfortunately the atmosphere was less, normal entertainment was hardly possible. Noisy and crowded, we felt like we were in a canteen.

Not recommended! Staff was very friendly upon arrival. Food was served quickly. the food was fine, but not very special. When paying, the staff immediately added a 10% tip without consultation. If you indicate here that you do not want this, the atmosphere immediately changes. Staff became pushy, antisocial and annoyed because you don't want to tip. Definitely not recommended.

Good spot to eat fast, almost Mexican - overall not authentic cuisine but still tasty and fresh. Small trap: the lunch offer only applies to 3 dishes.

Was there on Saturday at 5 p.m. there was hardly anything going on but still had to wait 10-15 minutes until a waiter came with cards. 1 waiter completely drunk!!! The other nonsense... When you want to order, the waiter runs away. Drinks were great. We then took it easy with the food order after countless times the waiters just walked back and forth haphazardly and then insulted each other in front of guests. Service is completely wrong, there is no planning in the system as to who is serving which tables, so there is no idea who had which order...

The food looked so unappetizing that I didn't even want to try it, the nachos were cold. The burger was fried to death. We'll never go there again. And the waitress didn't even speak German 😞 and I didn't speak English. We'd have to request a ticket, even though we were assigned a place, and would then be ignored

Tables were sticky. They were only wiped off when asked. The service wasn't up to par either. Only half of the drinks we ordered were brought. The restaurant has slacked off a lot.

Food was okay, nothing to complain about. unfortunately we had to three!! Ask for a clean fork, the plates were greasy on the bottom and the table in front of us hadn't been wiped down. service was also rather poor. It's right on Alex, and therefore crowded and stressed. Drink (Purple Amigo) was good, just not priced at all for soda with a bit of syrup According to friends, things were also better.

Good drinks and the staf is really good

I arrived there really hungry and I wasn't disappointed at all with the food. It tasted really delicious. The drink I had was really nice too. The only negative would be the food took a little time but apart from that , the experience was nice.

Finding good food at Alex late at night is actually surprising. There is no shortage of seats in this large restaurant. The service is attentive and friendly. Ambience perfectly fine.

Mass processing with cold food and long waiting times... the one star is just for the service at the table

Our visit (4 people) to Cacuun was mixed. First of all, I praise the service for what initially appeared to be an effort to meet our wishes, which ended up being disorganized over the course of the evening, something we don't know from this restaurant. The food was ok but won't ensure we visit this establishment again. If you are looking for a quiet place to dine and have fun at the same time, you should avoid this restaurant.

I ordered the brunch, which is only offered on Sundays. There was everything for breakfast. From pastries to hot soups.

Unfortunately not recommended under stress like at the Festival of Light. Not only did we have to wait almost an hour for a few drinks, the Moscow Mule doesn't deserve the name, it was just cucumber water with alcohol in the glass. But instead of simply canceling the drink, there is discussion that this wouldn't work, we could get something else. But it didn't matter that we didn't feel like it anymore and just wanted to pay to be able to go again, so we still had to pay for the cucumber water. The impudence is that there is an argument with the guest about the quality of the drink! Moscow Mule in a copper mug? Let's not do it! Absolutely cheeky and particularly incomprehensible why it is not possible to remove a drink from the bill and, in my opinion, intentional tourist rubbish. They'll never come back anyway, right? Well my dears, we live in Berlin, but you won't be seeing us again anytime soon and there won't be any recommendations for you either. There are enough restaurants in Berlin that can deal fairly and flexibly with customer feedback.

A bit chaotic and music sometimes too loud.

⭐️ 1 star “Cancun” – sounds like sun, beach and delicious Mexican food? Well, I guess! The name promises holiday feelings, but what we got here was more like culinary jet lag. The waitress greeted us with the warmth of a tax inspector and immediately made us feel: “You’re bothering us.” Drinks? After 30 minutes it was no longer clear to us whether we were really thirsty or had simply been forgotten. 70 minutes later the food arrived... and we wished it had been lost. I had a “burger” with fries (mind you, only the name was American, the rest was more from the school lunch menu) and a spoonful of chili con carne that tasted more like mercy than chili. My friend had a baked potato - dry as the Cancun desert, with a salad that had probably seen better days... maybe in the 90s? The fries? They must have been fried about three times and had the consistency of old shoe soles. A handful of ketchup? Not even after asking. But there was a handful of fries - and unfortunately that was more than enough. Bottom line: If you've ever felt like a restaurant would rather get rid of you than serve you a good meal, congratulations, you'll feel right at home in Cancun. Goodbye? Rather not

Unfortunately the service was completely overwhelmed or non-existent. We had reserved and after the third time saying that we had reserved, we got a table. When we arrived we were allowed to order and show up after 30 minutes. The drinks took another 30 minutes and we had to ask. After about 2 hours the food came, unfortunately not all together, but almost 10 minutes apart. In addition, although they had brought us food, there was no cutlery left. We asked several waiters about it, but unfortunately it took a long time until we all had cutlery and, well, could eat the good food. We were never asked if we wanted something more to drink. At some point we just held up the card and hoped that a waiter would have mercy. When we got the bill we expressed our dissatisfaction and asked for a discount, but we only got 6 strawberry shots on the house for a bill of just under €200. Definitely an experience, unfortunately it took away our time from the Festival Of Lights.

The worst culinary experience of my life. Terrible service and mediocre food. Price well above the quality offered. And music almost as loud as in a nightclub; impossible to talk. We arrived on a Saturday at 9:30 p.m., they gave us a table and took our order. It took them 45 minutes to bring us the drinks and another hour to bring the food. The waiter, seeing our discontent, came over a couple of times to apologize and promise us that we would have the dishes in two minutes. But the food did not arrive. When we were leaving in despair, the food arrived, which did not match what was on the menu. I ordered a "Cancún Salat", with grilled chicken, avocado and exotic fruits. They brought me a plate of iceberg lettuce with half a tomato, three slices of cucumber, several strips of reheated dried chicken, and a spoonful of guacamole. No trace of exotic fruits or avocado. The waiter came over to offer us a 10% discount. The bill amounted to €49 for that salad, a plate of macaroni and two cocktails that barely had alcohol. We were late for an event because of the delay. So between the discussion and the rush, we ended up paying more because in the end, when paying with the card, they did not apply the discount that appeared on the ticket. In short: a disastrous experience in a restaurant to which I do not plan to return.

I'll skip this place next time. Food was semi-ok, not bad, not delicious either but relatively expensive compared to the quality. Atmosphere was hectic and noisy caused by the stuff - lot of fuzz but very little was actually happening or delivered. Lot of waiting experienced - first to get food order in then with the check, which was requested three times. Forks and knifes I had to find myself as these were not delivered with the portions and stuff was not available to bring them. I didn't hear "enjoy your meal", "thank you" or anything that woud be basic compliments in restaurant business. Tips are something to earn, not paid by poor performance.

I have already visited several Cancun bars in Berlin and there was nothing wrong with the food. The service is completely overwhelmed and complains to each other in front of the guests. Don't know which order goes to which table. A waiter would be better suited as a clown than a waiter, his humor is very borderline. Unfortunately, this Cancun will not see us again.

No recommendation! Loud and crowded! Ordered a table at 7:00 p.m., the food came at 8:15 p.m.!!! Waited over an hour for the food. The food was lukewarm and not tasty. Carelessly slapped onto the plate. And really expensive. The staff was absolutely overwhelmed and ran around completely mindless. There were many complaints from guests. The toilets are broken and dirty. I'll never go there again.

Looking for a cocktail bar this evening we found Cancún. The restaurant is large and nicely decorated inside. We ordered 4 cocktails and all were delicious. The price of the card is also completely reasonable. So far everything is good. Unfortunately the service somewhat disrupted our lovely evening here. When we went to pay, the tip apparently wasn't enough for the waitress. She was supposed to give us €2 back but claimed she had no change left. That's why we said we wouldn't pay in cash, but with an EC card. She added 20 cents to it (for whatever reason) and quickly left without saying goodbye. Such behavior is embarrassing and not professional at all. It's a real shame because it was our first time here and we probably won't come back.

Horrible service, just added tips to the bill of everyone in the group and rounded up the total! Food was also bad!

We wanted to have dinner there with a child. The staff was totally overwhelmed. Order was only taken after half an hour. Drinks arrived after an hour and we had to wait another hour for our food order. We then paid for the drinks and had the meal canceled. I have never experienced service like this anywhere. This is unbecoming of a restaurant right in the center of the capital.

Huge restaurant, mainly Mexican food, furnishings match the offerings. Price-performance ratio was optimal, plates were full, taste was great, menu had a huge selection, staff were very nice and accommodating, sometimes a bit too loud and too hectic, highly recommended.

The worst experience ever!!! waited 40plus min to just to take the order. The waiters or thier managers dont care about the customers. Simply kills the whole mood. Never going back again. The food was okay, and we found many hairs in it. Was already pissed off, so left without a scene. Giving one star for the food

We visited during the festival of lights on Saturday evening with two adults and two children. We were welcomed by a hostess and told it is busy and to expect an hour wait. That was no problem as we were warned. However, we did not expect to be ignored for 30+ minutes and not even being able to order drinks. We still don't know what our waitress looked liked as we only got a glimpse and another waiter was not willing to serve us. Having worked myself in hospitality for 20 years, we know it's a darn hard job. But when you saw the chaos but a staff member sipping espresso on the bar whilst the floor was on fire made us leave. So did some other guests, too. To the management, get the team to work as a team as this seemed to be the missing piece that night and I felt sorry for our unknown waitress who seemed to be new and could have done with some support. Would try again but only on off times as the menu seemed good and exactly what we wanted.

We had Burrito de Carne and the Bistec natural con Queso 200gr. The burrito was well filled and the accompanying salad was fresh and crunchy. The Bistec was OK but not necessarily a hit. The potato rösties (5 pieces) were frozen from the pack 🤨 Salad was fresh and delicious. Service was nice and friendly, relatively quick. Prices are OK for the location (near Alexanderplatz). However, the Bistec (skirt steak gratinated with cheese) could be of better quality for the price. The toilets could also be inspected and cleaned from time to time. The location is very spacious inside and loud and intensive due to the high ceilings. Comfortable is something else.

The food and ambience is good but it's pricy as that that was just normal menu

Not a great experience overall. The service was extremely slow, and it felt like the staff was inattentive. Unfortunately, the drinks were disappointing as well. On the upside, the prices are reasonable, but given the long wait and lackluster quality, it wasn’t enough to redeem the experience.

We have been to Cancun several times. Unfortunately, things are getting worse and worse. The waitresses don't seem to have a plan as to who will serve where, they all act very busy, but they can't get anything done. We were told that the kitchen was overloaded but that drinks would come quickly. So we only ordered cocktails. After 30 minutes we asked, after 45 minutes they finally came. Unfortunately the cocktails consisted of more crushice and sugar than anything else. Not good quality for the fairly high price. It's a shame, it used to be really good and has now deteriorated considerably. Furthermore, the toilets should be overhauled and cleaned regularly. Beautiful is different.

We waited outside for over 30 minutes for our cocktails and only got them after several requests. The taste was really delicious. But waiting so long while others (who arrived after us) were already paying and paying is simply not possible. It's a shame actually.

Next to the communications tower. It has a comfortable terrace. They make decent Irish coffee ☕.

Had dinner there with my girlfriend. The next day she had all the symptoms of food poisoning and so did I the day after. I can't recommend it!

When we entered the restaurant we were immediately offered tables (Sunday 5 p.m.) Orders were taken quickly, drinks came quickly + nice and cold (beer + soft drinks), food took a little longer (it still has to be prepared) and was very good for all 4 good. The cellar was extremely friendly! Restaurant is huge, lots of seating, including outside. The only point of criticism is the toilets. There were a lot of them but the smell was borderline and many were clogged. Yes, it is a tourist area, but you should still pay more attention to the cleanliness of these places.

Actually it deserves -5 stars, never ever again!!! -> Aggressive and rude staff (!) There were three of us and after 15 minutes we placed our order, 3 cocktails (!) After another 15 minutes the waitress came and asked why we hadn't received anything yet? After 50 minutes of waiting WITHOUT getting the drinks, we wanted to leave. 3 waitresses came up to us, didn't want to let us go and physically harassed us, shouted at us and threatened to call the police (!) We didn't get anything, so we didn't pay anything? as well as? NEVER AGAIN!

Ordered 3 cocktails, after waiting almost an hour without drinks, decided to leave the shop. We were then asked and literally harassed by 3 waiters to pay for the drinks - of course we didn't pay for them! In my opinion, service was absolutely overwhelmed. Definitely not recommended!

I'm not a tourist, this restaurant is lucky that Berlin has so much tourism!!! Such absolute chaos among the staff, original tone from a waiter: "I've had enough here, I'm getting off work, it's no fun here" and you also have to wait 1 1/2 hours for your 'just starter'. You were briefly informed that it would take a little longer, but after 2 hours you would have eaten. The cocktails: the first was good, the second not the same, although ordered and asked for, returned, the same wrong one comes back to the table. We were glad that there were drinks at the table at all. What a…..store!!!!! Terrible!!!! Nobody needs it! A little structured work would be half the battle! But something like that just doesn't work! What a shame!

We ate in Cancun on Alex for the first time. It also tasted good so far. I found it bad that the service didn't speak German, only English. Since my English is poor, we had problems communicating.

Actually, I can only think of one word for this store. Disaster!!! Service was non-existent. More like a startled bunch of chickens. The waiter couldn't communicate in English or German. Since we still didn't get any food after more than an hour after ordering, we left. No excuse, nothing! Please don't go there. My recommendation!

I had dinner there yesterday (nachos with chicken, cheese, etc) and I feel so bad (stomach/intestinal) and so does a friend who ate the same thing! I won't go and check your groceries again!!!

We sat outside to enjoy the September sunshine with a glass of wine. After about 10 minutes we were able to place an order. We ordered 2 glasses of white wine. 15 minutes later another waitress came and wanted to take another order. We explained that we had already done this and what we had ordered. After another 10 minutes, waiter #1 came back to our table and explained that there was a problem with communication in the kitchen and the wine was now on its way. Guests who came after us and had ordered now paid and left the restaurant. 15 minutes later we decided to leave. Waiter number 2 ran after us and shouted that the wine was really on its way and would be here soon. We didn't turn back. Therefore we can only rate the “service” here.

The food is okay depending on what you order, I would stay away from the spare ribs, the meat was relatively tough and the bone couldn't be separated from the meat The quesedias and burritos were relatively well seasoned and tasty.. Unfortunately, the service was terrible, which is why I won't come here again. There weren't many tables occupied and the staff was already overwhelmed by that bit. The ambience was "destroyed" by the waiters placing empty glasses and plates on unused tables and leaving them there for several minutes. In my opinion, absolutely not recommended

Our reservation was not known in Cancun despite the online booking confirmation. Nevertheless we got a table. After 20 minutes of waiting for the menu we left. There was no response to various contacts in the sense of eye contact and politely pointing out that we had not yet received a menu. Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars.

Best Mexican restaurant I know. Great atmosphere whether inside or outside. Super nice and fast service. You really don't have to wait long. And no matter whether it was food or drink, everything tasted excellent. Gladly again!

Located directly on Alexanderplatz. Employees are always trying hard. Overall, a cocktail bar where you're more likely to drink a beer from the bottle than a fancy cocktail. I don't live in Berlin - if I were to be in Berlin again, I wouldn't put this cocktail bar on my must-see list.

Samir was very attentive and accommodating. I rarely see such a competent person in service today and I would like to thank him very much, even at his age. Hats off !

Food was really good & so hot when it came & delicious. Unfortunately the staff where too busy chatting to each other. Customers left neglected, I eventually got a waiters attention to get the bill & he goes off to take someone's order leaving us waiting again for the bill? Got his full attention when we were paying of course. The place was quiet, very few customers, some music would have been good. Oh yes while eating we had to stop so the waitress could light the lamp ? Would I go back no.

Quite large and otherwise typical Cancun. Food was very tasty and came very quickly.

We had a nice meal but it went downhill when we came to pay, we are not big on tipping but we left a tip. The waiter tried to add a tip to my card after we left a 5 euro tip. The waiter tried to bully us to pay more tip we insisted we had paid enough. If they want to enforce a tip then add a service charge. I will not be coming back here, I would not recommend this place as the waiter was rude.

Very good food and good service. Great atmosphere and very good for spending time outside. Drinks are also delicious.

Went here just to have a cocktail. It was very crowded, so it took forever. Drinks were okay in terms of taste and price. Unfortunately, the staff is sometimes unreasonable. Communication was sometimes with hands and feet. This simply doesn't have to be the case, the staff should at least understand the things on the menu. I can't say anything about the food.

The service was offensive. The waiter was very rude, he shoved the food plate in my face when he brought it instead of putting it on the table... also was behaving strange towards me and my friend... it was a very unpleasant dinner.

It’s very unfortunate as their service was well below par. The waiters were inattentive and far too busy gossiping amongst themselves with little to no focus on their customers. The little food we had followed by drinks was average at best.

I was there to eat with my mom and we were brought in straight away by the waiter. After that he apparently forgot about us. Other waiters who walked by weren't helpful at all, and we had to ask several times for a waiter to order, even though it wasn't full. When we wanted the bill, they also took a long time to even be able to help us or answer us. After a while, a waiter called me from the ENTRANCE (like we were friends or something) so I could pay. He then raised our bill from €37 to €40 without me offering it, which I just found disgraceful. We wanted to give a tip anyway, but I just thought that was rude. He could have gotten more, but if you act like that, you'll never get anything better in life. I work in the catering industry myself and would never take a guest's money just like that. The quality of the food wasn't impressive either. You could find tastier for cheaper. Never again.

There was one Bangladeshi waiter who is very rude and doesn't want to provide bills. He takes cash and keeps in his own pocket... Such people should be kicked out.... Cacun must improve service by keeping good people.

Ordered a taco. Shell was not hard but soft. Besides that it was tasty. Well filled. Beautiful location and building inside.

Prices are average. We went to Iji at night during our stay in Berlin. One of the reasons we chose it was that it was open until 2 am. Many places in Berlin close earlier. We liked that there was music. Mexican soup was filling and really delicious on its own. We also liked the grill section very much, the portions are large and very filling. While we were celebrating my daughter's birthday among ourselves, the waiters immediately noticed and offered drinks. It was very nice that they were sensitive in this sense. The waiters give detailed information about the ingredients of the dishes. They have some expectations about tips :) In general, it was a place where I was satisfied and enjoyed. There is a lot of variety and the cocktails are very successful. There is a slight delay in service.
