Cancún in Berlin

After we found a table and downloaded the menu via QR code, we chose what we wanted. Then the server came and presented us with the New Year's Eve menu. It was the same menu, but everything was significantly more expensive! Why? It was lunchtime.

The food was delicious. Prices were also okay. The napkins and the toilet had the same rotten smell. That's completely unacceptable!

It would be a 10-star experience. The only downside, and it's a serious one, is that the toilets looked absolutely awful. Worse than a school toilet.

Amazing food and great service, always friendly and fun. Fast service. I will definitely come back! 🤗

Be very careful, they scam you on the tip; if you don't check, they'll give you a €10 tip, it's shameful!

They dont know to cook in this restaurant.Mexican food isnt like this.It was all precooked from the pack and many ingredientes that dont come with mexican food.It tastes more like indian food.Too expensive for what it offers.

I had a very bad experience today at the Cancun restaurant at Alexanderplatz. A waiter yelled at me because I accidentally ordered two drinks. I wanted to explain why this mistake happened and started my sentence with "I thought." The waiter yelled at me, "No, I thought, nothing to do with 'I thought,'" where am I? A complete stranger yelling at me. I was just trying to explain, but that doesn't mean I didn't want to pay for the drinks. There are always problems with this man; last year, I had a similar issue with a colleague of mine. He lacks respect, and I hope there are consequences. I also gathered from the comments that he's known for his rudeness. He completely ruined my mood. How can someone speak to strangers so disgustingly? I didn't do anything wrong and was simply trying to explain. What an outrage! The manager was also there and was incredibly kind and accommodating, but I simply cannot tolerate such behavior. The man was somewhat shorter and darker, possibly of Indian origin. Somewhat older.

I did not enjoy this place at all! The restaurant is big and whilst we were there it wasn't even at 5% capacity i'd say. We waited a long time for our food which at the beginning wasn't a problem as we just wanted to relax for a bit, but then we were waiting for about an hour in the end. When the food arrived it was average at best, which was a shame as the reviews were quite favourable. We ordered the sharing plate to start, my wife had the red fish and rice(which she enjoyed) , though to me it looked sloppy, and I had vegetarian quesadillas which had some oily fried vegetables and cheesey sauce/substance inside, we also ordered a side of batatas/patatas which tasted like crunchy, hollow and burnt potato wedges. The "Salsa" just tastes and looks like watery tomato ketchup with a slight tobasco taste to it, the guacamole was just rank and the sour cream was ok. And its all over priced, my veg quesadillas for example were 17.96€! The thing that bothered me the most was that once the starter arrived, it arrived with the rest of our order, so we had all our food on the table at the same time. Didn't enjoy this experience and will never come again. Thank you

We absolutely loved everything we ate! The portions were very generous and the service was top-notch! With an excellent location, what more could you ask for in Berlin! We were there for a week and went twice! Highly recommended for the area!

Delicious food, No. 58. Perfectly cooked beef. Excellent service. The only downsides are that the restroom needs renovation and something needs to be done about the smells.

Very expensive, even the cheapest taco costs €16.99. Only rich people can eat there.

A very beautiful and evocative location for a restaurant! Typical Latin American decor offers a menu rich in everything and more, especially traditional local cuisine. We were very pleased with the dishes, which offered a quality-price ratio typical of central Berlin-Mitte. Friendly and helpful staff with fast service. Recommended for those who want to savor overseas cuisine.

If you need to fill your stomach with garbage, you can eat here. Seven of us ate here, but we couldn't eat it. They're literally selling garbage. It's healthier to be hungry! Frozen ground meat, ready-made, additive-filled, poisonous food! We left without eating, but unfortunately, we still had to pay the bill. We'd rather starve than fill our stomachs with this garbage!

Only went for drink but Samir was the star of the show, he was so polite and attentive, a credit to the restaurant

It's a bit noisy, but we Saxons come to Berlin every year, and of course for the food – good prices and delicious 😋 😋 Keep it up!

Very loud and not very comfortable

A solid restaurant, very nice to look at. Depending on the day, it can be difficult to get a waiter.

Waited 20 minutes for a lukewarm beer and then had to wait another 20 minutes to pay for it...

The food and cocktails were good. The service was overwhelmed and untrained. The cleanliness in the women's restroom was appalling, worse than a public toilet! The tables in the dining area were sticky, and a request to the staff to wipe them down was ignored. The owner needs to get this under control, even when the place is full. One has to fear that the kitchen is just as filthy…

The food is okay, nothing outstanding, but the portions are large. The women's restrooms, however, are awful and unhygienic, ruining the experience. If you pay with cash, you don't get a receipt and can't verify the amount. The atmosphere is cozy, as long as you don't need to use the restroom.

The service was atrocious. We waiting for 1.5 hours for food, they refused to let us leave and when it did arrive it was wrong. How hard is it to serve 3 burgers and a burrito. Other tables sat ate and left in the time we sat there. To leave we had to pay the bill for food we didn’t eat. Total TOTAL waste of an evening and money. I’d never go back and if I could rate it no stars I would.

We were a group of 14 colleagues for our Christmas party. Almost everyone ordered different dishes, and without exception, everyone commented positively on the high quality and taste of the food, as well as the overall choice of location. The service was very friendly and quick. However, their German communication could be improved. Overall, a very good restaurant; we would definitely come back.

A huge place with plenty of space for lots of guests. Naturally, it's incredibly noisy; after a while, you can't hear yourself think. The staff were trying their best but clearly stressed, which was a bit of a shame. The food arrived hot and delicious. We were all satisfied. There's a large selection of cocktails, which were also quite good. However, the cleanliness of the restrooms definitely leaves something to be desired. They smelled like a train station toilet; they really need a good cleaning. You'd definitely want to avoid going back to the toilet afterward.

As a traveler, I hit the jackpot with Cancun. Authentic Mexican food in the middle of Berlin. Superb energy, huge restaurant, great party vibe and always full. Service is fast and personal. Food is delicious. If you want to grab a drink as well, they have over 6 pages of menu options 😃😃

The food tastes amazing, and the portions are very filling. The drinks and cocktails are also delicious. The service is friendly and attentive, and they even check in during the meal to make sure everything is okay. Wonderful! What wasn't so great was the restroom; it looked a bit run-down and dirty, with graffiti and other marks on it. Still, this place is definitely worth a visit. It was a bit noisy at the front of the restaurant, but it gets quieter further back.

Refused to give us tap water, and insisted on buying bottled water. Get a grip water is a basic right and we are also buying food and alcoholic drinks. Especially when your selling booze you should be providing tap water. Very greedy indeed!

The portions were generous, but we didn't like any of the dishes we ordered. Everything tasted strange; it was like a mix between Tex-Mex and Indian food. The worst was the guacamole—it was truly awful.

The worst food I've ever had in my life.

The food was very tasty. The portions were good. The prices are painfully expensive. They want almost €13 for dinner with cheese as a starter, which really hurts. The cocktail of the day is €2 cheaper, so it's the regular price. It's a huge place. We spontaneously showed up there with 11 people on Friday evening, and of course, they had a table for us. That's quite impressive. The nice thing is that it's both a restaurant and a bar. You're well taken care of there for an evening. However, with those prices, you can't go there very often.

It has a bit of a canteen feel to it.

The food at the Cancun restaurant was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant, so we had a really good impression at first. Unfortunately, it was significantly spoiled by the attitude of the waiter when paying. The moment we announced that we wanted to pay by card, the waiter started to claim that this was not possible and that this information had to be reported before ordering. In the end, he forced us to pay in cash. In addition, he calculated the bill for us from handwritten notes on a piece of paper and claimed that he could not issue a receipt due to a “computer problem”. When we expressed dissatisfaction, he suddenly went to the computer, entered the entire expense into the system and printed a receipt — but with a different amount than what we paid. The whole situation gave the impression that he was counting on us, as tourists, not to demand a receipt. It seemed that he had placed the order outside the system, which could also mean a financial loss for the owner if similar practices were repeated. It's a shame that such high-quality cuisine is spoiled by the unprofessional attitude of the staff. The restaurant has great potential, but this behavior rather discourages us from visiting again.

Well, I'm Mexican and I'm used to the food from my country. From the beginning, our guide told us to choose another option because we were going to be disappointed since we're used to Mexican food. But we decided to stay anyway. The food was just okay, as was the service, although the first waiter did a great job. When his shift ended and we were given a different waiter, he was nothing like the first one—super rude and discourteous. But for Mexican food in Berlin, it wasn't too bad.

The tortilla were somewhat dry, the potatoes only halfway done, but the servings more than big enough.

Nice, large restaurant, delicious food – the chili is very good, and so are the ribs. Unfortunately, the service isn't great; you often have to wait a long time, and the order of ordering and receiving isn't very efficient.

Delicious food at reasonable prices, which you wouldn't expect under the TV tower. You should always be able to find a seat; the restaurant is huge.

This was our second visit; the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly... so why only two stars? Because it's simply unacceptable to loudly reprimand employees in front of customers. This significantly impacted our stay, especially the noise level, which ensured all the guests heard it. It was simply embarrassing and disappointing – this is how you create a negative atmosphere. Next point: the cleanliness of the restrooms leaves much to be desired. They should be cleaned during shifts...

We were a large group with a reservation at Cancún. Unfortunately, we had to wait up to an hour and 45 minutes for our food. Guests who arrived significantly later received their meals first. Even a simple Sprite took almost an hour to arrive. The service was completely overwhelmed and disorganized, which made the entire evening very unpleasant. We were disappointed and will definitely not be returning.

We went there spontaneously today. The waiters were incredibly friendly, not pushy, but very attentive nonetheless. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We'll definitely be back.

I only had drinks, so I can't comment on the food. The atmosphere is okay, but the music was quite loud, which was simply annoying. Prices are more than reasonable for Berlin Mitte.

Sorry… but this is a disaster, the service is terrible, not only did the waiter (he) not come to take the order for a long time, we already wanted to leave, but we just wanted to eat, we ordered two teas, they brought a bowl and a spoon that were just dirty, I didn't have time to brew this tea yet, we ordered two steaks 🥩 it's hard to call them steaks. It wasn't tasty. We ordered two Coke cola, they brought it for 10 minutes 😂 I don't recommend this place, avoid it. This restaurant needs a lot of effort and training to provide good service, try as soon as possible so that you have more customers. I don't understand why when you ask to bring the bill?! So the waiter just came and said what's the cost, excuse me but I need to see the check first to know what I have to pay for?! This is a complete trend, not only did he not bring the check to the table, but told me to go to the cashier and pay it myself (so they didn't give me the check) 🧐 skarbówka is crying for you. I STRONGLY AVOID THIS PLACE. We paid 58 euros for 2 steaks, 2 teas and 2 coca cola. 💶

The staff were very friendly and helpful, however, it was far too loud overall – especially when birthday songs were played over the sound system. The sound system itself is unfortunately a disaster and desperately needs replacing. The cocktails were also underwhelming; the Moscow Mule, in particular, was disappointing. There is definitely room for improvement here.

A restaurant very popular with groups and a mixed crowd of all ages. The ambiance is truly appealing – stylish design and great background music. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The service is inattentive and makes numerous mistakes. We were there with a large group and had to wait a very long time for our food. One colleague was even completely forgotten and only received her dish after another long wait. I ordered the "California Summer" pasta – unfortunately, a real disappointment: the pasta was completely overcooked, and the vegetables were tasteless. It's clear that they prioritize cheap ingredients over quality. The Cancun appetizer platter was okay, but nothing special. The restrooms are an absolute no-go: dirty and neglected, more reminiscent of a public toilet in an abandoned train station. My conclusion: A visit is definitely not worth it.

Expensive but average food. The worst service I have ever experienced. Why? We come in group of four people. the service was completely oblivious, we first ordered beers that were brought in spin glasses. After that, they brought us three glasses of mineral water, so I drank from the bottle. Two main dishes followed, but instead they brought us an appetizer and one main dish. It was a huge meal for two. Of course, they brought us only 3 plates. There were some semi-finished products in the food, but of course also tasty things. Well, for 40 euros, I think it was grossly overpriced. The final fail was when I wanted to leave waiter only 3e for the completely horrible service that ruined our whole day and he started arguing with me that I have to leave 10% of the price. I was paying 100eur and want mack 10e, waiter do what he want and give me back 3e with an arrogant smile on his face. I recommend avoiding the restaurant. The only positive is the interesting interior.

The cocktails are delicious. The nachos with melted cheese are a bit pricey, but quite tasty. The avocado cream has a lot of garlic. We were here on Saturday evening and got a table without a reservation. It was very busy and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, but they were always helpful and very friendly.

We were there spontaneously in the evening, and the place was packed. We managed to get a seat without a reservation, but the noise level was very loud.

That was good. But with the number of guests, you can tell it's just hectic, and everything suffers as a result. No clean tables, a cleaning lady who was supposed to clean the restrooms... we were asked to pay in cash, while the tables around us were paying by card. The waitress didn't know what she was serving, couldn't communicate, and to top it all off, we were simply overcharged for 50% of our table. The atmosphere was quite chic, but simply geared towards the masses, far too loud, and cleanliness was simply nonexistent.

The food arrived lukewarm, and both steaks had gristle! The restrooms were also filthy.

The food is really expensive and not tasty at all. (We got tacos and fajitas) The cocktails were ok. With the same amount you can find muuuch better places in Berlin center. It is obviously just made for tourists.

The service was uninspired and unfriendly. The food arrived after two minutes, was sometimes cold, and didn't match the menu. Everything seemed cheap and tasted that way, too. The menus looked like they had been freshly fished out of the Spree.

Terrible, rude, bathrooms with the floor covered in pee, they try to scam you, in conclusion, don't come here because the place is terrible.

A purely tourist restaurant with mass processing... a disaster!!!! The tables were sticky because they weren't cleaned after the last guest. The waitress finally came to the table after half an hour and said that the food would take 1-1.5 hours if ordered. When the food arrived, it didn't look appetizing, and my companion vomited after 3 bites because it was so bad. The beans looked like vomit, and the rice was so hard, like it had been sitting on the plate for days. My salad with rump steak strips wasn't good either!! The avocado described came as a sour cream, and the rump steak strips were as hard as a shoe sole... We communicated this openly and honestly with the waitress, but they dismissed it with a "sorry, I can't change it now" and a "you could have said something earlier, then they could have replaced it." We ended up having to pay the full price, even though we hadn't even eaten half of it and the situation was known. 🤮 Simply inappropriate and disgusting!

I came here today on a recommendation and was unfortunately completely disappointed. The restaurant was very busy; no one was really interested in my reservation; everyone had to wait. Okay, it wasn't nice, but we're not going to let it get us down that easily. The waitress was nice and brought us the menu and drinks relatively quickly. When ordering our food, we were told to allow 40 minutes – no problem. We asked for the first time after an hour, and the second time after 1.5 hours. After 2 hours, we paid for our drinks and left. The waitress apologized, but the manager didn't respond.

The restaurant is very large, yet the tables are very close together, especially in the front area. The noise level is very loud. The staff is friendly, but also overwhelmed. If you're looking for good Mexican food, this is the wrong place. You'll get full, but that's about it.

After waiting 2.5 hours for the food, we demanded the bill. Then we were questioned as to whether we really wanted to leave without eating, and we came up with many far-fetched reasons, hows, whys, and whys. Many guests, including us, left the restaurant dissatisfied. At the next table, guests even waited over three hours. It's completely understandable that you might have to wait longer for your food on a Saturday night, but this is a real imposition. On top of that, the music was so incredibly loud that you couldn't even have a proper conversation. That was the last time...

If you want convenience, go somewhere else. We arrived during the evening rush but were willing to wait. But in the end it wasn’t worth it. It took 20 mins to get seated another 30 to give our order, 30+ to get our drinks and at least 45 more before our food arrived. Not to mention the other tables that were seated after us got their orders before we got ours. The staff was friendly though, albeit chaotic - there doesn’t seem to be an effective system for taking and delivering orders. And the kitchen is beyond slow. Plates seemed to come out two at a time every ten mins - in a restaurant with over 40 diners. And to top it off - the back of the restaurant was empty even though when we arrived we were told it was full… just a weird and frustrating experience.

They have about 10 waitresses and not many customers. First, no waiter came for 10 minutes. Then theh misunderstood my order and then they brought it late. So, yeah not coming again

Food was great. We just stumbled across this place when wandering back from Alexanderplatz. It's massive but good service and great tasting food and cocktails.

We were there on Wednesday at 3:15 PM and slept in to get lunch! 👍🙏🏼❤️For €11.90 + 1 drink! Great 👍

The food was quite tasty, but I would have expected spicier food from a Mexican restaurant.

The cocktails were terribly watered down, there was almost no alcohol, and the Aperol was basically orange juice. The Irish coffee and whiskey didn't even have a taste, let alone a proof, and they even forgot to bring my wife an apple strudel.

It was so delicious that there was no time to take photos. We were there at lunchtime, so there was a free seat. The waiters were very nice and polite. I'll definitely go there again.

It's a variation of a "Mexican" food that I call appromation. In my fajitas, chicken and beef were ok but shrimp came from a can not the ocean. Guacamole was ok but no pico de gallo. There was some salsa insted. Onions and peppers were slightly undercooked and the "homemade" hot sauce tasted like a mild buffalo wing sauce. As I was trying ethnic foods in Berlin, this gets only 3 stars, and probably be okay with people who had never been to Mexico and never tried the real food

Great value for money and amazing food. Staff were super friendly and if I’m back in Berlin again if definitely stop here for some Mexican. It was a good hangover cure!

The food and drinks were mediocre. It looks Mexican, but in my opinion, it isn't. The service was better than the food. Prices are expensive compared to the quality. Typical tourist spot on Alex. Unfortunately, I wouldn't visit again.
